my 9003 telling me the internal and external SD unavailable as you can see on the attached photo
i have 8gb card it's working fine on my pc and other nokia phone .
when i try the parted command from adb shell i can access the external card on /dev/block/mmcblk0p1
but i can't see the internal memory on /dev/block/mmcblk1p1 as the entry shows on the /etc/vold.conf .
can't mounted or formatted from UI or recovery mode
am running XXKPH with CF-ROOT-XXKPH-21.08.2011
also tried different firmware with re-partition but no luck
i think it's internal hardware problem
please advice

now i have 4gb from my external mmc mapped to the internal , i can install apps and use my camera again

I think i have the same issue..my SD card is not being detected , its sayin "Mount SD Card" and that field is disabled probably because it doesnt know that its there even though i have an external 16 GB card inserted..
fyi here are the specs :
model : GT-I9003
Android version : 2.3.7
Internal Memory : 1.87GB
SD Card : Unavailable
Baseband : I9003XXKPQ
ROM : MIUI 2.3.30
Here is the thing, i have flashed my phone about a 100 times, with various ROMS including stock XXKPE,XXKPQ (latest) and still no success
Also, the funny thing is, only 12 gb of my 16 gb external sd is usable so im guessing the 4 gb is being used internally by the phone for the default 2 + 2 gb of samsung galaxy s
on reboot to recovery, when i go to --> install from sd card, it says E: cant mount \sdcard
whereas when i go to --> install from internal sd card, it shows me all the files,folders on my external sd card
Another thing ive seen is when trying to clear cache it says :
E:format_volume: rfs format failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p3

Now all said and done, i just wanted some sort of idea whether i should go ahead with this solution because im very sure its the same problem..ive inserted my external sd card on other samsung galaxy s and it works fine..and ive tried inserting other external sd cards onto my phone but it doesnt get mounted..

ihave a same problem but in step 2 edit the vold.fstab
i cant because there is no way to replace vold.fstab root explorer dosent run and adb cant get sdcard for replace vol.fstab anyone can help?

its the same problem mate... see my post here... now my problem solved using above method.. the only thing is, every time the device restart or on from battery drained, need to configure everything back including APN for data connectivity..

install any root kernel into your phone 1st.. then put it into recovery mode.. connect to pc and run android sdk... type command "adb push c:\(location of vold.fstab file in your pc) \system\etc\" and enter.. type without the " and ().. this way you will push the file from your pc into your phone and it will replace the previous one..
example : adb push c:\users\anplugged\desktop\vold.fstab /system/etc/

1st of all, of course you'll need a larger capacity of SD.. i.e 16gb..
to increase the external memory space, edit the 1st partition of fat32 format.. in the picture posted by ahmedjust, he created :
start end
32.8kb 4702mb <--increase the end figure to get more space on external..
But the following 3 partition must have +/- space as seen on the pic..
You just need to do the math to divide the space...

Phone boots fine, but whenever I install an app it just reboots. Any ideas?
Did you know? Editing /etc/fstab is pointless. Every time you reboot, it is replaced by a default one.

That is not true. I am a user of modified fstab file and it has been very useful to me because it saved my phone from being totally useless. I used to have "pseudo resets" errors, "sd card unexpectedly removed" errors, "force closes", but now my phone is 99% OK (1% = my internal SD is destroyed already :laugh: ). But no more errors encountered after using modified fstab, very stable for 3 weeks and counting.
Hi all,
I have a Zopo ZP980.
I have used MiniTool to partition my internal SD card.
After all the changes I made I have one partition (no unallocated space) formatted to fat32 and set to active.
I can see the folder on my computer when I connect the USB cable but the phone shows I have no SD card.
When I go to Settings -> Storage I can click the "Mount phone storage" button but it won't mount.
I'm kind of a noob so please be as detailed as possible.

i found the way i want in mount2sd app, but there is a problem now i have the internal memory of 27go (1500 mo fat32 partition and other in ext3 partition).
and my external card is 1500 mo, but where is my 16 go internal memory?, i thinked there is be swapped like my internal memory is 32 mo and external memory 16 go but no....

OK, first check that your card is working fine o not.
Then, if you are trying to copy system partition Data to memory card, that is not possible without a root access.. System partition is usually 1.5 or 2 gb primarily used to install apps until it is filled and start using internal sdcard automatically.
Thanks fort reply, yes my sd card is working fine, i used Mount2sd app for extend my internal memory, so its use my sd card as internal memory and the app moves all internal data to my external memory.
But now my real internal memory is unmounted and i want her to be usable again and show in parameter/stockage, and yes i'm root by default with my custom rom, sorry for m'y bad english i'm french.

Hello, i have found some tips for the asus mémo pad hd 7, forts for Who have the problem with Google play store no connection problem you mustang delete a entry in host with host éditor: 127.189.51.242 mtalk.google.com i think this entry appear after 3 days (for me it was 3 days after i installed android) and block all Google app connection Google play store, Google +, hangout google drive.
Also when i bought m'y tablette in characteristic they say Max external memory si 32 gb but i tried the 64 gb card of m'y fâcher an dit world fine so ib. bought one think it work because its a class 10.
So i used mount2sd script for use external storage as internal and made 2 partitions one fat 32 50 gb and one 11 gb in ext4 for external storage sd card.
But the 16 gb of the réal internal storage ( Who was in the tablette) was ont mount but with root explorer i Can see it and stock data and i made a shortcut in my tablette but its don't appear when i plug the tablette in computer.
But i think the problem is with asus mémo pad hd 7 because the mount point of external sd is: removable/ micro sd.
But internal storage mount is: mnt/ sdcard and sdcard0 too and in link2sd when i try to move app ni external sd they say i can't because my external storage is mounted as internal storage so in mount2 sd the sd card cannot be swap with internal stockage i think someone Can fix that.i thank superdragon because i looked is thread its the best for the memopad hd7 tablet and i succesfuly flashed my rom and use is v1.1r2 rom and its work fine.
I have a rooted Xolo q700i phone. I've installed a external sdcard and which is shown as sdcard0 in /storage. In /storage there is also sdcard1 which is i think internal sdcard. I am not using this internal sdcard. Since my internal memory is full, I want to use this internal sdcard with link2sd.
Can someone please help me with this.
- How to create partition in internal sdcard?
- How to use internal sdcard with link2sd?
I don't want to use my external sdcard for this as that one is nearly full and I have to remove it sometimes.

I have problem one on my device.
Problem is memory in internal storage (1gb)
In settings->storage i have:
"Internal storage" , "Sd card storage" and "Phone storage"
3x storage, one is my "sd card extern"
All my apps/data/cache going to Internal Storage.
Phone storage always is empty and cant move on phone storage.
On sd card i can move all apps because i have rooted device.
Ok problem is not move apps, problem is so many apps using more "cache" and "data" and saving only in "Internal storage2 /data"
I want cache and data move to sd card or bind auto going to sd card folder like "data" "cache" and other..
No on internal storage. Because i need more spaces.
Internal storage its 1gb.
SD card: 16gb
Phone storage: 1gb
Idk why phone storage its not combine with internal storage like "ONE" and have 2gb.
Can u help me guys ?
I watch one tutorial say like: download: ES FILE explorer in root main find: system/etc/vold.fstab
If open vold.fstab replace line: sdcard0 to sdcard 1 and down sdcard1 to sdcard0.
If i do this i only replace: SD card storage with Phone storage and not help for me that because i want replace: Internal storage to sd card storage, and cant beacuse idk where is that file or line ? or can u one codder write that line and i can put it ? Pls guys and ty so much all
