I accidently opened and signed up for HTC Hub, but I keep reading how it sucks and is a battery hog. So, now I want to permantly close it and get rid of it. I'm not sure if it's safe to uninstall it via titanium backup. I don't want it to be hogging resources and battery.

I usually just log out of htcsense when I'm finished browsing the hub. I haven't tried deleting it cuz I do use it from time to time. I don't think that there will be and disadvantages to uninstalling because it's not cross integrated into the system as long as I know. You should adb pull or otherwise make a backup so you can restore the app if you run into problems.
You can simply freeze it via titanium backup. If that causes problems, simply unfreeze.

Is there a list of what Bloatware is safe to remove from Verizon Galaxy S3?
I ran across this spreadsheet the other day but don't recall which thread the link was from.

Another noob question...What is the difference between freezing an app and uninstalling one? I mean, it's a bit obvious, but also a bit vague...
My first few questions are rather broad/major... What's the different between a "package" and a ".APK" based on the spreadsheet being linked? Does freezing keep the process from restarting upon rebooting the phone??
Do I want to freeze apps that I want to keep for possible future use? Uninstall is for anything I want to get rid of completely and never plan to use, correct? I likely know the answers to these...But I also read that freezing an app is better and frees up more system resources than uninstalling....how can that be true? I assume uninstalling an app also "freezes" it, AKA stops it from processing...Correct?
So apps I might want in the future, like clock widgets, I just want to freeze, correct? Same for calender, calculator, etc?
On the other hand, I was to uninstall items like VZW Navigator, correct?
Sorry for redundent questions but I'm just making sure I do everything right.

From what I understand, freezing essentially deactivates the app. As long as the app is frozen, it should not start, regardless if your phone reboots. If you freeze the app, it will still be there, just not working where as uninstalling it will completely remove the app. If you are not sure if you want it, just freeze it.
Freeze disables it and leaves it in the rom and usually hides from app drawer. Uninstall deletes it from rom making rom footprint smaller but saves it in TIBU backup folder. Defrost re-enables app in rom. Uninstalled apps can be reinstalled from TIBU. Bottom line frozen app is still in rom thus not actually debloated just disabled. Uninstalled is removed from rom but saved by TIBU thus debloated.

I know this is an old thread, but does anyone have an updated list for TW 4.3?
I have this link
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AqTvctlW89DtdC1qVUlLeVFTV3ZOdUtDclpBdVRQOUE&pli=1#gid=0
but it's clearly old as I don't see listings for Cloud and Backup Assistant Plus, which appear to be some Verizon (not Samsung) backup options.
Anyone have a current list?
I was curious if I am supposed to disable something because after each time I flash, my apps all restore themselves. It seems that every thread I read people say they restore apps through TB. I do backup my apps with TB too but never have to restore them. Am I doing this right or do I need to turn off Auto-Restore Apps somewhere?
Thanks in advance.

Every time you flash Google will automatically re-download you apps. You can disable this on one of the screen on initial start up. People use Titanium because it restores the apps, and their settings too.
So, recently I've been have a strange problem with titanium after restoring my apps with titanium. When they are restored, the apps push notifications don't work. At all. I can rerestore through titanium as much as I want and the notifications do not work. If I go and uninstall and then re install it fresh from the market it works fine. This has happened on multiple ROMs both sense and aosp based. Examples of apps that don't work: Words with friends, Bike Race, Team Stream. Some apps oddly do work, but only a few, like ScoreCenter. Anyone have any ideas, or the same problem?
Yea as long as I have used titanium back up I never actually use the back up and restore features. I mainly use it to freeze certain apps, etc. I've learned that long ago in my infuse, the apps seemed to not work properly after a restore from titanium.

HI all,
Not too sure what to ask here,
I want to know if there is an app that will allow me to pick which apps i want to stay in memory.
In other words, stop apps from running or restarting, unless I open them, and to kill them when Im done.
Ive tried a few apps, but none seem to actually stop the app from restarting.
Running SGS i9000 Gamerzrom JB 4.2 Root
Titanium Backup Pro
Try titanium back up pro, it has the feature to convert downloaded apps to a system app. Apps converted to system app won't be killed and should keep it from restarting. For more info, search about titanium backup and converting apps to system apps.
Try using 'All in One Toolbox and go to Startup options where you can configure which apps can start on boot(needs root). You can also uninstall apps from it. It is as its name does many things and alos has a nice Home Screen widget for quick access. Try it.
Sorry forgot to mention ive been using ZDBox all in one, it has a task killer in it too.
Hard to elaborate what im looking for.
Put it this way, I want everything to stay closed until I use it, and once im done using it, for it to close and stay closed again.
Killing at startup only works on startup. If the app is set to restart then thats a wasted feature.
I dont really want to change an app into a system app as that will keep it running when the system allows it to.
Any other suggestions? there has to be an app out there that developers or memory attentive users, are using to keep their memory and cpu free.
