Hi guys,
Recently I bought couple of MTK based Smartphones from China, but I didn't realise they are coming with Chinese and English only. I have the language files that I want to import, but I am not sure how exactly I am supposed to include them into the ROM. I believe that I need to decompile, add the new language files and compile the ROM again, but I am not exactly sure how. I do not want to download already compiled multilanguage roms, but do one on my own, keeping all the original software that comes with the phones and only including couple of additional languages.
I am willing to make a small donation to the one who takes the time to explain everything to me step by step
Thanks in advance.

if I got you right, then first try to implement your language readability. for this:
1) copy your language font into /fonts directory
2) add font entry into /etc/fallback_fonts.xml
...(see already present lines of code to get an idea)
3) restart your phone
4) open a web page in your language to see if it is readable.

I read a lot of posts here abut installing Hebrew (MENUs) in android Chinese devices... But this is not my question
I just want to know - if the direction of right to left (rtl) is solved in android 4 version.
I want to buy Chinese device - leave the menu in English - and just want to type and read Hebrew (sms, surfing etc.) - (buy downloading hebrew keybord app).
thank you alot - this will help me.

IMHO, for writing hebrew and reading it, I think is not related to the Android OS version.
Also, I think maybe the problem is that you can not change the rtl setting in chinese devices.
You could try to get a multilanguage rom for your device and check if hebrew is included.
But that was just my opinion.
Have a nice day!

Hii
Hebrew is not included in the languages menu.
But I read a lot about that android 4.0.3 support RTL - and don't matter if it's Chinese or not.
Hi again.
I have tested with my phone, SGS+ with "paranoidandroid" rom (ICS) and changed the system language to hebrew (i think it was) and I can write from right to left using the stock android keyboard.
I meant chinese phones are less supported and you will have a hard time searching a compatible rom or even rooting it.
So, question answered?

It's posible... but you need "developer's skills" if you want insert the italian language in your current Stock ROM. On the other hand, the "Easy" way is install https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.co.c_lis.ccl.morelocale&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImpwLmNvLmNfbGlzLmNjbC5tb3JlbG9jYWxlIl0., and set your LOCALE (I assume is it_IT). In general all non system apps will be translated, and maybe some system apps too, or maybe not.
Another "solution" is install a Custom rom like CyanogenMOD. You can read this thread.http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2121029.

Thank you very much
+1. developer skills: - this is the most difficult and time-consuming solution (I made this, translate the official ME JB + official ME ICS rom's from English to Hungarian):
You decompile the main apps (framework-res, moto-res, blur-res, system, setup, phone, chinamms, browser, etc... cc. 20 app) translate the .xml files, put this in the res/values-in and recompile the apps. - it"s realy hard, but the earlier ME ICS probably has italian language support, If I remember correctly, and those files may help.

TTS is text-to-speach only. NOT any menu texts. I'm not sure about if its stored in the same place when using different android version. Which android version is your clone running?
What mean the Chinese are not French: LoL ?

hello friends,
My problem - I want everything in spanish in this i747m s3, this phone comes with only french, english and other character language,
I tried ALL ROOT APPS changing system locale, like morelocale, language enabler etc etc etc but none of them is changing system language to spanish
I then decided to install slimrom but it required TWRP and TWRP is not mounting my device storage.
Now I don't have any other option to modify stock ROM and add spanish language to that ROM and flash it.
Please tell me how to do it?
I have linux Mint distribution installed on this computer,
I found some link here, which one to follow, please add something if those links are missing some steps to add language in STOCK ROM.

Hi!
This is a zip with some modded overlay apps that i add all languages pack versions for 6.0.1 version.
I´m not responsible for any bricked devices, dead SD cards, etc, etc.
[*]Remember it, YOU are choosing to flash it, and if you point to me your finger for messing up your device go first to a mirror and you will find the true responsible for the mess up !!!
Is working fine like this Facebook comment shows:
It have the languages from that the images bellow shows:
Note: ALWAYS DO BACKUP BEFORE FLASH!
To flash use TWRP than do factory reset:
FULL_IDOL_LANGUAGES_PACK_6.0.1.zip

Enjoy it!
If you try it let your comment!

It may not translate the curtain/quick settings ?, I set it in Spanish and does not translate it. But it does in other languages like French, Russian, etc. How can I fix it? I must edit the SystemUi?

So I was about to send a million thank you's @PERSONA after I realized there's no Greek language support.First hit was on decker's thread(installed MM,no Greek) now that I got excited again,I hit another one.I mean I saw the screenshots but I was hoping there was somewhere in between unseen. This phone seems like cursed ( as long as 6039h ).
Just wanted MM to eliminate some bugs not for the trend ,but language puts me off.
Anyway ,for the rest of the languages this mod works just fine.I was able to flash it without any problems whatsoever. So , if you happen to see your language included go ahead!
p.s. I've read pages out of pages and I'm still reading and confused( rom level language import). If anyone could point me to a solution I'd be grateful.

Use MoreLocale2 in order to have the Greek Language except the Settings.
Other option is via Xposed module.

Yes,just a little while before I login,I discovered it and I'm going to experiment.I'll also try xposed. When you say settings which settings do you mean? The drop-down menu ( QuickSettings) with GPS,Wi-Fi,Airplane mode etc. or the one where there are options like Battery,Screen,Language and Input etc.?
Because if it is the last one I've already translated, both user interface and Settings, except the Memory section and Storage section ( still in english ).In a few words I am at a stage that with some, let's say cheats( vendor overlay ),I've managed to import all languages ( tested with other language as well ).But the "QuickSettings( I hope this is the actual name )" remains untranslated no matter what. That and the Memory plus Storage I mentioned earlier. But,anyway thanks for your input.I'll continue my journey into Android "editing".But damn I'm sooo close...Thank you again!
p.s. Do you happen to know where the location of QuickSettings is or the actual name for it,as to Google it?
