Is there anything to make the camera quallity better? - Moto G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

The camera quallity is pretty bad. Anyone knows a good way to make it better? by change the settings/different camera app/change rom/etc...
My phone is Moto G - GPE
Thanks!

Only Motorola can help us with this, changing the noise-reduction algorhythms built in with the firmware.
The only thing we can do is to leave comments to keep alive this thread in Motorola forum:

Thanks man !! I'll try to talk with them too. I was trying some camera apps... None of them made the picture quality better. :/

Hey bro! Why don't you try to install another camera app? Or you can try to add tweaks in the build.prop to make the image quality better. In my opinion, the camera app of Moto G GPE is better than the Motorola's

Might help
Maybe this will help. Just a good photo enhancer - Pixlr Express

Pixlr Express is good for touching up your photos, also on the motorola camera app you can slide the wheel and turn off widescreen mode, this means that the camera uses all 5 megapixels whereas if widescreen is on the camera only uses 4

See the difference that can be causing this?

I replied to this discussion, I'd like know how to fix this problem. I prefer a picture with noise and definition than a waterpainted one. Now have you find a way to improve the camera? Thank you guys

Thanks to everyone who joined that discussion... With so many comments and feedback I think they will help us for sure!

FFC in reverse?

First off let me save it my apt for some reason isn't loading up G2x q&a, which is why I'm posting here.
Now for my question.
Has anyone noticed, that the front facing camera takes pictures in mirror image?
Case in point:

}
Here is the same item using the RFC:
Just found it interesting. Anyone know why?
Sent from my [rooted] LG-P999 using the XDA App.
Maybe because its use is for video calls...stand infront of a mirror and talk, thats how the other person actually sees you.

Ehhhh, I appreciate the input, but my webcam doesn't work like that. Although, who am I to discredit your theory, it's better than mine which is better than any thing I can come up with.

/facepalm
open the FFC and hold the phone facing you but near a wall, right or left side is fine... now switch it to the RFC and hold it near the wall... view the photo taken with the RFC from the view that the camera was facing, keep the FFC view facing you... see how the wall on the two different camera views are both on the same side?
if it is still not clicking then lets try this... go to a MIRROR, imagine that the person you are seeing is not really yourself (hard i know lol but think abstractly)... point at THEIR left eye... now, point to YOUR left eye...
now think of the different cameras in the position of the mirror instead and how the different views would effect what you are actually seeing... have fun with this mindfuck
It is all about the orientation of you and the camera and what the camera is viewing then what it is displaying back to us...
btw the FCC is showing the correct view

Remote control and *view* your phone camera with Android Wear

Just wrote an Android Wear app to remote control *and view* your cell phone camera live. I have a series of other hacks I plan to do in the near future but here's a start. Open source too so hope people can help contribute and make it better! Welcome feedback, pull requests, suggestions.
On the play store:

Source on GitHub:

Post on my website:

Now you can spy on people and take photos of them without them knowing it xD
Very cool app. Works well. Thanks for this!!

This is brilliant!!! Absolutely brilliant!!!
Well done!
Totally awesome app!
I've made a bunch of updates to Wear Camera Remote since the first release now. I've added basic support for turning the flash on/off and switching between front/rear camera. But I'm doing it differently than all those paid apps (e.g. Pixtocam) in that I want the UI to blend in well with Google's UI. Also small buttons on a smartwatch is awful to use.
More features to come in the future when I get time, stay tuned. Or if someone wants to help extend this vision, it *is* an open source GPL project.

Awsome app !
Can you consider for the next version to be able to disable the screen on the phone ?
It's this for nexus devices only or all phones? It doesn't seem to work on my LG G3.

Not working on my HTC One either. The only app that's given me phone->watch video is LookBehind but it cost like $2. In any event, people are blown away by this James Bond-esque feature

[Request] Attentive display for Cyanogenmod

Hello,
Did anyone find how to put Attentive display or an equivalent in Cyanogenmod 13 ?

This feature, available on stock, keeps the screen awake while we're looking at it, and it uses the IR sensors to be battery efficient. That's why I was looking for this app.
Any help would be appreciated
Cheers

Previously this feature called "User Aware Display" was in CM12.1 (Lollipop) for Quark but was removed by the dev as it stayed on even when it shouldn't.

And as you know the most recent snapshot works well -- except no "user aware display", which I miss also.

The reason I removed user aware display was lack of stability of the feature (would keep the display on persistently in unwanted cases).

Okay. It's sad to hear but not a big deal. I miss this one but the other Motorola features work surprisingly well in Cyanogenmod.
That's all I wanted to know, thank you very much !
still there on RR:
Yeah, I saw that ! I would like to know if it's stable. Because I guess that if it was the case, it would be merged back into CyanogenMod...
The straight way would be to test myself, but I don't have time for now and I don't know how to reproduce the bug !
If someone has some information, feel free to post about it...
Cheers

It works. I dont like it because it stays on if something is in front of it. For example i threw a shirt on my phone and it stayed on. My solution for that is increase the screen on time to 2 minutes.

I have the same problem. It looks like it is focusing when taking the picture, but the final picture is ALWAYS out of focus.
I have discused this in the RAW freedcam post. All cams, except the motorola always out of focus on macro lowlight. Motocam the g3 version and the ported g4 takes this ok, but with elevated ISO.
The solution is use motocam original version g3 or the port of g4 or use a camera app with flash torch mode. Like opencamera or freedcam,

I can't replicate this on mine.
Well, i have received an explanation from a bro, which have find the same situation. He just think that it related to brightness. When the sensor detect the brightness is enough, the 2X camera will run, if it detect brightness is not enough the camera will change to 1X camera. Sothat, when the light in a embarrassing situation(no brightness enough and also not realy dark) this issus will happen, two cameras switch and switch, realy quickly and also again here is a kind of explanation ,so am i.
Try video Pro

Yeah I see what you did there XD. Neat trick.
High light/contrast on the computer screen and no light on the Keyboard...you're asking for problems.
Have you tried using the Pro video app. That's going to get a better shot than the standard camera app.
While I can't possibly see the reason for attempting this kind of shot in low light conditions. I have sort or re-created it on mine but the camera wants to focus on where i hold my finger/thumb; which has next to no visual queues for the hardware/software to recognise so it will do what your are seeing.
I agree that the camera has become a little sluggish in 2X mode in low light. But to be honest I wouldn't have bothered until you posted this.
It's doing exaclty what I would expect it to do under the conditions.
