Lists - Samsung Gear 2

I searched but I couldn't find anybody else to ask this question I'm just wondering if anybody has any luck using lists?for example to make a shopping list and then at some point later be able to add items to the list

I've just seen a new app called wearable whiteboard which may meet your needs to write a basic list? However, i agree that an app that would allow a user to transfer lists between a phone and watch would be great. Better still an evernote integration so that lists and notes can be created there and synced with the phone.

I really miss Evernote on my Pebble. That worked the best - how is it that the marketing promos for the Gear 2s listed Evernote as an app, yet it's not been ported yet and Evernote support even seems to be indicating there were never any plans for it when someone asked directly.
Until then, I'd settle for a simple app that I can paste a list into from the phone and then tick off as I complete items on the watch. That would be nice for one way management - the cool thing w/ Evernote is it synced both ways, so if it was a To Do list, I'd be able to see the changes i made to lists on the watch on the desktop/phone apps.

Text Messenger - The Text Message Away Message

Hey all, I'm new here but was looking for an outlet to announce applications. I have just finished up my first Android App and was hoping for some reviews/comments/suggestions. Criticism Encouraged!
Text Messenger is a simple away message application for your Android phone. There is a full version for $1, and a DEMO version (where you cannot change the default away message) for FREE.
Give it a try, then give it a Buy!
EDIT: updated barcodes to go directly to Android Market, rather than through AndroidZoom.
Just checking in to see if anyone had a chance to review my app, and had any comments/suggestions/criticism?
To make it easier to find I will post some barcodes (DEMO and Full Version) for the apps.
Thanks.
Robott Creations
I'll check out the demo version real quick and tell you my thoughts =P

Thank You.
Don't mean to be mean, but don't people take a non-reply to mean that the recipient is away/busy ?
I can't test this because I use gvoice for texting.

That's alright, I know this isn't for everyone. With the current state of texting, especially with the younger crowd, I have seen many instances where people say "What the [email protected]#$ why aren't they texting me back!!!"...I guess this is more for those types.
Also, I find myself in situations where I really should not be reading/responding to text messages but I end up giving in knowing there is a message. With Text Messenger you can set your Away Message and automatically put your phone on silent at the same time. So when I am driving, in class, or anywhere else where I shouldn't be answering a text I do not feel the urge.
Pretty cool - few suggestions
Hey, just checked out the demo version of the app. I'm a brand new Android user. Coming from windows mobile I needed an app like this. Just a few thoughts as to what would make this an even better app. These are just suggestions and ways that I would like to be able to use the app.
1. Allow for profiles to be set up. Such as during certain user defined times, the app automatically sets an away status.
2. Allow for away statuses to be enable for specific contacts, like a black/white list.
3. Set up a quick reply list so I can select from some predefined messages such as "Call if it's an emergency", "In class"...
Keep us updated...
Nice app by the way

I do not know why you would not be able to find my app? Did you try scanning the barcodes I supplied? Do you have Android 2.2?
Anyways, I attached the apk for the DEMO Version of the app. In this version you can not change the away message, but if you purchase the full version for $1 USD the away message is completely customizable.
Thank you for the interest in my app!

Thanks for trying out my app.
I plan on adding a customizable list of away messages, so you can easily set "In class" etc...look for that update soon.
The Black List & Scheduled away messages are a great idea, although the initial decision creating the app was to make it as simple and quick as possible. Adding these features would be great, but also add more complication. I suppose there is no harm in adding these as optional features though, since if people wanted a quick easy solution they could simply not enable them.
I will keep you updated on the changes coming, look for your #1 to definitely be added with the possibility of #2 and/or #3.
Thanks again for trying my app, and leaving feedback!
P.S. Anyone else that has tried the app it would be great if you could rate it on the Android Market. Only a few people have rated it/commented, and I know many more have given it a try.
I like the demo app. I would like to try the full version but don't see it on the Market. I tried the posted barcode and it never loads the link in the browser.
Thanks,
I downloaded the donation version to be able to say what I want. What an awesome application. I can easily say one of my top 5 most useful. I set it when I'm driving, in a meeting, flying (in the air force) or when I'm busy with a million other things. Here is my list of features I would love to see, forgive me for any duplicates from any other post;
1. A widget! One that when pressed will turn on the auto reply AND have a drop down list of saves/pre-made responses.
2. Option to turn off notification bar icon, I hate that big green booger on my minimalist bar.
3. Option to save messages for future use through a quicky list
4. Option to have messages be contact specific (I would love to see this and would justify a higher price as it would make this an essential app, on par with SetCPU!)
5. Lastly, some notification of auto reply being sent, I'm currently not seeing one on my phone.

I'm using Android 1.6 on my HTC Tattoo. I scanned the barcode but I think i cant find it because my resolution (240 x 320) might not be supported.
I would like to buy the app, but i live in Belgium, and payd apps can not be bought from the market.
I just tried to install the app using the apk-file, but it doesn't works. Can u make a version for 1.6 plz, i really like it.

Thanks for giving it a try. If you press the menu button when in the DEMO Version there should be an option for "More Apps" this will bring you to the Android Market where you can see the FULL Version. I also attached a different barcode, this should link directly to the market rather than through AndroidZoom...let me know if that works for you? Otherwise just search "Robott Creations" or "Text Messenger" on the Android Market.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have heard more than once the need for customizable preset messages & option to turn off the notification "booger". I look to add those features this week. The rest of the suggestions I also agree with, and will hopefully work them in. I was looking to keep the app extremely simple, but the feedback so far has made it sound like the app is "too simple".

I am not too familiar with the Belgium Android Community, but it sounded like you said you are unable to buy any apps? If so, I do not know what I can do about that. But I will look into comparability for Android 1.6.
Thanks everyone, the feedback I have been getting has been excellent. I look to add some of these features shortly and supply you with exactly what you are looking for.
Version 1.5 Released
I read all the suggestions, and am trying to get them in ASAP.
Here are some features to hold you over until the next Update.
New to Version 1.5
------------------
* Custom preset Away Messages
- Easy interaction via Context Menu
* Enable/Disable Notifications
* Text Forwarding (Currently only supports other Phone #s)
* Minor Cosmetic Fixes
More Updates Coming Soon!
I hope the Android 1.6 support will be there soon. Such a lovely app ...

Both depend on the support of the project. Currently I have been hearing good feedback, but the number of downloads does not assure me it would be worth the time of creating an Android 1.6 version and/or porting to Windows Mobile.
I am currently working towards Version 2.0, and after that I will investigate porting and 1.6 support.
Thank you both for showing interest.
Any way of choosing which Apps this works with, as just had it in a weird loop on my facebook status. As I have fb notifacations sent to my mobile via texts, its put all away messages on my facebook, then as I had a new post, got sent a new text, which then triggered another away message...... Turned it off for now, but really good and usefull app, if you can have it only work with chosen apps. Like Handcent only.

Better Facebook app?

Hi guys, just wondering whether anyone can help to create a better Facebook app?The official Facebook app is great but just some issues with it.I can't seem to view photos that doesn't come with a album and sometimes, the Birthday of some people aren't shown.Lastly, maybe a function to be able to view your mutual friends with a certain someone would be great! This Facebook 'part' I unfortunately feel that the iPhone Facebook app is actually better...So please, any app developer for a better Facebook app???

Great! Can you upload the .apk please?

a lot of people have this issue. i pulled this from the developers blog (http://fbandroid.wordpress.com/), give it a shot, and report back
Update: Kate from the comments provided some instructions to get the 6 digit code! Thank you Kate!
1. In your browser, enter in http://m.facebook.com (this will bring up the mobile site)log-in to your facebook account.
2. In the “Search” box at the BOTTOM of the page type in “Bloo for Android” and click on “Search”.
3. Click on the application “Bloo for Android” (NOT the group).
4. Then click on the button that says “Allow”. This will link your Facebook account with Bloo.
5. Now, from your phone go to your Bloo application and click on “Get Code” and it should take you to the code page!
6. Enjoy!
*Note* I used the m.facebook.com site directly from my PC, I didn’t try it on my phone… so if it doesn’t work on your phone, try it on your home computer.
I hope this helps out a lot of people!
That wireless flawlessly. You saved me alot of time later on trying to figure that out. There is one option I see missing. The search option. I don't want to scroll through all my friends just to get to one of their pages.
Edit, I figured it out how to do it.

well you can either use the side scroller, or long press your phones menu button to bring up your keyboard, and it searches as you type
or if your phone has a search button, just press that
One more thing: keep in mind this app isnt flawless, it may suck your battery a little bit....and also ive noticed that if you get multiple notifications in a shrot period of time, it might skip over some......other than those two things, its certainly good enough that ive been using it since its release
Does it let you edit and post comments?

Guys I need help.I can't seem to view photos of myself or other people. It says there's no album. And events are not shown too...
You cant easily click a photo on the facebook apps stream and have it point you to the photo, usually it dumps you to the profile instead...
Sort of on topic sort of off topic...
I don't think people should have to make better alternatives to the Facebook app.
I think facebook should get their bloody act together and give us a suitable app that:
Has all the features of the utterly fantastic Iphone one.
DOES NOT RAPE BATTERY.
If everyone rates it 1 star we will get an update. simple as that...
Personally I have uninstalled Facebook, wiped it from the system folder, I use SyncMyPix for contact photos and I use Tweetdeck to pull in my facebook updates. for anything else I need on facebook I use the touch site...because what the app carried on sending you to anyway...
Ive noticed ive gained 3hours per charge since uninstalling all traces of facebook. It is just poorly coded, poorly presented, crippled bloatware.
The new F-plus on the market is pretty good. Offers push notifications and news feed now. Doesnt have chat. Go facebook chat is pretty good though.
I definintely like f+ better, I think I'll keep it and use it.

Google Reader app other than Newsr?

Newsr had a couple of problems that I will report to the developer but I was wondering if there is an app that can mark as read while you scroll instead of clicking on each feed to mark as read.

Feedly is awesome. Just what I was looking for. Thanks!

Taptu for me. Tried the others and they don't seem so easily customisable and simple yet slick to use.
I'm quite enjoying Pulse. It can import your Google Reader feeds (although it can't export its own feeds back to Reader), and for any feeds you have in both Reader and Pulse, the has-been-read flag will be synced.

You can actually get it to sync? I've tried it several times and all I get is to check network connectivity.
Personally I've yet to find one I really like.
Feedly doesn't seem to sync fully or quickly for me. There have been times that I know I've read an article already and it still shows up. Also I find the layout kind of non-intuitive. When I hit "home" on it I keep getting back to different places.
Retab has a better layout, if a bit crude at the higher levels. Once I'm in a section though it does flow nicely. The problem again is that it doesn't sync or track the read state between levels. If I go into my "android" reader folder and read all of the articles it still shows I have unread when I go back up to the top level until I hit refresh.
News360 is cool looking but dead in the water for me. Twitter and Facebook are the dumbest places to look if you're trying to predict what I like to read. How about, oh I don't know, my google reader account? No? Ok, I'll take a look again when you decide that I can decide what I want to read on my own.
My real issue with all of the tablet readers is that they've all focused on being "different" with their look and feel and have failed with the basic fucntion of getting my news and keeping it organized efficiently. That's probably why I keep going back to NewsRob. It's butt ugly on a tablet, but it syncs appropriately and uses local cacheing so the whole damn list doesn't re-load every time I open the app.

I sent you a PM about those. Not sure if you received it.
The bugs are:
1) In portrait mode, the app still shows the three columns.
2) Feeds that are in other languages (right-to-left) display the div/html code in title bar.
Thanks!
Is there any chance you could make Newsr sync items that are shared by my contacts under the contact name as a separate feed as per the Google Reader website? Currently the only way to see them is by looking at "All Items".
Also, can you make Newsr sync read items as well as unread? Sometimes I accidentally mark something as read and then want to go back to read it again. I can't seem to do this with Newsr.

I second this.
Also, I just discovered the open-article-with-inapp-browser button. How about loading all links in-app instead of opening the Browser? Example: digg articles.
+1 for Pulse here as well. I'm loving the interface and search function.
Pulse is no good if you have lots of friends in Google who share things and you want to share stuff with them.
The integration isn't there, it just grabs the feeds and that's it.

[APP REQUEST] Book Sync accross android devices

Not sure if anybody has discussed this, haven't found a thread that talks about this.
But some of us, and I believe more and more each day, own more than one Android device. In my case I own two phones and two tablets.
My request is, can anybody make or know where I can get an app that syncs books between android phone and android tablets?
For example if I'm reading a book while at work from my phone.. I would like to go home and open my tablet.. open the book app and continue to read from where I left off..
I do not know how to write android apps but in my simple mind I think this can work if the book is uploaded to a cloud and have the app from any android device have access to the same book. The function to book mark would be needed as it can be marked and saved while in the cloud and when I open the book from the app on the tablet it will know where I left off from the book mark I left behind.
In relation to this I'm speaking of good type of book apps that can read different type of ebook formats and not be limited to a service.
I believe there will be a need for this if not now then soon.
Not a good idea?

Looking for a quick memo app

My previous phone was the lg options g and the one thing I loved was LG's quick memo. Is there any chance of getting it ported to the nexus 5 or is there something similar?
Sorry if this has already been done or asked, but my search came up empty.
Thanks

"Ink over apps" does the same thing sort of. It let's you write on the current screen. It's a paid app though... only one I've seen of its kind in the Google store.

Look no further than google keep. sync across devices, store photos notes etc , even use voice to dictate a meme, I find it invaluable and easier to use than evernote.

Google Keep is amazing. Quick, easy, simple, and it works. Easy to set reminders too.
I already use Google keep. However, lg quick memo works differently than that. It allows you to write over your background. For example, if I get a call from a number I don't know, I would go to call history, enter quick memo to write the number on the screen. Then tap a button which allows me to browse the phone while that number stays on the screen so I can search that number without trying to remember it or write it on paper. Its all right in front of you. Obviously there is more uses for it than that.
I still have my rooted lg optimus g so I can pull the all from there. Not sure if that will work though.

I imagine you could set this up with Tasker. Take a screenshot which triggers it to be edited with a simple image editor, draw and save. Maybe assign it all to up+power instead of down.
