Google Wallet outside US - Tap to Pay working (no root required) - Moto X Themes and Apps

Ok, you've got Moto X with NFC but you'd like to use that for something. Motorola Skip would be a nice option if you can get one from US for 10-15$.
Still not enough? Let's get Google Wallet installed:
1. download Google Wallet 2.0-R163-v18-RELEASE APK (http://www.apk4fun.com/apk/7185/ or alternatives)
2. install Google Wallet and open it; it will tell you to move to US, ignore it but check out change country link in that pop-up message
3. temporary change home address to City: Clearwater, State: FL (Florida), Post code: 33760, street/name can stay the same
4. clear data for Google Wallet app, uninstall it and reinstall it from the same APK
5. set up VPN in phone settings: VPN Type: PPTP / VPN Server Hostname: bestvpnusa.com / VPN Username: bestvpnusa.com / VPN Password: 1183 (http://www.bestvpnusa.com/) or search for something safer like pureVPN (trial account: 2.5$). Connect to it.
6. reopen Google Wallet. Behold the magic: enter a new pin and enjoy
7. deactivate VPN connection, change back home address, setup a credit card in Google Play or Google Wallet PC interface if you don't have one already
8. open up Google Wallet, it should load without problems. Activate Tap to Pay option from My Wallet window, activate Orders Tracking if you like, just don't get too excited by Send Money menu link because it requires to verify you US identity (which you don't really have, remember?)
9. look like a total geek when using pay pass terminals in the real world. Some recent users reported that international transactions are declined, but you won't know for sure until you try it.
Setup worked for me in Europe, let other know if it works for you too.

Works, kinda

I've had Google Wallet installed I'm in Canada. I mostly use it to store loyalty cards. Don't know how I got it set up but I never had to go through all that. It even updated through the play store! I do have my primary google address set to a US address though so I guess that's why.
I can't get a Canadian card to work but I set up a US credit card in wallet and it worked. Tap and Pay also works. Well sort of. You are able to get the credit card terminal (in Canada) to recognize the card but the payment will be declined instantly, probably because the virtual google card that all purchases go through does not work outside of the US. (See https://support.google.com/wallet/answer/3222630?hl=en.) Anyways, I know that its not the actual plastic US credit cards problem because using the actual card allows the payment to go through (with a exchange fee of course).
So, basically you have a app that only keeps track of your loyalty cards and orders. Not bad but not great either.
I would love to be proven wrong though, if anyone has successfully used wallet to tap to pay outside of US AFTER google got rid of the prepaid card, please do share. (In the beginning Google had a prepaid card set up that you could deposit funds into and it worked everywhere, but they got rid of it)

After 2 days Wallet stopped working complaining again about country. This useless thread can be deleted.

[TUT] How to download/purchase from the Amazon Appstore outside the US

Here's the story, I tried to use my existing Amazon account which has a US shipping address on the Amazon Appstore, however that did not work because of my foreign billing address. So what I needed was a US billing address, so I used EntroPay.
EntroPay basically provides you with a virtual credit card (VISA), it's free to create an account, but they charge 5% of any amount loaded on the card, which is not that bad I guess.
The thing is, EntroPay does not support AVS (Address Verification System) check, which means that merchants have no way of finding out my registered address. So, even though I registered for EntroPay with my personal address, I can use any address as my billing address.
Requirements:
A credit/debit card
An EntroPay account (Free)
An account with any US package forwarding service (Borderlinx, VIAddress, comGateway, ...). I didn't want to use a fake address. (Free)
Benefits:
Download free apps.
Purchase paid apps.
Steps:
Create an Amazon account or use your existing account.
Create an account with any US package forwarding service. (Borderlinx, VIAddress, comGateway, ...) (I used Borderlinx)
You will receive a US address, write it down or save it somewhere.
Sign up for an EntroPay virtual credit card.
Add your EntroPay credit card number to your Amazon payment options.
Use your US package forwarding address as your billing & shipping address
Done
This is basically free. If you would like to purchase apps from the Amazon Appstore, you can load up your EntroPay card using your actual card with a minimum amount of $20, then they charge you 5% of the amount loaded.
Charges: https://www.entropay.com/popups/terms.schedule.php
*For extra security, you can use a prepaid card to load up the EntroPay card.
or just use http://www.fakenamegenerator.com/gen-random-us-us.php
amazon appstore is evil though and thus shouldn't be used. if you don't know why: use google

I didn't want to use fake info, plus I can buy apps this way. This tutorial is really easy and the accounts you need would probably take less than 5 minutes to create.
What was your experience with entropay like?
I have a Entropay account. I followed all these steps and tried it on the appstore but it doesn't seem to work.
It still keeps telling me that my region is not supported.
Can anyone confirm that this still works?
Thanks

This has recently been changed, they now check your ip to see your location.
use the webstore to buy any app you want using hide my ip or similar software.
Or use orbot app on your phone.
Use a Proxy!
I used the proxy redirection available at Market Unlocker app, and worked. It gets very slow to transfer the data, but, no matter what, works.
Market Unlocker has been tossed off from Google Play, however...this is annoying (I know is a very useful app, but I am concerned with ethics here: as the dev of the app is known and perhaps is here too, I'd like to know if is ok if some of us post Market Unlocker .apk, or should we wait to the own dev to present us a solution to download it).

[HOW TO] Get US Google Play Store (or any other)

OK, few peoples like myself were so frustrated when Google silently introduced "locked on certain country" account thing.
We lost access to what we used to, music, magazines, restricted apps, lower price of apps like here price of Tasker for US and other etc.
I think this tutorial will work for everyone, but I'm not sure, right now I have US play store for just few days. Using it without VPN or any other tool like location spoofer or market enabler. Also using it on PC browser without VPN.
WHAT YOU NEED:
1. two android phones (second phone you need for just for 10 minutes)
2. credit card
3. VPNoneclick APK
4. One Google account
SCENARIO:
You have one phone you are using as daily driver (my case Nexus 4) you have in that phone one Google account that is locked to your real country. Even if you try VPN + location spoofer + market enabler at same time you'r still locked to your country.
GOAL:
US Play Store
TO DO:
1. Delete your credit card from Google Wallet
2. Go to https://www.google.com/settings/account > next to Email click Edit > Set US
3. Go to play store, try to buy something setup credit card set US, for ZIP type any number (this is the best part: in g wallet you cant do that) , your name, skip rest
4. Do factory reset of your other phone (EVO 3D android 4.0.3 stock in my case), skip setup, don't add account!
5. Get to browser on EVO 3D and download VPNoneclick APK, install it (enable unknown sources in settings first), or install it via ADB from PC
6. Open VPNoneclick click connect to US, wait 30 sec
7. Open Play Store on EVO 3D and login with your locked account (it should be US Play Store now)
8. Clear data on Nexus 4 Play Store, without VPN or any other tool open it and login with same account like before and on EVO 3D
9. Say Thank You
Let me know if you have problems, I have few more things in account settings but I don't think they are relevant for this setup.
I was thinking of not sharing this because I'm afraid that Google will close this hole, and I will end up again without US play store.
But sharing is caring and I did use what other people have been sharing in past.
Thanks
I did a lot of different things and got it to WORK also...
the KEY step is when you MANAGE to get a US Play Store on ONE device (my process involved using a nexus 7 with vpn and a REAL US account + my intended account), and when you want to "transfer" to your original phone (and after to the PC play store also), you MUST not be connected to VPN and clear data on the Play Store app.
Then when you open it, it will be on the US Play store...

Downloading app that's not available in your country and/or your device

You need a rooted device. There are few applications that do not need root, but I do not know about them.
And I am not responsible for any damage caused to your device.
Not available for country
I was told there are so many ways but none of them are working now due to some restrictions by Google and I am able to download the applications that are not meant to my country (India) and that are not meant to my device.
In order to do that, we need a VPN application which makes the servers think that you are browsing from the allowed country. But that's not it. You should also have a Google account that's created in that country. So if you want to download an application that is only available for USA, you should have the Gmail account created in USA (in our case, USA servers).
There are so many VPN applications availabe on the store as well as from unknown sources to download.
I have tried VPN One Click, Hideman VPN, and DroidVPN personally and liked all of them. I was not really sure that these are well trusted, I will leave about them to you so you better check the review before you download them.
Basically, we are here trying to bypass your service providers IP address and make the online services (websites or play store) look like you are connected from a different country. So download your choice of VPN application and install it. In our example, let us think we are downloading an application that is meant for USA. Once the VPN is installed, set it to access through USA servers.
Now open a web browser and check yourself that you are directed to the USA based websites when search for something. Once that's done, create a dummy Gmail account. Once created, open Play Store, tap on settings > Accounts > Add Account. Now add the dummy account to your Android device. Make sure the Play Store shows both the accounts. It doesn't matter which was set to default, you can always change it. After you have added it, the apps will be downloaded/synced. You don't need to sync all your device data to this dummy account.
Now we have to delete all the data of the Play Store. Go to Settings of your device > Apps/Applications. Search for Play Store and tap on "Clear Cache" and "Clear Data" then Force Stop the app.
Now Re-Open the Play Store and you should be asked to accept the Terms of Services (make sure the VPN is still running and account of Play Store should be set to the dummy Gmail account). You should be placed in the USA based Play Store. Now you can search for the app and download it.
Not available for device
This will be helpful if you want to download an app that's not available for your device but you want to try it.
There are again so many apps that makes masks Play Store service. Out of which I have used is called one that's called Market Helper.
Download and install this app to your device. Open it and choose the type of device you want to make your device look like. In this case, we again are trying to download a Galaxy S3 supported app on non supported device. So select the type of your device as Phone and the phone as Samsung Galaxy S3. Set the Operator to USA and AT&T or anything else. Once all set, tap on Activate. Now go to Play Store and search for the application that's not available for your device.
Note : If you are trying to download an application that's not available in your country and also for your device, you need to setup both of the above instructions.
If you are having difficulty after trying everything, unlink your Credit Card details from your Google Account. You will have to log into Google Wallet to remove it.
Cannot connect google servers
Hi,
When i try to add new account it returns an error:
"Couldn't sign in"
"There was a problem communicating with Google servers.
Try again later"
Any idea? I used Hideman VPN.
Edit:
I was getting this error after typing password and next.
I don't know if it has any effect but turned off my phone, removed sim card
connected via VPN again, just entered google play with existing account and it asked a prompt from me for terms of usage. Accepted and searched for the application i tried to install which was not avalible for my country. (It should be actually but wasn't able to install after i rooted and installed PAC ROM 4.3.1)
Thanks again!

Hi,
Is this app really safe to use? It won´t steal data or hurt my phone, right? Thanks in advance.
You can do this job by using Rocket VPN which is free and safe to use.
Updating google play country
Ok so I contacted google today as I was trying to download an app that was restricted in the previous country I was in.
I had previously tried using vpns etc with no luck (LG G3)
Since this is my first post I am not permitted to post links yet, so add https:// to the start of each url
Below is their troubleshooting guide to fixing the issue, I'm assuming that putting in any country you like would allow you to access that countries store.
The content available in Google Play varies by country, and we use your home address in your Google payments service account to help determine which version of Google Play you see.
If you're having issues viewing your country's version of Google Play, please try the following troubleshooting steps (ideally using a browser on a desktop or laptop computer, but on a mobile device will work also):
1. Sign into payments.google.com and click the Settings icon on the left.
2.Click Edit next to the "Name and Address" and update the address (please note this is different from the "Address book" which holds shipping addresses).
3. Open the Google Play website and navigate to any paid item available for download at play.google.com/store/apps.
4. Click to begin a download until you reach the 'Accept and buy' screen (no need to complete the purchase).
5. Close Google Play and clear your browser cache if you're on a desktop or laptop computer.
6. Clear the cache and data of the Google Play Store, Google Play services, and Download Manager.
7. Wait 30 minutes.
8. Re-open Google Play. You should now see content that matches the country in your home address.
If these steps don't resolve your issue, you can also try purchasing a paid app and refunding it within the 2-hour return window in place of Step 4 above; however, returns like this can only be done in the Play Store app at this time.
If the country for your Google Play account still hasn't updated, please remove and re-add your Google account from your device.

How to [permanently] use the US Play Store outside of the US with no hacks or Proxys!

YOU WILL NEED A CREDIT CARD (But doesn't matter from where or if it's limited to your country)
This method will get you access to the US Play Store permanently, without the need to fake your location (sort of), so you can say goodbye to those slow and painful proxys!
Hi Guys!
This is my first thread here at XDA, so cut me some slack if it's not perfect, although I'm pretty sure you'll thank me for this.
So everybody likes the Play Store. However, as with most services, a big part of the contents are limited to the US version of the store. While other services like iTunes have this problem, creating a US based account is pretty much painless, and they never really ask after you tell them where you live, even you're lying.
Google, however, is a team of pretty smart guys. The Play Store is a service based on a website that uses your location to tell which is the correct store for the place you're in. However, I've discovered that this method only applies on certain occasions.
You see, the Play Store will only use your location IF you don't have a payment method selected. I'm guessing you know where I'm going with this, but I'll go on anyways. After you set up a payment method, the Play Store will use the location of the billing address of said method to determine the store it has to access.
So what does this mean? Basically, if you set up a credit card in Google Wallet with a billing address with a US zip code (regardless of the real billing address, if you set it up through the Android app you only have to access the zip code) your account will become a US based account.
Of course, this means that you can use this method to access pretty much any Play Store available with a short Google Search of a zip code from the place you want.
Anyways, I'll tell you step by step how I did it. I want to be very clear: there are other methods. Again, you only need to set up a payment method with a US billing address. But some people are fond of Step-by-step tutorials and I want to get this to as much people as possible.
So without further do:
1. Getting the android Google Wallet app. For this I used tunnelbear, an app you probably already know if you've been trying to accomplish what I did, but in case you're not familiar with it, it's an app that let's you surf the web as if you were in another country, so that location based websites (like the Play Store) will send you to that country's version of the site. Anyways, use the app and go to the Play Store to download the app into your phone. If the app doesn't show up, chances are that already have a payment method with a billing address outside of the US, so you must remove that. Don't worry, you can enter it later, and even use it to buy thing (look at the end of the post)
2. Setting up your payment method. Once you get the Wallet app, use the menu button or the 3-dot menu and go to settings. The first thing you should see is "Credit and debit cards". Tap that and then tap the "+" sign on the top right corner of the screen. Here you must enter the card info. YOU MUST USE REAL INFO, OTHERWISE IT WON'T RECOGNIZE THE CARD. The cardholder name is irrelevant. where it says zip code, you can probably guess what you need to do. I used a Florida zip code, but again, any US code will work.
3. Final steps to victory! We're almost there! now that you've set up your US payment method, all you need to do is clear the Play Store app's Data (NOT ONLY THE CACHE). To do this, go to your phone's settings app, find the application manager, search for the Google Play Store app (be sure you're on the "ALL" tab on the most right) and tap it, and then tap the button that says "Clear data" (again, don't JUST clear the cache!). Proceed and then go the Play Store app. You should be prompted to accept the terms of service, meaning that everything went fine and dandy. Now feel free to enjoy!
And there you go! No more proxys, VPNs, and temporary solutions! Again, this method is probably not the only way to achieve this, but I'm hoping that you at least got an idea of what you need to do to accomplish this.
I used my personal credit card, and to be honest, I'm not sure if prepaid cards will work, but I don't see why they shouldn't. Also, regarding the ability to buy apps and other contents, it seem to work just fine. I've purchased a couple of apps and books, so everything seems to be working fine.
The only time I had a problem with a payment was when I wanted to buy 25$ of Play Store credit, where the operation wouldn't go through, but I quickly solved it by buying the credit using Tunnelbear and then I could use the credit without any problems (and without Tunnelbear of course).
I really hope this works for you, It's really a shame that Google doesn't make the Store international (or at least get it to more countries quicker) since that is probably the only thing that is helping iTunes get the upper hand on it.
If you have any problems feel free to PM me, I'm far from an expert but I might be able to help you.
PD: As this is my first post, the title is very barebones. If you want to help me with what I should put up there, I'm all ears, since I want to get this to as most people as possible. Thanks in advance!
I am going to give this a try, but a few questions: do you need to do this on each device or is once enough, and what will happen when for instance devices will become available, the US nexus 5 is incompatible with European 4g networks. Will you only be able to get the US variant and what about delivery?

Good try, old info . Many guides and threads on this one.
And you forgot a crucial big time info...
You should use a ZIP Code/State/City from a state without Sales Tax....
Lets say Oregon, Portland....
or else you will be subject to the Sales Tax of the state....
Woops!

Well, to this day I have not found a guide to permanently achieve this. Although I should've expected that someone would've figure this out before me
About the state-dependent tax, I wasn't aware of that as I haven't been prompted to pay it, guess Florida is one of those tax free states

No florida isn't tax free, about 7% depending on the city
And it didn't work for me... I had a credit card that I used to pay some apps a long time ago (with marker enabler)
I removed it, enter another one but I couldn't make the trick, sadly my market is still blocked

Permanently ? You for sure mean temporarily till Google blocks it ...
And if you did not find it, then you did not search hard enough
One of the older guides I used to get my Music http://www.androidbeat.com/2013/05/get-google-play-all-access-to-work-outside-us/ ....
And yes as the poster above me, its not tax free... I had some tax free purchases, but then an in app purchase came with a tax... thats from what the screenshot in the attachment is from.

Well for me it worked after I have no idea what. Default card I have on a US address, completely US. Not just ZIP or Country.
Now I have everything correct the country code being US.
Shows now this in Wallet > before the US in the end was my Country.
Code:
Oregon
Portland OR 97201 US
Also I did not use the Google Wallet app... Just the regular Google Wallet Setup in web. Or the Google play add credit card...
I would say his 2 step is unnecessary. Or you do not have to use the tunnel, hacked Google Wallet etc....
PS also there is another thing I changed to US https://accounts.google.com/b/0/EditUserInfo?hl=en but no idea if that had some effect
Do you guys still have your local mobile phone number on Google settings ?

Google Wallet Outside USA (IN PROGRESS)

This is a quick writeup of the progress I've made using google wallet in Canada. As of now, everything works except I get an error when I try to pay saying that google wallet does not yet allow international payments, but I have been able to bypass the activation screen and get everything else working as of now with a few easy steps.
1:
Make sure your device supports nfc and is on a 4.4.2 rom.
2:
Download a VPN like Tunnelbear or Hotspotshield to access a US proxy.
3:
Download Google Wallet from the play store
4:
Either go to App Ops on your phone, or install an App Ops from the market like App Ops X
5:
Disable location in App Ops for Google Wallet
6:
Try to sign into google wallet now with either your account, or you may have to create a new google account while using the us vpn.
7:
To signup a Canadian credit card for US google wallet use this guide provided from Unotelly for signing up for a Hulu Plus Trial
"To prove that the credit card is yours, just take your postal code and strip out all the letters and enter the numbers. You'll only get 3 numbers from your postal code (my three numbers are 706) and you can have any two numbers after those three - and it will satisfy the zip code validation. So, in my case any zip code from 70600 to 70699 will work with the credit card validation algorithm. This "back door" in VISA validation was created specifically for foreigners who find themselves in the US and get prompted for their billing address "zip code", but it works pretty much everywhere since it is the same code on VISAs computers that validates the card on Hulu as it does for the gas station.
But while 70600 will satisfy the VISA validation check (item #2), that zip code won't satisfy item #1 because it is not a valid ZIP code, there are no addresses in that zip code. So, I try Googling 70601. A few more searches on Google and I've located a PO Box that has the zip code 70601 and I use that address as my billing address. Now I can satisfy checks #1 and #2.
#1. The PO Box address is indeed within the given ZIP code (they probably check some USPS web service for this).
#2. The ZIP code matches the billing address on your Canadian credit card (due to the back door which was created to allow Canadians to pay-at-the-pump to fill up their rental)."
Now Google Wallet should be working, but we just need to find a way to allow payments outside of the USA. It isn't a great guide, but it is the msot progress I made towards google wallet in Canada. Would love your feedback and help!
