I have searched and search for a 4.4 verizon ota zip but I cant find any. Phone is bricked and had to make a new rom slot. Trying to get just a stock 4.4 zip installed or a stable 4.4.

There isn't one yet. Might be within the next week or so since the M just got a full FXZ image for 4.4 released. But, do NOT use the M's image to flash. You will perma-brick your phone for good and there is no way to recover from it.

Currently my phone is on 4.1.2 bonestock ROM with [VRBMF1] and I believe the bootloader is unlocked. I've been out of the loop for so long that I dont know what the best way to get to 4.3 is while keeping my root and bootloader unlocked. Any help is appreciated!

First, a caveat: Android 4.4 was just released for our phones a couple days ago, so you may want to wait a little while and see if any ROMs based on it come out. As of right now, there isn't a rooted version available, so 4.3 is your only option.
If you're on Bonestock, your bootloader is in fact unlocked. You can flash any of the 4.3 ROMs you find in the Android Development section. You should update your recovery first, I use TWRP version 2.6.3.0, the newest version is 2.7.1.0.
You should also flash the newer modem for the phone, VRUCML1, first, you can find that here under the Modems folder: http://d-h.st/users/invisiblek/?fld_id=35604#files. Only do that if you are actually going to update to a 4.3 ROM. Then you can flash any ROM you like: CleanROM 8.2 would be my pick, there's also Alliance and MOAR.

Thank bud, this is exactly what I needed!
Hi,
I have been trying to update my phone to 4.4.3 but not very successful so far. I'm using custom Android HD ROM 7.0 by Mike. I tried flashing stock recovery then applying the OTA update that I found in this thread. However, my phone stays 4.4.2 after flashed. I am using T-mobile on a Verizon phone and don't get any OTA notification either, so I was trying to flash it manually. Help!

The OTA will only succeed if your phone has pure stock. The OTA is not a full ROM but a patch system that builds upon previous content already on the phone. If you want to take the OTA, you must flash full stock first.
I just bought my nexus 5 and it's rooted with a custom ROM. Will I still get the update? I have a backup of the stock ROM but not the stock recovery. Do I need to restore my backup and wait for the update? Thanks.
If you want the ota, go back to stock. Or wait a few days and flash lollipop from your custom recovery I once a Dev packages it up. Or fastboot flash it as soon as available.
Depends on how patient you can be and how technical you are prepared to be.
I will be editing far the system image and fast boot flashing myself.
I think you have to be on stock ROM with the stock recovery to get the 5.0 ota.
IMO you can wait for the factory images from Google and flash them directly rather then flash stock ROM and recovery now and wait for the ota, because OTA will hit later then the factory images.

U could have asked that in the lollipop thread...
No u will need stock recovery to flash ota.....
Also i would strictly advice u to either flash pure kitkat image...or lollipop image .... That would prevent most of the bugs u encounter wid userdata...

If you're going to live in the rooted world, you should learn to do things properly. OTA is the worst way of managing a rooted phone, which is why I said OTA is super-noob. If someone is reliant on OTA updates, they probably should not be rooted in the first place.

See above
There are also dedicated OTA threads as well as dedicated Lollipop threads. Nor does this belong in General.
This thread has all of the OTA info you could imagine.

As mentioned above. We have a dedicated OTA thread.

I get this message when I try to flash the new CM12 snapshot on my HTC One M8, SlimROM 4.4.4, with TWRP v.2.8.1.0. When I tried it, I actually had to use an RUU on my phone to get it working again. How do I fix this (not the broken phone, I fixed that).
I've looked into similar threads, and one says I need to update my TWRP, but I can't, because anything above TWRP 2.8.1 doesn't work on KitKat 4.4.4, and I have no idea how I would update my phone past that, since that's what I'm trying to do...

I'm not so sure this is true. IF there's a point at which twrp is too new to flash a kit Kat Rom then you probably don't have to go back much further than 2.6 or so. If you're looking to get to a newer Rom then I would greatly recommend flashing the 5.0.1 ruu from dottat (to make sure you're on the latest official firmware) and then flashing the latest twrp followed by any one of the great lollipop roms out there.
Hello,
I have a rooted Verizon HTC One M8 running on Android 4.4.2. I do not have the stock recovery and for some reason I am unable to flash CWM, so I am stuck with TWRP. I keep receiving notifications that Lollipop is available to install, but it fails each time I try to install it because I am rooted. How can I unroot and get back to my stock ROM so that I can install the update?
No need to update via OTA. Just follow the instructions here and you'll be on rooted 5.0.1 stock

Questions
Thank you for the reply. Are you 100% sure this is compatible/will work with my phone? If I flash the ROM and it doesn't work, can I simply flash a backup image I made to recover? And when I flash the ROM, will I lose all the data on my phone? Also, where may I download my stock recovery? I searched all over the internet and couldn't find one for the Verizon version of the HTC One M8.
Thank you
That RUU is a complete stock firmware package, including the recovery. Read the OP.
But if you're just looking for the stock recovery you can find it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=52017763
That alone won't let you take the OTA though. If you modified your stock rom the OTA will fail.
You can find a complete stock rom elsewhere here on XDA, but why the trouble if you have it all in one neat package with the RUU?
Thank you very much for the help and useful information.
Sorry to bother you with all the questions but I have one more. How do I make a backup of my stock recovery? Say I went out and bought a new phone, how would I backup that stock recovery?
