[Q] Improve performance - Samsung Galaxy S II Plus

Is it anything I could do to improve the performance of my phone? I'm getting really tired of it being so slow. Any apps or mods that you recommend? Tell me please.
Thanks in advance

Thank you, it worked to flash it, but I haven't noticed any differences yet.
Any suggestions of kernels? To start of with, I don't know what a kernel is.
I have android JB 4.2.2 I9105PXXUBMG8

Kernel is heard of android. U can try this kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2615010
flash it correct, follow instructions and no problems. And after that i think u should reflash that performance mod. Good luck

First I flashed moshkernel 1.8.5 stock and cleared cache part, it didn't work since I forgot the dalvik. So I took my sd, put it in to my Galaxy note 10.1 and downloaded other kernel, removed sd, put it back in the GT-I1905P Then I re-did it but with 1.8.6 and cleared both cache this time,

I was having problems getting the file to copy to /system/media. i discovered that when using root explorer you need to click "mount r/w". you can then copy the file. delete the old one, reboot, and enjoy. Thats what i did, hope this helps anyone having issues.

The apps rely on the Sony Framework too, I've tried to run them in AOKP and I got Force closes, Either way I'm in love with the Album, Messaging and the way widgets are managed, maybe I Would have kept the launcher if the Menu option did what it was meant to lol.

1st off...wow...u aren't such a rocket scientist if u just flashed anything that was posted without knowing all details.lol. But it's ok. I'll help u so u don't form a thread instead of searching for solution. If your phone is bootlooping & If you didn't make a nandroid backup before flashing this theme then You need to download flashtool then flash a stock firmware for xperia play. If u want to use this theme u need unlocked bootloader to flash a "custom" ICS Rom in CWM as there is no "official Play ICS(4.0.x) firmware to flash with flashtool, only GB FW's. To remove DoomKernel or any other non-stock kernel u just flash the firmware(.ftf file) and u have the kernel inside. Or use fastboot to flash a stock one appropriate for your present FW.Go look this up u will find it everywhere.

System rom size

I have Ics from nordic rom and after the flash with Odin I had 528mb of system rom. Today I have restored from cwm my system partition and now I have 619mb of system rom. Why?
this discussion has happened in ardatdat ICS kernel post last month Check this, I think the reason is still unknown. but in both cases it doesn't affect phone's performance.

Thank you. I had read this post but I thought that the difference between 528 and 619 is due to different ics version.
I think now flashing by cwm I have always 619mb and flashing by odin I have always 528 but I don't know why.

I have opened a new thread because this is a generic issue not related a specific rom and I think talking about this issue in Ardatdat is not the right thing.
It is not a problem of extra applications. As I have wrotten I have nordic ics and I have only restored system backup of my nordic ics rom. Any rom flashed.

Yes we Already knew this thing and already discussed several times abt space of Stock rom and the backup installed fr CMW. Also, abt the Ardatdat thread, above coutes said in his thread we have discussed so, this is nt related to that bt have been discussed b4. Also, if u see the particular Stock Rom has few extra application by there service provider like 3 hutchison provide lots of extra apps. So, there is the issue of apps in partitioned space allocated.

I knew buddy, jst have a look what i said. Total space is reduced due to system partition of diff region.
Jst like we have already 628Mb for indian region and in other hand, 538 for other contries. Which is already been discussed when we got ICS through the user Machram.

You should just have to restore your nandroid backup and every thing should be as before you flashed the mod. Just a side note I think this mod is for ics not 4.1.

You can restore nandroid backup! If you don't have nandroid backup so you can flash aurora 4.1 again without any wipe.

No Android 4.1. He means "Aurora 4.1" as version of ROM "4.1". Aurora is ICS ROM 4.0.4 based on AOSP for huawei u8800!

What 2nd-init?
2nd-init allows us to boot our custom init scripts which wasn't a easy job on a locked booloader.

Click to collapse
Locked bootloader? Now what the heck is it?
Motorola usually locks its phones bootloader which in simple language means it doesn't allow customization. Here is where 2nd-init comes to play, this little awesome app kicks in right after the Bootloader and allows the XT to load a different, non-Stock Android.
With this, you can also install a Custom Recovery, which runs from the Internal Memory, and is not ran from the Recovery Partition (remember: locked, not accessible) what does this means? That even screwing up your phone, deleting all your stuff, or screwing /system partition the phone can still get into Recovery, be recognized by RSD Lite in Bootloader Mode and be flashed with a Stock ROM and it will come back to live normally.
Thanks to this locked Bootloader, is really, really hard to Brick your XT.

First ICJ V3, then getting 2.6.53.11-perf stable, then cyanogenmod.
But I need some donations to buy new PC, my old one is dead. Or you've to wait for atleast a year.

It is possible to have custom kernel with 2nd-boot. But I don't have time to look at the sources and compile a kernel. Sorry neither I have a PC to do so.
