I use Expert v4 for a week now and i can tell you that i am amazed. It is so smooth and stable with good battery life. And i forgot to mention, it is 4.2.2 cm 10.1. Search on google for it.

Bump....looking for the same and leanign towards Expert V4.
I'm currently using FusionX which is very stable but 4.1.1 and not the best battery life plus sluggish performance even though I'm not doing any gaming or anything on it.

Now i am using slimrom 4.4.3. It is very stable and great battery life. 2 days with normal use. Try it. Fast and smooth.
Sent from my Ascend Y300 using Tapatalk
^ I'll try that. For the ExpertV4, I tried unsuccessfully to install it from the zip file in TWRP. It said MD5 check failed or something.
Also, where are the instructions for installing SlimKat from Modaco?
I guess installing SlimKat is done the same way but it's not working and I think it's because my TWRP is 2.5. I tried updating with GooManager but it doesn't work for the y300 as it says no update found so how would I install the recovery image of TWRP on the phone without using an app?
Hmmm installed SlimKat and I get no phone signal and the mobile network can't be searched (I'm on some carribean island atm). Installed Expert V4 and it worked fine afterwards but it can't register on a mobile network in slimkat so no actual phone.
Found this post about cm12 for y300: http://www.modaco.com/topic/374484-romy300502-cyanogenmod-12
I'm using it for a few days now, it's more stable then cm11.

Looking for the most perfect ROM for my Y300! I've tried CM 11 and Tesla OS, but both ****ed up the phone (freezes, slow, lagging, etc.).
any update ?
Latest ones are SlimKat 9.1 (Android 4.4.4), Resurection Remix 5.5.8 (Android 5.1.1) and CM13 (Android 6.0.1) for Y300.
Some experiments with SlimKat 9.1 -> mega.nz
- Original device tree by chil360, with zRAM from 48MB to 128MB
- SlimRoms sourcecode for branch kk4.4-caf, with updated AOSP branch from android-4.4.4_r2 to android-4.4.4_r2.0.1
- added apps Kernel Adiutor, Total cmd, Xposed installer (sdk19, working)
1 - built SlimKat 9.1 CAF with display-legacy project: flash done, booting do something, but blackscreen.
2 - overwrite build with display-caf project files (/libs/... and /libs/hw/...): display works, ROM is just fine!
3 - add 160MB swap file with apps2sd + 128MB zRAM, ROM are not laggy! Hardware works fine, just no HW+ decoder in MX player, HW and SW decoder work.
4 - Flash ROM and than flash OpenGapps, wipe cache and dalvik-cache, reboot, ROM have lagging!
5 - Flash ROM and than flash microG (vanila installer), wipe both, reboot, ROM have minimal lag.
6 - Flash ROM with integrated, odexed OGapps, reboot, ROM have minimal lag - Yes! Bingo!
7 - Overclocked CPU kernel does not work on Y300 (u8833), but it should work on G510 (u8951), if not, flash u8833 kernel or non-OC kernel, with zRAM128.
8 - Since SK9.1 use chil360's kernel branch lp5.1, the same used in SlimLP by chil360, it is nice, it has intelliplug
9 - OK, lets try newer kernel: kernel branch mm6.0, used in Slim6 by chil360, alright let's repack boot.img;
SlimKat 9.1 boots with Slim6 kernel zImage, RIL works, WiFi works, Camera DO NOT WORK and major problem:
both internal and external SD can not be mounted after many trying (slim6 vold, vld, setting, mount, remount...).
Although you can manually mount 2nd SD partition (ext3/ext4), ROM with Slim6 kernel is useless.
10 - So, test SlimKat 9.1 with OGapps, it is good, fast rom. I had test games like Make Hexa, Dead Ringer - Fear Yourself and they work fine!

MOTIVATION
Welcome in the official thread of the project. This post is made to let discover you why this project is born. We are two universitary students that want more about a new branch of th IT Area, the Embedded OS Porting. We have a particular device, the HUAWEI IDEOS U8150, so our port is in this direction.
So don't ask to us why we are porting this version of Android with this device, because this project starts for educate ourself to the porting of Android OS, in particular we are oriented to port CyanogenMod ver 9. We made research to define a good porting for this device, so all the support ,moral, technical and economic(we need more RAM and CPU frequency) is really appreciated. We are also thinking to port, after this ROM Porting, the MIUI v4.
We work to create a stable ROM that could enjoy all great people that have this device. We think that newest releases of Android could run on this kind of mid-low level devices, so we make all the possible to complete this work.

Hey, tried it out, works great on my T-Mobile Comet. No SIM card, so don't know how it does on the network, but yeah, it's usable, thanks for this!
Is there a way to get haptic feedback on the soft buttons?
May want to put on the first page how to install ICS gapps.
For some reason, Gapps won't work.

Hi ,
I am facing these bugs in CM 7.2 which are ruining my cyanogenmod experience
1. Rebooting on incoming calls or sometimes even during a call
2. No ring tone for incoming calls .
3. Mobile data doesn't enable sometimes . Requires a switch on and off of wireless connections.
4. Occasionally hanging after screen locks.
5. The launcher widgets at the bottom of the home screen disappear often .
Is there any patch for this or can anybody suggest me a better GB ROM that meets these basic requirements .
It'll probably help if you specified the exact ROM you're using, the kernel, any mods or tweaks you're using, whether you use a2sd, and whether you overclock. I'm using the latest CM7.2 unofficial nightly by FitAmp and I don't have any of the stuff you mentioned.

Thanks for the reply . I was using the CM 7.2 official i.e cm-7.2.0-p500 . Can't tell you exact kernel as i am currently on stock . Also i was using app2sd but i never overclocked . Just to mention i used Old BB fix as i have not changed my baseband yet. Apart from this i had not tweaked anything .

Is that the stable branch, or the nightly? In any case, it sounds like you got a bum copy of the ROM or an error while flashing. Try reflashing (or redownloading and then reflashing). FWIW, I'm using the latest unofficial nightly by FitAmp (check in the Original Android Development forum), with Mounts2sd (from Play Store) as my a2sd script, and DJnoXD's 2.5.8 kernel. It's also overclocked to 710. That setup has been super stable for me.

[ROM] KarbonKat v1.2-3 (5/1/15) [Carbon/CM11][4.4.4-r2]
This ROM was put together after the maintainers of CarbonDev moved on from this phone as it was no longer building successfully with the standard build process for CarbonROMs. The amazing work they'd done had made everyone want this ROM working on this phone as it was fast, stable and had the latest features from AOSP code. They did an amazing job so I used the base code, added the pure CyanogenMod device trees and started posting this ROM from then on. Unfortunately my build server was behind a firewall so it couldnt' be part of the Carbon build system hence why this ROM was born. So the kudos for this ROM has to go to the original developers at Carbon, CyanogenMod and of course AOKP plus a little snippet from PAC-Man to get the latest build stable and working!
The original ROM is on this thread: CarbonRom JB
It uses HBoot 2.18.0000, has SimplePIE, OmniSwitch, CarbonFibres, PowerSaver mode, Performance tweaks, built-in root, themer support, Daydream, Apollo music player and it's fast!
Without further ado here's the ROM plus source location, Gapps to use and firmware to use:

Firmware is the BIOS for the phone essentially.
I just thought I'd let you know latest version of the ROM has been running smooth for 2-3 days now. I only had one reboot and I forgot to catch the last_kmsg. But otherwise it's been great
Subjectively this is the fastest ROM I've ever run on this device, no reboots thus far. Only bug is bluetooth audio stuttering/speeding up or slowing down occasionally but that is a bug in all AOSP roms at this point. Thanks!

Right after your phone rebooted you open an app called terminal emulator (that's the one I use) and type the following lines
su
cat /process/last_kmsg > /mnt/sdcard/last_kmsg
Then you're gonna have a file called last_kmsg on the sdcard
What Kernel do you recommend to use?
sometimes I can check my WiFi connections cuz never open the wifi options, I have to reboot my device to connect and see the options
Everything mess up since I installed that firmware, omg.

Yes, I did, but I dont know what happened that wifi setting doesnt work, it works sometimes and later I have to reboot my device more than 3 times.
i always have to reenter the password for my wifi whenever my battery dies completely. not really a big issue to me but i haven't noticed that on any other roms before. incredibly stable otherwise.

Hi,
I think it's an ongoing bit that's being developed in the qcom code as there have been quite a few changes there recently. Have you tried resetting screen lock as a way to work around it? Is pocket mode enabled?

Latest version posted! Seems nice and stable and works with Torched 5...
Hi everyone, so, i JUST got a New G3 2 days ago, and i have it unlocked, there is just too many Roms and they are not really sorted to know which is optimized best for what. tho i have the 2Gb Variant, it does noticeably lag in the UI and general use, and that's worrying me because the phone is still brand new, i only have TWO apps installed (whatsapp & instagram) and when i open whatsapp for example, i just see a white screen for like 3 seconds before it opens, instagram also works fine for like 3 min, but if i just scroll down too far a while, it starts lagging horribly then force close, i had 5.1 LP, then upgraded to MM 6.0, it was even slower and worse battery, so i downgraded back to 5.1, so i want to get a custom Rom but a light Rom to help with performance best than anything else.
thanks in advance.
Try Cyanogenmod 13 first. It's the "barebones" experience if you couple it with Opengapps Pico or Nano. That's what I use on my 1Gb variant and it works splendidly. The battery usage can be minimized with some apps like Amplify and Greenify. (Look for "Extreme battery guide" on XDA, there's a really good guide there)
Try Krexus-CAF it's lightweight and fast

FYI... Almost all of our ROMs are based on CM because there is no other working device tree. Even the "AOSP" roms are CM at their core on this device.

Not disagreeing with you... But there are no roms for the G3 or Turbo that are not borrowing the rom core from CM, except modified stock roms. They may say "AOSP" but the core is borrowed from CM and everything else is built on top of it.
Personally, I would love to see Purity, Chroma, or Plain-Andy make it to our device, but knowing they would still have an underlying CM base is almost insulting.

So I've been using the SultanOS CM based rom on my OPO and I really want to switch to a 7.1 based version of Android.
A few questions I have are:
1. Are the nightly builds ready and daily driver material like CM was and like SultainOS is?
2. Does it come pre-rooted or not? I personally prefer no Root to be added to the ROM itself so things like Google Pay and certain games I play work no problem.
All other 7.1 roms came pre-rooted so I ended up not using them (tried un-rooting them too but it didn't work since it was hardwired into the OS)

1. Yes, i'm using LineageOS with Boeffla Kernel and i never got any problem. I'm using ressurection remix before i switch to LinOS. So far so good. It lacks of customization but it's the best 7.1.1 i've ever use. The battery performance is great also. Before i sleep, i leave my phone 100% (With wifi, sync on, with instagram snapchat whatsapp twitter and line apps). I wake up with 97% battery.
2. I think it's not pre-rooted. If you want root, you need to download SU Addon in https://download.lineageos.org/extras and then flash it via recovery. Download the ARM version, not x86 nor ARM64
