I've used several that automatically record both sides, of every phone call. Really confused as to why you think this is the only one that works? (Would list the ones that work, but think it would be easier to list the one that DIDN'T work.... Will edit when i find the name)

Excuse me both call recording on m8 not working well without distortion in sound....so we Still need help to solve that problem....http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=51845810

Call Recorder
Call Recorder works perfectly fine, Even better than on my old HTC One m7.
Have not done anything other than unlock bootloader, custom recovery and install Viperone rom.
Really missed this feature on my phone (had the lumia 1020 for a month) so glad I got the M8 now.
George

For me Automatic Call Recorder works best, but ONLY with the call recording support feature enabled and the noise suppression feature enabled in the Xposed MOD, Xtended Settings. Without that enabled, I just get that stupid obnoxious static issue...It's most likely audio clipping...or peaking - whichever you wanna call it. So, yeah my advice is to NOT use any kind of in-call volume boosters or anything like that, as that'll only worsen the static issue.
So, with these settings, I'm getting perfectly crystal clear call recording now on my HTC ONE M8.

HTC One M8 Android 4.4, no root needed, almost all recorders can record calls well in two directions.
HTC One M8 Android 5.0, without root all recorders can only record your voice, the caller's voice can't be recorded, except this one: HTC One M8 Android 5.0 Call Recorder. This is the only solution in the world that record calls in two directions without root.

Jit Call Recorder also works on Htc One M8 with Lollipop

Recording phone conversations - bug or a feature?

If during a phone call you start camera and start recording video, it will record audio of you and the person you are talking too. (tested it with wired headset)
Last time I've asked about a way record phone calls, I've been told it's impossible on android devices...
So is this a bug or a feature in ICS?
I would say it's a bug for the camera not checking that the phone is using the microphone/audio.
Android devices can record calls, sometimes you need a new kernel, sometimes just an app.

Anybody, please?
I'm also interested in this feature.
Do you have root? I'd recommend trying Call Recorder by Skvalex and seeing if that works. It's the best app for this, and he's usually supportive of getting these devices to work.
This is his app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.skvalex.callrecorder&hl=en
Anybody pls?
Can someone check it out please?

I would definitely help if I had the device. Surely someone will come along and spare 5mins of their time testing this out as this is a requirement for many people.
On the same boat. I had Sanity working on SGS2 (Sprint) and it worked perfectly. However, on Nexus 5 it says "Sanity failed to start recording". I tried all the different recording modes.
This is a very important feature for me so I hope someone comes along and figures it out for all of us.
Thank you in advance.
Here is where you need to go to follow an active thread about call recording for various different phones. I've seen the Nexus 5 come up several times in that thread. It won't be long and there will be a solution.

I have just installed this to my rooted N5 and it works very well... clear, proper line recording...

Well worth it to spend a bit to support the dev too, so buy the not-free one after verifying the free one works on your device.
Mark.

I confirm that this is properly doing line recording :good: (vs. mic recording ) on my rooted N5. 30 days trial. Then it is €7/$10 I believe...
LGE didn't disable the call recording feature of Nexus 5 Android 4.4, so the phone can records calls, no root needed, almost all recorders work well.
I'm afraid Nexus 5 Android 5.0 is a different situation. We checked the "Android 5.0 Preview release", it disabled the call recording feature, no recorder works without root. Even after rooting the phone it's hard to find a recorder that works well, because SELinux prevents recorders to "fix recording problems". Recorder developers are improving their apps. Hope there is a good solution at the end.
Of course, several days later, maybe the "Android 5.0 Final release" enables the call recording feature, therefore all recorders work without root.

hard to say. The call recorder I have used for years works for me on L, with fewer modifications than on KK. Yes it needs root, and to use root, don't we need to set SELinux to permissive in boot.img anyway?

Yes, of course. If SELinux is set to permissive everything is OK.

I installed the latest version from store yesterday (7.4 GP) for my rooted N5. Settings chosen were as below:
- Record Mode: 1 or 5
- Tune Special: No
- Change Audio Controls: Yes
- Change Audio Driver: No
It worked but the voice of other person is not clear, its very shrieky. My voice is clear though. Is that a known issue and do we have a solution for that?
Thanks.

Other Nexus 5 users reported the settings worked well.
If you enable the "Tune Special" option does it have any change? If the problem is still there please click the "Call Settings - Fix Recording Issues - Ask New Parameters" item in Boldbeast Recorder to send hardware log files to us, let us have a look at them. Thanks.

2 way call recording on non rooted Nexus 5 is disabled by the manufacturer.
There is no way to overcome this without rooting and the "best" workaround would be to turn the speaker on when recording calls.
For rooted Nexus 5 devices, many recording apps will enable 2 way call recording.
You can try our Jit Call Recorder app.
It was developed on various devices including rooted Nexus 5 and it records both sides of the call, including calls made with Bluetooth connected.
This is a fully functional version of the app limited only by the amount of displayed recordings and the ability to delete recordings. If you find it suitable, you can purchase a license in a small price of ~ 1$.
On my rooted Nexus 5 it does not work. I have tried all the recording methods (mic, audio in, etc)

Any progress on this? I still can't find a single app that can record calls using any option within any app.
I'm using ACR now, so far is fine, but sometimes cannot record either of party voice, but over 90% of records are OK.

Working Call Recorder FOUND!
Call Recorder by Skvalex works 100% of the time for incoming and outgoing calls and uses the line (not the speaker) for recording. I have tried numerous call recording applications, but this is the only one that works for the Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G (SGH-T699). This will require root.
1) Install https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.skvalex.callrecorder (costs $10, or test it first using the time-limited trial from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21317161)
2) In the application, click the Menu button, go to Settings > Recording > Device menu, select the Qualcomm MSM8960 chipset.
In the future, our phone's model may be put in this list for convenience, but choosing the chipset is anyway functionally equivalent.
3) Select CAF as the "Recording Method". (This option requires root)
4) Disable the "Delay before start recording" for Incoming and Outgoing calls.
4) Enjoy.

Best App to Record Calls?

Hi, I've tried using many apps but they don't seem to be good at recording the person on the other end of the line.
The app I'm currently using is https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.globaleffect.callrecord&hl=en
In the recordings I can only hear my self speaking perfectly, not the person on the other line.
Are there any apps that record both people perfectly?

I use Call Recorder by Skvortsov. It works great for me, but your phone has to be rooted. I have tried several others but this the only one that worked. If your phone isn't rooted then there aren't any apps that work with the nexus5. Hope this helps.
I'm on lollipop. If I root it will it cause me issues receiving updates in the future?

I've been using https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appstar.callrecorder&hl=en It doesn't feature any particularly elegant design, but it has worked reliably for me every time. I don't think there's any recorder that will be "good" at recording the party at the other end -- but this does catch them and, if you pump the volume a bit, they're clear enough. This one is also free.
Best call recorder
The call recorder I spoke about in an earlier thread does great at recording both sides of the conversation. There are several settings for it. The phone can either record all conversations or you can have it ask you after every call whether you want to save or delete. It is really an excellent app. I've been using call recorder apps for my last two android phones. My last one was a Note 1. The problem is Google did something to Kit Kat that doesn't allow these apps to work properly without rooting the phone. I wish they would correct this problem. The main reason I root my phone is for the call recorder. I need it for business.
You will still get updates if you root the phone, but you will lose root on major updates. There are ways not to lose root on the lesser updates like small fixes to problems in the software. But you will lose it on the major updates. I haven't updated for KitKat to Lollipop yet because a some of the apps I use a lot don't seem to be working with the update. I'll wait until it gets fixed.

this is a great question
Last time I checked, Pie disables the ability to record your conversations using the earpiece and microphone but still works using the speakerphone. I record my conversations as well using the S9 Plus on Oreo. When I upgraded to pie, the recording stopped. So I had to downgrade and find another solution to have the latest software and the abilityto record. Another way to record using the earpiece and microphone audio source is through unlocking your phone so I heard. I couldn't unlock my S9 Plus as it's the Snapdragon variant can't be unlocked for who knows what reason since it is my phone.
The play store updated its policy as of March 2019, forbids apps to record/gather the caller ID. This could be corrected by installing a version of the app before the policy took effect
Does the built in screen recorder capture call audio, I wonder... ?

I tried Cube CR ... It works a bit, but mostly it doesn't record when a BT headset is connected ...
I think Skvalex also has the same problem.
Do you confirm enabled the native call recorder?
Is the ADB procedure the same as OP6T?
The OOS Magisk module works like a charm (GM1913 Op7Pro). Simply install, reboot, enable auto record in stock dialer app and done :good:
(Edit: only tested the phone earpiece/mic, no Bluetooth or other ways tested).
