[Q] HDR+ Patch for CM Based Roms? - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm running a CM based ROM with included gapps and miss taking HDR+ photos. I'm aware that flashing gapps packages including Google camera is an option but I'm not interested in flashing gapps over an optimized gapps package. Is there a patch/zip with just HDR+ I can flash to enable HDR+ camera mode?
Thanks in advance folks.

You can make it yourself. Get one of the hopes packages you mentioned and delete the stuff that's not the camera.

Hi,
@JustinOkay, you can try the "Google Camera compatibility fix": http://slimroms.net/index.php/news/455-new-google-camera-and-compatibility.

If you use the slim gapps (not the compatibility fix mentioned - although I'm not aware of any reason why you shouldn't) it contains slim aosp camera. Now although the slim camera itself doesn't have hdr+, it does allow you then to update to the latest camera from play

This is exactly what I was looking for! Thanks so much I really appreciate it!
Quick question. The zip is only 12MB why doe I get the "Android is Upgrading" dialogue for 59 apps instead of just 1 or 2 for the camera app?

[Q]How could use HDR+ as stock 4.4.2 in OMNI or CM11?

I tried http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2012857 but still no HDR+ in camera
And I copied the apks and libs from the stock ROM including---
app/GalleryGoogle.apk
app/GoogleCamera.apk
framework/com.google.android.camera2.jar
lib/libgcam.so
lib/libgcam_swig_jni.so
lib/libjni_eglfence.so
lib/libjni_filtershow_filters.so
lib/libjni_mosaic.so
lib/liblightcycle.so
lib/libnativehelper_compat.so
Wipe the dalvik cache, reboot --- not work..
So how could I got the HDR+ Mode in OMNI or CM11? Thanks a lot.
try flash this.. worked for me

It should be.
Coming from an HTC, I've always felt like stock had the best quality, but that's probably due to a ROM direct from HTC, where as Nexus is just straight AOSP, so the quality should be perfectly fine.

Google Camera App + Cyanogenmod11

Okay so by now everyone here should know that Google just released its Google Camera app on Play Store (gosh I guess I won't see Nexus 10 mk2 afterall)
But I have a big problem with it. I have Nexus 5 Cyanogenmod11 snapshot m5 and camera crashes on launching HDR+ every single time. I had similar problem app pulled from stock nexus 5 (can be found everywhere on the net) - it acted the same although that one needed app data wipe to even launch again. Is cyanogen missing some libraries for camera or something like that?
How can I make it work?
Is there a way to see a detailed crash log and fix the problem?
Anyone envountered similar issue?

Google camera force close fix

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone had the camera fix for force close when switching to HDR I had the zip file somewhere and flashed a ROM and can't remember where I had it can someone help

Fix
Try disabling Google services or freeze it using titanium backup and then open the camera app. This worked for me.
Do you mean the addon released by slimroms?

Can anybody please advise the specific fix within latest gapps that pertains to this in order not to have to install full gapps?

PA google camera and HDR+

Has anyone tried to use PA gapps (google camera) and got HDR+ working? I just love what the N5 can do with HDR+

If I'm not mistaken, HDR+ is exclusive to the Nexus 5.

Even if you use the PA gapps for google camera, on PA? I didn't want to clutter the PA thread.

I'll go ahead and flash the PA Gapps camera module and let you know if it works
UPDATE: I tried to flash the PA Gapps camera module and it failed to install because it said was incompatible with my device.

id consider 2 camera apps "stock", the google camera and the aosp camera. the google cam used to be like the aosp camera, but with photosphere. all you have to do is grab an older apk and install it, making sure that the new google camera nor aosp camera is installed.
---------- Post added at 08:51 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:24 PM ----------
ok, i figured it out for you.. make sure that you dont have a google camera nor aosp camera installed, or in /system/app/ nor /data/app/, then flash this in recovery http://goo.gl/orWkC0 if, for some reason you boot up without the camera, go to /system/app/ then push on the camera apk and install it. i tried, it works.
Still don't understand the problem with the one from play store. That's the proper one Nowadays. That's even how stock users use photosphere now.

lol, yea. but to each their own. id actually like to keep this one and the new google camera. 99% of the time i use the aosp camera, but it doesnt have photosphere, so ill use the new google camera for that.
