I'm interested in flashing the Sabsa Prime rom, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1839004 , but there are currently reported issues with the camera not working correctly. It's said (by the dev himself) that you can change the current camera apk with a previous one but I'm not exactly sure how to do this. I already have the camera.apk from the earlier version that works great, can I just extract the current rom and replace the camera.apk with the working one and rezip it as a .zip file and flash it? Or would I need to do something else to make it flashable or a different step all together? Thanks!
That sounds about right. Just keep the originals in case there are additional steps. Flash and test.
However, using that other cam apk, if it's the one I'm thinking, not sure if it's allowed. For personal use without re-distributing it, maybe but not quite sure.
Sent from a dream.
Unzip replace and rezip. I do this with all roms I use. There are apks I like to add and delete as well as system audios and bootani. You can alter the rom to your liking just remember not all apks work for a rom in other words you can not use sense apks on a aokp rom for example. And second if you do alter a rom you can not ask the Dev for help if something goes wrong with it, you altered it. With that said alter at your own risk and enjoy the learning.

This is the new gallery of android 4.2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1965895
Don't flash it. you must put the apk and files lib in system (app and lib) change permissions in rw-r-r.
The camera works fine the photosphere is laggy.

Try it, it should work on ICS but if not definetly JB unless the DPI difference creates some problem because I think that android gallery from Nexus 4 which is xhdpi
I installed gallery with camera of android 4.2 . gallery works fine and camera to but in sphere mode in camera we get incompitable error for support that can be solved by changing build.prop but still not able to take sphere photograph due to some missing lib. gallery works fine but get force close when you use sphere button in gallery.

I can't try it now but in the version on android police photos sphere should work.
this is what you can read on android police :
Note: Original credit goes to XDA and AndroidCentral Forums but the download below contains a camera/gallery build that we patched to allow users of non-Nexus devices to capture and view Photo Spheres.
I' m sorry but I can't post the link for download because it' s an external link
I flashed the gallery (android police) 3 time but in the menu there aren't the new gallery and the new camera, there are only the old ones.
Then I fleshed the version on xda but the situation is the same. Any solution ?
It worked for me.....I flashed it but no luck..then I opened the zip and put the apps in their right places....then I rebooted and I saw 2 camera and two gallery apps....Using root uninstaller delete the old gallery...then you're free to use 4.2 gallery and camera..Don't forget...after placing the apps put their proper permissions ( rw-r-r )

When I tried pushing it via Solid Explorer it said "invalid CRC" for all the files.
Tried flashing through recovery, no success.
How did you do that?
I tried them on both CM10A3 by dhiru and RemICS-JB.

I push the googlegallery apk in system app, then i change permission in rw-r-r and owner in root- root. then reboot the device.
For me the gallery and camera work the only thing that doesn't work is photosphere
Now everything works! I pushed both apks into system/app, then pushed all the lib files into system/lib, changed all their permissions and then rebooted. Optional to delete old Gallery2.apk. Everything now works.
Note: photosphere lags. The blue dot moves at a per second basis. Will only take the first picture and lag big time, and gallery would force close afterwards.

Wow it is wonderfull and of the most delight design.
I used the .zip by androidpolice but figure out that the apk and libs were send to the wrong folder...
So following comment's advices I extract the zip and put the 2 apk in /system/app and the libs in /system/lib without forgetting to change permission as the other base apks and lib so: RW-R-R (all of this using solid explorer).
I also deleted gallery2 which suck^^.
So far this version of gallery is so SEXY and CLEVER, wow now the interface is very tiny and let a lot of space for taking pictures, etc..
The video mode work also good, maybe better than previous gallery on CM10-alpha3 Paranoidandroid rom.
I never expected something of photosphere, it launch but can't be used.
There is a possibility to retouch pictures, sweet!
The interface is neet, you have to see screenshots, just for that I recommend gallery 4.2.
One little point: no possibility to take pictures with menu button.(ok very small point)
Big problemanorama doesn't work for me, am I the only one or did I do a mistake?
For me, panorama works fine! The camera is so damn smooth :good: dhiru should implement it instantly if he released another JB 4.1- Build!!

Ok so thanks, I used http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1965895 link for 4.2 camera from xda instead of androidpolice's one and by doing exactly what I said earlier I'm happy that everything working smooth!
I was also able to took 2 pictures in sphereview ^^.
Ho and yes the panorama mode works.
Edit: the spheremod is working, I was able to take pictures, generate a file and then watch it in "3D"
Nevertheless for photosphere, pictures could only be taken following a vertical axe and I had to rotate a lot my arm so the result of my test is terrible: I had with a living room a composition of a door+ the ceiling+ another wall.
So the 2 remains problem with photosphere are that it is too slow, I mean to go to another blue point you have to move a lot and that you could only do it following one axe.
Edit2: The gyroscope seems to be the problem as said here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1965895.

Try reflashing your ROM if you can only go into recovery?
1. Extract the files from zip
2. Copy the GoogleGallery.apk and GmsCore.apk and paste into system/app, change permission to rw-r--r--
3. Copy the lib files (total 3) and paste into system/lib, change permission to rw-r--r--
4. Reboot.
5. Check the camera app and gallery if they're working.
That's what I did to make it work in CM10A3 and RemICS-JB, and also JellyBam.

Hey, thx for advice, but this solution don't work. I did it so, I install titanium backup, I did backup gallery file and uninstall gallery. Next I extract and rename file (like original gallery2.apk) and I go to system/app and copy files (googlegallery.apk and gmscore.apk) with change permissions. Now reboot and everything works fine. I have only one camera and gallery in menu. I change with this solution default desk clock and again work fine.
Hi guys!
Do I am the only one who's angry about the update 4.1.2? After I've updated my device (N8010) the S Note App doesn't have the fullscreen button!
So i'm not able to hide the bars on the top and the bottom. After hours of trying to extract the S Note from the previous firmware and replace the S Note application in the current firmware without any succsess i decided to write you, hoping there is someone who can help me.
Is there someone who can tell me how to get the "old" S Note app into the 4.1.2 firmware?

Search the app has been posted .
probably in Apps .

The new S- Note is great in that it allows you to Zoom, without having to re enable touch access mode.
But the trade off appears to be terrible palm detection.
It will keep misinterpreting the palm resting on the screen as an attempt to zoom.
There's really no need for full screen anymore. The old version of S-Note needed fullscreen because the toolbars at the top and bottom would actually obscure part of the page. The update lets you scroll all the way to the top without the toolbars obscuring available space.
I like it.
But your still missing out on a lot of writing space because of the toolbar buttons Staying there even when you don't need them .

Wouldn't be there need for full screen, there wouldn't be so many people around the world searching for it! Except this, your answer isn't helpfully. If you are okey with loosing about 30% (!) of wrtitingspace because of the bars ate the top and the bottom it's your choice, but me and a lot of other users around the world aren't!

The next question is, how to get it run?! I mean fact is, that it doesn't work if i just install the apk like another, because it has to be a system-app. Anyone an idea?¨
I would assume you would do it through root explorer or flash from recovery to your system/app folder

Hi Guys,
I found this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1925720
here you can get all the firmwares deodexed and i think this may be the best way to solve our problem.
thank you very much klau1 for the link to the "old" SNote.apk's but the question ist: Are they deodexed? If not, i think it woulden't run.
My idea is the following:
download the deodexed version of the firmware you like
install CWM, if you don't have it
unpack the Zip-file of the deodexed firmware, go to system/app delete de Snote.apk
put the "old" SNote.apk into the system/app folder
repack the edited zip-folder
copy it to your n8010
reboot into the recovery-mode, install the zip
The problems i have are the following:
1. what about the lib-file in the system/lib folder? (i looks like, that it essentialy to run SNote.apk)
2. where to get the "old" lib-file?
3. how do i repack the zip-folder? ( i tried to zip it with 7-Zip as usually but it doesn't work to install on CWM)

You do not extract the rom but open it and delete apps add or modify then close and flash .
My suggestion would be to download a custom rom with the relevant SNote extract what you want and exchange them for the same files in a JB rom .
jje
Thank you very much!
I'll try it and give feedback.
Edit: It doesn't work! After Intsalling the Zip-File, there is a popup which says: "S Note angehalten" (S Note stopped)
Anyone an idea?!

I use only dark background pics so thats I made it white transparent.
About dial tone you need to change touch_ripple.ogg from SecContacts_Phone_OSup.apk
You can do it simple with Zip or Rar. No need to decompile (I think).

Just a question, what is the method for reverting back to Echoe Rom v23 default dialer with full image? I have yours now which I really prefer, but I would like to toggle back just to compare the difference. Than you.
Just extract LegacyInCallUI.apk from your ROM's zip and replace in phone with correct permissions.

Thank you man.. Yours is by far the better option. I can't see how anyone can use the convoluted stock dialer.
THIS IS TOUCHWIZ LOLLIPOP ONLY (earlier versions i do not guarantee it will work but you are very welcome to try)
FOR THE I9500 AND I9505 ADVISED (other models you can try but there is no guarantee)
IMPORTANT NOTE: DO YOUR BACKUP now that you can!. For this method i tried it on a SAMSUNG TOUCHWIZ LOLLIPOP ROM FOR THE I9500 so i do not know AND I DO NOT TAKE RESPONSABILITY if your device gets bricked or if you are on CM or if Apocalypse wakes up. Please use root explorer since the tutorial is adapted to it or use another explorer if you know very well how to use it. That being clarified, lets begin:
The files needed for this tutorial are attached on a zip (DO NOT FLASH IT!) unzip it on your pc or on you mobile
I am using Magma Rom which does not come with Air Wake up gesture, i was able to get it working doing the following (please follow steps carefully):
-First of all you will need to copy these folders 1.AirMotionTryActually and 2.AirWakeUp on System/App and set the folder permissions to rwxr-xr-r". Then, open AirMotionTryActually and you will see the apk, change the apk permission to rw-r-r- and do the same with AirWakeUp.
-Look for GestureService and GlanceView folders under the same path system/app and replace the apks inside the folders with the ones i provide and set the apk permissions to rw-r-r-.
-Now we will put files in system/lib and we wil set their permisions to rw-r-r-. The files are
*libsensorhub.so
*libsensorhubcontext.so
*libsensorhubservice.so
*libsensorservice.so
*libSensoryBargeInEngine.so
*libSensoryUDTSIDEngine.so
*libSensoryWakeUpEngine.so
-Last but not least, we will copy the folder wakeupdata to System and we will set permissions to rwxr-xr-r and also check the option to set on all sub-folders and files (this will select the option underneath by default DO NOT CHANGE IT), click ok
-Reboot! Then look for Air Wake Up on settings>accesibility>dexterity and interaction and turn it on. Enjoy
I hope i can help and you can use the gesture on you rom :fingers-crossed:

Nice Work!
I'm on a t mobile note 3 running a 5.0 custom rom. The note 3 and s4 are similar platforms so I gave this a try as I had lost air wakeup on one of my flashes. This works very well and better than the native wakeup gesture. Some of the libs and all the system/wakeup data was there already but I just put in the missing pieces and it works like a charm. Great job.
Works with LL Imperium Rom v15.0.
Any negative changes in the interface and the work is not found.
Thank you!
Excuse my ignorance, but what this port is actually doing? Can you give an exampe? I put it on 9505 5.01 stock and I have no error. I activated the function, but... now what?
This works because magma rom is based on stock, if you're using an s6/n5 port or aosp logically it wouldn't work
