The post above is, indeed, for 4.4.2 radios but those radios were extracted from a Moto X file - not MAXX. I'm wondering if the radios in the recent MAXX soak test are the same as in the above post or slightly newer.
BTW, I'm running the 4.4.2 radios from the above threat - works great, but I did not have any issues to begin with - so I dont know if they really improve anything or not.

So I just got this phone and it already has the latest OTA update. Is there a root for this yet? If so, direct me to it as I see links for only the previous version.

If you got the latest OTA update on your phone already, there currently is no root for that version yet. The latest OTA update made downgrading to ICS undoable. So, if you're on the newest OTA, you'll pretty much have to sit tight until it's possible to root on Jelly Bean itself.

I too am on the lookout for a root method for version 926. Seems like the Razr Maxx Hd had even more bloatware than the prior Razr Maxx.

Yea... I had a Razr Maxx and used Titanium Backup to remove lots of it. Looking forward to doing the same thing with Razr Maxx Hd
I also used Titanium Backup to freeze all of the bloatware. I took it a step further and created a filter and labels for frequntly used apps that eat up system resources and data. For example, I would unfreeze as needed Google Play store and Maps etc., then refreeze. I saw a huge increase in battery life etc.
Anywho... hopefully a root method is on its way soon.

Hopefully? Iord I've been praying for it and even trying to pay for it lol. I was so focused on getting the 4.1.2 update that I rushed it and found out a day or few later as other people got it that you can't even downgrade to previous versions (son of a Bi***....) so I seriously regret taking the update as now we are on a long waiting list that may never come...

Anybody else getting constant 3 times a day pushing to update. Towelroot last week and install native tether last week now pushes.
No push here. Download and catch that OTA, then post it here for us all.
Btw, it's still 4.4.2 but it has 4.4.4 security fixes, but that's it. No other 4.4.4 features, so it's not 4.4.4.

Okay, you have got me thoroughly confused now. Please answer the following questions:
Your xt1080 is running stock, correct?
Is your XT926 getting the constant OTA pushes?
Is your XT926 bootloader locked or unlocked (helps with the next question)?
What is on your XT926 currently (stock or custom ROM)?
If custom ROM, what is it?
If you are running a custom ROM on your XT926, and that's what's getting the OTA pushes, then the only way I could see this happening is if it's a stock-based ROM with the stock XT926 kernel. If it's an AOSP-based ROM (like CM10/CM11, etc) that's running a custom kernel, then I don't see how you would be getting the OTA push notifications. However, if your bootloader is locked, then you won't be able to run non-stock-based ROMs like CM10/CM11.
Not sure why you threw in the XT1080 as that has caused serious confusion, hence all the questions. You didn't tick off the forum, you just confused us thoroughly.

Since 4.4 4G LTE WOULD GO TO 3G THEN TURN OFF. NOW ITS STAYS ON IN 4.4.4 UNTIL I TURN ON PANDORA OR USE THE INTERNET.

Yeah. Sorry to say that neither of those are possible. Maybe one day we'll get bl unlocked but there is no way to downgrade from 4.4.4. Each phone has a unique partition that gets changed and over written when you upgrade to 4.4.4 and with out it, older versions just bootloop.

Good morning,
I have an XT1028 running on Verizon Prepaid; I've had it on continuous service for over a year now through VZW. Prior to updating it past 4.4.2, I unlocked my bootloader via SunShine and recently updated to the CDMA build of CM12.1 by Meticulus.
I'd love the option to take advantage of some Lollipop-based kernels like Attacked, but they appear to require the Lollipop bootloader to function correctly. Is it possible for me to update my bootloader and retain my unlock for an XT1028? Or, alternatively, given that my phone has been on VZW for a year, if my phone were re-locked by a bootloader update, has anyone had any luck or experience receiving a bootloader unlock directly through Verizon? I've heard anecdotes of Verizon's policy of unlocking after six months or one year, but never actually found anything where XT1028 users have successfully done this.
Thanks!
From what I've heard and experienced, upgrading bootloader will not relock it in the process - held true for my own RAZR M. The problem is whether you have the 5.0 bootloader files / OTA at hand...

Thanks for the quick reply. As far as I am aware, there is a flashable zip to update a CDMA bootloader to lollipop 41.19, although it is designed for Boost so it requires reflashing the radio to get it to work for Verizon. I may give it a shot after a bit more research, as the only thing left before I'm fully satisfied with 5.1 is potentially a more battery-efficient kernel.

I have the flashable zip and have the 5.0 BL on my own Boost G. It's hard to say whether the Boost one is compatible with Verizon's, because the BL upgrade process touches 5 partitions, and there is a possibility that one of them may be different between the 2 variants.
You should give it a shot. I have no desktop or I would

I'm wondering what the downside, other than the obvious(creating a paperweight), would be on flashing the Boost software on a XT1028 on 4.4.4. Would it just fail and remain the same, or if not could one back out by flashing the Verizon 4.4.4 firmware.

That'd be my guess as well, I'm just trying to ascertain the probability of creating a paperweight(a nice one though). If it fails on the outset, the probability is low.

What's holding me back right how is determining if there's a pathway back in case something goes badly. I see three outcomes(ordered good to bad): everything works and I'm on Boost mobile, it refuses to do anything, and it messes up. I want to be prepared for the last possibility. I seen horror stories about downgrading, and I want to minimize that possibility.
