I just upgraded my Verizon USB aircard from the UML290 to the UML295, which does not require the VZAccess Manager to be installed. When I plugged it into the USB port on the keyboard dock, I received a popup about configuring a new Ethernet port. I clicked through the settings and VIOLA, I had Internet access through the aircard. When I tested the speed with it connected to my Wndows 7 laptop, I was getting 10Mb down and 8mb up. When it is in the TF700T, I get 40mb down and 10mb up.

Could someone be kind enough to explain to me how to set up/enable USB tethering from my rooted Droid Incredible (running CM7) to my rooted Xoom (HC 3.1, kernel 1.4.2, wireless only).
I made a USB host cable following this thread >http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1068197
When I type : "Cd /dev/block" then "ls" on my Xoom terminal I can see "sda" for phone and "sda1" for my USB flash drive. And my phone recognizes the USB connection to my Xoom.
But when I type "busybox mount /dev/block/sda1/mnt/usbotg" on Xoom, the response is > "mount: can't read '/etc/fstab' : No such file or directory"
And while I can enable USB tethering on my phone, my Xoom doesn't recognize it (of course). My phone is also charging from the Xoom.
What can I do next to try to get this working?
Thanks, in advance.
I am also very interested in this. I have made my own USB host cable that I know is working (keyboard, mouse, etc. all work great) and I have a 4G USB dongle.
This dongle works in a fully hostless mode, meaning it does not need any drivers to run. I simply need the Xoom to recognize the ethernet over USB connection.
The dongle powers up and connects to the network, the Xoom just does not see or make use of the connection.
If I can make this work it will simply be awesome, getting 4G on my WiFi only Xoom before the 3G Xoom gets it ;-)
I use this USB host cable and it works great. Have tested it with my 750gb Oyen and 320gb WD Passport external HDD's, several usb flash drives (8-16gb), San disk USB memory card reader, and a USB keyboard.
For those having issues getting their Xoom to recognize USB storage devices here's what I've got and did to get it to work: I flashed my XOOM (3.1) to the 2.6.36.4 Tiamat_Xoom-v1.4.4-Full_Throttle Kernel and was unable to get the USBMount to recognize drives or storage at first.
I installed USB Mass Storage Watcher from the market (it's free) and it works awesome! Can mount any storage I want (NTFS, FAT16/32, HFS, HFS+, EXT2, ETX3, EXT4) with any capacity. I think this app will work with any rooted Xoom (or other devices). Under my Kernel my USB host is located under/usbOTG.
Hope this helps.
How do I get USB tethering to work on this phone? On my last phone, the LG Optimus all I had to to was plug it in, enable USB tether and network manager would do the rest. With the SK4G despite actually having USB tether enabled by default on the stock ROM, it has never worked. Not on Windows, not on Ubuntu and not on OSX despite T-Mobile stating that tethering is supported on all three.
I had to install the Samsung Keis drivers for my phone

Two reasons,
1. Your 3g Dongle is not supported.
2. You have to edit the PPP settings with;
a. APN
b. username
c. password
For Example, I will use my data provider-
a. APN = internet.beeline.ru
b. username = beeline
c. password = beeline
Yours will be different, so check with your internet provider for your dongle.

I have a UG802 and would like to connect it via a wired connection for better speed than what I get with wireless. I have a USB/ethernet adapter, but ethernet is not detected when I plug it in, even though the ethernet light is on on the adapter. I tried manually switching on ethernet in the settings, but the switch just slides back to "off" after a second, presumably because it is not detecting the network. Any ideas?
Thanks
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? I tried another USB/Ethernet dongle, same result. I have no idea if there is a "right one" or not or how to find it if there is a "right one."

Turn off wifi
if it a pre built system and you just installed windows there should be a mb driver cd that have the Ethernet drivers on it. if not you have to go to your mb vendor web page or the ethernet vendor web page and download the drivers if there not installed yet.
I am attempting to USB tether Internet access to a desktop with a fresh install of Windows 8 Pro. The process works flawlessly on my laptop, which already has WiFi Internet access and is running up-to-date Windows 8.1. There is no software or updates installed on the PC, aside from that which comes with Windows 8 Pro. Windows Defender/Firewall are disabled.
The PC does not recognize anything stored on the GS3, whether set as MTP, PTP, or neither, making it difficult to attempt transferring drivers. I have a UWF-1 wireless LAN adapter meant for Onkyo receivers, but it shows up as "UB93" with an exclamation mark in Device Manager. I've located potential drivers for the adapter, but I'm unable to transfer them from my laptop to the PC without the PC recognizing files stored on the GS3.
I have a single DVD-R I could use to transfer, but as it is the only method of transfer I have available, and I have single disc, I want to load it up with all potential fixes I can come up with before burning.
Any suggestions to get either USB tethering or the wireless LAN adapter functioning? or getting the PC to recognize files stored on the GS3?
