Hey guys! Right now I am using multirom with Stock and the latest Paranoid Android beta both with Franco's Kernel. Neither seem to be giving me good enough battery Life only about 2 and half hours on screen time. Any suggestions on what ROM+Kernel combos I should use or tweaks to make it better? Thanks for the help!

battery life is dependent on how you personally use your phone, how you personally set it up, what apps you chose to install, and very much depends on the data/phone signal quality that you get. everything else is minor when it comes to battery. on any rom and kernel, someone could get great battery life, while someone else will get terrible battery life.

Thanks for the info man! I understand that...I always have good signal and don't have almost any apps besides the stock ones. I added Facebook twitter and that's about all. It just seems like with that I should be getting much better battery life as far as screen on time.

yup.
and using auto for screen brightness will lower your battery life, by as much as 1 hour screen on time. set your screen at about 20-30% manually.

well, your wifi is taking a little more battery than normal, and google play services is also draining more battery than it should. also, you need to go to the phones main settings, wifi, then into wifi settings(three dots on the bottom right), advanced, and disable scanning always available. if you can see, when your screen is off, scanning always available is keeping your device awake instead of letting it sleep normally. and, if your router isnt that great, it can also cause more battery draining when connected to wifi with your phone. about google play services, thats happening to many these past 2 weeks. i used an app called disable service to disable any location services that google play services uses, as the normal way doesnt stop google play services from using location.

the device itself is about 10 day old. so can't pinpoint exactly
Seems to be a strange issue. Maybe you should give it some time. If it is not getting any better you should consider rooting and install a better battery app
You could try a factory reset

Battery drain app might give you some ideas, I'm averaging 0.85% hour with location and google now on
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.WazaBe.android.BatteryDrain
There are threads and a bug report with Motorola regarding this. It seems sometimes once GPS is used the battery continues to drain at 1-3% per hour until you reboot.
It may not be the issue in your case but it looks likely as the drain you see when the phone is not awake looks very similar to the problem.
If it drains in airplane mode and the phone shows as never awake then its the same problem.
For now don't use GPS or if you do then reboot directly after.

If you are getting the weird drain issue that seems to be related to GPS then maybe best to use battery saving. Depends his bad you need GPS though. So up to you really.
battery drain around 2.5 % /hr . Basically havent been using phone after 82%

stock alarm app, no. but you do have a lot of wakelocks. when the screen is shown off, your device should be asleep. your device shows a lot of activity when your screens off(ironically, not when the supposed battery drain happened though, so i cant say thats why it drained).
Do you have the horrid camera bug?
Do you use exchange at all? I've had a lot of phones (android mostly htc and iphones) hit bugs from exchange in push mode and burn through their battery really quickly constantly trying to sync and hitting an error.
I charge mine on my dresser next to my head, and also use it as an alarm, I'd recommend charging it over night

I'm guessing this http://www.androidcentral.com/googl...cpu-usage-bug-fix-coming-next-android-release
I found it by googling "Nexus 5 horrid camera bug" lol, first link
Stock apps have no such issue as till date.Except for apps that use internet /wifi consume a lot of battery. So switch of those frst or keep ur cell on flight mode. The battery consumption may be due to gplay service, account sync, gmaps etc. I don't own a nexus device but I have experienced this kind of behaviour with my phone sometimes with a hot back cover sometimes.Try using apps like greenify to control this prob(or switch of ur network @ night/use lower cpu values + governers like powersave/conservative)

battery life is not dependent on what you flash. there is no such thing as a magic pill to flash to automatically give you good battery life. battery life is dependent on how you personally use your phone, how you personally set up your phone, what apps you chose to install, and very much depending on the quality of your phone/data connection.
...you bought and manually installed a new battery on your recently bought N5 before finding out what apps were causing the drain? Yikes. But yeah try better battery stats or wakelock detector to see what apps are draining it.
Mine's been off the charger for 29 hours so far and I still have 37% left. Depends how you use it. A good signal helps.

your battery life seems pretty average, not bad and not great. youll get about 3.5 hours screen on time total. sure, you can play with your settings/set up some to try to get it a little better. but, depending on your data/phone connection(quality of), you might not get much better(or you can get it much better).
You can also try going into your location settings and ticking the "Battery saving" mode.
I can confirm that data/phone connection quality has a huge impact.
At work my office is on the second of five floors with its windows faced to a very narrow court. So there is almost no connection and often the phone is switching between 2G, 3G and 4G all the time. If additionally the screen is on very often (due to messages, mails, etc.) the battery usually doesn't last longer than 5 to 6 hours.
A dutch guy . So am I.

K...just for one day do the following. ....start at 100 percent too.
Turn off location services. Turn off Google now. In the Google settings app, go into android device manager and uncheck both items. Turn off sync. Uninstall or freeze Facebook app and fitness app your screen shot listed. Freeze Google plus as well, if you're rooted. If not....sign out of it, or turn its sync off at least. Use browser for Facebook and google plus for the day.
Don't play ANY games.
Also, see how your signal strength is. If you are losing signal completely ....that will destroy your battery.
Do these things and see how your battery is. If its much better, then you can try turning things back on....one thing per day. And when your battery gets bad again....you know its the last thing you turned on.
See how it goes.

i also use the privacy guard to disable everything.
No changes.
only 3-4 hours of SOT. dont listen to music longer than an hour a day and dont use it regularily.
standby also sucks ass when i enable mobile internet.
Are you turning off the "keep awake" flag also for those apps? For example Snapchat doesn't need to be kept awake past it's notification period. Do the same for the rest of the app. And put gps to device only mode or toggle when needed off when you don't need it?

haha yes, we are indeed in the same boat! sometimes the battery life is great, i just had 5hrs yesterday.
The newest blisspop + boeffla kernel (only use a custom kernel to set the MIN cores to 2 while listening to music, it gets rid of audio stutter etc.)
what i also found out is, if you enable the privacy guard settings, they only work for real after a whole battery cycle, that means, after most likely a reboot.
just do your settings, set location to battery save / device only and you should be fine.

anyway, do you also have the sound bugs when listening to music while the device is in standby / locked?
Hello everyone, I was recently inrroduced to the world of rooting, modding and installing custom roms and kernels to the device so I may sound like a noob here and there . I have a issue with my one plus six running stable oos 9.0.2 where I think I habe have high battery drainage, there are people who claim that their op6 lasts a whole day at one charge but I being a heavy user have to charge it up to 3 times a day. I have currently rooted my op6 with magisk installed and the list of mods is attached below, also the bbs stats are attached too along with all the necessary information, I am currently on the Ex kerenel Manager and have the battery settings turned on along with advanced optimization. Also I am using the lawnchair launcher v2 with pixel 3 live wallpapers coupled with the mod provided for aod . Can anyone tell me what should i remove to make my battery life more optimal or if my battery is fine.
So 10.2% in one hour, while playing pubg. Seems normal.

Have you also tried to disable the second Sim?
The pixel live wallpaper will do a number on battery.
Two Sims, live wallpaper and aod. You problem is right in front of you.
The AOD will suck quite a bit of battery, for me during the day i get around 2/3% par hour of standby. My graph looked like yours at first.
But, try putting it in you pocket when you don't need to have it on a table, etc. With OOS 9.0.2 and Franco Kernel, i get 0.42% per hour of standby while phone is face down during the night and thus AOD disables.
I'm not even trying to maximize battery, have Facebook, Messenger, Instagram and other apps running, Wifi + LTE, location disabled, with a fresh install of latest OOS stable and Franco Kernel r13 without tweaking anything :good: And i also use the Pixel 3 wallpapers, wich by the way look amazing used with the AOD.
Screenshots for illustration.
The OnePlus is not designed for Always on Display, but even with that, it definitely shouldn't be empty in 6 hours. But with heavy gaming, I believe the phone life tested at about 5 hours. You should see what it looks like when you don't game.
I get about 8 to 10 hours Screen on Time with with browsing, facebook, and casual use. I have 1 Sim, no live wallpapers, no Magisk modules. I also disabled the Ambient Display on lifting phone. (I probably did a few other small optimizations, but can't remember)

Also while using Franco kernel do you have any problems with the brightness, I can't seem to disable low brightness while using the manager. My idle standby is too damn high thought averaging 2-3% even with the aod off. I think I mighy now consider a clean format.

Okay, I tried disabling everything off and was able to get upto 7 hours SoT with high browsing and playing videos but still wasn't satisfied as I also have the xXx rom installed with fsync diabled and stuff such as touchboost disabled and still I am only averaging out.

I'm just using OOS 9.0.2, OnePlus icon pack and stock launcher, everything stock !
Location services seem to use quite a bit of juice yes, saw very good results while disabling them.
Yeah I saw this brightness thing in the Franco app, but looks like it doesn't do anything, or it's a bug. I flashed blu.spark and the brightness is exactly the same ! I wouldn't pay attention
Idle standby on my end is 0.5%/h with Franco and Blu.Spark. So it's definitely ROM/setup related ! A clean flash should solve it !
Try Servicely from Franco to revoke WakeLock authorization for apps, I feel like it helps a ton with social apps too !

Do you use WhatsApp or snapchat by any chance? Both of those butcher battery life from my experience.

Yes, I do use WhatsApp, although i havr Snapchat installed, i don't use it on a daily basis.
hey guys I have huge battery drain issues and I can't figure it out. I am using a second sim, but I need that second sim (is there a way to disanle it, so that i can get phone calls?)
Did a clean flash yesterday, hoping things get better, but nothing. my phone used 14% in 6.5 hours . BBS shows me Net_scheduler, I tried somethings there too but no success.
what could else be the problem?

Considering you just said 14% in 6.5 hours of idle drain, it is a bit high though. Have you any mod installed or have Aod by chance, also how long does the net scheduler work? Also do check the summary for if the phone goes into the state of doze or deep sleep, id it does the problem might be with kernel wakelocks, i tried disabling the wakelocks as per the boeffla wakelock and ffs I can notice differences.

yeah, I get about 2-2.5%/hour on idle.
I should mention my setup, sorry:
OOS OB7
XxX installed, with disabled kernel tweaks
blu_spark kernel, but had also smurf no difference
I flashed a debloater from Tomatot (thought it might help)
no aod
Well, my phone is awake(screen off) quite a lot, but not too much, saw some others with insane battery life (not expecting that) with similar Awake time.
Sorry to ask this noob question, I am fairly new to this.
In BBS I see repeatatly net_scheduler , gcm, nlpcollectorwakelock, ddscardselectioncontroller.
Boeffla isn't it just for OP3-5T?. are there other settings I could change in tje kernel manager etc?
thanks a lot!!

Do you get that on Wi-Fi or also on mobile data? I get about 0.8-1%/h on Wi-Fi and up to 2%/h on LTE+ without music playback on OOS 9.0.2. i can tell you it's mostly an app that hides itself in the stats
E.g. Pokémon Go's adventure sync used GPS and datan regularly resulting in an awful 4%/h drain.
