Greetings from the sunny GREECE!!

No, no way. You can't just install a ROM from another phone and expect it to work.

In my opinion, there's no good custom ROM for our I8260. I'm using de-odex'ed STOCK.
Waiting for @vvaibhavv's KK ROM for our I8260.

Can you send me the link for this rom?
approximately how long we want this for the Rom?

You have to de-odex your ROM by yourself. There are lots of tutorials on the internet, not only on this forum.
vvaibhavv will make a KK ROM for our I8260 when he releases his ROM's build 3. I don't know when to expect for it, I think neither he does. We just have to wait.

These aren't custom ROM's, these are modded ROM's.
Just download the Kit-Cat ROM or the Monster$ ROM and download the latest i8260 from Sammobile: http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-I8260.
Extract the i8260 base ROM and the ROM you want to port to 2 different folders (port ROM & base ROM).
In the base ROM, remove these folders:
- app
- fonts
- framework
- media
Copy these folders from the port ROM to the base ROM:
- app
- fonts
- framework
- media
In the "etc"-folder of the base ROM, open the "permissions"-folder and copy all the files from the port ROM, to your base ROM folder, except platform and handheld_hardware. Then you open the "init.d"-folder in the base ROM and you delete everything, except for the "00banner"-file. Then you copy all the files inside the "init.d"-folder of the port ROM to the base ROM.
Now open the buid.prop file using Notepad++ and make changes to these lines in the base ROM as you wish:
Code:
ro.build.id=
ro.build.display.id=
ro.build.date=
ro.modversion=
ro.product.locale.language=
ro.product.locale.region=
Copy the "set_perm"-lines in META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script of the port ROM to the base ROM, after deleting the "set_perm"-lines in the base ROM's updater-script.
If you find any extra file or folder in the "system"-folder of port ROM, then copy them to your base ROM's "system"-folder.
The last step is to put the folders of base ROM into a zip.
Select META-INF, system, boot.img(if there is any) and data(if there is any).
Right-click and select: "add to archive."
Select "zip" and enter the name you wish, then click OK.
Now you're done, flash this zip using CWM.

I think he's referring to RC5 which is available in Odin format only
I always wanted to flash broodrom rc5 rev 2 but my com has problems. While flashing the ROM through odin for a long time, my com's display just shuts off and the whole system gets stuck. I've been repairing the com several times but same issue. So could you make broodrom rc5 into a cwm zip?

I think you can remove 2. (MIUI) from 4.1.x and 13. (also MIUI) from 4.0.4. They both don't work and were only in a WIP state. The 13th one won't be continued as we already have a stable version.

That's a good idea. But do it separately, e.g. in the second post.
Also, JB MIUI can stay here, but 13 in ICS is pointless I think as we already have a stable one.

Thank you, it's what I've been looking for! Just have one problem. Before I flashed this rom, I was on Repencis 3.5 Advanced with Merruk Kernel. I flashed it, and it went successfully. Just one problem, though. I still have Merruk Kernel, but I want to go back to stock. How do I do this? Do I have to flash a stock firmware with odin, and then flash this deodexed zip?

Reboot into CWM.
Format system, cache and data.
Wipe Dalvik Cache.
Mount all partitions.
Flash ROM.

Really nice thread, it's very useful. But can you make also an european stock rom deodexed, like XXLD5? Because in my country I had some problem with Asia's Firmware.
I tried to deodex them, but I failed (I don't know why)...
Thank you in advance

How do you made this port? There is an update for lewa os, and I want to make it work on this device.
And I made it! I ported the update using your rom as base using this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1623464 , except step 6 (no init.d folder) and at step 10 I just copy the build.prop from update.
Download link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3R0zQXWrzggX0N1ZzVORWFJMTA/edit?usp=sharing
Just install it over first version of lewa. This version is 13.08.23 .
good work...
