I love the design of this phone so I want the slimmest possible case I can find. Can anyone recommend a very slim case?
same as you, didn't really want to cover it up too much since the design is so nice. I went with this and I think it will be a good match. I have the white phone so I ordered the white case:
http://www.obostore.com/nillkin-ultra-slim-hard-shield-faceplate-for-htc-one-x-p-5711.html
lots of folks recommended this one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007X4XS3C/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00
I ordered it and it will be here Tuesday
You could get the official ones by HTC. They take minimalism to a whole new level bit the downside is its so expensive for a flimy piece of plastic. Or the feather cases by Incipio.

i ordered the black & gray ROCK cases and the case mate barely there case. the ROCK cases look nice but are definitely made for the International X. although they fit the One XL, the camera opening is about1-2 mm lower at the top. not a big issue for me at all. however, the case-mate fits perfectly and looks best! i like how the sides are angled for a perfect fit, e.g., fits the One XL's angled sides like a glove. the obvious downside is the limited protection, e.g., exposed top and bottom.
i sold both ROCK cases to a friend who has the International X and kept the case-mate. i added a couple of pics that (hopefully) show how slim and form-fitting the case-mate case is...
im going with the amzer tpu luxe arigle case had it with captivate and like it and did its job and looks good

Has anyone gotten one of these yet? Looks nice, I like the texture on the back. I've never heard of this site, reputable?
I got this Speck case from the AT&T store when I bought my phone. I hated it in 2 days. It's way too thick, makes the phone huge and heavy.

I haven't gotten it yet, but I did get a shipment email the next day, so it looks like they are on the ball. I'll post impressions when I get it, should be in a few days...

I liked the case for the whole 5 seconds it lasted me
Funny part is that I was planning on spray painting it black cos that case only comes in orange/blue. And while i was taking the case off it snapped on me. Good thing is AT&T warranties out accessories for a whole year. I have a feeling im going to be using that warranty a lot.
You get what you ask for looking for a slim case. They don't offer any protection at all. Which for me is fine. I just don't like how hot the phone gets without a case. I ended up getting the full body zagg.

i broke my orange version of this case too. if you like to swap out cases every other day (like me) this case may not be for you because you will eventually break it, no doubt about it. i've been luckier with my blue case as it hasn't snapped on me yet.
Just ordered an Amzer Shellster case found here:
http://www.amazon.com/Amzer-AMZ9380...PA1Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1338902558&sr=8-1
It's not the most "minimalist" case out there but it seems sturdy enough for repeated application and removal (which is important to me since I use multiple cases). It also comes with a holster, which most slim cases do not. It also looks like it offers great protection for the camera.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMdD2Q35_XA
I'll put up some pics and do a "mini-review" if anyone is interested.
So the case-mate barely there doesn't specify on amazon whether its for the international or att version. However I have heard that it fits ours just fine. Can anyone verify?
And also does it come with a screen protector?

Received my Amzer Shellster yesterday. I can confirm that it fits the AT&T version of the HOX.
Pros
Accurate Fit
Cutouts line up perfectly
Protects camera
Front lip keeps screen from touching when face down
Comes with a holster
Cons
Minamilistic case means it provides less protection than traditional cases
Does not cover top and bottom
Soft touch finish can be a little slippery
While the holster uses "pressure" to hold the phone it does not have an actual mechanism to secure it
Overall, the case is really nice for what it's meant to do. It is advertised as a slim case and it provides all the protection that it entails.
I have included some pics in the attachments showing the cutouts and fit, as well as the holster and front lip.
I got the case mate barely there. Overall I really like it, I wish it was a little thicker because the camera still sticks out a little.

Are you talking about this?
http://www.spigen.com/cell-phone/htc/one-x/htc-one-x-ultra-thin-air-series.html
"Will the Ultra Thin Air fit the AT&T version of the HTC One X?
We don't recommend the Ultra Thin Air with the AT&T version as this case was originally designed for the international version. The AT&T version of the phone is slightly longer. While the case my be compatible, it may not be a perfect fit."

Thanks for the pics and review. How long did shipping take? Your review should have its own thread, those photos and review is great.
Plus was it really only $14.99?

You're welcome . Shipping was pretty fast, I bought the one that is "sold and shipped" by Amazon. And yeah, I got it for $14.99.
First let me say I think this is the best overall case for the nexus 4 hands down and I ordered pretty much every other case off amazon. We would all love to use the nexus naked or with a bumper but we also know how fragile this phone is you probably break it or fear breaking it the whole time.
I say this case is the best for these reasons design, cost, and protection. First design, the main thing that stands out about this case it has hard edges when on case feels slick and firm. The whole case has a sparkle effect pretty cool. I absolutely love the white but the black is very nice also my gf loves it. The only flaw in design is probably the power and volume buttons are cut out and case does have a little thickness so can be hard to push buttons sometimes. This case does add to size but keeps nexus 4 shape exactly.
Cost was 5.21 plus 2 dollar shipping so that for me already puts it as number 1 since all others cost more. To me if you had to pick one case this would be it.
Protection to me cannot get any better than this. I don't know how but the case in your hand feels soft and bends like every other case but when on feels solid. Hard to put into words but I trust this case.
Now the only other cases that came close where the distronic (which is a little slimmer and buttons are not cut out. Also back is matte). I blazon was good to very similar to distronic minus the matte back. The mercury is just a tad thicker than these but you really don't feel it.
The other cases like the rearth to me is just a cheap piece of plastic not worth 10 bucks. There is a distronic hard shell that was pretty nice its like the rearth but done right. This would be my second choice if you really want ultra slim. Does not protect whole phone but good enough.
Here are some pics I took today this case is awesome. Comes in a ton of colors.

Kind of wished I bought a black one. The case is excellent.

Sweet the mercury pearl case is my all time fave on each phone I've owned that they make one for. I'm in for one. Does it push up on the screen protector and make it bubble?
Question, is the case a solid colour? or does it have sparkles/glitter like previous mercury tpu cases?
thanks

This one is not to thick but thicker than others on amazon just bit. But also this is the only one that keeps nexus 4 shape so it feels good in hand. Black is shiny not super though I suggest white as it has a gloss on it and does not get dirty. I'm two weeks on white still looks brand new and its been all over.
I'm not gonna lie I don't like the black but my gf does which good because I would not give her the white. All of them have a sparkle effect black shows it more.

There was some discrepancy between the shipping price on amazon vs the price stated on the Mercury storefront shipping information page. I emailed them about that and they quoted shipping for me in Ottawa at $7.35. They said they would refund me the $2.13 difference in shipping after the fact. :good: I know it's not too much, but it's good to know they're an honest customer-oriented company.

Would anyone with this case mind taking a picture of the micro-usb port area with the case on?
I have a bunch of 6 ft micro usb cables that I like to use because of the length. However, these cables have a lot of excess plastic around the connector so I'm just wondering if they'll be compatible or not.

If I'm the kind of guy who drops his phone like, once a week, should I guess this. Trying to searh for the best option since I just ordered a nexus 4.
I currently have a samsung S2X with a Trident Aegis case that I really liek for protection and such.
Also, still not sure if I will put a screen protector. Is the Nexus 4 screen tough anough not to? Not a fan of the "rubery" feeling they give but its better than a scratched screen.
Got mine. Here's my opinion. It makes the n4 more fatty. I'm not a fan of the strange edges, preferred the smoother more rounded edges on my s3 and iphone4 versions. It's very front lippy, it pushes my skinomi skin and causes it to wrinkle/ bubble/ peel.
Good protection. Excellent quality and material. Cut out perfect. Nice hold/ grip. Great colors.
Took it off and put my nillkin back on.

Did I receive the same case? The Mercury tpu case I got for my Nexus4 looks nice, does add a little bit more bulk than the Diztronic, but one giant problem. It is slippery as hell. The gloss on it is not a sticky gloss, but more of a smooth slippy gloss. It won't stick to any surfaces, and IMO actually makes the phone a little more slippery to hold than when it's bare, since the entire case is made of this stuff. The only time it will be grippy is if your hands are slightly moist or hot enough to leave a steamy fingerprint lol. Not only that, the cutouts make the buttons very hard to press (due to the thickness of the case and shallow-ness of the buttons). The power button is actually kind of ok if you use your fingertip, but it's very hard to press the volume button.
Diztronic tpu owns that crap, u mad bro
Hello all,
I've always only had the Otterbox Commuter as my one and only case for phones, and with them being so slow to get out the color I want for the S4, I was wondering if I should keep waiting for a bit longer or go with another choice like the Incipio DualPro or Seidio Active. I don't have any experience with either of them, so I'm wondering if anyone who has used them can shed some light (both good and bad) on them.
Thanks.

Incipio Dual Pro is horrible. Fitment is off and constantly slips on an end, exposing the screen with no lip coverage. Luckily it was free from the ATT store for me, but i wish i chose a different case from them. I ended up ordering a minimalist JL case from amazon anyway.

Consider having a look see at the Casemate Toughcase if you like the otterbox, its actually less bulky while providing better protection for the phone. I'm very surprised this case doesn't see more play here becuase its a truly good case and I get people asking my out of the blue what it is and where I purchased it. I've got probably a dozen friends on it now and I did nothing to convince them, they mauled and pawed at the case for a few and were sold. If you are of a mind you can quickly pull up a few reviews on youtube of the case.
I've been using the Seidio Active case for a few days now. I used a 10% off coupon I found searching Google and it came out to $31 shipped. I bought the one with the grooves for your fingers. Also has a kickstand. I pull out the kickstand when holding the phone and put my ring finger under the kickstand so I have a good hold of the phone and my thumb can reach more of the screen. Kickstand also comes in handy with the smart stay option so the screen won't turn off when I'm reading. It is easy to take on and off so I can get to the battery easily. All the proper cut outs are there and are lined up perfectly. Complaints - When typing or pushing the menu / back key my fat fingers will hit the edge of the case. I just have to work on using the tip of my thumb. Depending on the angle of the phone you may not be able to see the notification light. There are covers for the volume and power button which took some getting used to but I can now hit them without looking.

How well does that case work with a glass screen protector?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
I have the Incipio Dual Pro Carbon now as my temporary case. The rubber is constantly coming off from around the lip. You see the silver when this happens. Not a huge deal but in a drop it won't be that good. Also the silicone grabs a little bit of lint.
Seidio active... I have it on my Nexus 7 and had it on my Note 1.... Huge lint magnet, OLD OLD design, silicone can be warped and won't lay flat in some areas.
Otterbox Commuter.... I will order one of the colored models when available. Buttons were terrible on the S3 but it seems to have an improved design....Putting the case on seems to be better than the S3... Overalll good design.
I also ordered the Cygnett Workmate... It seems to cover the issues from the other case and offers better grip... I will know in a couple of weeks.

The edges of the case do come over the top of the device to the screen side but this is only the softer inner portion of the case and I'm thinking it would work fine but I do not use screen protectors so I'm not certain. You can see it pretty clearly in some of the youtube videos of the case so you should be able to make a call from that. A link is here ---> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7l3X7Oxgx5I and the same fellow reviews several others which might catch your interest as well.
I've included a couple pictures that show something you cant see there. The one is of my year old S3 case next to my brand new S4 case. Notice how the thing still looks new? The other seems like kind of an oddball picture but what you are looking at is the largest portion of the soft inner case and the thing to notice there is the lack of lint. While these do catch a tiny bit of lint it is very little as you can see there. I did not clean the case up, it went from my pocket to the drawer after my S4 got here.
On my S3 I have had my phone in that case directly alongside a friend who had his in a commuter case and we both agreed that this case felt better in the hand and it had a more premium feel. It also has better grip but does not hang in the pocket. He in fact is one of the people I know who ditched his case and got the Casemate instead. Now I've obviously not seen the Otterbox for the S4 yet but it appears much like the Casemate counterpart to be pretty much a rehash and I would expect that they will compare similarly again.

I bought mine (Dual Pro) at a TMob store. I totally disgaree regarding overlapping screen. It TOTALLY protects the screen via it's superb fit overlapping. Plus it has a nice "feel just holding it'. Used to have a Body Glovefor my S3. The bodyglove was on the thick side and it just didn't have the same tactile feeling when holding the phone. Mine is black with Grey...IOW two tone. Only saw it in a TMob store. Solid colors online from this link.

Man, that is some kind of funky back they have there. How does it feel? What is it?
And you said that Casemate offers better protection than the Commuter, any links to vids/proof to this? Cause if that's true, then that's a great deal. It looks like it is as bulky as the DualPro. Lastly, how are the colors with the Casemate? Got sick of all black, and that's why I've been looking elsewhere while waiting for the Commuter colors. Thanks.
Incipio DualPro
I purchased my Incipio DualPro from an AT&T store ($35 + tax) just to have something to protect the phone while I figure out what I really want as far as a case. I went in to get the cheapest thing they had but really liked the look of the fake carbon fiber which looks even better in person. But, the silicone layer is so loose and floppy that even with the stiff Plextonium frame:laugh:, it won't hold its shape leaving the bezel exposed where the fancy named frame isn't. This case had the makings of a winner.
Love this look:
Hate this:
Returned to AT&T store today!
The outer shell is plastic. It has the appearence of the knurling you see on a ratchet handle for example. In person it looks good and has a better feel than that of the Otterbox counterpart. The bulk of the case is about the same as the commuter, it is designed for protection and those who would avoid the Otterbox commuter for that reason would want to avoid it as well. That said it is slighly less bulky than its commuter counterpart because it is thinner.
As to protection there are no sure proofs, no 1000 phones dropped and here is the absolute numbers, test. You have to look at the case and make a judgement. The casemate clearly covers the corners better and has a better fit which combined with what are visibly better materials means you can pretty much figure your phone has a better chance than it does in the commuter. There is no sure thing. I had my S2 and then S3 both in the same case for those phones and while I haven't dropped the S4 yet I did have occasion to drop both of those several times and neither suffered a scratch although again no case will protect against bad luck.
In regards to the colors, I've no idea. I always go black so have never looked. Best bet might be to check the case out in a store. Its popular enough that I noticed our AT&T shop here had some on the shelf for S3s. Or if you have a case kiosk at the mall they will likely have one and you can check out the material yourself. Casemate has many other cases but I have no experience with them. I was Otterbox all the way till I ran into the toughcase which just plain out commuters the commuter at its own game. IMO
Looking at the dimensions of all the products, it looks like Casemate is the bulkiest, with Otterbox second, and Incipio DualPro the least bulkiest.
The one thing I'm not a fan of the Casemate from the pictures is that there seems to be more open exposed areas, especially at the top.
I ordered the Dual Pro case and have been waiting for it to come in.... I bought the Body Glove Dimensions case from the T-Mobile store just to have something on it until the Dual Pro case came in...The Dual Pro case looked really nice in the store but I want the white and gray one that they didn't have.. Now I'm hearing all the crappy reviews about the Dual Pro case and I'm having buyers remorse...Maybe I will get one from a good batch that will fit like a glove...UNLIKELY!!!! Anyway the Body Glove Dimensions case feels really good in my hand and looks nice however it doesn't protect anything just nice and slim.

Looking at the dimensions of all the products, it looks like Casemate is the bulkiest, with Otterbox second, and Incipio DualPro the least bulkiest.
The one thing I'm not a fan of the Casemate from the pictures is that there seems to be more open exposed areas, especially at the top.

Im not sure where you are getting your dimensions from but I can tell you from actually having both in my hand with the S3 the toughcase is slimmer. Since it appears that the Commuter is a reboot with a few minor changes just as the toughcase is for S4 I'm pretty sure you are going to see the same thing again. Also the only openings on the tough case are where the IR and headphone jacks are and the same applies on the bottom where there is no opening other than the two ports there. The Otterbox possesses exactly the same openings in their case and then unlike the otterbox the casemate piece does not have the wide open corners which are the single most likely spot for the phone to hit in a drop.
lol Sometimes you just cant let a favorite go, I do it myself. Either way you're getting a good case that stands a real chance of saving your overpriced ludicrously profitable for Samsung device so its all good. :good:

You do have to remember that those that have problems are usually the ones that take to online to complain, so just take all the amount of bad stuff with a grain of salt.

:silly: I think on the corners, they both go about it differently, Otterbox has the silicone there, and casemate has both, with the plastic outside. Bet they both have their own science reasons for doing it that way lol.
I'll wait it out a little while longer before deciding. I think my biggest concern about the casemate is that I won't like how the textured back feels.

Mine does exactly this.
I just saw that UAG (urban armor gear) is going to start shipping their cases soon.... might have to look into them now :/
Never had a one piece polycarbonate silicone case before.
I have been using this case for almost a week now and i must say at first it felt bulky, and Yes thats coming from someone with a Note 4. Also its hard to use the Hear Rate monitor but it does work, just needs a little playing around with. In all I got use to the size of the case and now don't even notice it. Its got an awesome design, the Protection i want and is in my budget. Cost only $17 USD which is not bad at all. The case also features a kickstand which I think I already broke... its still works though. You can watch my review on it below if you like.
UPDATE: Its been a week and the case has grown on me but now I seen something else that makes me feel like the Tough Armour is not the best there is.

Hi, I just got my Note 4 and am searching for "the best case" Untill now I was thinking about buying the tough armor..... then I saw your post! What does make you feel this wouldn't be the beste case there is. Is there anything bad about it that you have experienced? I haven't seen the case in real yet, since there is no store in Germany where we can buy it.... we can just order it online and the cheapest price is $27,50 (converted). So about $10 more than in the US. Which case would you recommend more than that?
Appreciate any info. Cheers!
its not too bad, but the flush buttons are SUPER annoying
I have this case. I'm still getting used to the buttons, but I love it in general. The only thing missing IMO would be a holster clip that fit this case with the glass facing inwards. I probably wouldn't even use it for the holster part so much as keeping this badboy sealed up tight when I'm not using it.
Spigen kickstands are a joke, cheap pieces of crap that fall off way too easily. Case might be fine but why include a POS flimsy kickstand?

I switched from this to the Otterbox Symmetry. The otter just seems more protective for some reason.
I just picked up this case. Like it. Sure seems like it will protect the phone for sure. The flush buttons are good for design, but can be tough to find sometimes if you're not looking too close. Fits nice though. I tried an S View case as well as an LED Flip Wallet and hated flipping the front over and behind to use the phone. Like this much better overall.
Just saw this pop up on Amazon so I ordered a smoked grey one.
I loved ringke cases on all my nexus phones. Very good quality. I have the Samsung flip cover case, generic hard plastic case from eBay, and the Incipio dualshine pro case. I prefer the wallet case right now. The hard plastic case from eBay fits great and keeps the phone super slow and sleek but provides almost no protection.
The Incipio is a tad bulky since it's dual layer protection.
I'll let u all know how the ringke is.
Here's the link.

I went through two already the bottom left corner of both of them were warped. It fit and felt good everywhere except the bottom left ...good luck with yours.
My bottom left is warped also.. other than that case is good

Mine's expected to arrive on the 1st. Never used this company before but seems pretty slim so shouldn't add too much bulk. I don't drop my phones...seriously! My concern is scratching while sliding on a hard surface.
Do you have a picture of what it looks like and also what the warp
Floss did a review on it and he liked it. I just ordered it from Amazon. Be here by Dec. 2

This Ringke case is nowhere near as good as the similar model cryatal case I have for my note 4, as you can see it only has a 3.5 star rating on Amazon. It has a feel of a $3.99 case. But right now there are only a few cases to chose from, so what can we do.
Really like the ringke
Here it is with full screen protector on
Decent case
I received my case on Saturday and I am pleasantly suprised with it. I needed a case because the UAG case I ordered has been put on back-order. I received the smoke edition and it gives my phone (black) a sleek unique look. I've read a few people had warped cases but mine was fine and provided a good snug fit. Case doesn't add bulk to phone and fits my hand well. Keep in mind it is a gel case so it wont protect the phone from a lot of drops but is an excellent case for me until my UAG case comes in. In addition it was only $12 and free 2 day shipping.
Here are some pics of the case you requested.

I don't know about anyone else but the top of my phone doesn't fit securely into the lip of the cover. I can literally run my thumb across the top of the case to separate it from the phone. That's means big trouble if I dropped the phone. If you get this case you still have to be wary of damage if dropped because no way it'll will stay in this case so this should be temporary until you can get a better case ASAP. Really a shame because Rearth cases are normally pretty good.
Just got mine. Very impressed. Great case. Fits tight. Highly recommended.

Love the concept and look. Got mine last week, power button doesnt line up, spen cant be pulled out inless you pull up on the case directly on top of the spen, ir blaster doesnt line up, barely holding the entire top lip. This thing is worth 2 bucks if that.
One good thing i wrote them an email and they said that i received a fluke and they sent me a new one today for free claiming it will fit better. We shall see and i hope so cause i really like it especially how nice and slim it is.

sounds like you got the same "flukey" case I got, but I didn't even bother contacting them I just chunked it in a draw and put the incipio case back on until I can find something thinner that'll actually fit to use. Maybe I'll give them a chance to redeem themselves with a replacement case.
I had a ringke case for my Note 4 and the first one was warped on one side. Clearly an issue they have. Replacement was excellent.
Quick update . Have had this case for a week now and I have no desire to order anything else except the flip wallet. Nice and tight and feels good in the hand. $13 is a good deal for this.

just received the Ringke Flex S from amazon and couldn't be happier. my son literally dropped my phone 3 secs after I put it on and it survived fine.
