I need major help!

This is my first windows mobile and im struggling to understand a lot of the jargon that is on this website, also struggling to find out were the apps are to download???? thanks
Fear not ...
A good place to start understanding things is the Wiki: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/ there's a glossary, FAQs and a whole bunch of other useful info
For the apps, well there are many in this very section, also have a look in there http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=528 for more generic WinMo stuff (some of which may or may not work on the HD2, read the threads first )
Apart from here, there are plenty of places to get freeware or paid-for software from, Google will help you find them . Also a form of XDA-Marketplace is currently being worked on, more info on that here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611653&highlight=xda+marketplace
Edit: make a note of your OS, ROM and Manila version - stuff which works for some variants may not work for some others. To check that, go to Settings> About Phone> Software Information
There is a few websites out there for applications, one of which has its own catalogue style application for easy browsing:

Android Apps Database

Hi,
Just have a noob Android user question.
Like for winmo devices, there are a lot of sites where we get commercial games and apps crakced and for free.
Is something like this possible for Android as well?
P.S. I don't mean anything wrong, but just something came to my mind. I still support the android app developers by buying the apps.
Sure
Android is a bit of a unique community.
Yes, you'll find them. You can find packages of 100's of them on your usual torrent sites, newsgroups, etc.
And sometimes, as a member of this community, you'll find developers post their .apk on the board, simply to retrieve feedback.
But we want Android developers to thrive - therefore we buy our apps if we can.
And please do so as well.
Thanks for the response.
good to know!

[REQ] Collaborative "stock" application list for KitKat/CM11/AOSP/GApps

I'm hoping to get some help with a collaborative list of applications for the latest android. The list will be comprised of the application filename, where it comes from(ie: CyanogenMod, OTA, GApps, AOSP, etc), what it's purpose is(brief description), and whether or not it is safe to remove(possibly also a column for what applications are dependent on it, if necessary.)
I know there have been other attempts at this, however I cannot find an up-to-date version.
I have started, but honestly don't know what a lot of the applications do. This will be something that I will edit over the next few days when I have the time and patience, and hopefully others will join in as well.
Here's the link if anyone feels like chipping in. Feel free to reformat it to look prettier, or prepare it with BB code for later use in a forum post.
Any help is greatly appreciated, and I hope that once this is done, it will help some people out.
I'll also include - in the final post - a prewritten script (for use in recovery) which can remove all of the apps that are "safe to remove" (so that people can edit it to their liking)

Please give me some advice for developing a product for older people

Hello,
I have some questions, but I'm really not in this field, so it's possible to say some stupid things. Please forgive me.
Also please forgive me for posting this here, but I'm thinking that here I can find some specialists that can tell me in what direction I must look to find solutions.
I want to develop a product, for a group of older people. It's composed from a tablet + the software for it. The tablets I plan to order from a Chinese manufacturer, but for the moment I want to buy a couple of tablets from a local store just to see if it works. The OS should be Android. The main purpose of this product will be an app (with some widgets) that will be pre-installed on it. I don't want the app to be available on Playstore. The app will be very basic in this stage. So, until now seems simple. I hire someone on Fiverr to develop the app knowing the main specifications of the tablets, then I buy the tablets, manually install the app and setting it's widgets to display as I want.
BUT, I want also to customize the opening animation of the device. And very important, to be able to update the app and it's widgets, and also the way the widgets appear on the screens. And maybe install some new apps for added functionality. It must be very simple to use for these people, they don't know how to install apps from Playstore, and to setup widgets and stuff. It must be a product ready to use and possible to update in the future.
Is this possible?
I need a customized version of Android? This can be updated on the devices, and set up all things, apps and how the widgets display?
Or I can make all these with only an Android app?
Any advice is welcome, thank you
