[Q] No Front Camera - General Questions and Answers

I have a Doogee DG300 Voyager and there is a problem with the front camera. It is not enabled and I want to enable it
The bootloader is in Chinese and I couldn't understand much except when I was on the camera tests the back cam was all ready but the front cam had a message "not tested". I don't know what I should actually do or what should I search for. I need directions of some short.

Help someone for crying out loud ffs

have you tried actually using the camera app and switching to the front camera?

[Q] Rear camera - clicking noise

Hi Guys,
Yesterday I wanted to record some videos, I opened camera software, pressed to switch between front a rear camera, then I heard this clicking noise.
From now, this noise is always when I turn rear camera on, or switching from front to rear, also I can feel that something is moving inside when I touch rear camera cover, it's like the aperture would be opening and closing and making that noise.
It's noting serous, everything is working, camera is working fine, tablet is ok as well.
Does anyone has experienced this as well?
What do you reckon, should I bringing back to the store and get a new one?
Waiting for your thoughts on this.
thx
I also noticed it, but with me it sounds more like the shutter (for as far as it is present) opening, just like with a normal camera. Unless you here something rattling near the camera when you shake your TF, I wouldn't make a big problem out of it.
It's an annoying noise, but it's normal. You'll just have to live with it.
ELTinos , you are right , it sounds more like the shutter, I can also hear it when I put tablet back to live after sleep mode when camera software is running.
it's not that annoying but I am concern that this is something that came up just now, I tested camera before and didn't get that noise but if you guys are saying that's normal, then I am calm.
Any more thoughts on this?
Sounds normal to me. My HTC Hero had this from the beginning... Camera is still working after 1,5 years so I don't think you need to worry
Thanks flight777
Just more info, to be more clear on this:
-Clicking Noise doesn't come from speakers
-It's only when I switch back from front camera to rear camera, also when in the rear camera mode, switching between : taking picture <-> record videos
If you could test it as well on your TF
thx Guys , appreciate your responses
It is rear camera's autofocus (solenoid moving lense). It can be also heard while turning on from coplete off.

As been said before, it's just the shutter lens, stop making a big deal out of it.

yeah, mine just started clicking today...after 2 years with the nexus one.
i can see the lens pulsing when the clicking occurs.
hmmm....

How to install Front cam

Guys I use HTC Explorer/pico... I wanted to know that if a front cam can be installed in our device as it certainly lacks one...and if it can't be installed then can the back camera be used for video calling??
-
From a hardware point of view it would be pretty easy to install a front facing camera. All you would then have to do would be develop some housing (casing) for it. But you would need to create a rom with or add to your current rom, coding that allows the use of the camera. Like a driver.
In short, it's a mission creating a front facing camera. I would suggest updating.
Same issue with my xperia x8 though. I might get a samsung nexus or s3. Also about the back camera thing, you could easily use this for video calling but it would be very inconvenient to video call someone if you could not see them.
Sorry if this is not what you wanted. Please thank me if you appreciate it.
Wow thats in depthv
Yes it would be quite hard installing a front facing camera.
better buy a phone with front cam rather than fixing it on the explorer:angel:

[Q] Front Camera only 2MP?

As the title suggests, is this correct?
All the specs I look up state the front camera is 2.2MP, however I've just noticed that when I switch to front camera (manual mode) on my Z3 the only two options are 1.9MP (4:3) and 2MP (16:9). There's no mention of 2.2MP whatsoever. Does the 2.2MP option only apply when in Super Auto mode?
Phone is completely stock, so nothing has been tinkered with.
Is this how it should be? Feels slightly misleading if it is.
doesn't really matter, it's almost completely worthless.

I feel sorry for all the selfie addicts who have bought this phone.. I really do
It's a terrible front camera, really thought I'd be getting better.
My SO has an iPhone 6, and even on snapchat it's miles better than the camera on my UL BL Z3
Its a shame Sony fails to produce a good front camera espeically in the selfie era and apps like Snapchat.
They're meant to put a 5MP on the Z4 but still doesnt Megapixels dont mean everything and the Z3 Camera should've been of a decent standard considering Sony have been through 4 Generations of the Z Line already

Doogee mix 2 - camera

Hi guys,
I appreciate that this is a specific Mix 2 question but couldnt see a mix 2 section yet to post in.
I recieved my Mix 2 about a week ago and my first impressions are that its a great phone - it does everything I want....... apart from when it comes to the cameras.
Firstly, the quality is pretty bad and a large step back from the oppo find 7 I am switching from. Both front and rear facing cameras fail to properly focus and always seem to take photos like there is a dirty lens, a sort of soft look, most obvious when photographing text, which just isnt sharp at all.
Secondly, it appears that the second rear facing camera doesn't do anything - is it even real?!? I believe its there for the optical zoom option, but even when you zoom in with the camera app, you can still cover this camera and it has no effect on the photo, therefore it is not used.
Any ideas on how to improve the picture quality? I presume its going to be a case of waiting for Doogee or some developers to take this device on to update the firmware......
Thanks

A new update of the firmware is being "cooked" to solve this problem.
I know that will be released soon.

It would be great... Camera performance is the main issue of the device. On the other hand, all the other features are quite well
Sorry to put this query here. Even i haven't got any place to right it down. I also have a same problem. Rear camera not working. Bought this phone specially for camera specifications. When will be the updates release to make the second rear camera work. Even 8 MP Nokia camera takes better picture than this 16 MP. And there are many bugs. Many apps crashes. And on YouTube I have seen many videos which shows many camera app showing 4k video recording option, but I think that was after update and I still haven't received it.i show that video 1 month back.
New update from company has improved the camera lil bit. But still not a usable one. And it keeps on hunting for focus in video.
From morning all Google apps are getting closed by itself. Please help to solve the issue in mix 2
no updates have improved the camera on this phone for me so far. Taking photos of static images is ok - maybe 6/10, if I use whatsapp to take a photo of anything it always appears very soft and a little blurred. If I try to take a photo of my cat.....no chance, the shutter is so slow, unless the object doesnt move at all you cant capture the image. I do like the phone and previously havent been bothered about camera specs, but that was when all my previous phones could take decent pictures. This might be the reason I get rid of this phone in a few months, it turns out a decent camera is a must for me - I was spoilt with my Oppo find 7, which had an incredible camera

+1 about camera perfrmance, i bought it to do a review and the camera is the worst thing in an otherwise decent phone. I did a comparison with the honor 7x, which has a much better camera at the same price.
Hdr+
Hallo guys, there isn't a procedure to flash Google camera hdr+ on this smartphone o mediatek CPU. I founded everything for Qualcomm but nothing to mediatek.

Front Camera EIS?

Interested to buy this phone but the front camera is a turn-off for me since it lacks any stabilization. will any camera app able to solve this problem?
