I'm having a problem where when the other participant in the phone call is quiet, their voice drops out entirely. Any ideas on where I could start to look for a solution? Thanks.

I had a similar problem where there voice gets quite but not silent. If you find a solution please report back. Thx

Or is it just me?
While on a call, a incoming call renders all audio on both calls dead. Regardless if you answer, ignore or let go to VM, neither person can no longer hear any audio.
I have tried this in many different scenarios. I am using T-Mobile in the NYC area.
If anyone else is experiencing this, please respond.
UPDATE!!!!!
The "Viber" app I installed was the cause of the problem. Once I uninstalled it immediately fixed the problem.

Hi, I have the exact same problem. It is quite frustrating.
The only work around I have found so far is to go in to call settings -->additional settings and turn off call waiting. Which is also kind of annoying.
Does anyone have a more elegant solution? (like having the incoming call sound a beep instead of taking over my entire call and rendering the phone useless!)

So I've had this problem ever since I flashed the CM 11 ROM, and its persisted even after flashing later builds.
To best understand this problem, go to Youtube: Type Atrix 2 Audio issue, and check out the first video. (Sorry! being a noob i'm not allowed to post links yet)
Issue: During outgoing calls to certain cell phone numbers, the caller gets a robotic sound of what the other person is saying. Receiver cant hear anything at all.
Also when receiving calls from certain cell phone numbers(Usually the same numbers with the outgoing problem) the above issue takes place.
I tried the In-call Call Volume app as well, it doesn't fix the issue. Also someone mentioned about switching to 2G, that didnt fix my issue either.
Any help and suggestions would be much appreciated.

I don't know why so, can this problem be solved ?
I even made sure that the other end ( receiver ) is not receiving the echoed voice.
Is that a hardware issue ?
Please reply if you have some idea why this happens ?

What kind of network type are you using (2g/3g/4g)? It almost seems like a codec/carrier thing IMO.

Having a weird issue: During a call, I cannot hear my counterpart, unless I am using the headset or put the call on speaker. The call can hear my without any issues.
Already stopped various apps and finally reset the whole device but the issue persists.

I have a ZTE Axon 7 running Android version 7.1.1.
Starting about 2 weeks ago, I have cannot hear a ringing tone when placing an outgoing phone call. However, the call will connect and then I cant have a normal phone call with the other side.
Incoming calls work just fine.
I have tried disabling Google OK, disabling WiFi Calls, disabling Voice over LTE, turning off bluetooth. None of those helped.
Any suggestions?

Since my last post, I found online on Reddit that several people using Google Voice on the T-Mobile Network are having this same issue. Google actually responded saying that it is a problem on their end and that nothing can be done on our end to fix this issue.
