[Q] Problems after moonshine - HTC One S

Today i rooted my HTC One S (S3) with moonshine, but my wifi don't turn on. I've searched how to fix, but i don't find it. I flashed twrp recovery too and i see on moonshine folder, "boot_backup.img".
What should I do to get my wifi back?

You shoud try gto get a matching RUU / firmware to bring your phone back to stock. If WiFi is working fine you can flash a custom rom again

I think RUU is too dangerous for me. There's another way? Can I rollback my boot with "Boot_backup" created by moonshine? If yes, how?

May you post a link to "moonshine" ?? I think its to gain S-OFF and not to root your phone.

Which firmware instalation was installed on your phone? Did you successfully gain S-OFF / unlocked bootloader / Superuser access?
Moonshine.io provives the feature to install a modified stock kernel. the boot.img backup is the original kernel. Just flash it using fastboot.
"fastboot flash boot boot.img"

please help needed to restore stock rom - RUU failed

Hi guys, recently my Desire S got some problems with sending/receivng sms and calls (tried 2 sim, different roms) so I decide to revert it back to stock rom and send it to RMA.
First i tried to install a RUU (ok, now I know it has'nt been a good idea), but installation failed with an error like "can't install, wrong bootloader".
Now I have a phone without recovery, with HBOOT 2.00.0002 and says:
***LOCKED***
***Security Warning***
SAGA PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT 2.00.0002
etc.
Could anyone tell me what to do now? Thank you all!
I would try and run the official ics ruu and then unlock via htcdev then flash custom recovery and then gain root and then change the misc version and then lock bootloader then finally run your region ruu to get back to stock but have a search about coz there is plenty of guides out there.
good luck

Thank you, I will try!
I succefully installed ICS RUU and then unlocked with HTC dev. Then I flashed clockwork mod via fastboot. Now I'm still on S-ON and my question is: if I restore an old nandroid backup that I made when I was on old 0.98 hboot, will this overwrite my hboot? I don't know if it works since I'm still S-ON.

No, it won't change your hboot. But you will have to flash the boot.img from the backup in fastboot.

Hi
I want to install maximushd10 4.3 to my phone, but after complete installation steps it's not work correct for my. next i want to recover my phone by RUU. but it's error 158. i go s-on and rewrite original sid (htc__203). but i have get error 158 by RUU. i'm not able to go s-off or install another rom or RUU and cant use/install RUU becuase of SDCARD and hboot 2.16...
may i have a solution to re-partition sdcard. or downgrade h-boot without s-off ?
my phone:
UNLOCKED
S_ON
HBOOT-2.16.0000
SID HTC__203
Recovery TWRP 2.6.1.0...
help please...
------------------------------------------------
in this case, we need a rom that work with s-on and last hboot (2.16), that only rom that i found is MagioRom_Beta_2.
i wiped phone and reset to factory setting
next, transfer rom with SIDELOAD.
then REBOOT and install sideload... (with magio installation instructions)...
after that, rom boot and install correctly and phone run into android. then i followed directions of super cid and facepalm s-off.
My Phone Security is OFF and CID is 1111111 :cyclops: .
next i installed MAXIMUS10.
now i'm on MAXIMUSHD 10. :victory:
Horrible mistake by going s-on before running a RUU.
Try using fastboot commands like in post # 68 of that thread.
Fastboot that recovery and the boot img. Sideload the Rom via twrp. Maybe you can get it running.

I don't know of any quick fix. Was thinking since you said it was repartitioned and new hboot, you could flash boot.img and flash rom and get it working. Sorry for your luck.
You can try magiorom beta 2. The rom works with latest hboot.

I have a smilar problem
I installed the maximus rom for htc one s,i installed the firmware for it,flashed the rom,i did everything but i went to recovery and it said 48mb storage. When i was using the rom i mounted it from the android its self and deleted the os(I was panicking). I read online and it said u have to install the recovery from the install package . So i installed the recovery file and got it back to normal. Today i panicked and put it on s-on. Then i tried adb side loading a rom and i couldn't figure it out so i went to fastboot usb and i did "fastboot flash zip Energyrom.zip" it didn't work and said failed so i went back to recovery and it is 48 mb again.I reflashed the recovery but that didn't work . What do i do i need my phone fixed asap. Please respond if you know the fix to the problem. (Im only 12 pleease help me). Thanks in advanced

[SOLVED] MaximusHD 10.0.0 back to Stock

So this is my situation,
after using MaximusHD 10.0.0, I would like to go back to my stock rom. The problem is that I lost my nandroid back-up because of flashing another update version of twrp. I'm a little bit new to all this android flashing stuff, so I was wondering if anybody could help me?
I was planning of using a guild for this, which i can't post because i'm a new user, who says just to relock bootloader and use a RUU. But instead of using the T-mobile version, I wanted to use a RUU file for Europe.
Before I was going to start with this, I wanted to make a nandroid back-up, but CWM can't mount my SD-card.
So, how do I start going back to the stock rom from MaximusHD 10.0.0 on my HTC One S C4?
Ask for more info if needed!
[Update]: I found a solution for my can't mount SD Problem. So can somebody help me finding a right RUU? (I live in Belgium)
Try to flash TWRP, then you can backup.
And then flash an RUU

So, do I need to first Relock my bootloader before I run the RUU? Or is it not needed because I'm S-OFF?
im also S-Off and on Hboot 2.16, now to get back to 2.15 is this the right way ?
flash my backup of stock 3.16 Jelly Bean in TWRP
relock the bootloader
Flash 3.16 RUU.exe
Thanks
So, last little question!
What happens if the RUU gives an error?
Does your ROM is still the way it was before if you cancel the RUU after error?
Or is your ROM deleted?

It's really easy, you just have to reflash the modded version of TWRP for MaximusHD 10.0.0. All the other versions of TWRP or cwm won't work.

Yes I know its modded version , I tried to push it but it cant be done, Since I have CWM recovery, i cant put this TWRP one from maximus, it says failed: remote not allowed. I think it is because I relocked my bootloader, If I have to unlock it again, i wont be able to do it since cant use sd properly, so its doomed circle i think, need really big help guys . thanks in advance !
This is what i did.
1.oem relock
2. install org RUU, i downloaded one of the exe's and just let it do it's thing.
3. done.
4. rooted
5. flashed twrp
Okay,
So I just want to be sure about this.
Are these the ONLY steps I have to take?

2) Run RUU -> in this case http://www.androidruu.com/getdownload.php?file=Ville/RUU_Ville_U_JB_45_S_HTC_Europe_3.16.401.8_Radio_1.11.50.05.28_10.27.50.08L_release_301814_signed_2_4.exe

Relock the phone first, i don't know why, but i read on the forums that you have too when returning to stock.
1. in cmd "fastboot oem lock" phone now says "relocked"
2. from fastboot run RUU exe and wait.
3. done
In my case the RUU flashed me back to hboot 1.13, so install all updates from htc, then it updated to hboot 2.15.
So now you need to re-unlock the phone, and flash a new recovery.
If you want CM11 hboot 2.15 you need to flash modded recovery from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2528113
If you don't CM11 flash will fail.
Go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1583427&highlight=tutorial and follow STEP 1.
That should re-unlock the phone.
STEP 2 flashes new recovery. Skip STEP 3.
After recovery has been flashed, boot into recovery, then press "reboot" and reboot to bootloader, if you flashed twrp it will ask to install superSU.
Now you are ready to flash anything again.
Is it necessary to re unlock?
Because i'm not planning on changing rom soon.
Thanks for the help!
You don't need to flash new rom, if you want to stay on stock you can, stock will still boot fine afterwards.

Thanks, but I can't find any rom for my region, icm:HTC_J15. Could you give me a link to download a rom for my region ?
Don't mix it with official updates from HTC!
A (custom) rom is made not by HTC, this you can use.
A update by HTC don't have a rom.zip inside.
A RUU has a rom inside, but this is cid related.
So better clarify, what you are searching or what you want to do!

Hi,
I used rumrunner.us and now my device is S-OFF. Therefore I must be able to flash other roms after changing my cid and hboot version. Is it right ?
And another question is,
I've flashed Superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed.zip and superuser.apk has been installed but those programs that want to get root access, can't do this like Root Explorer, and in RootValidator as you can see in the picture below, shows "Root was denied to this app!", and from ADB I can to get root access, but why programs don't have any root access ?
Thanks.

Depends on, if we are talking about official HTC roms/updates or custom roms. For custom roms you usually don't need to change CID.

You should use SuperSu, because i'm not sure that Superuser is still in development (especially for newer Android versions).
Grab the zip file here and flash in recovery (should also remove Superuser you have already flashed).

So how exactly do i upgrade my phone. Do i just downloaded the rom and flash it, and flash the boot.img like before or is there a new procedure?

It's the same. The RUU is to bring it back to stock.

It's the same. Flash boot.img if not s-off or get s-off and just flash the ROM.

What about h-boots are those required to be updated?

What HBOOT do you have now? Check in the boot loader (restart then power+vol down)

OK I see. If I were you I would use an RUU to update to a later version of software that has HBOOT 2.15.
Actually this is what I would do:
1: Run the correct RUU for your phone from one that moonshine.io supports:
http://moonshine.io/moonshine-downloads/
2: IF you want, then run moonshine.io to get S-OFF.
3: Flash a custom recovery like TWRP
4: Install ROM.
If you don't get S-OFF, then you need to flash boot.img.
If anyone disagrees with this, please chime in please.
