for some reason the last 3 apps i've installed all FC on me. at least 2 were from the market. prior to this i've installed a ton of apps from the market and TB.
open maps, movies, yelp.
i managed to install yelp after i uninstalled movies. not sure why that mattered. i actually got the FC message but then it went away. movies still didn't install correctly. i've completely removed open maps.
i've heard fixing permissions in cwr can work but i've screwed up my phone on a prior rom doing that so i'm really weary of using it. also, why would i need to fix permissions if it's a new install?
Update: fixing permissions did nothing. Does clearing dalvik do anything?

Clear cache and dalvik and try again. If you still have problems, then reflash your ROM on top of your existing ROM without wiping anything. If you still have problems after doing this, then backup your apps/app data with Titanium and then do a full wipe (system, data, cache; everything). Then reinstall your ROM, then install Titanium and restore your apps (do not restore system settings; only restore apps and app data).

I have a problem with downloading apps from the android market. everytime I try to download one it gets stuck on "Downloading"
Now before u jump at me saying that it is a common problem and that I should search it up, just know that I did search not just here but all over google and did find some sulotions but nothing seemed to work.
some of the sulotions I tried:
clearing data and cache for download manager, market, google apps etc..
uninstalling a bunch of apps and wiping dalvik cache
factory reset, which worked but after a couple of days the problem came back.
I'm runnig MIUI 2.2.3 (android 2.3.7) on my htc desire hd

I don't believe that's the problem because I just found out that I can't download files through the miui browser as well, but I can download with firefox for android. Based on that I believe that it has something to do with the download manager maybe, but as I mentioned before I already tried clearing its data.. any thoughts?

Perhaps you have some internet settings changed through apps e.g. droidwall, lbe privacy guard, tethering apps? When I have problems with market downloads, I have to reboot phone then clear data/cache for download manager and market.
Try using mobile data instead of wifi, or vice versa.

I just installed ExynosAbuse APK v1.40 and i now have root so i could regain my copy/paste function back. (I delete everything in data>clipboard)
However now when i go to install any app i get the error, insufficient storage. As the title says I have ~15gb free (says the settings>storage). Even when uninstalling an app I cannot re install it as it says i have insufficient space. For example, i uninstalled angry birds SW (which was 60mb) and i cannot reinstall it, or any other apps.
Oh, and i uninstalled the Exynosabuse (but left root enabled) and now i cannot reinstall it to disable root. I also tried uninstalling the google play updates, and nothing changed. Installing apps with either google play or ES file manager gives the same result (insufficient storage space)
Thanks for the help.

If you are getting it for a particular app then try searching for the it using its name it must have left some file over during your previous installion delete all files with the app name and try installing it should install
Try uninstalling the update of play store by going into settings applications
The first one should do the trick

All of the apps in the play store that i tired (ones that haven't been installed before) gave the same error, not just ones previously installed. I also deleted some bloatware updates and tried to reinstall their updates afterwards. The problem persists.
I did uninstall the playstore updates and clearing the cache. Nothing changed.
I've restored to factory and its working again. Crappy solution though..
thanks for the help
I solved this problem with lucky patcher. Run it when you have this problem and it will remove the unused odex file. Then install normally and you shouldn't have the error. I found this happens to me when uninstalling modified apks and trying to install the official app after.

Well it's happening again.
How do I get into recovery mode to delete dalvik cache? Is that where you hold down power and the volume button, cause I don't see anywhere to delete the cache when im in there. It's just a screen thqts says downloading.
I cleard the dalvik cache In link2sd but it says it's empty. Also cleared app cache with link2sd.
I did notice that the system file space is at 17% (243mb left) which is still large enough to install the apps I'm trying. I have 25gb free out of 32gb.
This problem is not limited to one app. It also happens with apps that never been installed on this tablet.
Thanks for the help.
Did you try what I mentioned

Power+Volume Up until you see the GTN8000 or whatever model you have screen then leave power button while keep pressing the volume up button until you get into recovery
Dude i suggested going into recovery and wiping cache and dalvik cache a while ago but got no response. You didnt ask how if you didnt know and you obviously didn't search for it. Not trying to be rude here but it just is a little irritating when you try to help and you get ignored. Volume up and power till you see the boot screen then let go. And youll see wipe cache, do it. Then scroll to advanced and then to wipe dalvik cache, do it. Then go back to the firdt sceen and select reboot.
Also gmfeny had a suggestion did you try that?

The first time you mentioned it i had already did a factory reset and my GN was working for the moment. When the problem came back i said i tried it in link 2 sd and i did boot to what it thought was recovery mode (i did google it but i must have miss read. I was holding power and volume down to get into recovery screen) and didnt see anywhere to delete dalvik cache. I should have stated clearly that i needed help on getting to the right place.
I will try that next.
gmfeny, I have looked in data>apps and nothing about the apps im trying to install is there. Also this problem isnt limited to apps that i've previously installed. So I wouldnt expect anything to be in there on those apps. However there is a folder im not sure about. its not very big (256KB) and its names mcRegistry.
I'm not sure if its a big deal, and further since no one seemed to have commented on it. Is there a problem with my system file space as mentioned above? (17% left, 250MB)
thanks
I have the GTN80013 (32gb no GSM/cdma)
Im in recovery mode now and i selected wipe cache partition. I dont see anywhere that says advanced. The only options i have are; reboot, apply update from external storage, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, apply update from cache.
still cannot install some apks. I tried to install appinstaller (which i've never installed/tried to install from the play store) and it failed. Also my game emulators failed to install with ES file explorer.
I was able to clear the dalvik cache by gong to data/dalvik-cache And deleting everything. after restarting it waa rebuilt. still can't install apps.
Maybe it's not the same as doing it in recovery, but that's not an option in my recovery mode from what I can see.
Thank for the help
I finally solved my problem.
I had installed Link2SD and a setting in that app was causing the problem.
The Fix:
Open up the menu (context menu) > settings
Click on install location and change it from External to Automatic.
I can install app now.
The only strange part is when i first had this problem, i didnt have this app installed. As suggested above, it was probably the Dalvik cache.
For anyone who has problems finding the 'clear dalvik cache' in recovery mode; You can use lucky patcher to delete it. Its in the menu>trouble shooting> delete dalvik cache and reboot.
Or you can do it manually by going to data>dalvik-cache and deleting everything in there.
Thanks for the help!
So I have a rooted GS3 running stock 4.1.2 and I flashed one of those inverted Google play store apps using twrp. Then when I rebooted my device for another reason and went into the play store, it said no connection even though my WiFi and 4g are both fine. I uninstalled all updates to the app, but then the play store would crash even when running in the background. So I found the latest version of the play store I could online, which was 4.0.2.5 which isn't the most recent. But now I still have the same no connection problem. Any solutions? This happened to me to me once, I fixed it by restoring a backup. I couldn't really figure out what was causing it. I know I messed it up by clearing data on system framework. But I have no idea how that messed it up.
You could just flash a custom rom and that will fix the issue. The problem is that the playstore is being updated constantly. Any Inverted playstore I have running ends up getting automatically updated to the most recent release anyways, so I just kind of gave up theming it. You probably installed an old version of playstore. The playstore must have some automatic connection protocol that enables it to automatically update without permission, and an old playstore might not allow that connection.
You might just be able to completely delete the playstore from your phone to install a recent one, but I have no idea if that would work. Someone has to know how to fix this without a restore or flashing a new rom.

That will work for sure, just have to find a custom rom you like. Your play store won't restore even if it's backed up through titanium. It's a good idea to have titanium anyway.
Never restore system data, only restore user apps + data. That's known to cause problems after a restore.

Nandroid and unlock bootloader first.

That is very strange, give it a shot, flashing a gapps package might work. I do think it's a problem with the Google apps though, so your play store is working right? I think all you need now is let the play store auto update. Maybe there's a way to force it. That should allow the rest of your apps to work.

so if anybody having this problem again
i get mine fixed by doing this :
1. Open any file explorer that have root access
2. Search for a folder named "system" and then look for a folder that says "etc"
3. Inside "etc" folder search for a file that says "host" . edit that text using any text editor
4. Delete everything in the host file
5. Save
I ended up fixing it by flashing another rom, using titanium backup to copy the play store. and then reflashed back to the original rom I was using and then restored with copy of the play store i previously had.

I had no reason to think that I needed to do anything other than select "Uninstall" from the menu, so no. I don't think I ever used it on the device, so I had no reason to think there was any data to wipe. Since you indicated that you were running out of space, you could also check out SD Maid and use it to free up some space and perhaps clean up data from apps you might have uninstalled in the past. Improved results can be gained if you are rooted.
