MX Player is a good apps for playing video files. It support many video formats and subtitles.
MX Player also capable plying audio files. But I think, MX Player still lacks of feature as music player. One of them is, lyrics feature.
The lyrics can came from metadata tag from the audio file itself, or just like video subtitle (searching subtitle files in the file folder).
I hope MX Player will be able to show plain lyrics (.txt) and also lyrics with timestamp (.lrc) and common subtitles (.srt, .ass) while playing audio files.
Thank you.
MX Player is primarily a video player. If you want audio player features, you should go with something like Poweramp Music Player.

same here ... looking for a player capable of reading also subtitles (.srt)
It is not a player, but you can
a) recode a movie to shrink it size without noticing any difference in Topaz's screen
b) Embed subtitles
c) play the mp4 movie it produces without any additional software: just the HTC video player included in your ROM

Tested and is really working + it gets frequent updates
For playback I use CorePlayerâ„¢ Mobile, because i never managed to get tcpmp 0.7*/0.8* to work with a subtitle plug-in.
So I also re-encode .avi (xvid) + .srt files with AVI ReComp
I have a dreambox and it have iptv it runs with vlc and is in a video .m3u. I want to playback that on my htc desire. Is it possable?
m3u is an MP3 audio playlist. That's not going to be very useful for video.
vlc should be able to serve videos over rtsp, and all Android phones are able to play rtsp. You just need to make sure they're encoded as H.263 or H.264.

Hi, I made a feature request on January but got ignored (https://groups.google.com/forum/#!s...avrcp/mx-videoplayer/6DZi_O3O9Vw/G-SX_Luc0uwJ). And seems like there is another user requesting the same thing (https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/mx-videoplayer/3JVFC214-Ds).
Basically, there are song titles, artist, and album info inside the mp3/mp4 files and those info can be display on AVRCP devices like many car audio systems, and bluetooth headset like Sony MW-600. I have no problem in getting those infos displayed on my AVRCP devices by Poweramp (even mp4 video file). But this feature is missing for MX Player, I wonder if this could be added to the future feature list. Thanks.

Since Poweramp can already do this for mp3 files, I assume you want this for mp4 music videos?

Both mp3 audio and mp4 video files. Poweramp can handle both, but I prefer MX Player since poweramp is just an audio player after all. Thanks.
AVRCP bluetooth metadata
I've got "smart" bluetooth speakers. They are so smart that if the AVRCP status says that the playback is paused, that means that no sound is getting through. So it would help if MX player would at least set the status to "playing" so that the speakers would allow for sound to come through. For now if I want to use MX player, I'm forced to connect the audio cable and loose the media control functionality (play/pause, next/previous).
P.S.: I'm using MX Player Pro from play store
Ok guys, please don't get me wrong! Most of you use MX Player for playing videos. But MX Player is a powerfull audio player to! It does support some exotic
audio file formats comming from Amiga such as .mod, .xm, .it, .s3m I never found in other media players. So I am a little sad for its poor midi support.
I think there is a bug in MX midi player! I can't even identify the title, when I hear the output! Audio player in es file explorer does well! I like midi files - so I play this in es!
Message to bleu8888: I know you are busy with more important thinks. But if you ever have a little time for this, please fix it! So people can say: MX Player
ist the most powerfull media player with the most supported file types in the android universe.
Kind regards
Andro Uno
RESPECTED DEVELOPERS OF MX PLAYER,I WANT TO SAY THAT -ADD TO PLAYLIST- OPTION SHOULD BE ADDED IN MX PLAYER OPTION SO THAT AUDIO AND VIDEO CAN BE ADDED TO PLAYLIST OPTION AND THERE IS NO NEED OF CONVERSION OF VIDEO TO MP3 FORMAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I BELIEVE THAT THIS ADD TO PLAYLIST OPTION WILL INCREASE THE DOWNLOADS OF MX PLAYER AS WELL AS CONTRIBUTE TO THE OVERALL BETTER PERFORMANCE AND CREATIVITY OF MX PLAYER...............
this player is great, but without a playlist function (especially for urls) it's simple shocking
