Keyboard lag in forums/message boards when using all browsers, does anyone have a fix for it?

Switch to XDA classic. Scroll to the bottom and switch. That'll fix the XDA lag.

keyboard lag
Thanks for the quick reply. The problem with the lag in the keyboard is on all sites with message boards or forums...I.e. yahoo, YouTube, etc... I have no lag when doing emails or typing in notepad. I have tried half a dozen keyboards, but the problem persists.
I called Motorola, but they were more interested in telling me they have no fix because no one has complained about that before, and I could just return it.

It's a known issue. Did you try another browser?

Are you running Honeycomb 3.2? Keyboard lag is almost non existent for me on 3.2
My Xoom is out of commission and bricked. I'm trying to get it working.

Yes I have used several different browsers, but I get the same results.

The keyboard lag still exists in 3.2. It's pretty ridiculous that there isn't a fix yet.
On a side note:
Another thing that is annoying the hell out of me is when I pop up my keyboard and start typing it opens a random program.

How did you brick it. o-o
I hated that keyboard lag!! The only fix I ever found was to download thumb keyboard on the android market for honeycomb. This fixed the keyboard lag all across the board for me. I am on 3.1 on a 3G Xoom Stock. Too bad I had to pay to get a fix and if there is a fix without this keyboard then please post!

Ditto, I've used several browsers, always get lag, I love when it finally starts typing, but the first few letters are now just gone. Or when it finally starts showing characters, and the browser does a force close.
Highly recommend it! The AI predictive capability is so much better than anything else I've used. Can oftentimes type with only one or two clicks per word.
But note that the word predictions are currently disabled for the HTC email app on the ThunderBolt. This was a quick fix for the predicted words blocking the text box in landscape mode on some screens. They are now aware of the problem and actually received a ThunderBolt today to test on (they are in England). I think the fix should be very easy because the predicted words are no longer blocking the text box when typing in the Subject line of emails in landscape mode.
In the meantime, the predictive capability still works great in Gmail, TouchDown (for MS Exchange), the Comcast Xfinity app, etc.
Thanks, Robertus
cool! Thanks.
Just downloaded It.

Just replaced flext9 with SwiftKey X. Love it.
Restores perfectly from titanium backup pro, flext9 faces me errors when restoring.

While you're in a document or text box typing, long press on the screen, choose Input method and then select SwiftKey X.
Thanks, Robertus
I used to have an HTC Blue Angel and the predictive text was excellent for me I could type really quickly.
Ever since I changed to a Touch HD the predictive text chooses the wrong words, automatically sticks in bits of text I don't want and frequently will double type stuff when I use backspace to delete a wrong character.
Does anyone know how the get the Blue Angel PT onto a Touch HD it's been driving me nuts for a couple of years now nad my only real complaint with the device.
Well that's is a little bit complicated to do.
What I would recommend is to simply change your keyboard to SwiftKey keyboard or you could install a rom which might solve your problem

These are Windows 6 'phones. I'm using Resco keyboard at present.
download some keyboard software..lots of there are free..try those softwares and see whether it solves your problem
I'm running the Galaxy S2 and hate the keyboard. I haven't used many android phones that I actually lik ethe keyboard on. They all seem to have a mind of their own. Just turn off any sort of autocorrect or preditive text. I tried a bunch of keyboard apps and the one i liked most was iTap. It's suppose to be like the iPhone keyboard but eventually I ended up giving up on that one to.
Hi all devs,
could someone help me about booth apps...i got all the time issues by surfing with my chrome Browser on jellyBean 4.1.1 and the keyboard Swiftkey by using or typing in my Keyboard.
For example:
the keyboard goes crazy and disappears constantly can type anything ... that is extremely annoying

So many choices but havent found "the one" yet. Which one do you find to be the best performer?

I recommend boat browser. Flash working, gestures, full screen.
I was using the stock one until recently.
Installed firefox and synced it with my desktop. Has a few quirks but overall its my main browser now.

I'm working with Dolphins Browser. It's fast and fully support flash. For me is this the best browser for Android

Next browser is really good too.

Yes next is very good its my No2 atm, 1st is chrome because I need tabs on top for quick change.
After testing a number of browsers I have to say that the newer versions of Chrome is hard to beat. I love the "swipe between tabs" feature and that it syncs so good with the phone as well as the desktop and laptop.

My choice is firefox.. really smooth surfing on note 10.1
have used chrome much since i use firefox on desktop as well..
It also depends what browser you use most on desktop
The new Chrome v28 works very well.
Chrome for sure. Logged in to the same account on my phone, and my other 3 computers. So where ever I go, or what ever device I'm on, I have all the same tabs open and ready to go. Works flowless.
I'm with Maxthon for years....

Thanks for all the ideas. I've tried most of them, each seems to have its pluses and minuses or one key feature that doesn't work for me. E.g. Chrome works on my banking site but the copy/paste function doesn't work. Firefox won't pinch/zoom for me. Thought Boat browser was going to be the one, thought it was working on my band site bill pay but at the very end it wouldn't submit the payments. Probably all of these problems are User Error.

It's a toss-up between Maxthon HD and the latest Chrome for me... Chrome was terrible originally (despite how bizarre that is), but recent versions have been pretty awesome. Maxthon has always been rock solid. My 2 cents.

chrome is the only browser you need, it syncs your bookmarks between desktop and tablet/mobiles so you never have to save them manually, all the other browsers on the android market don't even do that, i think firefox has this feature too, i have firefox installed for websites that use flash as chrome won't work with them properly.
I may have to try chrome. It has been awhile. Dolphin is good since it plays flash and supports multi window/dual view.

Another thing you may want to try is the stock browser with a different user agent. I've found some sites function better when using the iPad user agent (web designers favor Apple, big shock).
I'm not sure if this works on non-rooted ROMs, but the UAstring option appears under settings after typing about:debug in the stock browser's address bar.

I use the stock browser. Over the years I have tried various browsers, learned the gestures and so on. Each one was quirky. The stock browser just works. I shouldn't have to fiddle with user agents, or gestures or jumoing through rings of fire to read web pages.
