[Q] [HELP NEEDED BADLY] XPERIA Z ULTRA (SOL24) - Unlock - General Questions and Answers

Hello XDA Members,
I recently obtained an Xperia Z Ultra from Japan - AU KDDI with model name SOL24 (32GB). I was eager to have it unlocked so I tried flashing the C6833 (Global Xperia Z Ultra) latest Kitkat ROM to it.
It was a success, however, later did I found out that I should have excluded the partition as it is now reporting only 16GB of usable space. I then decided to go back to SOL24's original stock rom (4.1) but I keep on encountering error message - to follow.
I hope someone out there can share his thoughts or tips on this matter.
Issues:
1. SOL24 not able to unlock / use with other SIM Cards
2. SOL24 not able to recognize 32GB and unable to return to STOCK AU KDDI ROM as well.
*Unable to unlock via NCK Code since phone is not requesting for any unlock pin when a different SIM is inserted.
*Also tried procedure from htsoku.info but it was not applicable to me
*Tried rolling back Android 4.4 to original SOL24 AU KDDI ROM but encountered this error:
12/018/2014 13:18:50 - INFO - Start Flashing
12/018/2014 13:18:50 - INFO - Processing loader.sin
12/018/2014 13:18:50 - INFO - Checking header
12/018/2014 13:18:50 - ERROR - Processing of loader.sin finished with errors.
12/018/2014 13:18:50 - INFO - Ending flash session
12/018/2014 13:18:50 - ERROR - ERR_SEVERITY="MINOR";ERR_CODE="0017";ERR_DYNAMIC="0x80060011 ";
Thanks for reading.

Yes there is a language selection screen. Only some apps will be left in Kanji since most of them are native japanese apps.

What I did to enable the Unlock Code Prompt was flashed it with a ROM for the international version of Xperia Z Ultra. PLEASE BE WARNED, exclude the PARTITION part to prevent your 32GB Internal Memory from being just 16GB. It happened to me and now I am still looking for ways on how to restore that missing 16GB.
BTW, Unlock Code worked fine and I was able to use the Phone with three (3) different carriers so far (PH: SMART, PH: GLOBE & JP: Softbank). Originally it was just AU.
Hope someone can help us.

In the AU SOL24 ROM- It does not have the regular APN settings Instead it has something similar settings - CPA settings. I input all details for AU iPhone sim detail (I have an AU iPhone sim)
Cannot save the settings - gives me some error.
My case is worse - I have an AU iPhone sim and yet I cannot use the AU SOL24 handset.
How did you input the 3 carrier settings in your handset.
Any help can be appreciated.
Cheers
Roy

Is the Galaxy Tab - Docomo SC-01C Unlockable?
Anyone tested it? Thank you! Will wait for replies from you guys.

Could you teach us the steps you did for docomo users. Thanks.

when i bought it, i activated with NTT DOCOMO SIM and install docomo service
i checked with {*#7465625#} and network Lock is OFF.
i think i can use with another sim, but i dont know how.
and i think if i update with another rom, and activated it with another sim, i can use it.

How to update ROM? Please teach us steps. Thanks.
Docomo galaxy tab sc-01c fake unlock
Hi Guys!
Any Ideas how to unlock my Japanese Docomo galaxy tab sc-01c device, (MoDaCo ROM) that is SoftBank carrier locked (at least, as far as I know - I'm a european, got a used galaxy tab from japan)
All the unlocking methods i found failed.
Tried Rotohammer's unlock (hexediting and code-pasting method too)
- I followed the unlock instructions listed here:
How to carrier/SIM unlock the Galaxy Tab [Updated Dec 5 2010]
Tried the "repair_nv_data.zip" method not working too - details here:
- I followed the unlock instructions listed here:
How to carrier/SIM unlock the Galaxy Tab [Updated Dec 5 2010]
I even read on a forum, that the there published unlock (can't find it / remember it now) works fine on all Galaxy Tabs,... except Docomo sc-01c devices - grrrrr
I saw this video:
Unlock Samsung Galaxy Tab, i987, T849, P1000 and P1000L
Is it working? any info on that? I seriuosly consider buying that unlock if it realy works...
-=Other info=-
I am using the MoDaCo ROM (r1-p1000-update-modacocustomrom-wipe-unsigned.zip)
installed by this tutorial:
[ROM] 04/Feb r1 - MoDaCo Custom ROM for the Samsung Galaxy Tab with Online Kitchen
The first EFS folder backup was made after the the new rooted MoDaCo ROM had been installed (is that a problem, regarding the unlockabilty?) Since than, i have been hacking those ESF files (originals are backed up of course)
When I start the device, with my SIM card inserted, it asks for PIN (ok), after that, asks for "Enter Network Lock Control Key". I tried (after the mentioned unlock procedures) to enter 00000000 and 11111111 both unsucessfull
When launch the phone app and enter the magical *#7465625# all options displayed OFF
-- I see this: --
Personalizatiob Status
- Network lock OFF
- Network subset Lock OFF
- SP Lock PFF
- CP Lock OFF
----------------
(NOTE: the word "Personalizatiob" seems wierd...)
So alltogether, everything looks like the phone is unlocked, but it is NOT.
Still asks for that bloody "Network Lock Control Key" when I insert my hungarian T-mobile or Telenor (I have 2 SIMs) SIMcard ??? WTF?
Any ideas appreciated... thx.

Sorry, but id did not work for me. I tried with Hungarian SIM / provider (by this list: http ://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_Network_Code ) - Hungary - Telenor -- code 216/01
But i could not get it to lock on my provider, neither to unlock.
I previously tried the hexeditnig stuf by rotohammer, maybe that influenced the results... (see my previous posts)
I feel doomed. I have got no more idea
correction - it works, but...
correction - it works
I restored the original EFS folder, and went through the above mentioned process, and it succeeded.
I used the Hungarian Telenor code: 216/01, made the Lock, than the unlock.
The phone now can be used to make calls. works ok.
BUT
when i retart the phone, everything is los, it asks again for the unlock codes, ad i have to do the whole process again, from the begining.
At least.. it works if you never restart the phone..
hello, guys.
i'm having the same issue with anyone here who wanted to unlock their galaxy tab sc-01c from japan.
the code works successful until i reboot the phone.
there is a software named samsung tool somewhere, which can unlock any samsung devices.
anyone here has done with it?

Try this tips at .. //dandroidtabletpc.com/how-to-unlock-samsung-galaxy-tab.html
its work fine and great for me..
A good and ulocked ROM - unlockers, use this!
I am the guy with the japanese Galaxy Tab. I found a - sort of - solution.
The following Acudroid ROM works fine for me. I installed it, and after booting up my tab is unlocked, I can launch phone calls fine.
I faced only one problem, that the mobile internet connection is somehow not working. It is strange, since the telephone function works ok, I can call numbers, and talk. The previous ROM I used had no problems with mobile internet connection, but I had to unlock the simcard every time when I booted up the device with that old ROM... Strange.
(Any ideas, how to make the mobile internet connection work?)
Anyway, the rom is available here:

what if the network lock is on how did you put it off

Help flashing Taiwan Z5 Premium E6853 to Japanese Docomo firmware

Is it possible to flash my Z5 premium E6853 over to the Japanese z5 premium S0-03H docomo firmware? I will be moving back to Japan soon. I tried downloading the firmware with xperifirm and flashing it with flashtool but I ended up failing and bricking my phone and having to flash back to my original firmware.
I forgot to check all the boxes in wipe. Would that cause it to fail? Is the SO-03H firmware even compatible with the E6853? Appreciate any help in advance.
This is the error I'm getting:

Have the same issue, it seems not.
It is possible from Docomo/etc.. variant Z5 phones to use Global one but not the reverse.
I also tried to convert a ftf to flashable zip, but I always get "failed to map file" in TWRP.

Yeah it's very odd. Seems to be the same hardware but for some reason only works one way and not the other. Possibly some part of the firmware could be modified to work on the global version but that's beyond me.
You plan to get a domoco subscription or roaming your current one ?
It should work anyway (at least phone calls and internet)

Subscription. I never roam even when travelling. Here in Taiwan, all phones are sold unlocked with removable sim cards. So I usually apply for a temporary sim card or WiFi rental box when I go abroad. Since I'll be living in Japan and going with Docomo, I thought I'd flash over to the Docomo firmware to avoid any issues. I guess it's not that necessary.

F3115 sim unlocked no LTE

Hello everybody, I'm new to sony phones but not to android rooting.
I have bought a second hand xperia XA 3115 that was locked to vodafone australia, got the code and when i put a telstra sim it works but not in 4g. The APN settings can't be modified (when I save it says that i can't ).. Do you guys had the same expeience?
I am open to try a different rom (got the files and the unlock code for the boot loader) but I didn't go for it as I rather collect more informations before I jump into it as the bootloader it says not unlockable. Is that a workaround for that (backing up before the dmr) so I can root it and hopefully gain the ability to modify the APN?
Thank you for your precious time, thank you XDA family for the endless fun you provide
Gabriel
Managed to get the data working after a full reset but nos stays on 3g and at times goes to h+ but not 4g. Speedtest gives 19 mb Gonna test next days. I would like to undestand tho if there's a way to root it even with boot locked.
thank you!

Can you post exactly what the message is when you try to save settings, and it says you can't... Also, I guess you tried Settings > more > mobile networks > preferred network type?
Hi, it does save but the option APN on/of is faded and can't do much. It takes but just 3g. Having a chat with a telstra operator right now but they don't know shiat!
Weird, phone was locked Vodafone now using telstra. They have no idea and now not even MMS or sms are working.

Did you already do 'download Internet and mms settings' from data options? Maybe sim card is funky...
How do you do that? Sim is 3 months old perfectly working on another phone. Tried millions of APN settings but no luck, I can save them but no 4g no sms MMS. I've also read of people not solving with root I am waiting to do that as don't know if I can root it easy due to locked bootloader.
If that helps
Flash the Custom AU firmware via Flashtool/xperia firm,
there is no need to unlock bootloader unless you need root which can be done after update & phone working.
the Vodafone firmware is still behind in its updates, the custom AU does not have all the carrier branding &
works across all carriers here,
Below is the latest N version details for the (F3115)
Device: Xperia XA (F3115)
CDA: 1302-4361
Market: Australia
Operator: Customized AU
Network: GENERIC
Version: 33.3.A.0.131 / R2B
Size: 1.76 GB
If you just want to update MM use the custom AU version for that and not the Vodafone one,
and remember if you have problems use Sony PC companion to restore the phone back to factory
default and start again, BUT PC companion will not restore phone if you have unlocked bootloader
in that case use sonys Emma or Flashtool to do it.

Installing global rom to Xperia 5 AU

Is this will be ok?, because Xperia 5 have 128GB and AU version have 64GB.
anyone have tried it?
Please don't flash if yours is a different model as it may break your phone. Only of the same specs model.

when I hear the word AU,I think that you are from indonesia tercinta merdekalah katanya
Huh. Please don't attempt to do it. My Xperia 5 bricked after doing it. And since the phone had some USB issues, getting into flash mode again was very difficult and consumed around 2 hours fiddling with the volume keys. Because the red light just blinks every 2 seconds or so. No green light after connecting USB while pressing volume down. Finally when I got it in flash mode, flashed the SOV41 AU version which brought the device back to life.
No harm in trying it (in my experience). Just give it a try and if it (bricks) doesn't boot, force shut it down, put it in flash mode, and reflash the original ROM with NewFlasher, (Don't use FlashTool) and boom, back to working again.
Edit: why have I just replied to an almost 3 year old thread at 00:53 in the morning... Good damn it lol.
ROMs that I tried but failed :
SO-01M NTT DOCOMO JP - Signature error, not even flashed.
J8210 Customized UK - Bricked
901SO SoftBank JP - Bricked
All I was trying for to use 4G network as Jio Sim works only in 4G. Even though a toggle was available in the AU version to enable 4G, it didn't worked. It can't even connect to network by manually selecting. And 4636 method don't work.

Replace AU oem files with attached files. Flash with new flasher. Probably no AU messaging app after flash. so you need to install either google messages or use attached au original message app apk.

Great. It worked. Also bloatware removed. More like a Global ROM with VoLTE.
i tried to flash global firmwares on my xperia 5ii softbank, but there is not network. Tried flashing AOSP roms, still no network. Anyway to get out of this japanese rom. I tried replacing the OEM files, still no luck.

You could try editing the XML file in a global firmware file to trick your docomo variant into accepting it when flashing it. Don't know if it will work though. I have done something similar with a Hong Kong variant of a Z3 a while ago and it had a few problems connecting to the mobile network afterwards.
Before anything though, I recommend reading about about backing up the TA partition and DRM keys first as once they are lost, they are gone forever.
Do you have any video
No video, but here's a similar thread about the Z3 where someone flashed D6633 firmware onto a D6683 device thus making it possible to install a custom built for a D6633 afterwards. https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/q-sony-xperia-d6683.3167196/
Here's a thread about backing up your DRM keys before they are forever lost: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/root-nougat-32-3-a-2-33-e6833-e6853-e6883-1apr2017.3437902/
