Galaxy S4 SGH-I337 never activated with the carrier, now out of the country - General Questions and Answers

I bought a brand new AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4 SGH-I337, but I never activated it while in the US. Now I live in South America and cannot find a way to unlock it without it becoming region locked.
Is there anyway I can unlock this device now?
I appreciate all the help I can get, since I am desperate to use it and I cannot.
Thank you for your help!

[Q] Are Nexus S carrier locked or not in Canada?

I currently own a Samsung Galaxy S1 from Bell and I consider buying a refurbished Nexus S from Kooko as per the offering in the link below.
http://mobilesyrup.com/2012/01/19/refurbished-nexus-s-hitting-koodo-mobile-tomorrow-for-200/
Now, I searched the forum but I'm still not convinced all Nexus S phones are carrier unlocked and since I want to use it with my Bell SIM card, it has to be... or else I need to know how to unlock it.
So, can anyone confirm that canadian Nexus S are carrier unlock ?
Thanks in advanced
All GSM Nexus S phones are unlocked. It is likely that you just need to change the APN settings from Koodo to Bell.
That's what I wanted to hear!

Unlocking Verizon galaxy s3 for Canadian provider fido. Can it be done?

Hey guys.
I have a close friend in Canada that does not have an upgrade available and their birthday is coming up... I can get another galaxy s3 otherwise. Is it possible to unlock the Verizon galaxy s3 and have it work in Canada with the service provider fido? Do I have to get an unlock code or buy one? The phone is already rooted etc.. if that matters at all. Thanks.

Unlocked Samsung s7 edge availability?

Wanting to order a unlocked Samsung s7 edge for AT&T. Don't want to get stuck with a locked down phone like the AT&T Samsung s5 I have. Been reading about the sim card locking to the network. And about getting a code to unlock the phone. Like to have the option to root/mod my s7 in the future. Am I just better off to wait it out?
First off what do you mean by locked? AT&T will unlock a fully paid phone from it's network upon request to be used on any other GSM carrier. If you want an unlocked phone with unlocked bootloader your best bet is to buy a T-Mobile variant as it has Snapdragon 820 and open bootloader. The Global unlocked version of the device is unlocked but is also Exynoss 8890 so less likely to get ROMs or root.

Not every international s7 phone comes fully unlocked. Some are locked to certain regions of the world or country. Make sure to ask from a seller in email if it will work on your country before ordering. Some will have to open the box to make a call or something as part of some unlocking process. At least that was the case when I got my s6

Except for the "Global" version which is g390/5F. The phone are not region locked this time but you should check the bands to make sure it's compatible with your carrier.
Thanks for the repls . I live in the Eastern US. By Unlocked, I really just want to be able to root my s7. I don't see me leaving AT&T any time soon. I had an International unlocked Samsung s4, never had any trouble with rooting and installing CROMS. Bought the Samsung s5 striaght from At&T and never could get it rooted. For me, being able to root and play with the CROMS is a big deal.

Dumb question...

I'd like to buy a Galaxy S6 Edge SM-G925T on Ebay, but listing says that the phone is locked to T-Mobile. I'm with Metro PCS, so would I still be able to use this phone on the Metro network without having to unlock it?
Thanks in advance for your help!
you have go to a tmobile store and ask them to unlock the phone
