[D2305] CWM-Based Recovery 6.0.4.6 + ROOT for Xperia M2 (Single SIM) [20140510] - Sony Xperia M2

This is a CWM-Based Recovery 6.0.4.6 Touch Recovery for Xperia M2 (Single SIM)!
Credits and special thanks to Koush and everyone else involved in Cyanogenmod project!
[ info ]
This Recovery is built from CWM 6.0.4.6 sources!
I dont have this device with me and I dont intend to buy one... a friend wanted root on his phone so I created this to help him out...
all the testing was done remotely on users devices...
@mods
I know that there is no device specific forum for this so I have posted thread here in Z2 general section... please move it to the device sub-forum once its created...
P.S: I know that some people think that its no big deal to have recovery/root on unlocked bootloader, and I do agree with that upto certain extent... but now that you have recovery/root you can do a LOT more... just unlocking bootloader wont give you anything!!! devs need to lay the foundations for further development... i have seen so many devices with unlockable bootloader and without root/recovery, but no one bothered to create recovery/root for those users...

hey guys I have updated my Xperia SDCARD Mounter app to support this phone!
what does the app do?
It will allow you to connect the external SDCARD as a USB Mass Storage device....
so basically the sdcard will act as a USB stick/pen drive...
you can use the classic/advanced copy manager (TotalCopy, etc) which gives u greater level of control and possibly better copy speeds (though this is debatable)...
also the internal sdcard will be now be easily mounted on linux devices which have issues recognizing MTP connection...
hope you like it!
regards,
DooMLoRD

nice!
but there is no stock ftf with root implemented
because root is neccesary for many aspects...and some xperia devices have "Bootloader unlock allowed: No"

Differences between ST23a and ST23i are different 3G frequencies. ST23a are phones usually bought in American Continent (I think north of America).
And ST23i is usually bought in Europe and other parts of the world. It is reported that if you flash one version on another everything will work.
EDIT: I stopped supporting this thread and deleted all Xperia Miro files from my HDD. I uploaded all files here one last time if they are useful to someone.

I think someone mention that you have to add the loader.sin as on attachment to make it work.
Use 7zip to open ftf file and drag it to the 7zip window
loader.zip
and try this, but I get the same error.
flashing 4.0.4 - 11.0.A.5.5 its ok!

Do you unzip it before place into ftf ?
Make sure you choose the option not to verify when you flash.

Hello guys, I am from HTC Explorer community. We are currently developing an ION kernel and everything except Camera is working. For Camera, we need a JB compatible liboemcamera.so library file. While searching I found that Xperia E also uses a 3.15MP camera sensor and comes with JB. So, their is a high probably that its liboemcamera.so may support our 3.15MP camera sensor too. Can someone please upload just the liboemcamera.so file present in your ROM ? Thanks

Thanks a lot for this! Does it slow down the device like on the Xperia Z2 smartphone?
Do you think it is possible to root the tablet without bootloader unlocking?
I don't see any slow down. The bootloader has to be unlocked.

Thanks DooMLoRD. Just installed your recovery and all is working fine . Its impossible to work on android without root, if only for all the f*ing advertisements. Cheers!

Well, it is a valid question as the only difference between the two is the amount of storage.

Sorry but i don't know what you mean does It wotk or Not?
My tab is WIFI ONLY but IT has 32 GB storage and Not 16gb
I hope you can give me a better answer!!
Awesome job! Thanks guys. This was the main thing holding me back from buying. Now I just have to wait for the price to drop a bit.
Could you please put a link to how to do a ta backup in the op?
Sent from my GT-P5110 using Tapatalk
This here voids the warranty, so people who want to retain warranty are advised to either wait until a root method without bootloader unlocking is available (then you can backup / restore the TA partition) or stay away from rooting.

I'm wondering the same thing. @DooMLoRD, will this also work on the 32GB non-LTE model (SGP512?).
Thanks for your awesome work.
It should work on any WiFi only variant SGP51x
Can someone test and let me know?
Sent from my C6902 using xda app-developers app
ok i will test it and post a replay
yes it works great thanks DooMLoRD and all others
confirmed working on SGP512.
Could please those who rooted report (perhaps after a few days of usage) whether
- the device is a bit slower than unrooted
- the device runs hotter and consumes more battery than unrooted.
These are the issues on the Z2 phone, it should be interesting to know whether these issues are also present on the tablet.
Thanks!
I don't see any of these issues
Me neither..

Any idea when this will be out to the LTE variant?

Request for CyanogenMod: Official Support for the Xperia M2

This is the link to the post: http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?/topic/94355-Cyanogenmod-On-Sony-Xperia-M2
Hope we can have CM11 on our M2

I can bring CM 11 for M2. It has near about same msm8226 board as of T2 ultra and we've already booted cm 11 on t2 ultra(haven't released since we need to resolve some problems). But I don't have this device so it'll pretty difficult to do without the device. I am pretty sure I can bring this if I can be provided the device, if not, I need some guys who know how to use adb and can test the builds accordingly
EDIT: Proof of booting ROM for T2U-

I'd like to help, but I'm not able to unlock the bootloader right now, it's locked from carrier!
Hopefully, my carrier Vodafone it's sending liberation codes for free for anyone who wants them right now, so I'm going to wait until I receive it and then I will send the phone to Sony so that they change the bootloader unlock allowed from no to yes :victory:
However, I've noticed that the Unlock Bootloader webpage at sony Developers has just changed, now it's more simple and.. they've REMOVED the M2, incredibly, check this:
Hope they add again the M2 to their list so that I can unlock it in some weeks

[ROOT][LB] Root For Xperia E3 D2202 With SuperSU Included (18.5.A.0.26)

Now i will share how to root Sony Xperia E3 D2202 with SuperSU included
This is very simple guide and work correctly with my devices
This is step for guide :
1. Download kingoroot.apk and try to get root with that app
Download
2. After root you will get app called "SuperUser" from kingoroot, it same like kinguser before
3. Next you will need to update binary SuperUser. and update it
4. After that you need to change binary from Kingoroot to SuperSU with this step
(link instruction : Link
- Download All requirement file from that link, like :
+ Replace kinguser with superuser.zip (Download
+ Download Android Emulator, you can find it on playstore
+ File manager
- after download extract replace_kinguser_with_superuser.zip to your internal storage and move folder called "nrw" inside .zip and move it to your internal storage
- after that open terminal emulator and execute this command :
Su
sh /sdcard/mrw/root.sh
- wait untill SuperSU app is launch and update binary from supersu. after that reboot your device
- after reboot, you need to disable Sony RIC service if you on locked bootloader
+follow this instruction from @forty two for his great job link thread
- after complete untill last step, and finish . you need to go to last step
- install root explorer or another root browser and go to system/app and search superuser from kingoroot and delete that app
- after that reboot it and done you have full root with supersu app inside
okay that's simple guide from me, if anyone have problem just ask me again.
this report work for D2202 and maybe will work on another type too

Hi, Just simple question, what to do next after root?, my current experience with this kind of things was with Mango ( xperia mini pro Sk 17), with that, after I did root and unlocked the bootloader, I can install kernel and custom room because there are lot of them are available for mango, but there are few available for the D2202 as long as I know.., so.., what to next after I root my E3 D2202?

Ya I know D2202 is not getting any modification or AOSP ROM. I'm just help anyone that want to root this device [emoji3]. If I, I will install xposed module, greenify and do some modification on system. Because this is full root method and you won't worry again about Sony RIC problem. Simple answer is enjoy full root on stock ROM

Yes, just like what I said it . You can modify system, if you want to uninstall Sony bloatware app. I can suggest you to use Titanium Backup app. You can uninstall almost all system app, and that's safety for you

yes, honestly i know about that . cause that i'm port x-reality to our E3 that work on locked bootloader. and this is not my primary device, this is my little brother device. so i don't want to make any big change cause i don't have full permission of this device .
my primary device is xperia m and that's on my development. this is full root method and i've include Sony RIC Killer inside to avoid bootloop when try to mount system partition
Thanks for your suggest
