Hello,
I would like to know what material is on the back of the white Nexus 5? Is it the same like the black Nexus 5 or is it different?
It's different.. Its kinda glossy and doesn't grip as good as the black one.

That is awesome because I saw that on black ones the soft touch plastic is easy to scratch. Is it harder to scratch this material?
Can't comment on the white one but my black n5 is holding up pretty good.. There's not a single scratch on the back... Using the phone naked almost all the time.

Ok, thanks for the answers.
I personally like the matte feel rather than the white. So I opted for the back and never looked back...

Me too. If it was an all white nexus 5, I would've considered it but the Panda thing is simply not for me :silly:
I have white, father has black. Feels easier to grip the black one. White one looks nice with the glossy finish on the sides, but scratches easier I think (at least it has with me). I was initially going to buy the black but I ordered white instead just because it had faster shipping.

The white one is not glossy at all. The material is matte. Maybe it's different by region.

The glossy part of the white is the black sides. The backplate is a sort of matte eggshell finish, however it is not the same grippy texture as the black.
Scratch wise they're both susceptible.
i have the red one, which has the same material as the black one.
i never had a white one in my hands, but its said thats its using a "glossy" plastic (i'm thinking of typical samsung, like nexus s), while the black and red ones are using a "softtouch" plastic. i have no idea what exactly "soft touch" is supposed to mean, i expected something gum-like wich a lot of grip. however, its regular plastic, which is very very very slightly rough. a smooth roughness. it feels like its just about NOT glossy/slippery. and it looks matte.

Actually the red is the same egg shell finish as the white, except it also extends around the sides versus the glossy sides on the white.
Only the black has the rubberized soft touch finish.

$12.99- Cruzerlite Bugdroid Case
This case is $12.90 and comes in many colors: smoke, red, pink, orange, blue, purple, teal, green, clear, and black. If you want to check the cases out go ahead and check the description for a link to Amazon.
Design
The first thing I noticed about this case is that installation is a breeze. The back has a nice modern design. Side by side the Diztronic TPU, the Cruzerlite looks much classier. The grey case and black phone gives you a nice contrast, especially with the silver buttons.
On the back we see a grey color, transparent “circuits”, and Cruzerlite branding. On the top we see a cut out for the 8 megapixel camera and on the bottom we see a cut out for the speakers. The Nexus logo and LG are both noticeable through the back of the case.
One of my favorite features is that it won’t attract any pocket lint and you can wipe away any residue. The case is a little slippery in the hand, but it isn’t too noticeable.
Protection
One of the benefits to the Cruzerlite case is that it has a lip, which protects the display from damage when placed or dropped face first. This case won’t protect the Nexus 4 from big drops, but it’s shock absorbent and will protect from minor nicks and bumps.
Final Verdict
The final veridct is that for $12.90 this is one of the best TPUs on the market. The modern unique design gives it a much better look than other competing cases and the grippy back is definitely a plus. With tons of different colors to choose from, you can’t go wrong with the Cruzerlite Bugdroid case. However, if this case isn’t for you, be sure to check out my reviews of the Poetic Atmosphere and Diztronic TPU.
Is the entire thing TPU or is the back a different material?

Yes. I'm putting them up now.
Here is pictures of the black one. I have another one I might put on eBay since I don't need two black cases. They sent me one for free for the bs shipping problems I had with them.

Is the finish on the back matte/grippy? Or does it feel smooth and plasticky?

The back looks to be a matte finish but idk if its grippy. You just feel the groves from the design and it feels smooth more then anything. But i think it feels pretty good overall.

I agree with this. The case is neither slippery nor grippy.
here are some more pics. this is the smoked version.
I'm interested in this case, does nfc work with this case on?
Yep, I have the clear one and the quality is great. NFC works just fine (use it every day as a car dock)

I searched and didn't see a review for this case. I picked it up yesterday at T-Mobile I had a Ringke Slim prior to this case, I liked the Ringke Slim but I am so paranoid about dropping my phone and not having enough protection, primarily the top and bottom and the corners of the phone.
The Body Glove offers full protection for the Nexus 4. The case is a hybrid hard/soft case. The inside of the case is a "durable gel material" which extends out to the outer edges of the case so that if the phone drops face down it won't land on the glass. There is also gel material on the outside of the case covering the power and volume buttons as well as the back of the case for some slightly added grip and so when the case is placed down the hard plastic won't be touching whatever its laying on.
The case feels rather good in the hand as it does not add any significant weight or thickness to the phone which is awesome. Body Glove did a great job on keeping the ergonomics of the phone while the case is on. My only real complaint is Body Glove could have added more grip to the case. The little groves they added to the back of the case helps some but I think it would help with grip more if the groves were vertical and not horizontal.
Will add more pics of the case on the phone as well as comparison pics of the Ringke Slim.

My review is that it looks hideous.
Great review!!! It really don't look bad in person but I dont think any case really looks great anyway, to each their own I guess.
I also own this case and I have to say it's amazing, I feel like my phone is very protected and looks great. I was looking on amazon for weeks for a good case but I felt everything else was really cheep, the nova is a great looking high quality case and I wouldn't get anything else!
it looks stromtrooper-ish
they have an all black version if this particular one doesn't suit your taste. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-BODY-GL...969187?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item23284cada3
Sad tht in India, we have less choice to get accessories , as I have got the phone through relative living in India.
I picked up the same case and I love it. Buttons feel good. Full all around protection. Color choice was pink or white and that's the only draw back imo

This case looks so nice , im debating on getting the black one or the white. Op could you post more pics of the case on your phone please?
Would like to see pictures of the black case if someone has gotten it yet.
I just ordered the black one from daydeal. Com 22.99 free shipping. I'll post pics once I get it.

I just picked this up today. So far it fits great and the buttons feel good I just wish the edges weren't as boxy.
Anyways I took some pictures for you. The one with the screen turned on shows what looks like white splotches around the edge, but that's a reflection of something because the case shows some chrome on top and bottom. I couldn't get good lighting and the tablets camera sucks with no flash.

This case is just like the seidio active just with better fit due to more structure from the shell. The seidio is nice but doesn't have enough points of grip making the silicone underneath move a lot and letting in dust and particles.

Can anyone compare it to the Ballistic case?
Does it give more protection?is the quality better?thanks
Thanks to all providing pictures.
How do the buttons feel ?
The inner silicone gel case looks thinner than similar dual layer cases (and i presume it cannot be separated from the outer shell as well) . Does it feel like it will give enough protection for a 4/5 ft concrete fall ?
Ooooh! This case is nice! I wish I would've bought this before I bought my Ringke Fusion.

I think the white one can only be bought directly at a tmobile store.
The black one is really nice, had a plain black body glove for my HTC one s the same kind and it had great protection I really recommend the body glove ones

Hi guys,
I would just like to see the popularity of these skins for XDA members.
Please vote.
i don't own one, but the black looks the best to me by far
I own a titanium, looks really good!

Look at the attached pics. Its more grey-ish than black-ish. I will take a pic in daylight
Why a new thread when you see so much people raving about it already?
The black titanium is closer to a gunmetal color with the slightest bit of bronze when viewed under light.
You won't regret getting one of these, that's for sure!
Finally got the black titanium one and I do like it so far.
What I don't like though, are the sharp edges. I've sanded them down a bit but they're still not perfect to the touch.
I can feel the edges cut into the hand a bit while holding the phone.
It's not a dealbraker but would be better if the edges were bevelled somewhat.

I too had the same issue when I first applied the skin. But I used my thumb nail to rub and de-burr the edge of the skin to take the sharp edge off. I now cannot feel the skin on the phone at all when I hold it.

Hey guys, I just saw an unboxing video of white N5 and the bezel to my eyes look shiny
Can anyone confirm that? I want it to be all matte

Yes, unfortunately the black and white have different sides and backplates, the black seems to be a more traditional softtouch material like on the black One X while the white seems to be a more polycarbonate type material, the sides of the white also seem to be a Galaxy S type plastic, the white looks nicer to me from the back atleast, but the Black one is slightly more nice to hold, both have good build quality though! Hope this helped (Btw, im in the UK, we've had it since the launch, you can go in and pick one up from the local phone shop

Thanks a lot...I'm a bit unsatisfied with the design they used in the white version but it doesn't matter to much, I plan to use a case. And just for the record I did manage to order from Play Store the white model and also bought a SPIGEN ULTRA HYBRID case on Amazon. Can't wait for it

Same set up with Spigen screen protector for $8.58 from amazon. Can't wait.
I was going to get the black one but cpw messed up my reservation so ended up with white and have to say I'm actually quite pleased they did. The gloss sides give the effect of the glass and edge all being one solid piece and the back doesn't instantly become covered in slimey fingerprints as the black one they had on display appears to do. The different material should also avoid it looking dirty very quickly and a quick wipe with a baby wipe should be all it needs remove any grime that does eventually build up.
Think I'll be staying commando.

I currently have a black nexus but have to get it exchanged due to a fault. I am considering getting the white one instead.
I wondered if the white one had the same rubber texture feel to it and how durable it is to marks etc. Does it mark easily or pick up scuffs at all?
Thanks

The white version has a different back to the black. It's harder and smoother, so feels a bit slippery. In any case I'd put a case on it soon as if I where you. I've done that along with a screen protector so it shouldn't receive any marks on it.

The white has a smoother finish, very similar to the keys on a white Apple keyboard. Color wise it's not a true white, looks more like eggshell white to me.
