Kitkat is having SD card bug, it doesn't let you to modify he SD card data unless it is from the app folder itself, try search "kitkat sdcard" from Google...
I would say if you haven't update to kitkat, try stay at 4.3 for now if you don't have root access on your phone. If you have root access you would need to update the platform.xml file to correct the SD card permission... It is just so annoying...

How can I update to insert coin in my situation?

Since you are on Hboot1.54 and S-OFF, Update your Hboot to 1.57. Then flash kairi's twrp 2.7.0.x if you don't have it. Download and flash IC2.5.0. After that manually remove the un-needed NFC files through root manager or use SVN to do it.
Lastly take note of this.
I guess this help is quite complete?:victory:

I have gone from TrickDroid to stock Rom because the OTA update.
Unlocked my bootloader and tried to root my device like with the 4.0.3
, but I didn't succed.
The SuperSu app is nowhere
Can anyone make the root for(4.0.4) or I must go again to stock(4.0.3) to root my device and flash a rom?
Sent from my stock HTC One S c2
You have to unlock your bootloader and then flash TWRP with fastboot. Then you can flash the supersu bineries. Thatstge way I rooted mine.
Sent from my HTC One S using Trickdroid v3.0.0
I tried that.The same,nothing
I think that with 4.0.4,that's not possible..

1. Unlock bootloader
2. Flash TWRP
3. By PC opened the bat. file from superboot r1.zip(bootloader mode)
No supersu
Correct me if I'm wrong in the steps

BEFORE:
HTC DESIRE S
STOCK ROM
V 2.3.5
S OFF
HBOOT 2.02.0002
Any help would be appreciated.
AFTER:
HTC Desire S S510e - SAGA PVT SHIP S-OFF
Hboot | HBOOT-2.00.2002 (ex 6.98.1002)
Radio | 20.76.30.0835U_3831.19.00.110
Current ROM | SVHD v1.7.0 | ICS 4.0.4 | Sense 4.1

do you have a custom recovery?
Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk 2
what worked for me is the downgrade of the HBOOT version first...then root
Since you're already S-OFF, this couldn't be easier. Just download 4ext recovery, flash it via fastboot, and find a zip file of Superuser or SuperSU and flash that from within your new recovery.
Thanks guys for response, can you give me a link straight to that so i cant read so many tutorials?
I just want to be rooted

If you're S-OFF, just flash a custom ROM of your choice, and root will come with it.

Hmmmm but how to install recovery? And like flash custom rom. For good battery and no bloat?
Please help
Sent from my HTC Butterfly using Tapatalk 4 Beta
If your butterfly is root, you have a custom recovery.
To install a recovery, you must go in fastboot mode in bootloader and type "fastboot flash recovery recovery-name.img"

You could flash the rooted ota that was released on Phandroid.com. you need to be s-off though.

Yes but not with Windows with Linux (Kubuntu which is a flavor of Ubuntu)
I couldn't get adb to recognize my phone so since I was dualbooting Linux already I used that. If you need help let me know.

Good to here i have one htc desire (the old crappy phone, in my drawer. I think i migh put stock rom to that one soon.
But rith now im trying to fix my sgs 4 mini , bought it yesterday =)
Ah, when i have problems, first i try my windows laptop, if not i'm using my Crunchbang laptop (its debian based, my favourite for sure)
:good:
I high recommended you Moonshine S-off with Linux

I backed up ROM and after complete it says failed. But when I reboot my device, the back ups are in my es file explorer. Under back ups..why does this happen? Is it safe to say I could use these back ups. Twrp 2.7 stock ROM 5.18 firmware
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
What rom was that? Maybe it has issues with that particular recovery. Try again or switch to twrp 2630 (stock or modified).
The 5.18 ruu.. 4.2.2 android version
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
So stock sense 5 right? In that case just use either recoveries I mentioned in my first post and everything should be working fine.
OK. Will do. I figured that but wanted to make sure.
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
P.s. the back ups do exist in the twrp folder. Are they not usable? Lol
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
I would suggest deleting them since restoring that possesses a real risk. Can you verify md5?
I recommend just a backup by new recovery and that's it (if it finishes).
Good news. I tried to back it up again with 2.7 twrp. But this time I chose generate md5 sum and it successfully backed up
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk
Well, then it's working and you can probably restore that backup.
Why does it do that anyways?
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk
Don't know. What're your bootloader details? It's rather weird that it works with md5 and doesn't without. You should report it in that recovery's thread.

That's firmware, not the bootloader. Bootloader is that white screen with your hboot/radio and other details. And that's not the right thread to post that question, post it here.
