Interesting, what is this app?
Anyway, if you deny root permission for this app, it will treat as the device is not root.

Apps can understand if a device is rooted. My banks application -which does not require root rights obviously- gives warning that it is unsafe if the phone is rooted.

Hey all
I'm tryin to install xposed framework. But I keep on getting the error "Failed to get root access"
I'm a noob here, so i'm not too sure what is going on. I am rooted on omnirom using twrp bootloader. I'm pretty sure I've done everything right as far as rooting.
Any ideas?
thanks in advanced.
Can other apps get root access? Titanium backup for example?

Are you using the ART runtime? Because Xposed is not compatible with it.
EDIT: I missed where this was a root problem. But my statement still stands. lol

hey guys thanks for replying.
Titanium backup works. When I installed it right now, SuperSU asked for permission. I granted.
I noticed that for Fast/Auto app install: it has a red x and says HyperShell needed. Does that have anything to do with it?
And I am not runnning ART runtime lol

Weird, I reinstalled SuperSU and installed the SuperSU free app and now it works. What gives? haha
Thanks for your guys' quick responses! Great forum!
I am an Italian student, and I want to focus my exam in this application.
Hidden Root allows you to hide the root to all applications and then later to enable it again.
Now I'm implementing the ability to hide the root permissions only when you run an application
( "it works", but not as I want).
Therefore I want that you test my app and then report to me all issues that you can find. Thanks for your support.
Here the link of the app [v1.0-beta_e]

No because they use safety net google's api. And the system check of your device is server-side. So for now I don't know how to do this.

There currently is no way to hide root. If we had support for Magisk it could've worked... But both supersu and phh have outdated hide binaries.
Besides unrooting of course.
Hello
Recently, I tried to install the Netflix app in my device, FRD-L04, and notice it didn't appear in the search in the Play Store. Then, I proceed to search for it using my PC, found it and when trying to install to my device, there was the message that the app was not compatible with my phone.
I'm currently running update B385 but I believe I had the app when I was using B360. Does anyone else have experienced the same issue? I had to go to Netflix webpage and from there, download the APK for old Android versions (4.4 and later).
That's because you have your phone rooted.
Simply search and download the early version of Netflix (Netflix-4.16.1 build 15145) and you got it running.

As far as I know, my phone is not rooted. Just an unlocked bootloader, unless that counts as being rooted. Which would be weird, because I can still install Netflix in my old Nexus 7, which is not only booloader unlocked, but also flashed with a custom rom.
Just checked with a couple root checker apps and both of them tell me that my device is not rooted.
"... Just an unlocked bootloader..." That's Why!

Like Crake said, Netflix blocks downloading from devices with unlocked bootloaders, rooted or not. You can grab the latest APK from APKMirror, it should work fine.

And what about my Nexus 7 (2012) which is also unlocked and with a custom aosp rom?
Not trying to make a mess out of this. Just pointing out that it is weird that some devices do get blocked and other don't. I'll just download the apk and keep going. Thanks for your answers.

im on rooted frd-l04 , i downloaded from http://www.apkmirror.com/ and installed works fine

Check the SafetyNet status of your Nexus 7. Open Play Store settings, you should see at the downmost part that your device is certified.

In case of Snapchat u can download app but u can't login in. If ur saftynet is tripped then u can't download apps like Netflix and u also can't use payment solutions like Android Pay.
People aren't concerned abt safety net to protect themselves from attackers it is more for the proper functioning of apps and services on ur phone.

Yes, uninstalling Magisk will result in your device going in no-root stage. Uninstalling Xposed doen't affect device's root-stage.
