That would require root and/or a custom recovery. Vzw and att s5 has neither.

Got stuck at Verizon screen
I tried this on stock/rooted and when I rebooted the phone it would hang on the Verizon Screen. I still got blinking LED and the Verizon Logo animation but it wouldn't go any further. To fix it I had to restore a backup. Any ideas what would cause it?

It should work all variants, I pulled and Modded international files, so it works via all S5. If on odex rom, just make services.odex to services.odex.bak, don't do jar file. If you can, send me your Verizon SecSettings.apk so I can make special version in case. Try v1 and v2, see if same result.

Alrighty. I finally had time to try that. I changed services. Odex to .bak and I got a button in my settings window, but no tile. But it seems to let me activate it. I'll need to set up a test file to see if it works. I don't think speed test will work well in testing it.

Just refer to my Quick tile activate thread in Sprint S5 general thread, easy walk through for quick tile
This is easily done by using an app like App Cut to create a desktop shortcut to the Download Boost activity which already exists on the Verizon variant.

Yep been answered before.
You get it when you flash a non 100% original Odin package. So like route 66.
To make it go away you have to flash the completely stock Samsung image and do the non Odin root in the dev section.

If you use the "debugfs" exploit, once you obtain root, the first thing you should do is rename /system/app/SysScope.apk and you should be good.
My method was based off analysis done by Ralekdev, which according to him there is a process scanner as part of SysScope.apk that will look for apps running as root outside a list of 'whitelisted' apps.
To your question, yes it is a bit of what came first the chicken or the egg -- but I'm assuming this process scanner is not constantly running so if you just do it right away before running other apps as super user regularly there is little chance it will be tripped.
I used the odin way to root my device and the GPS does not work so I received my CLN device and need to get rid of the custom boot. Is there any other way to get rid of it?
Custom recoveries are what triggers the unlock icon. If you flash the stock recovery, the unlock icon should disappear.
There are actually other ways to get the padlock notification than custom recoveries. I've got it from modifying my framework-res.apk file, and you can get it from deleting and modifying system apps, changing ROMS through Odin and so on. It's really not a big deal unless you need to clear it for warranty related purposes. If you do, follow the guide on development, or get a jig for 3 bucks on ebay.
I just followed the guide in the development sections. Everything is A-OK and I'm ready to send back in the old one. The CLN device seems to be in pretty good shape.

So yesterday I was running cm9 and I decided to flash a different Rom so I went onto recovery and wipe the phone and then went ahead and flashed
The redemption rom. I went ahead and waited for about 10 minutes to see if it works reboot the samsung logo came on last for like 2 seconds then the screen went blank. So now I into Odin to see if I could flash the Stock image.. when I tried that the first step goes through then I go to the second step and it fails. Here are some pics of my computer and my phone. Never ever do that, get your sources from here, you might have repartioned your phone which is not recoverable. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1762709 go here and scroll down to return to stock.
L710 is the model number of the Sprint GSIII. Hopefully you can get it back with section 2 of the link posted above.
If that doesn't work use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1840030 and it will unbrick your phone.

Glad you got it working again. Just so happened to recognize the L710 model number from modifying the build.prop to get Google Wallet working. Always be sure that anything you flash for the Galaxy SIII is for the Verizon specific I535. They all look the same but can put you up #(*%*'s creek if you're not careful. I'd suggest avoiding anything that's not specifically in the Verizon Galaxy SIII sub-forums.

I haven't been prompted to update to VRBMF1 yet and haven't manually updated. I am still on VRBMB1. Ready to try Beans' one click root method but not sure whether to take the update first or not. Anyone have any suggestions?
Pretty sure it'll work, it doesn't really matter if you're going to end up flashing a custom rom; but it's all preference maybe if you want the new modems just take the update.

Can you provide info if the one click method works for you. I am on VRBMF1. Never rooted before.
Just root. The newest update had signal and battery issues, along with many other issues. Verizon even pulled the OTA. Flashing a newer ROM will give you the newer features anyways, and it will be better.

It was incredibly easy. Only thing that tripped me up at first was that I didn't have the Samsung drivers installed on my PC. Since the thread didn't mention installing them I was assuming they weren't needed. You can get them here. Once I installed them and went through the steps in the thread, I was rooted and unlocked in a few seconds.

As usual kids, if you've rooted and put on a custom recovery or otherwise modified your ROM, DO NOT UPDATE.
And if you plan on rooting in the future, I also advise you to not update. See if the new version can be rooted with the current tools. Loki and the adb exploit have changed on some of the later versions.

Its not the firmware that came with the phone originally. It's the first OTA. I downloaded it. It's only the AP. No BL, CP, or CSC. So those will still be from PD3.
