Today I was out using my nav app and things seemed really laggy. Without thinking about it I held power button in until phone powered down, at the time I had about 60% and when phone came back on I had 11%? I powered down by way of the reboot menu 4 more time and every time I would get a little bit more until it just stopped at 39%. Has anyone else had this problem?
P.S phone seems to be ok after full charge.
Have you tried running the battery calibration app from the market place?

Battery calibration app does nothing to our phones. Ask entropy he's explained it before. Also I have had that as well, but it will come back slowly, but should still be charged again

Hard to tell it could just be a power management fail
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997R using XDA Premium App
well I let it get down to about 5% then gave it a full charge, and its working great now. funny how a battery pull and many restarts would not fix the problem.

I use battery calibration app from the market to wipe my battery stats after I fully charge my phone but when I change batteries it never shows full charge even though it is. Any suggestions?
I'm using PB 1.6 with T15 kernel

Wiping battery stats does nothing useful. More then likely the problem is from using generic batteries. I know when I switch to my Hyperion batteries. Try plugging in your phone or toggling airplane mode on and off.

Battery stats works for me when I switch roms... You don't want to wipe battery stats every time!
I don't know about you, but do you really need that extra 1~2% battery for a full 100%???
I have eb with faux kernel and usually I get it to 99 and in some cases 100%. Even at 100% I'm at 4175 mv or so when it should be at 4200mv.
Point is, your not going to miss that extra ~25mv out so of juice.
Check your voltage and let us know.

No what I'm saying is if I change my battery at 6% when I power back up it still says 6% at 4100 or so.

WIPING BATTERY STATS DOES NOTHING USEFUL. The only thing it does is clears the settings app that tells you what's using battery. Why do people never listen...

Does that on every reboot doesn't it? No need to get hostile
Sent from my LG-P999 using xda premium
I'm not getting hostile I'm simply stating it does nothing useful. This has been confirmed by Google engineers as well. So wiping the battery stats will not change battery reading.

Hi. I have recently flashed cm9 on my galaxy s 4g,and it's amazing. My only major issue Is that the battery drains from 100% to 0 in less than 4 hours with lite use. Is there something I'm forgetting to do or is it a typical issue? Thank you

Battery calibration.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using xda app-developers app
I've already tried that. I'm still having the same issues.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
Unfortunately, it could be a number of known "usual suspects", such as apps or possibly a 'rogue' app, signal strength (the more the phone has to seek connection, the more battery drain), try swapping your SIM, settings to help maintain acceptable battery discharge, wifi, Bluetooth, GPS, sync, are just a few things that could be the cause. You can try a full charge to full discharge until the phone powers down, then while off, charge fully and power back on to clear battery stats. Could be your battery as well...

Check the cpu scaling governor. Usually 'ondemand' will do a decent job of conserving battery power.
Also you can use the 'top' command from the terminal emulator to check for processes hogging the cpu.
Moved to Galaxy S 4G Q&A section. :good:
Battery calibration is a debunked myth.
AudioOut_1 suggests keypad clicks, or some other alert sound. Try reading the BBS thread for suggestions, posting your logs there if you're still puzzled.

i advice you try Gremlin Remover Step 1 and 2 (FIRST!) then if problem persists more on to step 3
EDIT : Gremlin Remover can be found on the development area or here you go: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1500427
Whatever

The battery might be dying. You should try another one because I noticed my stock battery started to stop lasting as long as it used to

I noticed a significant difference between the battery life of CM7 and CM9. 7 is really good with battery life. 9, however, shows the SCREEN as being the main drain of the battery...even if it's been on my desk all day.
Is this normal? Battery with just 1 hour already 87%? I mean, I've seen some screenshots of this phone lasting almost a day and still with 10% but mine reaches 8h with 20% already, what could it be? My phone is just 2 months old, is rooted, the bootloader is locked, that's all.

You need to dig into your apps and see what's causing the battery drain.
Look now? I was streaming a movie on Firefox but man all that battery gone so fast? There must be something else.

What is your screen-on time?
Greenify hibernates open apps. So it's similar ti iOs multitasking. App startup may take a littlt longr, but once you switch from one app to the next, the first one will end instead of staying in the background. I have big battery drains when ever I used google music with all the background tasks music is starting. So is witched to poweramp for music. You can even set arotation lock in poweramp.
My battery usually drops by 1 % per 45 minutes if the screen is off.
What I have though is, that if I reach about 35% battery after about 2 days, the batterry level drops significantly faster. So if I am on 35 %, it's getting time for a recharge. I never get a 3rd day out of my battery.
My battery barely last a day, I use Smart Actions and still no changes

Do you have the eb 40 aka MAXX version or the regular battery? Because all screenshots of long lasting battery is with the MAXX battery.

I have a RAZR HD XT925, not an Maxx, but I've seen some screenshots of this phone lasting almost 10hours and still with 10% I know it also depends on the use, but I wasn't using it that much when I took this screenshots.

Ok so what's your screen-on time? That is one of the greatest indicators of good or bad battery life.
I guess you're referring to this:
3h 12m 17s
Sorry for not uploading a Screenshot but the wont let me do it, dunno why.

This was today, battery lasted me since I went to college on the morning. I think it was because there was a "moderate use" of it, I did surfaced the web a little, used apps like Twitter, I think today was ok, although this is not the same when on Wi-Fi.

For that amount of screen-on time, your battery life seems about right.
I think it was the settings I changed on Smart Actions, it has really helped my battery life last longer so far.

The phone service is using about 31 % when idle, no calls made.
Can this be right? Anybody know what the problem could be?

I don't think it's common. Is your phone rooted ?
Did you install any app lately that have permissions for phone calls ?
You can try different optimization apps, if your phone is rooted...
Eg. Greenify, RAM manager, OnePowerguard, Systemcleanup
