Stumbled across this video today......
How to root samsung galaxy note 4 and install cwm…: http://youtu.be/x1_q9DL53wo
Anyone able to confirm or deny that it would be possible to do so? I will be getting the edge when it drops for AT&T would just like to know everyone's thought on this. Seeing how the note 4 and the note edge will have the same internals, it may be safe to assume that if this can be confirmed, we should be able to have a one click solution. I'm excited and waiting to get my hands on this awesome device.
You should know better then this.
The phone isn't even out yet. And that's a slide show not even a video.

Towelroot has been dead since a couple of weeks that it came out. The security has been patched your best bet is for chainfire to root although AT&T bootloader will be locked
Does not work on Att Note Edge 4.4. Says not compatible

It won't work.
This is for linux kernel 3.4.
Note Edge has linux kernel 3.10
Yeah, I can see that. Towel root, and kingo root, do nothing. Kingo try to root a bunch of different ways. Reboots the phone a few times. I've been watching the note 4 threads like a hawk. If someone was able to get a safe strap kind of thing working that would be fantastic. I just want root for xsposed and other awesome root apps. I remember when I got the note 3, it was a wait to finally get a root option. I'm sure sir Awesomeness Chainfire will come up with something. Till then I guess we have to wait. Still enjoy the phone and all the gawking people that want to see it.
http://www.oneclickroot.com/device/samsung-galaxy-note-edge-sm-n915a-att-kitkat/ so this came up in my daily search of the elusive root options for att users. Anyone able to confirm or deny that this would work? I have the .exe file and am kinda afraid to pull the trigger and see what happens. Sooooooooo if anyone wants to try it out and let the rest of us now how it went, that would be great.

I've read through a lot of threads....some are vague, some don't post specific ROMs they are on, etc., and I'm unsure as to the answer to this.
Nexus 5 owner here, former TMO SGS3 owner (given away), now I've come into possession of a Verizon SCH-i535 SGS3 that I'm running on T-Mobile. Phone is going to my elderly father, and I want to root it so I can uninstall all the Verizon crap and other things that are just going to confuse my dad.
Tried Odin and CFAutoRoot, connects, appears to start, but fails every time. Haven't tried TowelRoot, some say it works, some say it doesn't, and I'm really confused. Lots of threads say this ROM can't be rooted, but not all.
So, short and sweet, can anybody tell me with certainty whether this ROM can be rooted? If so, by which method? Am I stuck with the stock ROM? Any way to hide apps on the app screen?
I hate Verizon. HATE them.
Love xda. LOVE them.

From what I've read towelroot should work, although if it doesn't then I don't think anything else will. Try it out and report back

Sorry if this is a stupid question (I am not that clued up on these things....) but seeing as LG make the Nexus 5, will their apps work on it? There are lots of things about LG phones I like and would like to replicate on the Nexus 5 such as the contacts, sms, OSP, Gallery, knock knock etc etc.
Similarly, has anyone made a custom ROM that incorporates the whole LG experience? I know before some developers on here were trying to port the G2 rom onto the N5 but that seems to have been aborted.
Many thanks

For an app to work on another device, the underlying architecture needs to be very similar to the original device's architecture. Else the app would simply refuse to work.
And in regards to your second question, I have no prior experience with ROM development but I am really willing to learn it though so I can't help you

Thanks for your reply Cruzy12100. Can nobody else shed any light on this? Do any Nexus 5 users know if this is possible or know of any ROMS containing LG apps?
So recently I got a one plus 7 pro and I love it, however, I can't seem to find any and I mean any custom rom that works with Verizon. What happends is
1: I install the custom rom and everything works except for the mobile carrier. I have no signal.
2: I flash the stock oxygenOS and everything works so it's not my Sim card. I tried an At&t Sim card and I get mobile signal instantly.
3: Has anyone else ran into this issue? If so are there any good stable custom roms for this device that you might know? Please share your wisdom with me !
4: so far I've tried LinageOS, /E degoogled rom and I think the other one was softremix and carbon rom if I'm not mistaken!
Thanks in advances guys
Support is terrible for Verizon, I've been here almost a year. There are some ROMs with support but not many, most mention it within the first few pages.

That's a real shame I love Verizon here, it has great reception man. Is there a forum that shows roms that are okay to use with Verizon OP7P?

Same, Verizon's service is by far the best where I live. Unfortunately not, I asked the same thing when I picked it up. Seems strange but then again Verizon has never played nice with enthusiasts. Most Android 10 ROMs will work with Verizon, all that are based on OOS have seemed to work for me as well. Other than that the only thing I can suggest is searching the thread for "Verizon" and hoping someone has made a report. Good luck, man!
I got you bro thank you ! I'll keep searching and if I find something I'll let you know
