I have a Verizon SG3 that was remotely flashed to Straight Talk by MrHunter back in January. Its been working fine up until a few days ago. I started getting this message whenever I try and make a phone call, "Welcome to Verizon Wireless. There was an error in processing your call. Please power down, and turn off your phone, then turn your phone back on and try your call again. If this continues, please dial #8899 for assistance."
I tried calling in to straight talk but their suggestion is to dial *22890, which I know you are not supposed to do with a flashed phone.
I have data, but no phone calls and no texts. On the Status of the phone it shows the Mobile Network State as Disconnected.
I need help trying to figure out what happened. Why all of a sudden do i not have service?

Did you ask @Mrhunter13? He probably knows whats happening or can reflash for you. Mrhunter13 I want to apologize for that stuff I said in your thread I was out of line and I have no idea why I did that. I feel childish looking back on it.
I already talked to the person about the straight talk issue ...when it comes to flashing to straight talk or any other carrier when u using a friend the friend that is being use can be a bad friend in which it messes up in the future thats y the company's have so many refurnished phones out there..Other people that flash to these carriers no u might have a good flash or a bad flash on your hands after a few days of doing the flash ...

OK, so I'm about to go crazy here.
My phone (NS4G) has absolutely no service. I get bars, but am unable to make or receive calls or SMS, nor have I data service. I've tried different radios, different roms, everything I can think of for the past two hours and nothing. It can't be the service in my location since my aunt has Sprint service and she's right next to me and can do everything just fine.
Any tips before I get on a rampage?
FWIW: When I dial a call, it rings twice and I get some weird message that isn't even from Sprint.
Did you flash a GSM Nexus S ROM? That's the only thing that I can think of right now that would cause that .
Nope. I've tried CM9, CM7, and stock Gingerbread (GRJ22) and nothing. I'm telling you, this is driving me nuts and there seems to be no explanation whatsoever...
What's your baseband. Also check you IMEI.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using XDA
Interesting. My phone number and MSID aren't showing right. What can I do about this other than calling Sprint, which I can't do right now?
I would flash completely back to stock, flash the latest officially released basebands and radios, then unroot. If you still can't get it to work, bring it into a sprint store and tell them your phone just stopped working and that you have no idea what is happening. Don't mention rooting or anything like that and I am sure they will help you out.
Another suggestion can you force your phone to roam with a program like roam control to see if anything starts working?
Also, any chance your service could have been cut off?

Alright not too long ago, I called verizon to notify them about my travels to Japan, 2 weeks prior my trip (i got back less than 24 hours ago). They did some over the phone stuff, added that 100mb plan. And told me to dial *228, I've been warned about dialing *228 on 4G phones before... But this is a Verizon REP telling me this. So i did it, and i was supposed to dial it again when i reached Japan, to update my roaming with their cell towers.
I did so as well... thought little did i know the message i got when i was in japan said my phone did not work over there (didn't know it at the time had my friend translate the message for me days after i already dialed)
Long story short, I've noticed after my initial dial of *228, I somewhat noticed my phone never connected to 4G again. It bugged me, but i was still able to FORCE LTE Only in Phone Info. But when i had that setting in, i couldnt recieve or send calls, or texts... just blazing fast internet.
In my area since I live relatively close to Los Angeles 4G is pretty much everywhere here. What i dont understand why my phone hasn't connected to 4G ever since i called.

I'd pull the sim, reinsert and reboot. You may need to reactivate. Sounds like the rep you talked to was a complete waste of space.

I've tried a SIM pull, no luck. I read somewhere dialing *228 could fry to SIM card? Maybe thats what happened, and i'd need to get a replacement...
What do you mean by re-activate?
I've done factory resets quite a few times already today, as well as the IMEI push/fix just in case... still to no luck

There's another command using the keypad you can use to factory reset your phone...i just can't remember it. Something like *#4342..etc. I remember seeing it posted on here somewhere but I would search for "factory reset" and see what you can come up with.
This is what people did when they flashed an AOSP rom and were unable to get 4G...it could likely work for you also. It's worth a shot!
Here is the thread and the command: Back up all your info because your phone will be wiped and make sure you are on a stock based TouchWiz rom...go into dialer and hit *2767*3855#. Allow it to reboot and hopefully you will have full use of your phone. If not, go and get yourself a new sim card at the local VZW.

Tried that twice during the IMEI push. Still to no avail. I'm going to assume the SIM card got bugged during the *228 process... And would probably need a new simcard. My dad also has the S3, and his connects to 4g just fine in my area... THe things i go through with this phone man... I prefer my bionic if the galaxy's camera wasnt so good.
Sorry about the phone woes but once you're up and running again you will see how this device runs circles around your Bionic.
Getting a new SIM card is easy. Verizon gives them away for free and you can just walk in there. Hopefully you get this taken care of.

I just bought a phone the guy who made no mention of the fact that it was rooted when I bought it. What is worse is he mentioned that his GF worked for Verizon, which did not seem to mean much at the time. Knowing that here is what i'm dealing with.
I was in a rush when I checked out the phone as I had to meet another person to pick one up for my wife as well. It's the sch-i575 in white 16gb. After having a minute to look at the phone it turns out he had Paranoid Android flashed and the phone was rooted. CRAP! Not what I was looking for and he was not upfront about it. The incredibly strange thing was that with NO SIMCARD the phone was getting 3g signal! I spent all night trying to unroot \ undo what he did. I managed to use ODIN to get back to the stock rom although I think it's still a rooted one since I still have the super user app. I got a sim card from verizon but since it was rooted I did not bring the phone in and when I tried to activate later it would not activate. My wife's by the way is working flawless and when I put my sim in her phone it works fine as well. I had to put the sim in my wife's phone and it activated there. Here is the crazy thing, with or with out a simcard the phone makes calls and has 3g internet only but when I make a call it uses HIS NUMBER!! I'm not sure what the hell to do, what could have he done? Any ideas? Please all help is appreciated! I did not think this was even possible for the phone to function w/o a sim. I'm worried about taking it in to Verizon because of the funkiness. Ty again for any insight...

I thought the I575 was an old slide phone. So A. your in the wrong section of the forum since this is Verizon's S3 or B. you mentioned the wrong device number? I saw phones before working and running on networks without sim-cards but that was years ago. If it is an S3, you sure it's a Verizon device? Also since you see 3g....can you browse around in the browser or make a phone call?

Yes, it's a galaxy s3 16gb in white. It looks like currently I was using the tar66 using ODIN. I'm reverting back to the bone stock one now. As far as the models go isn't the SCH-I575 the Verizon version of the S3?
I'm waiting on the stock unrooted rom to take through ODIN and will report back. Thank you for taking the time to try and help.
Ohh, yes the internet works and when I make phone calls with or with out my sim in it makes calls successfully but the other guys number shows up. What the heck did this guy do to the phone!

You are obviously absolutley correct. I'm frantically trying to figure this out. I have flashed the stock rom and don't have super user anymore. The problem persists with the guys number.
Could he have flashed a custom kernel and modem or does reverting back using the stock rom cover all that ?

I just double checked and I had the I535VRLAG1 version, yours is the I535VRALF2 in the link you posted trying this now. The crazy thing is that it even says that the sim is activated with MY number! but the calls are still comming from him. I even tried wiping the device and clearing the cache. I also tried to JUST flash the modem with VRLG1.modem.tar.md5 and nothing :\. Waiting on the file from your link to download and will try that.
Is it possible that this is being caused by something on Verizon's end? The phone ( with out the SIM ) is registered to him somehow? I know this is not normal but because his GF worked for Verizon could they have done something funky?
Yeah its definitely possible its from something she did to the phone but most likely nothing from Verizon's end. Does the IMEI number under status match the IMEI number under the battery?

Yes IMEI is the same in the OS as behind the battery.
The curious thing is that on the same screen in the OS where you find the IMEI there is also a field called Network and it says " Unknown"
It also has things like:
Eri v : 5
Mobile network type : EvDo-rev.a:8
The thing I keep coming back to is how is it possible for this phone to make calls\ have data with out a sim?
Starting to really think I got cheated
Cheated? Sounds like you have free Verizon service.
Roll with it. If you really want a bill you can have mine...

Just did and the same thing happened. I went to the Verizon store and the guy there had no idea and got me in touch with tech support from the store. They were dumbfounded and flat out said that what is happening is impossible. "It's impossible to make\receive phone calls with out a sim unless they are emergency" I harped on the fact that I am making phone calls as one of their other customers and that this is a big deal. In the end since I had the insurance and extended warranty they will ship me a new phone.

check your network settings to make sure they werent changed. sometimes that happens.
do you have your IMEI?

yes definitely. This has something to do with the phone thinking im roaming. Up near the signal bars i have the little roaming triangle, and if i try to make a phone call it says call not authorized because i am roaming, etc
so this is definitely having to do with the fact that the phone is stuck in roaming mode
There have been two times i've had issues flashing and lost service for no reason. Turned out verizon suspended my account, call this number (800) 922-0204 and type in account stuff and your number. If it says your account is currently suspended it'll then ask if you want to activate it.. you give an emphatic 1!!! and for me this has worked twice.
Had some time so i ran to VZW. They replaced the SIM and tried hard reset like 4 times but nothing worked. They eventually offered me a free Warranty replacement by mail. I asked her to note my account but i didnt want the replacement just yet ... i said this because she mentioned id have to mail back my original, i was afraid they would see the root and charge me. Is that possible?
Anyhow, going to try the method here for right now, ill report back:

I was making an attempt to spoof my phone location to be able to download an app for my phone while in Europe...
bought a swiss sim when I landed...
phone was working great...wanted to add the Orange.ch app to be able to load my card up with more time as necessary in an easy to use app
phone wouldnt let me download because I was in the UK at the time.
tried to spoof my location...still couldnt download it (guessing maybe I was doing it incorrectly)
long story short..dont know what I messed up or how I messed it up...
but I cant make phone calls out
I can dial, but as soon as it starts to ring, it disconnects and says call ended
I see the words conditional "call forwarding enabled" at the bottom of the screen when I try to call out
I can recieve calls Just fine, and I can send and recieve text messages...
I can even get online with the 3g service with no issues....
Just cant make calls...
any ideas?
anything I should look at
can you tell me some file I should have that I may be missing?
any info would be nice...
the Swiss Orange customer care really didnt know how to help, tried some over the air reset things, and created a "ticket" for me to get somebody higher up the I.T. scale to help.... its been a week, havent heard anything back from anybody.
so I need help to be able to make calls again
also, wondering if maybe I just went back to stock unrooted locked firmware, and then went thru the re-root, unlock process again might fix it...but I dont want to do all that and then have it not work...LOL
anybody have any ideas at all??
cant figure out why I lost the ability to call out, and Orange.ch customer service cant seem to help me either...

did all 3
went back to complete factory stock rom unrooted....tried to call out, same problem
went to a rooted new rom and radio...same problem
starting to think maybe its sim card related
butu I dont know how to test for it...
gonna try to borrow a co-workers card tomorrow and see if I can call out with it.
borrowed a co workers sim card....
it calls out fine...
so that tell me its an issue with the Orange.ch sim card......correct?
either way, I'm going to go into a t-mobile store or somebody other than orange and get a new sim
