[MOD] Super Wipe for Samsung Galaxy S5 G900F G900T G900H G900P - Galaxy S 5 Android Development (Snapdragon)

Hello friends,
This mod is highly recommended when you switch roms/versions.
When you install a rom, all junk such as temp files, useless items, are located on the internal storage.
So what exactly this mod does?
It wipes your Cache partition
It wipes your System partition
It wipes your Data partition - Data partition includes your internal storage!(internel storage is located in data/media/)
Click to collapse
Important notes:
Make sure you have backuped your images, songs, etc. from your internal storage becuase it will be deleted!
Make sure you have external SD card with the rom you wish to install because you will have nothing installed on your device.
Click to collapse
I'm not responsible for any damage caused by using this mod.
This is for G900F/P/T/H Only!!!!!!!
So, how do I install it?
Backup everything you want to your computer.
Copy to your External SD Card the following items:
- ROM
- Super WIpe Script
Reboot into recovery
Install the script.
After it finishes, it will reboot your device into recovery again. If not and it stucks on Samsung logo, reboot to recovery and reflash the script.
Install your ROM

Thanks for the script. Nicely done. I remember my first steps in android land, where
this script helped me a lot. It's true. You can do it yourself. If you know what you're
doing... And not everyone knows...

To make things easier for you and for a lot of people more. So you can accomplish that without doubts, and even just in "one click". You could also make roms and kernels by yourself.. don't you think so? But, again, there's other people doing it for you.. for free.

script not work on my g900h

got stuck with TWRP logo after flashing wipe script
going to odin now for stock firmware install
i have g900f

Do you really need this when you can wipe these things trough custom recovery? What is th difference?

Why do some ROM instructions specifically say NOT to super wipe before flashing?

Is there a version for the G900i?
thanks

@tamirda
I think you should remove its support for 900H coz Philz recovery or any other recovery does not support external SD card read / write yet.
If used your script on 900H the user will have no other option left but to install stock rom from ODIN.

could not use from stock recovery on rooted 900p.

Deodexed framework/app for 2.2 Froyo Chinese ROM

As requested by some I have deodexed the Chinese 2.2 Froyo ROM from Here
It is the full package for now based on the exact ROM, but I will be putting out another two later one with most Chinese stuff removed and another with a fair bit of the blur social stuff removed.
Flash the package by Clockworkmod recovery in the usual way, over the 2.2 ROM. If you have removed apps they will come back, so you will have to remove them again.
Credits go to:
H5u for posting the original stock 2.2 ROM in the above thread.
Sorensiim for the hosting!
Download Here
Enjoy
NB:
If you get an issue with the camera flash after installing 2.2 chinese ROM with it flashing once and then stopping working/being ot of sync, I don't think its related to the deodexed files, however I fixed it by wiping data for camera 2.21 in Titanium Backup
Thank you!
This is exactly, what I've been waiting for.
Could someone please explain what this Deodexed Framework is and what it does or what it's for?
Thanks

.odex files are present in the system by default and accompany most apps (generally apk+odex). The process of deodexing (afaik) removes these files.
As far as purpose goes, Odex system: generally faster, more stable, Deodexed system: easier to mod (bootscreens, lockscreens, themes, etc)
if you're new to the scene that's basically the nutshell version of what you need to know.
Does this still contain Chinese? We really need it.

To use this you change the name to update.zip and install in recovery. Is that right?

Edit : tested without close apps => quadrant 1675

I don't know if it's signed version, but use "update from zip" in the recovery mode, i've used like this.
Also you can delete some unneeded apk before updating by open zip with winrar (or other) and delete it directly, because older deleted apk will be installed again...

update zips don't need to be signed for clockworkmod, if you remove apk's from the package and flash, make sure they weren't there before or they'll still be in system minus the odex files.
Oh, clockwork mod. I don't have that. Where to get please.
To be more specific I go into recovery and all I see is
reboot system now
apply sdcard:update.zip
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
that's it.
Is clockwork mod suppose to replace this?

2. run the system recovery
3. select "Install Recovery System"
4. select "Recovery Boot"
The device reboots and then goes to a blank screen. I let it sit there for a few minutes but get nothing. Any ideas?

Need steps for CM9 Build 8

I have few doubts regarding installation and operating CM9. Currently, I'm on JaggyROM 3.
Q1.
- Copy GApps and CM9 ZIPs to your SDCard
Click to collapse
I need 20120429.zip for CM9 #8, right?
Q2.
- Flash CM9 zip from SDCard
- Flash GApps zip from SDCard
- DO A DATA WIPE / FACTORY RESET (otherwise your device will be stuck at boot)
Click to collapse
Is this actual order of steps? Cause afaik, we have to first do the reset/wipe & then apply update. And in which order should I apply the CM9 & GApps? or any order is OK?
Q3.
- Don't restore data using Titanium Backup! they might cause FC's
- Restoring Apps + Data might cause problems and is not recommended, avoid it if possible!
Click to collapse
This is THE most important question. How should I restore data?
Will it be OK if I installed ONLY APPS first with help of an installer and then used Titanium to restore data?
Can't wait to install this wonderful ROM.
Thanks.
I used this steps without a problem.
1. Download and copy rom to sdcard
2. Boot/Reboot into CWM
3. Backup your existing ROM (just in case)
4. Wipe Data/Factory Reset
5. Goto mounts/storage, mount cache, data, system
6. Format boot, cache, data, system, advanced menu dalvik
7. Install zip from sdcard, choose zip from sdcard, choose "cm-9-20121102-UNOFFICIAL-pico.zip"
8. Wait for it to install, when finished reboot, wait until on homescreen, leave to settle for afew minutes then reboot again
9. Flash gapp
Those are instructions for installing a clean stock cyanogen rom.
-from liverpool-fan
and this is the CM9#8 filename cm-9-20121004-UNOFFICIAL-pico.zip
Actually, I am confused about GApp file name.

[Tool][Aroma]-Mega Wipe-Super Wipe-Factory Reset-Simple Wipe[All-in-One]

I have been addicted to flashing new ROMs almost every other day on my DesireZ. On moving to SGS3, I started searching for a flashable zip that will do an extensive wiping for me without bothering me with wipe Data, wipe Cache, Wipe Dalvik etc.
I thought I will make one for myself. now that I have made and used it, I want to share it with others.
Now, I present it for NOTE II.

There are 4 Scripts:
1) MegaWipe
2) SuperWipe
3) SimpleWipe
4) Factory Reset
All 4 serve different purposes.
Megawipe: Use this zip to completely format your phone. It will delete everything in your phone and will bring it to bare bones. After it install any ROM for a fresh experience without any conflicts with in the frame work.It deletes the Data, Cache, System and Preload partitions of your internal memory. So Beware!
SuperWipe: This is a simple factory reset and you can use it to move from one ROM to another without bothering about framework conflicts. It deletes the Data Folders and Cache partitions of your internal memory. Will not affect the Internal SD card.
Factory Reset: Use it to do a Factory Reset, which wipes your Data partition, Cache Partition and Dalvik Cache. It will delete everything on your Internal SDcard.
SimpleWipe: A simple wipe is as the name suggests a Simple Cache and Dalvik wipe. You can use it to clear the said partitions before updating to a newer version of your ROM. Also, You can use it before you have flash a new ROM.
Also, I have read questions on how to completely wipe the phone..the MegaWipe zip will do it for you..just have a ROM to install on the ExtSdcard when you use it..

Many thanks again Zoot1 for your hard work for creating Aroma Installer for both S3 and Note 2.

Thanks a lot, great app, but have to ask - Megawipe will delete anything from the personal data on the internal memory? Like Camera Folder / DCIM or anything in the SDCard root?
Appreciated!

Hmmm...doesn't work for me
The script always freezes on the screen with the green android - sometime with the "wheel" showing and sometime before it shows.
I re-downloaded the app, but still the same thing.
I'm on a Note 2 N7100 from Germany, running CWM 6.0.1.9 and Omega V7.0.

I was wondering why it is said that it's dangerous to wipe system on Note2 (hence Megawipe)
Using several Android devices with 4.1.x version and everything is fine when I wipe everything (system partition included)

It is just for people to keep in mind that it is dangerous if you don't know what you are doing..it will not harm your hardware..
Megawipe is best when installing a totally new ROM.

Yes, you flash the new recovery with the old recovery first. Reboot to new recovery. Remember to wipe user data/factory reset along with wiping Dalvik cache and formatting system from the mounts and storage item. Then install your CM11 ROM.

I would hope that the update.zip you are referring to is a flashable recovery. From the link posted it is. It's the newest recovery with support for KitKat ROMs. Flash this like you would flash anything else. IE; Install zip from sdcard. Then go to 'Advanced' and choose reboot recovery. This will reboot you in to the new recovery you just flashed.
From there do "Wipe data/factory reset" and then go to "Advanced" again and select "Wipe Dalvik cache". Go back to CWM main menu and then select "Mounts and storage". From there only select "Format /system". Back to CWM main menu. Select 'Install zip from sdcard'. If the ROM is on your external SD, which it should be, then choose "install from external sd". Confirm the installation and wait for it to install. Back to CWM main menu and choose reboot system. Voila!
Now I don't wanna seem harsh, but there are countless threads that explain how to flash a ROM/zip. XDA enforces using their search function to help prevent multiple threads of roughly the same content from being created. So in the future, please use the Search function before creating a new thread.

Good man, I'll try it
But after that I'll update I can install the cm7 if I wanted?
Clockwork 6.0 only flash cm10~cm11. If you like to install anothrer version, like cm9 or cm7 you have to flash first rhe clockwork 5.0. And then rwboot recovery and then flash zip. So, once you have downloaded the flashable zip for clock 5.0 and the wanted rom you have to do
1- Copy clock 5 and rom to sd card.
2- Reboot recovery
3- Flash clock 5
4- Reboot recovery
5- flash wanted rom under the rom instructions.

I cannot say if CM11 supports Hebrew or not, sorry. However, in order to install CM11 you need the newest recovery 6.0.4.6 as you've already figured out. That recovery, 6.0.4.6, will allow you to swap between CM10.2 and CM11 with no issues. To go back to older Android versions you will need to revert back to your older CWM first.

CWM 5.0.2.0 can NOT flash CM11. You will get Status 7 error. You must upgrade recoveries to install CM11.
If you don't plan on having a GMail account attached to the device, have no need for the Play Store and some others, then no, don't flash GAPPs. Though I suspect you'll find that you will want/need to.
There is no safe way to increase the internal memory, as in change partition sizes, of these devices.

The backup statement I made was just a precaution. It's better to be safe than sorry.
I don't understand why you want to install CM11 and then downgrade your recovery. That makes no sense to me. Any flashable zips that need installed will also need the same recovery. CM11 added some new and reworked commands to the scripting language used to install flashable zips thru recovery. That's why you need to upgrade recoveries.

The backup statement I made was just a precaution. It's better to be safe than sorry.

[H918] TWRP Flashable Stock Firmwares

with little to no activity lately for the LGV20, specifically the H918 T-Mobile variant I decided to look into creating a TWRP flashable package for the recent H91810k release. these zips flash every partition included in the latest KDZ package with the exception of recovery to keep TWRP. standard disclaimer applies, you do all of this at YOUR OWN risk! I've tested this on my device after backing up and so far so good on the latest 10k release. please report back in this thread on whether it was successful or not.
NOTE: you can find the partitions that will be flashed in the updater-script. to be extra cautious you can back up all of the partitions that will be overwritten with the following: dd if=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/{partition} of=/external_sd/backup/{partition}.img.
Instructions:
download H91810k.zip file listed below and put on microSD card
backup any data from internal "SD card"
boot into TWRP (requires TWRP recovery to already be installed)
create a TWRP backup of the device
flash zip from microSD card by using "Install"
flash your choice of root, either Magisk or SuperSU *Note: v12.0 of Magisk does not work with the LGV20 device in general and v11.6 is recommended.
reboot
profit!
Download:
H91810k
md5sum: ab181ec82315b656a7af48f0017f4e8c - version 1 with misc partition included (SORRY)
md5sum: 8ad07ae70c4299b3ea6e2bf747dbec1c - version 2 with misc partition removed
Flashing Process:
flash necessary partition images with the exception of recovery (to keep TWRP) from the KDZ
rename /system/recovery-from-boot.p to /system/recovery-from-boot.bak to prevent stock recovery from being installed on boot
wipes dalvik-cache and cache
BIG thanks to @McNutnut on guidance, as well as his script to put all of this together!
also thanks to @bullghost for the KDZ extractor (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2600575)
@Tilde88 for the original updater-script template w/root (https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/development/us996-nrd90m-modded-notsostock-rom-v5-1-t3526542)
First! This is sweet!
I just tried this and it works great. I prefer to use the stock rom and to get a rooted 10k that doesn't have any known security vulnerabilities is awesome. Some notes for others:
Copy SuperSU to the external SD card and flash it after this zip in TWRP.
Make sure to select all the partitions for back up in TWRP.
On the first boot after flashing, the phone will reboot by itself. This is probably normal. You will get an "Android is upgrading..." white screen. This is expected since the cache was wiped by the script. This will take a while to complete. Even when you get back into the system, an "Android is upgrading..." message will appear in the notification bar.
Clarification: The data on /sdcard doesn't get wiped, but it's a good idea to back it up just in case. The TWRP backup of the data partition does NOT include this stuff in the backup.
I had Busybox installed before, but I didn't have to reinstall it after the flash. I'm not sure why. I assumed that wiping out system would have required me to re-install Busybox. I guess Busybox doesn't get installed on the system partition?
Adblocking using apps like AdAway need to be rerun since the hosts.txt file will be reset.
Ignore the stuff under "Process" in the OP. It's explaining what the script does. You don't have to do any of that.
The script disables the updater software. You never have to worry about the next stock release causing you trouble!
I am having problems downloading this? I tried twice and it downloads but I cant find it?

pretty sure if that's the case then YOU did something wrong... the recovery image is NOT in this package at all so TWRP is left untouched.

what are you using to download?
I HAD TWRP and and after a while it went back to stock recovery
You did something other than flash the rom in this thread. Maybe you're confusing this thread with this one? https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/how-to/t-mobile-lgv20-h91810k-kdz-t3618021
If that's what you flashed, you will definitely end up with stock recovery and no root.
I've tried to install this ROM but it skips through each of partition rather quickly and it never installs. I'm on H91810j with root and TWRP installed. Any ideas? Thanks.

Did you have an external MicroSD card installed in your phone? Are you using that external MicroSD card to store the files to be flashed? What version of TWRP are you using?
Yep, on microsd. TWRP 3.0.2-1
OP says 10k, but you're on 10j?
Correct, currently on 10j

I would verify the md5sum of the downloaded file you have to what it should be, which is ab181ec82315b656a7af48f0017f4e8c

Hmm...the zip I downloaded has a checksum of 76bbccc0c9640d7f0005b529abf3873a and it uncompresses without issue!? Was there an earlier release?
Going to download again...

Can you provide more detail on what you did? You made a pretty strong statement that you lost TWRP.
Did you follow and flash what was written by the OP? Did you do flash something else after flashing what was provided by the OP? Or did you really have TWRP the whole time?
Not looking to cause an an argument but your 2 posts in this thread have made me hesitate flashing.
