Dear XOLO Q3000 Users,
I am porting today the Kit Kat 4.4 for our device. It is based on the ROM of Wammyz 4.4. I just mode that by copy and paste of some files from other ROMS and made it work for this devise. It is just a copy and past one and nothing is created by me.
I have added some more application and improved the audio and video features.
Like the other initial 4.4 kitkat ROMs, there was a problem with blue tooth. To make blue tooth to work. Follow the steps below:
Method 1:
1. Put off the wifi.
2. put on the blue tooth
3. Immediately just put one the blue tooth. For me it worked.
Method 2:
1. Go to Apps , go to all and choose Blue tooth button
2. Clear Cache and clear data
3. Restart the phone in safe mode and this will disable the 3rd party applications
4. Now repeat the step one and two
5. Now go to settings and put off wifi
6. Put on blue tooth and immediately put on wifi
7. The blue blue tooth will start working.
In case of again some problem with blue tooth, kindly repeat the above step.
Down load the ROM from Google Drive in the url below:
url: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bz8Fgu4wkBnqOE1SRF9vMUlFMVU/edit?usp=sharing
Follow the following steps:
1. Download the ROM and put into a folder in your sd card and take it to your sdcard without extracting it
2. Go to CWM or touch recovery. I have incorporated the Carlive touch recovery 2.2 based on CWM 6.0.4.4 in the ROM itself and you will open the recovery in the same.
3. Carry out the WIPE all
4. Select install zip and select the just download rom and flash it.
5. Please wait for some time and it will boot up in about a minute or 1.5 minute.
6. Wait for the Carrier signal to come.
7. After choosing the carrier please put off the phone and wait for one or 2 minute and restart the phone.
8. Enjoy.
This ROM has not erased my carrier signal one several booting up exercises. But in case if it happens. Then to safe card your nvram and “IMEI” I have built in in the ROM to save your nvram and IMEI. Please use them to re-activate yout IMEI
Below are some of the Screen shots:
Please notice the Internal storage. Mine is 2 GB. To make the internal storage as 2 GB, you may have to flash the attached E1 and E2 files replacing your files available in the stock flash ROM.

Hello, first of all i want to thank you for the kit-kat rom :good: although i didnt try it yet..I have a question.. can we flash this rom without changing our internal storage? is it necessary to change our internal storage to 2 gb? if yes can you please explain the steps to do it..And does the phone work well after flashing the rom i mean are there any lags/bugs in the phone after flashing it..
You need not increase the storage. You can flash it as it is.
If you need more internal storage you can accommodate most needed things. Like different codecs for videos flashes games etc. I am trying how we can increase Ram though it is in the hardware part. It may be possible to some extant if we can get virtual Rams through software.
I am just learning.

Regarding charging Animation of battery signal on the status bar,
Go to settings, go to display, search at the bottom line, there you find Charging Style.
Open it and you will what all you wanted and more. Just patiently do the exercise and choose to your taste.
Play store to me did not cause the same error but it was little delayed. You should do a through and clean wipe may be twice.
The delay may be due to the old play store apk that has come with the base ROM.
Any how I am porting a zip file that has the recent play store which will over write and update the current one Kindly extract the apk file from the zip folder and take to your sd card.
Through file manager or file explorer, select this apk and flash it,
I hope it will upgrade the current one.
If the problem still persists, then, I am yet to revamp this rom and please wait till tonight and I will port a revamped afresh ROM

Improved KITKAT with Enhanced Audio and Video etc.
Please find ported a revamped custom kit kat 4.4 ROM for our phone XOLO Q3000. The audio system is improved.
Extra useful apps are added.
Bugs. unfortunately Google key board not functioning: You can just ignore this or go to settings, go to apps and goto all. In All search for google key board. Do this, clear data, disable and force stop.
Now this pop up would stop.
I have just used it for one day only and find no other bugs.
Audio and Video are good Charging is normal and sucking. I have not played any games. Please check it and report.
Xposed modele is already added in the earlier version also. You can update and do the required downloads. But do not upgrade to the latest one it may fail. Try to upgrade one by one starting from 2.1.2 onwards. I have no patience to check. The current one is functioning.
If you meet with any difficulties please ask here. Follow the same installation procedure.
Please do the back up of your ROM. it is always advisable
--------Download and place the zip file in sd card
--------Open recovery go to wipe and wipe all
------- come back and touch instal section
------- installed the just downloaded and rom placed in the sd card
------- Reboot and enjoy.
Please carry out a thorough cleaning of all.
The new rom is available in the google drive url:https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bz8Fgu4wkBnqeDRPQUZNTEJ3cjQ/edit?usp=sharing
Enjoy
I shall give you in a day or 2 how you can improve the inernal storage from 1 GB to 1.93 or 2.46 or 2.73 of 7 GB please wait for some more hours.

Dear XOLO Q3000 friends,
I am porting today some files to increase the internal phone storage to 1.93 GB or to 2.46 GB or to 2. 7 GB or 7 GB size. There are many short cuts also. But to be on the safe side and trouble free one, I am providing with the smartphone tool to install the stock rom and respective files loaded in the same stock rom.
I have also provided the Carliv Touch recovery that you can change afterwards. We can flash the Carliv touch recovery in the first go. It is advisable to opt for stock recovery flash first.
Please download the Smart Phone Flash Tool SP_Flash_Tool_v3.1328.0.183a provided here. You can also use the your own SPFT that you have been using to handle your Q 3000.
If you have not installed the drivers, to ease your process I am providing the driver files also. In all there are 8 drivers and please try to install all the 8 drivers.
Please down load the base ROM file that is provided in the .7z format file and down load it , open it and take to your desk top where you might already have your SPFT tool also.
Click opens the flash tool .exe file and waits for the tool to open up.
Then click the Scatter file and take your curser the scatter file provided in the XOLO_Q3000_S003_15102013
This wll automatically open all the required files for the successful flash of the rom, the stock boot, stock recovery, stock EBR1 and EBR2 (EBRo and EBR2o in my folder) will be loaded.
Now chose your storage requirement, 193,246 or 273 or 7z which corresponds to 1.93, 2.46, 2.73 and 7 GB internal space. Both and respective EBR1 and EBR2 has to loaded and please take care.
After loading either you click Firmware upgrade or download to flash the rom.
Please note while uploading the SPTF stock Rom 2.73 GB ebr was not loaded and it is given here and take it and use as you please.
Wait for the yellow bar to pass and green circle to pop up.
Enjoy the increase storage.

Once you flash this rom with the storage you chose. next step is to change the recovery to the CARLIV touch one, which is provided inside the flah rom. After flashing this as usual you can flash the custom rom which ever you want. It is advisable to reboot twice or thrice with the gap of 2 minutes and carryout your operation.
Please note when i flashed the 7 gb partician the secong imei was notg shown and after 2 reboots the sim worked. May be for other roms it may happen. Also it is advisable to format factory data reset using the phone settings to confirm your storage capacity.
Please write here for any problems or difficulties I shall try to provide if feasible the solutions.

<li>First off I started this thread to seperate the current thread for this phone that is riddled with question and answeres and it is super difficult to find what you need to find in the thread. I am writing this guide and thread to give back to the forum for the many days and hours I spent finding everything I needed to find, to root, flash and mod this phone properly. My hopes are with my knowledge on the subject you wont have to spend hours of fruitless searching like I did to find what you need. I'd like this thread to stay uncluddered with multitude of questions if you have them, message me or go to this thread here and post please: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1695210&page=96
<li>I would like for anyone finding new ROMS, making custom firmwares for this phone to please add them here to begin a nice list of ROMS custom or official for people to be able to find them in one place.
<li>First off i'd like to give credit were credit is due. Shout outs to;

The Guide
<li>Follow Bruno Martins guide for setting up sp flasher here: http://bm-smartphone-reviews.blogspot.it/2012/05/mt6575-flashing-tutorial.html#comment-form
<li>Just some notes and observations that were not mentioned in his guide that will help. In order to install the drivers try right clicking the driver for your system and selecting install. If that doesn't work here is what you do. Turn off your phone, take the battery out, put it back in (if you don't do this it will just show a charging symbol) now plug it in, it should attempt to install the drivers and fail, at this point go to your start button, search programs and files and type device manager, when it comes up select the one with an exclamation point and right click it, select update drivers, point it to the driver folder and then your operating system folder, i.e. vista, windows 7. If the attempt to install does not work download http://narod.ru/disk/57204199001.bb08022cc3658b67af84bc83bd330b0c/20120705_e1808_v75_jbl1.zip.html extract the folder.
<li>Download http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?htx4lkktne1jmzg recovery image and place and replace the recovery in the folder above.
<li>Do not have your phone connected to your computer, open sp flashtool downloaded from Bruno martins guide select scatter-loading on the right select the scatter file in the extracted folder, deselect everything but the recovery i.e. only have recovery selected! Click the download button.
<li>Turn off your phone, remove the battery, put the battery back in plug in your phone, it should now attempt to install drivers, again it will fail, start, search programs and files, device manager, right click the one with the exclamation mark, select update, select driver folder, select your windows version, yes on any warnings, now installed.
<li>NOTE: I recommend never plugging in your phone until you hit the download button and it says searching with sp flashtool. It doesn't react if it's plugged in before then.
<li>O.K. So at this point you should have your drivers installed and recovery as well. Almost there.
So next download http://www.sendspace.com/file/oj1fv2 2 gb internal memmory and 500 mb external. Essentially what this zip does is make your phone have 2 gigs of internal space and 500 mb external instead of 500 mb internal and 2 gigs external, super cool.
Don't do anything yet though.
<li>Next download http://www.sendspace.com/file/uj3jqx This is the ultimate rom I spent some time on for our phones, it's android 4.06 while it's not orriginally mine I fixed a lot of issues and made it much, much, better and pre-rooted with buisy box.
<li>Next download http://www.sendspace.com/file/7yfizd That's right GOOGLE NOW fully working, really cool, works perfect you'll love it!
<li>Now that you have them downloaded put them on your SD card. Here is were people kept telling me if your external doesn't work you can just put it on your internal Sd card. DON”T DO IT! If your external doesn't work you put a smaller one in a 2 gig works nicely, I had a 16 gig and it wouldn't read, had an old 2 gigger laying around and read it just fine. Heres why you don't use the internal, your flashing the internal memmory!! It will mess everything up!
<li>That said, files on the sd card put it in your phone.
<li>Press power while holding the up or + volume, release power continue to hold the volume and you'll eventually go into recovery menu.
<li>Use volume to navigate power to select.
<li>Select wipe data/factory reset, confirm.
<li>Select wipe cache partition, confirm
<li>select advanced, select wipe dalvik cache, confirm.
<li>Now select install zip from sd card, choose zip from sd card and select the custom rom file, confirm.
<li>Go back and reboot, let the phone reboot to system, as a side note screen will be moving white, its just the wallpaper. After full boot up let system settle then hold power and select recovery.
<li>Once back in recovery select install zip from sdcard, choose zip from sdcard and select the 2 gig zip, install.
<li>Select choose zip from sd card and select the google now zip and install, now reboot your phone, and love the awesomeness. By the way it's just google in your app dawer or choosable when you select the microphone on your home screen.
FLASHING OTHER ROMS
<li>There are two different types of ROMS you can flash.
<li>Official-These are official builds and releases made for your phone. These will be flashed by using sp flashtool. Now our phones also have unique hadware sometimes different from phone to phone. Chinese are pretty infamous for mixing and matching hardware. That being said you need to have software settings set for your particular hardware. You do this by using a particular software called SP MDT which you can download here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/6kee8d When you download the file run it. Select your scatter file, then select the button with the question marks, select unlock, the first one on the left is for your rear camera, middle is for front and finally right is for your screen setting which most people have trouble with and think they bricked their phone. The only way to truly test this is trial and error, if your screens normal you''ve selected the right screen setting, if your cameras work they are also on the right setting. Now close SP MDT and it auto saves the settings for you and use sp flashtool as normal.
<li>Custom-These are modded and themed developer ROMS, these are installed by flashing from recovery and generally do not effect your screen and camera settings because the do not contain uboot data.
Troubleshooting
<li>Don't flash NVRAM and UBOOT if your phone already works fine with cameras and LCD screen!
<li>My phone will not connect to install drivers- Many methods have been mentioned, but the one that works is-power your phone off, take out the battery wait 5 sec, put battery back in, now plug in your phone to the pc, it should attempt to install drivers and fail, go to start then type in the search box device manager, select it, right click the one with the exclamation mark, choose update. If that doesn't work, run sp flashtool select your scatter file choose what you want to install, select download button, now follow the steps provided above and plug in your phone. Also The cord that you use to pluggin to your computer may be the issue, if it does not transfere files when you plug it in normally then it wont work for the drivers, some of them are charge only I found that out myself when two of mine didn't work.
<li>My sd card can't mount in recovery-Most likely cause SD card is incompatible i.e. too big, use a smaller 2 gig card, do not use internal memmory as others suggest, it can mess things up and I advise against it.
<li>SCREEN PROBLEMS! Psychedelic colors, black, white, gray and others. CAMERA PROBLEMS! No camera, wont focus etc. Etc.... You need two programs spflashtool found here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/bh81se and SP_MDT found here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/6kee8d You also need an official firmware. Open SP_MDT go to the box that says scatter file, point it to your official firmware scatter file, then click the box with all the question marks, press unlock, the first option is your rear camera, the second option is your front facing camera, the last option is your lcd settings which make it look normal (not phsychedelic and wacky). Now these settings vary from phone to phone so you just have to trial and error them, basically if your screen is right, the seting is right, if your camera works the setting is correct. Now you can close the SP_MDT don't worry it saves your settings for you even though you just close it. Go into SP Flash tool Now you can flash the whole ROM but you don't have too, you only need to select UBOOT it will give you a warning it's perfectly fine, thats all you need to flash to fix your settings, and it wont mess up your current ROM.
Official Roms
<li>Flash With SP Flash tool, Do Not Check UBOOT or NVRAM Unless you have already messed up camera and LCD settings in which case you need to follow the troubleshooting section.

A 4.03 custom rom
http://www.sendspace.com/file/2pwtc6
Feel Free to add more, as will I. If you like this thread feel free to thank me if you really like it please DONATE thanks.
NICE
Wow, thanks for putting the time into making a comprehensible thread. Cant wait to get some free time to root my n8000. How's the battery life in the ROM and are there any bugs? will report back if i run into any issues.
Hello
what is the point of having two threads for the same device.?
why did you not just post this there in the correct place?
surly it is much better to have one place to go to for all the answers and to ask, the N8000 thread has developed as the device has
you will just be adding to others confusion
good luck.
If you visit any of the other threads Of different phones they actually contain multiple threads which keep things uncluttered, so that people can find what they need that was my goal with this thread. They don't just contain one huge single thread.

thanks for your work!one question: your rom is good with battery? is it ondemand or performance dispatcher?
Incompatible apps
Thanks for the guide I've now got the 4.0.6 Rom on my phone. one problem, the play store says a lot of apps aren't compatible with my phone. I'm assuming this is because its a 4.0.6 Rom is there anyway to make the play store think you have 4.0.4 so it will let you download them or any other way to download these supposedly incompatible apps?
there is no android 4.0.6 this rom is based on android 4.0.3

Okay I've now tried a 4.0.4 Rom and its still saying loads of apps are not compatible when downloading from google play? These apps worked fine when I was on the stock 4.0.3 Rom.
sendspace.com/file/uj3jqx was 4.0.6 is a moded version of android 4.0.3 the build.prop file has been edited 4.0.6 there is a build.prop file somewhere that lets google play compatible with all apps.

I have tried all of the moded roms from the Russian and Chinese sites where all these roms come from if the dpi is set to anything over than 240 google play most apps are not compatible check your build.prop file /system there will be something like this ro.sf.lcd_density=190 delete it then try google play again if you want a different dpi you need a moded google play apk

This is really important to note. Newer phones have JBL2, and the JBL1 stuff at worst soft-bricks them and at best takes away auto-focus from the camera (still working on this, but seems permanent for now).

Actually the rom was created by alexey arsenev, will work on jbl2 but need to flash with jbl2 boot image.. But autofocus will not function..

I've watched the "noob" video for posting - but not really sure if this is the right place to post. Please don't shout at me
I've watched a few videos about getting "google now" working on ICS - but I have little Android experiece and do not want to break the phone. Has anybody done it successfully on this ? can u point me at a failsafe utube video (or something else) to get this done without my loss of £120GBP ? Thx...

Yes -- it works! I've done it.
I'm sorry that you're not going to find one step-by-step guide for this phone, but all the info is here.
This is a very hard phone to "break" in a permanent sense, but I'd read as much as you could stand before you began to avoid headaches that others have had before you. Between the two threads here, there are 150 or so pages of info. Especially important things to note: Make sure you have the right phone (not quite as easy it sounds) and make sure you note all the current details of your software before you get under the hood.
In order to use Google Now, you'll first need to root your phone and install a custom recovery (if those don't make sense, use the Google to search for an overview).
For our phone, I'd start with the first page of this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1695210
So, the question becomes: Do you have root and a custom recovery?
FWIW, Google Now is interesting but has yet to seem revolutionary to me. Seems like something that will be amazing three or four generations from now.

Stock ROM + CWM + Root + 1GB apps memory
This is the stock ROM with the following changes:
- Rooted (SuperUser installed)
- ClockworkMod Recovery v5.5.0.4
- Apps memory resized to 1 GB & phone storage reduced to 1.55 GB (the original are: 500 MB memory for apps & 1.77 GB phone storage)
DOWNLOAD
H7100 Hardmaster ROM II (29.04.2013)
This one is much better and faster:
- Many build.prop optimizations and fixes (!shown in the screenshots!)
- BRAVIA 2 engine installed
- The stock launcher was replaced with ADWLauncher. The phone has much better performance with ADWLauncher and it is more customizable.
- All Chinese and Weather apps removed!
- Updated to latest version: Google Play Store, Google Search, Google Maps, GMail, DocsToGo
- new apps - MTK6577 CPU Governor Switcher v18.1, Mobileuncle Tools, SD Speed Increase, Root Explorer, GPS Test
Screens:
DOWNLOAD - files for Flash Tool
If you have already installed "Stock ROM + CWM + Root + 1GB apps memory" you don't need to flash with flash tool but you can use this NAND Backup via CWM recovery:
DOWNLOAD
Follow this steps:
- extract the files in a folder. Put the folder in sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/
- reboot in recovery
- whipe data, cache, dalvik cache and system. If you don't want to loose your apps don't whipe data (but do everything else) but I can't guarantee that everything will be alright.
- don't close the recovery and go to "backup and restore". Choose "restore" and select the folder that you have put in the sdcard earlier.
- wait for the process to finish and reboot your phone
- enjoy
if you don't know how to set up your ADW launcher here is backup of good settings I made: http://www19.zippyshare.com/v/42318800/file.html
Extract the archive in the sdcard root directory, go to the ADWLauncher settings -> restore and select the backup.
!!! Please don't mirror my files! If you need mirror just ask me to do it !!!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
!!! The ROMs are made to be flashed using SP Flash Tool! Here you can find good tutorial that explains how to flash ROMs: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1982587 . Note that before flashing you must turn off your phone, unplug USB, take off the battery and put it again! After that you just hit "Download" and plug the phone in the USB cable. It worked for me, it should work for you too (of course if you have successfully installed the drivers)!
MT65XX Preloader drivers (you need them if you want to flash anything on your phone): http://www57.zippyshare.com/v/12582529/file.html (if the link is dead please PM me and I will fix it)
This tutorial shows how to properly install the preloader drivers!
And don't forget to whipe the data and cache after flashing!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BACKUP / REMOVING PREINSTALLED STOCK CHINESE APPS
You can use MTK Droid Tools to remove the Chinese apps: MTKDroidTools 2.4.3
If some of the apps are still on the phone or you just want to remove another stock app you can use the RootExplorer which is in the phone to remove them from /system/app/ (of course don't forget to set the permissions to Read/Write).
If you want to use MTKDroidTools allow unknown sources and USB debugging on your phone! You will also need ADB driver:
Google ADB driver: http://www39.zippyshare.com/v/98470792/file.html
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Since 2 people have reported a phone brick after successful flashing (or after unsuccessful flashing) I would like to give you an advice:
Do not flash PRELOADER and DSP_BL. Just uncheck them and flash the rest images.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That's all you need! If you have any problems and questions don't hesitate to post them in this thread
Enjoy and don't forget to click "Thanks" if I helped you!

The thread title clearly says that it is Feiteng. And I should also mention that the phone's RAM is 1GB (but i think that the rom should work on the 512MB version too). Anyway I will post a photo of the front and back of the phone and also the sticker under the battery. BTW screenshots are ready and updated in the main post

I am 100% sure that the ROM works on 1GB RAM devices, I have made it using 1GB model and it was tested on a few phones. That's the only thing that I can guarantee. I haven't mentioned anything about the 512GB RAM model so ff anyone who haves it and wants to try my custom ROM he would do it on it's own risk!

With this ROM, when you use root option like in sdcard speed increase (one of much app I've used) apply at reboot, automatically dont work. Like a not-permanent root.
And have a strange bluetooth issue: when i connect bluetooth headset, alla the audio of the device come in slowmotion! Sound, games,call-in, until i reboot the phone. Like if audio didnt return in normale mode after bluetooth! Please help me..

I don't experience you problems, so other people who used my rom. The only thing I can tell you to flash the rom again, boot the phone into recovery mode, whipe data, cache, dalvik cache and battery stats. After that reboot the phone and everything should work just fine. I have flashed the rom myself a few times and it works fine every time.
Probably you had this root problem because you haven't wiped the things I mentioned above. Before I made a backup of this ROM I personally tried root explorer and it successfully got the superuser rights

Well I have MT6577 CPU governor and SD Speed Incrase and both apply successfully on every reboot, I don't know why you have such problem. About the bluetooth ,, I have trued only sanding files and it works, I haven't tried bluetooth speakers or any other devices.
Try flashing the rom again following the instructions I gave you.
Try something else. Run MTKDroidTools and reboot your phone in recovery mode.
Do this operation
actually this operation makes permanent root to your phone every time it reboots. I think that I did this when I was making the rom but try it. If it fixes your problem it looks like I forgot to do it and I will have to make another rom
ok I'll try and let you know, thanks. see that the users tips are always helpful?
we should populate this forum or create a tread for H7100. who knows if anyone helps us also to understand what happens to the bluetooth if you want I can make a video. is this dynamics. switch on bluetooth; I pair the headset; everything continues to work fine; make or receive the first call; all audio becomes very slow until you restart. Anyway I heard others on other forums have this problem. I hope both software. now I try to do the test your reverse: now I try to send any file with bluetooth and see if the sound problem reoccurs.
EDIT: Then, bluetooth issue is only with headset. i tried to send some files to another 2 devices and after worked fine.
FOR ROOT: during the period when we posting here, I installed the androida's rom and supersu (I like more). NB: both the ROMs were installed the same way. installation, wipe DATA, wipe CACHE and wipe DALVIK-CACHE. well, the androida's rom root work properly at reboot.

I use a Bluetooth headphone to listen music very often and never have experienced any problem with my H7100, I make and receive calls with it too. (Note: I'm using androidia's ROM0
I have experienced once the problem that audio goes all "slow motion" when watching youtube a long time ago(I wasn't using my headphones).
Pretty much he only problem I experienced is when I have both GPS and WIFI enabled, WIFI tends to stop working and have to reboot the phone to get it working again.
Having GPS disabled fixes this problem (I don't really use the GPS anyways since it rarely locks to a satellite..)

how to download rom0?
I have made new ROM and I updated the link in the main post. I tested it and I am 100% sure that the root works and also applies on every reboot! All features remain the same - CWM, 1GB apps memory and 1.55GB phone storage.
You can try it if you want. Personally I experience no problems at all using it, I can't tell how it would work on another phones. The problem with the Chinese phones is that even with the same model they still can be different. They can make them with different kernels. For example my phone Kernel is 3.4.0, some different H7100 models are with 3.0.31. Probably that's why androidia's rom works for some people and my rom works for others. I think that we should make one topic that includes our both ROMs
I am not a ROM developer so whatever i am going to post here is taken from xda forum and also with the help of Google.
Now at first i would like to thank dolorespark, rickwebtest.

To install cwm recovery
Download it from here.
Create a folder and rename it to "cwm" and extract the files in this folder.
Copy this "cwm" folder to external sdcard.
install "Android Terminal Emulator" from play store.
Now type the below code in the terminal.
Code:
su

sh install-recovery.sh
This will install the cwm recovery.
If you want to boot in cwm recovery then shutdown tablet and press and hold Vol + and Power button.
Livesuit
May be at first you will feel some problem flashing with livesuit.
Every time before connecting the tablet to the PC press the Power button for about 15 secs to switch it off completely.
Connect the USB to PC first and then press and hold the Vol+ Button and connect the USB to the tablet.
Now press the power button about 5 to 6 times continually.
And follow the instruction that is present with the stock ROM.

1. Battery backup is slightly better than the stock.
2. As of now install this, check and tell my if you find any bug. It will take some time to upload CM9 & 10 as there are many bug present in that ROM.
Thanks for response.

1. If you want cwm recovery then only install. It is not necessary to install cwm recovery.
2. If you are talking about boot logos then i didn't find any logo changer app that supports our tablet but if it is about the boot animation then you can use " Boot Animations" app for changing the animation.
3. In my case this mobile signal sign only comes whenever i connect the dongle. Check the setting in wireless & network >> More...

1. Yes the internal in 1+1.5, rest is reserved by the OS.
2. Rooting can be done by the software named as SuperOneClick, download from here and follow the instructions from here. Its simple so now just try it and tell me if you got the success or not.
3. I don't even remember if panorama was present in stock ICS though that is of no use for front VGA camera as i think.
5. Yes just because this is LY-F1's stock ROM but you can change it by changing in build.prop(/system/) file by using ES File Explorer or if you want i will provide the file that is modified by myself only.
6. It can be useful while using internet with dongle.
Now can you please tell me the overall performance of the tablet with this jelly bean and how is the touch now?
CAN somebody please post the antutu benchmarks?
HI,
I have an AX01 TAB. I recently read on a spanish site that, the LYF1 tAB(same as ax01) best performed on a 4.0.4 ICS build rom.
The JB rom 4.1.1 (JAn 2013 update) had the worst performance compared to ICS.
Can someone confirm, whether the problem of wifi switching off when screen turns off is still there?
Are there any significant improvements in touch response near the edges.
Thanks

Yes the performance has improved by leaps and bounds... The touch is much better than the stock iberry rom.
Even the keyboard is responsive..
Sadly there are no compatible games in the google play
I have rooted my tab using super one click..
---------- Post added at 12:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:44 AM ----------
how to make apps compatible::
1) After rooting, Download ES file explorer.
2) Click on settings(es file explorer)--->Root settings-->Select all options(be sure to mount system )
3) now in the root menu ----> go to system-->build.prop
4) now scroll down to the last line and insert this
5) { ro.opengles.version=131072 } only the line inside the bracket.
6 now click save.
7) exit the application..
8) now go into settings----> apps---> clear cache and data of google play & google play services
9) restart the tab
10) thats it ........... all apps should be compatible in google play
Just some questions that I have
1)Did anyone flash the recovery as per the process given and did it work?were u able to go to recovery mode and Use it?Can Anyone please post a Pic of the recovery on auxus ax01 here.
2)I am Familiar with Flashing ROMs,Root, recoveries, custom Kernels n all,But I am Facing Problems understanding the flashing method to flash the jellybean ROM on ax01.Can someone please make a video on how to flash(flashing Tutorial) The jellybean ROM?

About the Battery, why dont you once calibrate the battery with Battery calibration app, follow the instruction written in the app. I will advice you not to use any battery notification app or any task killers.
There is a trick to convert your ext. sdcard to recognize as int. sdcard by changing in void.fstab file located in /system/etc/. Then you can install large size games also. Search in xda forum for this.
Rooting is very easy with SuperOneClick software, just follow the instructions carefully.
Now to change the model name, goto /system/ with the help of ES file explorer open build.prop file then
find the line
"ro.product.model=F1" and change F1 to AX01.

do you have teamviewer and good internet speed?.... if you want i will try to root your tablet using teamviewer.
Why dont you try this first, follow the steps given in the below link.

Boot ANimation
The new boot animation is horrible, although i feel the bootup time compared to the ICS stock rom is much faster..
There is a new option for GPS in the tab..(seems fake.)
The camera resolution is 640 X 480. ( if you actually go to see, the camera is an 1.3 megapixel camera,,, its only been lowered to shoot at 0.3--- this is confirmed.)
Jelly bean is really awesome..
Smooth and responsive( what more can you expect from the rom manufacturer(shenzen lyric),, ARE YOU listening IBERRY..)

Everything is working on MIUI with no crashes or bugs.
To enable Root once MIUI is flashed go to the Security app (not security in settings) -> Permission -> Root Permission
To enable 4G/LTE type *#*#4636#*#* in dialer/phone then go to Phone Information -> Set Preferred network type -> Change from WCDMA to LTE/GSM/CDMA auto (PRL) *Note* You may have to do this after every reboot

all right, condensed post for a one stop shop to upgrade the M512 to the latest firmware (2260) AND root with gapps and the files are based on a actual fast server (mine)
first get this: original 2260 rom
then this: root
and finally: gapps
to get this on the phone:
install the rom first like usual: personal favourite is putting zip on sd card and use the "adb reboot recovery" command and install the zip from recovery.
rebbot and do basic setup (for wifi) as needed.
to get root: connect usb! press volume + and - AND power and HOLD, after 10 sec the phone will turn off/reboot twice, the second time the blue led will turn off, release the power button but keep holding both volume keys. you will get black screen and simple info like imei number.
now use the root.bat to actually root the phone. it will take about 20 seconds. check the screen for any errors, any error will basically fail the root.
install gapps the same way as root.
congrats, you now have a M512 that has a actual working gps, proper data connections and gapps. if you want to check the glonass sat's: watch for sat numbers above 64, those are glonass.

or it doesnt really matter?
the 15CN_1_03A is still a 4.4.2 kitkat.
also how did you managed with the low internal memory ? i have only 500mb free and i had to install link2sd to free some space.
still pretty sad picture.. and i cant find any way around it.

I had no GPS signal until I flashed 1080_0_15CN, and if you flash the root ROM without it, you'll have no GPS signal.
The internal memory is my biggest gripe, I don't know what to do. I think I'll have to use link2sd too, I can't install apps now. It comes up insufficient space ??

I did . now i can get it running as i like.
also delete all the chinese crap - foxconn apps- this should release you more 100-200mb.
i think there is some issue with the system because 4gb is enough for android .
some thing is wrong.

okay i did some research and yes- 4gb should be enough for android-
i'll have to search more for the problem and solution - will get back to you when i'll get some results.

Okay, the phone is still new to find out how to fix it.
i am following a russian forum which will release a custom rom soon ( i believe ) .
also i did found that after you do a link2sd, the memory filled up with cache files., use auto cache cleaner .
this should hold the phone for some time..

I do know a little russian, cant write though..
the rom creator said that there is a lot of work to do and he is on vacation. so expect it next week .

Use ext4 when formatting the sd card, although make one FAT32 partition larger then the ext4.
as well Kitkat 4.4.2 use a lot of internal storage . i wonder if there is a way to reverse to android 4.2.2
but i"ll wait for the new rom first.

Well from what I can tell, porting a ROM from a device with the same Screen size, resolution and processor is the best way to go. And i believe the only device that fits that is the 2014 Moto G

It just installs apps onto the internal storage and in Link2Sd it says the app is linked to the Sd but its not on the Sd and when I go to move it to Sd I get an error :/

I no longer have this tablet. This is an amazing device, and I enjoyed my time with it. Chances are that the information that are here are not the most updated. You can expect updated information at this thread.
There are a lot of scattered information everywhere about this tablet, so this is just an attempt to put those together in one place. Recently this tablet is gaining a lot of users due to its price and performance, I just hope that it helps the new users getting started. This is not my work, so I don't take any credit. No thanks necessary. Please thank the original contributors.
All the steps mentioned here are individually tested by me and at least worked for my device. However, I cannot guarantee that it will work on yours too, and I am not responsible for any damage to your device due to following or not-following this tutorial.
This thread is made possible due to the contribution of XDA members @Sparkrite, @Old faithful, @lee2006 and others. Special thanks to @clsA for providing the download links. Many thanks to @Tzul as stock firmwares and OTA updates were originally obtained from his work @ android-hilfe.de.
And we can not mention well enough the contributions of @Chainfire for root and @rovo89 for Xposed.
1. ROOT
Root with Kingroothttp://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/one-click-root-tool-android-2-x-5-0-t3107461
(Easy Method) Use this method if you don't want to change to a custom recovery
So far it has been reported to be working on the Kitkat 4.4 rom only. The steps are as easy as it could get. download the Kingroot app, and let it do it's work. You shall be rooted.
Replace Kingroot with SuperSu
Now, giving super user access to your device to any app is no joke. And many of us feel a bit uneasy with the Kingroot app. There are 2 ways to replace Kingroot with SuperSu
(Paid option )Use the Super-Sume Pro app app from the play store.
(Free option) Follow this guide here if you are not afraid of getting your hands dirty with couple lines of codes in terminal emulator. Note that the terminal will show a lot of errors, but it will still get the job done.
Root with Custom Recovery
Follow the steps for installing Custom Recovery in section 3
Reboot into Recovery mode.
Use the 'Install Zip' option in your Custom Recovery to install 'BETA-SuperSU-v2.49.zip' and you shall be rooted.
2. Install Xposed Framework
Installing xposed requires a rooted device. Root your tablet with one of the above methods.
Kitkat
Download the Xposed Installer apk. Install the apk, you will get a security warning. You need to check app installation from 'Unknown Sources' in Security settings. Once installed go to the xposed app, under 'Framework' click 'Install/Update' You can ignore the red warning. Restart your device after that. Download any modules you like and start customizing your tablet!
Lollipop
Lollipop requires installing Xposed via recovery, so having a custom recovery besides root is also a requirement. Download the latest version of Xposed. Android 5.0.1 =SDK21, and this tablet runs in ARM 64 bit mode. Download xposed-v##-sdk21-arm64.zip, copy it to the tablet, and install it from custom recovery. The first boot afterwards can a long time 5-10 minutes. Also download and install the latest XposedInstaller app (currently XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk ), to manage the modules.
3. Install Custom Recovery
Install USB driver
This one is a tricky process.
Download SP_Drivers and extract the files.
Start Device Manager on the PC
Turn off the tablet and connect it to the PC via USB cable. Device manager will refresh and show MT67xx vcom for a couple seconds only. Quickly right click on it and select install driver manually, navigating to the directory of the SP_Drivers
Disconnect the tablet
Install TWRP Recovery using SP Flash Tool
Download and extract TWRP for Lenovo Tab 2 A10-70.
Download and extract the latest version of SP Flash Tool
Start SP Flash Tool, in Download tab get the scatter file from the recovery zip package. Use the Android4 file for Android 4.4 Kitkat, and the Android5 file for Android 5 Lollipop. Make sure only the recovery is ticked, and on the drop down menu 'download only' is selected. Click on the location column on the right of 'recovery' and browse to the recovery file depending on your android version.

In SP Flash Tool, click Download.
Connect the turned-off tablet to the PC. Recovery will flash in a matter of seconds and you will get a big green OK on the software.
Close SP Flash Tool.
Remove the tablet and make sure you do not start it, but get into recovery instead. Press 'volume up and power' and maintain that for about 10 seconds, past the vibration and the start of splash screen. A dark screen with very small characters will show up with three options: Recovery, Fastboot and Normal. Don't touch anything unless you make sure you understand what the buttons do. Volume up is used to navigate (go to Recovery), volume down activates the selection. DON'T select any other option! The power button has no effect.
TWRP will start.
Note that if you are already rooted, you can flash recovery via Flashify, Rashr, etc. You can also flash via Fastboot.
4. Flash Stock ROM with SP Flash Tool
There could be many reason to go back to all stock. Soft brick, return device to manufacturer for repair, Downgrade or upgrade OS, etc.
Make sure you have the USB driver installed (procedure in the previous section)
Download Stock ROM. Latest Lollipop A10-70F_S000121_151222_ROW or here. Kitkat A10-70F_S000021_150501_ROW_USER. Extract.
Download and extract the latest version of SP Flash Tool
Power off the tablet and run flash_tool.exe in the extracted SP flash tool folder
Click 'Scatter-loading' and chose MT6752_Android_scatter.txt file in the extracted stock rom folder. Make sure on the drop down menu 'download only' is selected.
Click 'download' and then connect the turned off tablet to the computer. The progress bar will show. It takes about 5 mins for the flash. A big green 'OK' button will show the end of the process. Disconnect the tablet and power it on. It may take up to 10 mins for the first boot. If it still not booting force turn off by pressing on the power button and start again.
The tablet should be powered off when connecting it to the computer, for both installing the preloader drivers and for flashing. This one is a very important step, and it won't work with a turned on tablet.
5. Tips
If you are in stock Kitkat, you can reboot to recovery mode by going to the 'system update' app and clicking the rectangular button on the top right corner.
To give sd card write access to any apps... If you are rooted this can be overcome by using apps like SDFix, HandleExternalStorage xposed module, or others.
Strangely there is no option to change Lockscreen wallpaper in the settings menu. This can be done by opening any image with the default Gallery app and going to 'set picture as'....
6. OTA update to latest version of Lollipop
The latest update mostly fixed the wifi issue many people have been struggling with.
Use SP Flash Tool to flash System and Recovery only from Lollipop firmware provided on section 4. Choose recovery and system only to return to stock. From stock recovery choose install update from sdcard and then choose the lenovoota.zip
Link to OTA >> A10-70F_S000120_150907_ROW_TO_A10-70F_S000121_151222_ROW
first bootup takes about 10 min like any system update

I'm going to just put this here, it really doesn't need it's own thread
This is a TWRP Restore of some stuff I put together for my Tablet
You need the latest Lollipop software installed from #4 above (A10-70F_S000121_151222_ROW_clsA) - and you need the latest TWRP from @Tzul as your custom recovery.
How to install:
01. Boot to TWRP.
02. Create a backup on your external SD card. (Backing up "Boot" is more than enough. We only want TWRP to create the needed directories on your SD card.)
03. Download the backup I uploaded here >> nova.xposed.gsam.airdroid.supersu.zip
04. Unzip the downloaded backup.
05. Copy the unzipped backup folder to "TWRP/BACKUPS/Lenovo_Tab_2_A10-70F/"on your SD card.
06. Restore the backup.
07. Boot to system. First boot may take about 3 or 4 min.
Here's whats in the Restore
Nova Launcher (you can choose it on first boot or use the normal launcher, your choice)
Busybox
SuperSU
Xposed + Xprivacy and Gravitybox
Gsam Battery Monitor
Airdroid
ES File explorer
Terminal Emulator
Custom Wallpapers
bloat apps removed (most google stuff left in)
Boot and shutdown animations disabled.
Here's some screen shots - it's nothing too fancy but it should save you some time setting everything up if you need to redo your system.
If you like these Apps buy the pro versions in the Play store
If you want to thank Tzul for his work you can do so here >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/donatetome.php?u=5919159
Thanks go to
@Tzul for TWRP
@Hashbang173 for the Xposed
@C3C076 for Gravitybox
@M66B for Xprivacy
and @Chainfire for SuperSU

Great Job, I would add some of the original links for some of the files but what you have here is very effective.
I may try and publish a Custom Rom for this if I get the Time
For reference the files in my AFH account come from these forums
Stock Firmware and OTA updates >> http://www.android-hilfe.de/thema/l...g-firmware-recovery-root.739625/#post-9447919

Thanks a lot again, I shall update the OP with these original links.
Xposed working on Kitkat
Just found out that xposed is working on the stock kitkat rom.
At this point I am not sure which of the modules are working.
I tried few settings in GravityBox, which worked. Some benefits were obvious, like modding the statusbar, and advanced reboot menu.
Also tried 'Minminguard' and 'HandleExternalStorage'... The last one is quite handy as it fixes the sd card write issue in Kitkat.

I tried it on the Lollipop rom too but it got stuck on the bootscreen.

Sweet deals! But you won't believe, how much I got it for.
It was around black friday form Jet.com. They give an special offer to first time buyers, plus there was another discount on my Amex credit card. I got it for 120$ only. Can you believe it!
It's a hell of a device for the price.
Great post suhridkhan, you should ask one of the mods to place it on the first page of the usual forum.
Just one thing, maybe you should mention in Step 3 that the tablet should be powered off when connecting it to the computer, for both installing the preloader drivers and for flashing.
Again thanks for the post.
Great summary! Helps clean everything up for newbies and help them avoid the lengthy learning process we pioneers had to go through to gather all the necessary information

Amazing! In Canada the best deal was 250 loonies before taxes (approximately 160 dollars at the going rate? Or is it 140 now? ) In my case though, I got a 200 loony voucher from a colleague for a professional reference so in the end it only cost me 92 loonies (about $60). Better yet, my 64GB card cost me 37 loonies including taxes (about $26), just needed to fat32format it and add a line to the platform.xml file in system/etc/permissions folder to make it possible to use on KitKat
In case you were interested:(added 2015-12-31)
- using a root explorer, go to system/etc/permissions/platform.xml
- in the file find "android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE"
- under the line "<group gid="sdcard_rw"/> add "<group gid="media_rw"/>
Save and reboot. Remember to make a backup of the original platform.xml in case of problems
the only other thing SDFixr7 does is to revert the permission to stock should you chose to do so (honestly I cannot think that anyone in their right mind would ever want to do so)
I'm off to another endeavour now, to try to install the ICS based Motoblur Launcher with the CirclesWidget3D that I originally got from my wife's old Droid RAZR HD, it was a lot of hacking back then to get to run on my Note 2, but it's beautiful and the launcher is very efficient, I just can't stand the confusing Lenovo Launcher. I give myself until the end of the week to succeed

You are right about the lenovo launcher, it's totally unpleasant to the eyes. I am using nova launcher. Have you found a way to change the lockscreen wallpaer to sth other than the built in ones, all those are really ugly.
I just hope that somebody ports an AOSP rom for this tablet. I am no developer, but given that the source code is available, may be someone with the know how can make an attempt to it.

Noted and updated in the OP. Thanks for the clarification, this one is a very important step. I had to struggle quite some time for not doing that.

I simply removed the lockscreen altogether using Smart Launcher... But I'm going to take a look into the system files to see what I can do and get back to you on this.
As for the launcher backgrounds, I am totally in control of them now
There are two things you need to do, Simple Image Wallpaper, it's a live wallpaper, allows you to select two different images one for horizontal and for vertical. Basically I use both so I get the full frame in horizontal and vertical and voilà, perfect backgrounds
Horizontal:
Vertical:
And before you ask... No, this isn't the CirclesWidget3d, not nearly as nice, no 3d, but this version works with any launcher. This happens to be the Smart Launcher with Smart Launcher 2 theme. Good enough for now... Pictures are from my neck of the woods, taken a couple of months ago.

So I looked up the the lockscreen image, the file is system/etc/keyguard_wallpaper.png and is exactly 1800x1800. So make one in that format, make a backup of the original and rename your custom image with that name, reboot and let us know what came of it. Heck, while you're at it why don't you try a transparent .png, who knows, perhaps you'll get your homescreen wallpaper showing through the lockscreen? Nah, it'll probably be a mess, the lockscreen clock will interfere with the one on your homescreen
Disclaimer: remember this is untested... make sure you know how to restore that file from recovery should your custom one prevent normal startup... I didn't test this... you are going to be the guinea pig... Caveat lector!

First of all you live at a lovely place. The picture is so great. :good:
Smart launcher is a nice touch. But I think I am sticking with nova launcher because of its aosp look. (personal preference I guess)
There is a much simpler solution to changing lockscreen wallpaper, I have been stupid to not see it before. If you open any image with the stock Gallery app, then go 'set picture as', it gives you option for changing both desktop and lockscreen wallpaper.

Hey thanks for the compliments... I use QuickPick and it does as well... But for home screen wallpapers (I don't use a lockscreen, heck, I usually don't even lock the doors to my house) nothing that I've tried so far beats simple image wallpaper

Good guides, suhridkhan!
Some notes:
In section 3. Install Custom Recovery, you wrote "speedboot". That should be fastboot.
In section 4. Flash Stock ROM with SP Flash Tool, I'd explicitly state to use the "Download Only" flash mode. It's the default mode, but some people might be tempted to play with it, and that's bad, as the other two modes (Format All + Download, Firmware Upgrade) will wipe clean the entire flash memory, as far as I know. Including invisible and important partitions like NVRAM. Just take a look at this bad guide (on the official Lenovo forums no less) that uses Format All, and how people who followed it comment that they're getting NVRAM errors (because they lost their WLAN and Bluetooth MAC addresses and config)...

Totally agreed and I thought I had made it clear in my prior postings when I insisted on Download Only, precisely for the reason you state, after having read the exact same thread you refer to...

I am also going to back up my apps on sd card before doing that.
