My friend told me to root but idk how to flash 15.3.A.1.17

This thread is about XPERIA SOLA.
I rooted the phone using bin4ry and installed cwm touch.
My current android is ICS(4.0.4) and firmware is 6.1.1.B.1.10 2-3 days ago I received an update notification to firmware 6.1.1.B.1.54 When I try to update it shows couldn't install whether it is Ota or using computer. I have rooted but bootloader is locked. I want to unroot so that I can update. I also want to uninstall cwm...........so please help me.
I would love to achieve root without unlocking the BL. Like it is described in this post for the Z1.
The idea would be to flash the FTF for the (stock) JB kernel with Flashtool, apply Easyroot and then flash back the original kernel. At least on the Z1 it seems to work.
I would be willing to try, I just don't know how to get the FTF with the two kernels. Hopefully this shouldn't delete any data either and the root might stick with any future KitKat OTA updates. Does anyone know how to get a copy of the FTF for the D2303 JB and 18.3.1.C.0.21 kernels?

To get FTF for 2303 JB version, please look at the forum, maybe someone has posting FTF files for 4.3 android version.
For 18.3.1.C.0.21 kernel, you can obtain that from FTF 18.3.1.C.0.21, but only flash kernel. Don't wipe data and exlude anything except Kernel in flashtool while flashing.
Maybe you should try XperiFirm for download FTF files.

Ok, thanks. But all JB links I've found are dead. Still is it actually possible with Flashtool to just flash the kernel(s) from the whole ROM without wiping anything? That would be great.
My issue right now is that I can't find any active link to the JB ROM. Also I nearly finished my monthly Internet traffic quota already. And I don't have a Windows PC either (I use OSX). So if anyone with the ROMs and the right skills could make the kernel only FTFs I would really appreciate it.

Actually i have found one 4.3 FTF firmware. It's for D2303 and i have flashed only jb kernel on 4.4.2 but it's not working. After Sony logo, phone only switches on/off so you can't get to bootanimation even. If you have any idea tell me im going to test it. What we need is patched 4.4.2 kernel which we are going to push su file and then flash our original kernel.
Well my model is D2306, and I did the following:
1 - Flash JB ftf, root with towelroot and install SuperSU from playstore (dont update binary)
2- Update through OTA (Update Center) to KK 4.4.2, and then to 4.4.4.
3- Through flashtool, apply root via towelroot again, after reboot, install SuperSU to /system.
And now I'm rooted with locked BL. Try yourself.

Yea, that's working for D2303 too, but is little boring. So everytime when you going to brick your phone while changing build.prop for example or something like that you have to repeat that process and with this idea (just changing the kernles) could be great because it takes less time and it's easier.

So how does it work? After downgrading to 4.3 it gets two OTAs? I think the trick updating with OTAs works because the OTAs must just do an incremental install. Still i can't afford to do it every time, due to my network cap restriction (I know. It feels like living in Neanderthal).
Hi there,
yesterday I updated my XT925 Stock 4.1.2 to the 4.4.2 update. That worked great but removed root.
I then opened the bootloader, flashed TWRP, flashed SuperSU and installed SlimKat.
It's OK, but I really would like to get the stock ROM back, I'm missing many features.
Unfortunately the Recovery-Backup didn't survive the process
Can I flash the 4.1.2 stock-ROM although I got the new bootloader by updating to 4.4.2 in the first time?
Where can I get the 4.2.1-ROM?
9.8.2Q-8-XT925_VQUL-1601_USERSIGNED_S7_USAVANQUO2DE02C.0R_LSAVNQJBO2DE_P014_A004_CFC.xml.zip

sbf.droid-developers.com seems offline and I can't find any mirror.
Or is there a KitKat-Stock-ROM out there? Can I install a canadian/... Firmware instead?
Thank you very much in advance!
I got it!
I'm back to the nice updated stock ROM and I also have root access.
Here's what I did:
Flashed the stock ROM via RSDLite (with the three lines getvar, tz and partition deleted from the xml).
(Rooted it via Motochopper to test some things, but it will be unrooted anyway by the following update)
Did the update to stock ROM 4.4.2 (no root anymore).
Since my bootloader is open I then flashed TWRP via Fastboot.
Then I installed SuperSU via TWRP and gained root again.
I'm looking for rooting my device with locked bootloader without recovery!! (d6603) on lollipop 5.0.2
Someone can help me?
Covered before.. U need to downgrade to 4.4.4, then root, then install recovery.. Then flash a pre-rooted 5.0.2 in recovery.

But I do not want recovery my device..
you cannot root a lollipop rom, you have to downgrade to KK, root it then upgrade again to a rooted lollipop rom, only way it via a flashable zip that can only be installed by using one of the 2 recoveries
why don't you want a recovery?

Not true. If you keep the locked bootloader and install a recovery you can still get official updates. But you will lose root, however you will always lose root of you officially update regardless of if you have recovery of not
Yes, but to apply the update you need a stock recovery.

I still do not want recovery .. it does not work as good like the original version ..
A root and a custom recovery is good to backup and most important : RESTORE a working version of the ROM in case of a soft brick.
But it is your choice.

I still prefer only root .. my old phone (Xperia s) made it only root .. no recovery or things like that .. This is the most recommended in my opinion but I do not know when in the new version of z3 came out with only root .. I'm really looking forward to it
HI I downgraded from Nougat to 5.1 original stock rom in order to root my phone but so far no method is working, I tried all KingRoot, KingoRoot , TowelRoot and God knows what. Can someone help please?
I have bootloader locked phone E6653. Which cannot be unlocked.......
Edit: Kingroot says Root Sucessful but after some time device reboots - Even if I check with root status checker app it says device not rooted. Well if everything fails a link to prerooted ftf rom for LB plz?
Thanks in advance.
