I am using Sprint MOTO G, in INDIA had Purchased from vendor in unlock state.
the SIM, Data, Messgae works fine..
But i am not able to use the Wifi Tethering option in it.
when tryng to check the "Check box" for 'Portable Wi-Fi hotspot' i get he Message pop up saying
"Unable to connect to data network; turning off tethering or Hotspot. You may not be subscribed the Tethering and Hotspot service; Please contact your phone company"
Please can anyone send his/'her carrier folder from the root of the device so that will be able to use the the said option...
as the Same Problem was in Sprint LG G2, 'the tethering was not enabled in the New LG G2, so i tricked to add the files from the Used Phone of Sprint LG G2 and it worked... the same Problem is here.'
If you have an alternate, Please share as i might be getting a short cut.

I have activated a Huawei u8730 "Unite Q" on simple mobile for someone. It is on the unlimited 4g plan. The phone was originally a t-mobile phone. Oddly enough, we activated to two phones and the other one's hotspot works fine! I can't remember what phone it was though. Anyway, the phone has a sweet, fast 4g connection and can browse the web, download, stream etc. with no problem. HOWEVER, when I try to activate the hotspot, I get a message saying "cannot connect to mobile data network". I'm inclined to believe that this phone has some sort of limitation on the wifi hotspot functionality put in place by t-mobile. I've also tried Foxfi and it will cycle through "verifying internet connection...starting hotspot 1 2 3" then flash something about failed for like a 10th of a second and turn back off. Would anyone happen to know of a workaround for this?

I use the AT&T s7 on cricket and I have a reoccurring issue with the mobile hotspot that I need help with. With no rhyme or reason the Hotspot will work one day and then the next day I get an error message "to enable mobile hotpot go to at&t.com to activate service". The next time it will work, does anybody have a suggestion on how to get this to work all the time. Thanks
They told me at cricket that the AT&T s7 on cricket will not tether. I can't even sign up for it on my line.
You may want to try FoxFi, its on the app store. I know it works with the Verizon S7 to enable the tethering while bypassing the carrier checks.
Foxfi does not work with Sprint.
I brought a unlock at&t phone and put Metro Pcs service on it. Everything works beside the hotspot and Bluetooth but I don't care about the Bluetooth just the hotspot. The message that comes up is something like this, Authentication failed. There is a temporally network problem that prevents use of the mobile hotshot. How or what do I need to do to fix it? Metro has the worst customer service.
I'm using my safelink wireless simcard in my AT&T note 8 phone. When I try to turn on the hotspot I get the message saying "mobile hotspot unavailable. You need a data plan on att network ect...." Clearly I'm not able to contact att to add a data plan when I dont have service with them in the first place. The only wat I can tether is using my pdanet app. I want to use the mobile hotspot icon? Can any1 help me please?

I'm looking for some help because now I'm hopeless. My Flex 2 one day a few day ago lost any possibility to connect to mobile network.
When I try connect to mobile network automatically I get a message "Unable to connect to this network at this time, try again later"
When I try to search available mobile network manually i get a message "Error while Searching, disable data transfer",
but all icons says that is no data transfer enabled.
When I try to change Preferred Network type to "GSM only", it jumps automatically to "GSM/WDCMA/LTE Automatic".
I thought that is an issue with sim card, but this sim work well in other mobile huawei, and the same issue occurs in GFlex with other sim, so it is definitely issue with Flex.
I tried everything, restore to factory settings, update an android, root, but without succeed.
So maybe someone of You meet this issue and know solution of this.
I'll be very grateful for any advises.
