Has anyone found a working module that will allow swipe 2 adjust brightness on the HTC M8?
Sense 6 Toolbox has an option for it. Probably not what you're looking for though. You can't access it by just swiping on the notification bar (if that's what you want). You have to pull down the on the notification bar to access it. It adds the slider there.
New to HTC.. From S3
Looking for this feature too Toolbox it does the same as the current installed default toolbox which allow me to drop the top slidebar and access the applets.
Thanks,

Title is pretty self explanatory. I love Immersive/Expanded mode. I use LMT Launcher and LockerPro Lockscreen banner notifications, so don't need to see the status bar often. However, I do find it a little annoying to have to swipe to show the status bar, then swipe again to expand the notification drawer. I have tried a few status bar expander apps, but they just don't work unless I already swipe to show the status bar. I've looked around at various apps and Xposed modules, but haven't found that solution yet. Any ideas?
Hello, I'm looking for a mod that adds the option of setting brightness by sliding across the status bar. To clarify, this is not the same as a brightness slider in the notification panel. You literally slide on the status bar with out having to pull anything down first. It's a crucial feature for me since I go in and out of the Sun a lot during the day. Thanks!
Viper ROM has it as an option so I know it is compatible with Sense roms. I'm running CleanRom now.
Tried GravityBox xposed module and it has the option but when I enable it, it doesn't actually go into effect...
Are you running the Kitkat version of it? Also you shouldn't even need to do this, the auto screen brightness adjustment on this phone is quite good and should adjust it properly for you even quicker than the status bar slider mod you're looking for can.

Yes, I was using KitKat version. The JB version won't even install on a KK phone...
I'd use Auto Brightness if I could set the lower limit to go all the way down to 0% but I can't find settings to customize that. Do you know an Xposed module that can?
In case you were wondering how to set the maximum automatic brightness level
A Google Search:
From the Home screen, tap > Settings > Display & gestures or Display, gestures & buttons. With the Automatic brightness option selected, drag the slider to set the maximum brightness level. This sets a limit on how bright the screen will be when Automatic brightness is selected.
Great answers.
How can one add this feature?
Hi
i did a search but cant seem to pin a how too
I want to be abled to always show even if status bar is transparent over top of a game playing so I can see what the wifi and battery is doing
I know can slide finger down. but it auto hides..
1) how can you change the time out of that
2) turn it auto hiding again..even if its finger swipe up
I search xposed modules but onyl found one that changes colour of clock and adds battery percentage
but nothing there to always show e.g. in full screen
if theres a module or app that edits build pro easily so can turn off and on would be great
cheers
I found a app.. but makes background solid its better then nothing
but thought xposed would have a option like this and choose transparent or own colours
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.jskt.togglestatusbar&hl=en
dont worry I found using the app below to turn it off and on when need and xposed module
Force Translucent KitKat and tick status but leave nav bar untick did the job!
does the trick.. now no black background but see through so it dont hide the
scores etc behind the status bar
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.jskt.togglestatusbar&hl=en
UPDATE--- found a better module for xposed but have to pay $3 for pro version
has a pop out you can enable to customise transparency and color for status bar
flat style colored bars
bonus is I can make the nav bar solid color like black with white font instead
of see through when swiping to bring up over top of a game
Greetings!!!
I'm trying to fully disable the NavBar without success...
If I try to mod build.prop adding the following line at the end of the file:
qemu.hw.mainkeys=1
My system just crashes.
That's the tweak that i've been using to disable the NavBar on every phone I had before.
I read somewhere that I can just set my phone to be always on immersive mode via a terminal command, and that's way I did to "hide" the NavBar, but every time I swipe up "by mistake", the bar appears (or every time I try to use the keyboard).
I don't need the NavBar because I use LMT, it just takes space on my screen.
Can anyone please help me sort this out???
Best regards!!!

This is a method, setting DPI of nav bar to zero. Also there is immersive mode. Also if rooted there are apps that can hide the status and nav bars. I used an app called Tile root for Nougat. It worked great. Now I use a custom ROM which has it built in.
Hello,
I use an app called Display Brightness which allows me to toggle the brightness instantly with an overlay bar in the notification bar. I just installed it onto my S8+ and it doesn't appear within that notification bar, it displays it just under it which kind of ruins any apps that require text input at the top (which seems to be a lot).
Is there any reason for this? Or is there any alternative app which allows instantly display toggle from the notification bar?
Thanks

Look at screenshots attached.
This is what i use
One app is called Lux Dash (Play Store)
Other snapshot is an app Shortcutter ((Play Store)
It might give you some idea what to do.
The built-in brightness bar can even be shown just above the notification bar, without having to expand the quick settings panel.
And apparently in the future Android O the TYPE_SYSTEM_OVERLAY will be deprecated and apps overlaying the status bar will no longer work.

Please delete this post, it duplicated for some reason after editing
Hmm that's disappointing that they are going to make this feature obsolete, this app has been by far the most useful ever, oddly, when I restart the S8, the brightness toggle overlay does appear in the notification bar but then after a few minutes, it appears further down again as shown in the screen shot.
This screen shot shows the S7 toggle bar working perfectly
This screen shot shows the S8 working less perfectly lol
I understand the default one can show at the top of the notifications bar but that requires the drawer being pulled down doesn't it? This app allows toggle immediately from the top of the phone on any app etc without any further touch
