There are quite a few techniques and tools available to help you better remember important details about your work contacts. For example, you could manually keep a journal of key information or store these facts on their business cards in your Rolodex—that is if anyone even remembers what a Rolodex is. But of course, manually writing things down is a bit too last century for most of us here on XDA.

A simple reminder for your contacts
Welcome to NOTEify, a helpful application that will be useful for creating a clear schedule and be reminded of all the tasks you need to do in order to live your life in a more organized way.
Sync your contacts, create color notes and have them show during calls, so you always know what you want to say to them. You can drag around the notes to hide them or have them present, whatever feels more comfortable. In addition, feel free to send the note to other contacts if you find it useful.
The design of NOTEify is great, everything is minimalist and clear and NOTEify becomes a helpful and simple tool for professionals and also people who merely want to organize themselves better.

Good idea and useful. Work well on my nexus. I'll use it in my work.

Thank you! It's nice to get some comments
I would also love to hear improving suggestions from users:good:

Hey guys,

Added New Poll
Hey Guys,
Many thread view, many downloads and not so many comments..
So I decided to add a new poll with a usefulness question about NOTEify.
Thank you for your time :good:

I tried it but it was taking to long to sync so I stopped it.

Hi, thank you for trying it out.
The sync is only one time proccess. It needs to take you entire contacts list and ALL of their data (everything including addresses, emails, more than one phone number, images and other details..)
*it is a Contacts App so it needs the data so you can use it in NOTEify with ease.
After your are doing it ONLY one time, the app is listening to you contacts apps and adds contacts that where added in other contact apps automatically..
Im happy you tried it, and hope you might give it another shot sometime.. I promise it worths it

New version
Hey guys.
A new version (1.6) with syncing problems in some devices was fixed.
Also the syncing performance is now faster and more reliable.
Also added new screen shots to the main thread.

@mdmdmd27 the initial contact sync is a pain as it takes too long. Find a way to make this faster and work on the design and it will be a top app.
Thanks

Hey pemell, thank you for the comment and advice!
I am working on the speed of contact syncing, it is very important for me to get it done faster and more efficient.
I have uploaded a new version, it will be up in the Google Play in a couple of hours, I would love to hear you opinion then..
And if you would like, I will be happy to hear your opinion on the design to

-Changed layout to be more "HOLOish" and light.
-Fixed layout bugs reported by some users.
-Increased the speed of syncing contacts.
-Contacts sync now can be stopped and fully recovered when continued from last stopping point.

Hi DrunkUncas,
Thanks for trying, I would love to hear your comments
I have fixed the video link.

It's ok. Just tried it. Import was at good speed. :good:
My suggestions:
1. Other languages? I want it in german, please.
2. Dark theme. White is nice, but hurts my eyes. :cyclops:
3. When in list-view with notes showing, you can't see where the next contact begins. Or: Gridlines are not visible.
That's it from me. Overall I like it. THX

Hi ds1508,
Thank you for trying and thank you for the suggestions!
1-I wish I could find someone who could translate NOTEify to other languages..
I only know English so this is the main language for now.
If you know anyone who can translate it (for free at the moment, not a lot of text to translate though..)
I would love to talk with him
2-I might add an option to change between themes in the next version, I am thinking about it.
3-Thanks for stating it, I will fix it in the next version.
Thanks again for the contribution
Peace.

[APP DEV] Calendar Droid. Would like some feedback on my new app.

I'm developing a calendar app to replace the stock app for Google Calendar.
Link to app: https://market.android.com/details?id=dk.alxb.calendardroid
The app is in BETA stage and I would love to get some feedback from you guys. You can write here, or you can email CalendarDroid [AT] gmail com and I will respond quickly.
I would love to weed out the Google Calendar related bugs on the BETA and focus on adding new great features.
The philosophy behind the app is a calendar that is easy to use, clean, intuitive, and highly customizable.
What is currently implemented:
Month View / Week View / Day View / Agenda View
A few settings to customize
What needs done before release:
Removal of all bugs
Search
Custom "add/edit event" windows
More views (14 day?)
Selection of shown calendars
More intuitive navigation
National holidays
WIDGETS! Lots of them. (Might be Paid version only)
Your suggestions!
Hi there,
Very nice app,better than stock
I would like to give you some suggestions. If I were you I would do these.
If you compare your app with others, they are similar in view aspect. Since screen is not that large for everyone, the word "presentation" for ex. wouldn't fit the box and square boxes appear nice too instead of rectangle. Something like iphone calendar ( I appreciate what is good in ios or android)
To solve the space issue, you could put color codes or words and make them customized.
PPl can assign red to school, brown to office....
When you click them, a window pops up and shows the complete schedule
Note I have exaggerated things on images, not all boxes should have too many colors, by using square you can use the extra space down there for quick note or whatever you like. Didnt have time to make eeach box different
Again Im sure you can find better ideas, You can sell more if show something extra

Wow thanks for your suggestions. The color coding for the events you mention are just different calendars right? I for example have a Google Calendar for school, one for work, one private and so one. Each with a different color. Color coding of individual events would take some time to do manually.
You mention a window popping up when you click on one of the square day fields. What about making the lower part of the screen a scroll view with events of the day you have pressed? Then if you press on the square again you go to day view, but this way you can more quickly see the events for the day without loading a new view.

No problem at all.
You can for ex say you just wanna see work schedule, so instead of general window, u see a new one with let say brown color and only work related. new window for school and so on.
If you wanna see everything then you can have a general window that shows everything together.
Cuz it's hard to fit all the words inside the box (like in my first image) you can use colors or words or any other shapes you prefer.
Yes that's better idea use the extra space for scroll i like that may be more buttons, shortcuts, it has so many potentials. This way you keep it really clean, easy to access and havent seen anyone doing it
Make copy and paste of events possible and easily done from one date to another. Please see http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=2618 for a list of people who are angry this isn't already implemented. This is a pain if the event does not regularly reoccur thus has to be entered over and over by the user or the user has to go to a desktop or notebook to fix it from the web client. My Razor did this so it is just weird it can't be done on stock Android.

Thanks. That is a great idea. I think my next larger feature is custom add/edit event windows. Right now I use the ones from your default calendar.
With my own customer views for adding and editing events the possibilities are endless. Of course copy and paste will be a simple thing to implement. Then there are the ability to make more advanced recurrence rules, easier selection of dates (on a month like view), and much more.
Yeah! A useful month view!!!!
IMO, the month view is the winning feature. I can actually see is going on! What this isn't stock if beyond me. Thank you for, well, using your brain.

I wouldn't waste time implementing this in the app. I don't know about other countries, but there is a Google calendar for the US. I just subscribe to it.
- WIDGETS! Lots of them. (Might be Paid version only)
I am curious to see what you have in mind, but, IMO, these could wait. I currently use Android Agenda Widget, because it integrates with Astrid.
Anyways, I think you are off to a great start. I look forward to see what you cook up.

I most definitely agree with @weareallkosh that national holidays are not worth investing your time (at least not at this point, there are many higher-priority issues to deal with in the stock calendar app).
Since even Google couldn't implement holidays right in their calendars you can subscribe to (and they declined to answer why), I think your time is best spent elsewhere. So many people were complaining about the defects in Google's "US Holidays" calendar, most particularly that it does not extend far enough into the future that I created one from scratch that incorporated "recurring formulas" for all future dates, and I generated and merged in all "irregularly repeating" holidays, such as Easter, and "nudging" dates such as "Tax Returns Due" to the following Monday when April 15 falls on a weekend day, etc.
Since anyone can subscribe to this (or any other nationality/ethnicity/belief-based) calendar, there's little incentive for you to duplicate the effort. Also, particularly if you wish to support multiple nationalities, cultures, contemporary versus traditional versus orthodox religion variants, and so on, you can quickly get bogged down in endless debates over which dates ought to be included in which calendars, as well as having to investigate frequent reports of "your calendar shows X falling on Y date, but that's wrong", many of which are inaccurate. Just sucks your time away from more urgent issues.
Cant wait to test this app. Will the calendar have a bi-weekly event capability?
@weareallkosh, @tgi007
Thanks guys. I will put national holidays way in the back. Your solution is much better tgi007, and hopefully someone will make something like it for other languages and traditions.
From the input I have received I have decided that the next feature is custom add/edit event views. This will make copy/paste of events, advanced recurrence rules, and intuitive date selection possible.
@Rico ANDROID
With the next feature implemented I will look into the best way to specify advanced recurrence rules. I have read the specification for the recurrence rules and biweekly is possible in the standard together with many more features.
The hard part will be how to specify these rules because the standard is really flexible. But I think some templates to select from is the way to go. Like the stock calendar, just with more options of course. AND the possibility to specify an end date to the recurrence or the number of recurrences.
But maybe I find a great way to specify it without making it too hard to understand.
Thanks all. More feedback is welcome. This is great!

Here is a link for folk https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.fred.feedex
Thanks for your work.
Thanks, I like this
I like the modern design and the dark theme.
A request ... In the widgets, it would be good if the user could choose the number of lines to display per item of news. To clarify, I'd like to see the main news item in bold at a user defined size along with maybe a line or two (as opted by me) of the news details. The headline alone does not allow me to understand if the item is worth opening. To get an idea of the look of the widget I intend, look at Scrollable news widget
Another thing is ... to keep in line with the latest Gmail, remove the refresh button and let the user pull down to refresh.
Cheers
Hi!
Sorry for the late answer, with the holidays I forgot it
Concerning the widget, I agree there is lot of improvements to do. This is not my priority because I would like to add some features to the application before (search, tablet support), but I'll do it and make FeedEx News Reader better and better, I just need time
Great app, thank you for this. I give you five stars in Play Store. Finally i can get rid of annoying feedly.
I have a question, though: how does exclusion filter work? Tried to apply it to some feed, seems not to work or i can't understand something. Let me explain. I read some russian news site called Mignews. The problem with them is that they don't post sport news in separate feed, and i totally uninterested in sport news. Every sport-related entry has a title starting with 'MIGsport:' and the actual title after it, so i thought i can filter these entries out by entering MIGsport: and checking «Apply to title», but these entries are still there. I am doing something wrong or don't understand the purpose of filtering?
Thanks for the stars I'm glad to see that some people really like FeedEx.
Concerning your issue, I think the filter is working but you have to know that it's effective only on futur news. The already downloaded news are kept, even if they match with the filter.
Can you confirm me that?
Well, I understand. Let me check it for couple of hours and I'll report back.
Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
Ok, if it's does not work, then there is chances that there is a bug inside FeedEx
I don't think it's a bug, let's wait and see. I set the app to auto-refresh every 30 minutes. What I'm going to do is to compare my timeline in FeedEx with desktop reader and my girlfriend's one. This way I'll know for sure. Will report my results later today.
Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
OK, tested and filtering works for newly downloaded entries! Thanks a lot!
Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
You're welcome.
I agree it's a little confusing, I should explain this somewhere into the app
Thank you for your application, it is very convenient! Tell me, are there plans to make a list of feeds foldable and add the ability to reduce the font in the "news"? On my Note2 they look very big.
Hi!
Sorry for the late answer
Concerning the possibility to fold the feeds, I was possible before but not today. I remove it to allow to clic on a group and to have more simplicity into the navigation drawer. For my use, the folding feature is still present into the feed edit screen to allow to move them easily into groups.
So I'm sorry but there is currently no plans for adding it again.
And concerning the font size can you post a screenshot or explain where exactly do you find the font too big?
Hi HoloAddict!
Nice program, thanks for your excellent work. By the looks of it, the only developing standalone RSS feed reader with offline mode on the market.
Some feature suggestions for this app:
- would be nice to be able to configure font and font size. I find current font the program uses is a bit inconvenient for my eyes. I would prefer the one used by gReader. But others may like the current font. Would be nice to have it configurable.
- would be nice to have per-channel settings for number of items and item expiration. Would also be nice to be able to prevent unread items from being automatically cleared (but still clear the read ones).
- would be nice to have channel groups collapsing and expanding in the channel list - this would save space in the channel list and optimise it's navigation.
- buttons "Show original text" and "See in browser" in the article reading mode - can you make them smaller or move to the header row? Or at least make this option configurable? For short articles they take half of the screen
- would be nice to have "back" button to return you from article list to channel list, and not quit the program (this might be personal. I just got used to this hierarchy: channel list --> article list --> article).
Apart from that - great app, thanks for your work!
Darsh
Hi!
Thanks for the comments!
Concerning your questions:
- would be nice to be able to configure font and font size. I find current font the program uses is a bit inconvenient for my eyes. I would prefer the one used by gReader. But others may like the current font. Would be nice to have it configurable.

You're the second one who tell me this. I personnally prefer the one use by feedex (otherwise I would not have choose it ), I believe it's less tiring. Do other people think as darsh?
- would be nice to have per-channel settings for number of items and item expiration. Would also be nice to be able to prevent unread items from being automatically cleared (but still clear the read ones).
Click to collapse
I do not want the first part (to keep it simple), but the second part is interesting, I think I'll implement it.
- would be nice to have channel groups collapsing and expanding in the channel list - this would save space in the channel list and optimise it's navigation.
Click to collapse
It was like this before, but I changed my mind to keep simplicity (code and UI) and allow some actions like clicking on a group. Moreover I used group collapsing especially for feed sorting, not for reading it everyday.
- buttons "Show original text" and "See in browser" in the article reading mode - can you make them smaller or move to the header row? Or at least make this option configurable? For short articles they take half of the screen
Click to collapse
I do not understood this one... Why the size of these buttons is a problem ? They are always at the bottom of the text.
- would be nice to have "back" button to return you from article list to channel list, and not quit the program (this might be personal. I just got used to this hierarchy: channel list --> article list --> article).
Click to collapse
You're not the only one to ask me this. I could do it but this is against the android principle of a navigation drawer. Look at the gmail app, the back button doesn't open the drawer. And if I do like you said, I can't quit the app with the back button... Moreover, the back button should do what it's aimed for: going back, not open a menu.
@HoloAddict: Actually, I wanted to ask for same: to place «Retrieve the full text» and «See in browser» buttons side by side. It looks better and more «polished» and takes less place.
Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
Side by side? I agree it would be better but I'm affraid there won't be enought width on lot of phone to be able to do that...
Nice App
@HoloAddict thanks for this App. I´m using youre feed reader now for a week and it´s really nice. Only thing missing for me atm is to switch filter from exclusion to inclusion because there are some feeds where I would prefer to get only news for filtered terms. :good: :good: :good:

[APP][3.1+] Friend Brush

Hi everyone,
I have recently published a new app called Friend Brush. Using this app you can create collages of smaller photos that look like a single photo when seen from distance (or zoomed out). You can pick your tiles from various sources, namely Facebook, Google+, or your device's gallery. For the big picture, you can either choose from your gallery or simply take a photo with the camera. Below is a sample of what can be done using this app:

Become a Google Play beta tester for the app. I have enabled beta testing for XDA Android App Testers Community.
OPTION 2:
Download the testing version from my official website. This version has all the basic features of the app, plus a report button you can use to contact me about a bug.
If you like the app, please make me extremely happy by tipping this to XDA Portal!
Friend Brush has just been updated. Now everyone can choose large tile photos. I also found some bugs in the previous versions and fixed them.

Great, thanks for sharing your work. Really nice idea to honor your friends with being a part of a new picture.
I have uploaded a new version to beta channels. I have tried to fix previous bugs. All the new features of 1.2.x are still in beta and not open to public. So, you can have first-hand access to those features (and help me perfect them). Thanks!
Nice idea and good work! Thanks

Your app is on the portal now: Easily Create a Photo Collage with Friend Brush :highfive:
As I told you, I like this app. Maybe a fantastic birthday present, when you make a big picture of your girlfriend/wife - of course with her on every tile

Yea, that's really great news. I will try to keep the app fresh through new features. I actually gave out birthday gifts to some of my fiends before I released the app when they asked how'd you do it, I told them about the app.
By the way, thanks for tipping.
Looks nice, gonna try it.
Nice idea but all my photos are on Google+ and I can't access them.

Thanks for the feedback. I will add this feature in the near future. However, the best results are with profile pictures as mosaics.

Thank you for your interest and your idea! Feedback like this helps me understand better what exactly users are looking for. Friend Brush was originally using just friend profile pictures for tiles (hence the name), and using photo albums was a late decision. So that part is still not mature enough. I will think about your idea to incorporate it in a user friendly way. Might not be in the next update, but for sure I will do it in the future. And if you like the app, I would be really glad if you rated it as I'm currently being stormed by haters on Google Play.
Thanks again!

Fantastic App! A few suggestions if I may.
1) I couldn't find anything that show's the full list of Premium features.
2) A little "help" about what the settings do would be useful. Like the random options of none to maximum. I tried both settings with the same brush and picture yet saw no difference.
3) It was not clear where the app was saving the creations or what it was calling them. Option to name them would be good. I plugged the phone in and searched the internal storage for "friends" to find where they were.
4) It would be great to be able to "favourite" the tiles you pick for the brush. In that if 2 tiles have virtually identical colour tags it would choose the 1 you marked higher priority. Although this is ofc a very minor suggestion
5) A bit of a "Tutorial" for want of a better word, more like basic help. As in the recommended number of tiles for the brush to get good results. I had about 200 of my little son and tried to make a creation out of that but the creation picture was poor. It was not really possible to make it out, this is most likely because of the lack of colours the app had available to make the creation because i had too few photo's. A little tip about this might stop people using too few and discarding the app as useless just because they didnt give it a fair shot.
6) Scrolling down the photo's in the creation is very slow (Xperia Z), maybe its possible for it to cache/thumbnail those. I have around 300 pics on my phone but it took a fair amount of time to scroll to pick a creation photo while it was loading them. It processed the brush and creation faster than browsing the album
Please dont take any of that as negativity, just suggestions. The app is absolutely brilliant and truly 1 of a kind!
Thanks
Adam
thanks for this wonderfull app....
one suggestion..when i am viewing the creation on my desktop while zooming the image it's blurred, but on phone its fine..can you have a look into this...

Thank you. How much are you zooming? Tile sizes are limited (32x32 pixels by default). You can set them to twice this size (64x64) by going to Settings. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your comments and your interest! I will answer your questions one by one here:
1) Did you click on "Why?" The button is available on the Google Play version, beside "Go Premium!" on Dashboard
2) There are Help pages about everything in the app. Just hit the menu button and choose Help from overflow menu. You can swipe to the screen you desire. Otherwise go to Settings and choose Help from there.
3) The app saves the creations to Pictures/Friend Brush on your external storage. Naming option can be added in the future.
4) I am thinking of new options for tiles for future updates.
5) Obviously the app can't do magic. 200 photos is a good number if they have diverse color tones. Camera shots normally have very flat range of colors. The app works best with profile pictures of your friends. About 300 profile secures a diverse enough spectrum.
6) I will look into that.

Some improvements required
The app is great and it has great functionality consider the first release. But since it is the first release it is bound to have some problems.
These are the problems I faced and I hope these will be taken care of.
1. On smaller screens(4.3") the contents are not displayed properly. Things are getting overlapped.
2. The colour of the text should be contrasting to the background so that it is easier to write.
3. Specific time should be added.
4. The app doesn't treat 11 p.m. as a indication of time but instead uses it as a text.
5. While using a specific time the app crashes.

Cool :good: That's awesome. Do let me know your feedback on how it works and also if you have any suggestions for improvement. :fingers-crossed:
i wish i could organize the tasks in a better way.
For instance, I wrote down that i need to re enroll for my college classes by the beginning of march. then i put a reminder to do my laundry. now obviously enrolling in school is more important than laundry so i put it at a higher level of importance, but i can do my laundry before i can re enroll for classes, so the laundry task should be the one thats on top, even though the importance of it is lower than re enrolling (because i can do it first)
so you should add some type of time thing, maybe a calendar where i can add tasks and once every few days it goes up in priority as it reaches closer to the target date and time.

I can understand your views, however this app is for planning your current day only and right now not meant for future planning. I mean Ledo is meant to help people like you and me do tasks in an efficient manner and stop procrastination by suggesting tasks needed to do in a single day.
For example, you can chalk out your rough plans for today right in the morning and it will suggest you tasks to do throughout the day based on both the task's importance and urgency.
For adding time just type like this - Do laundry by 5 pm (or any time you like, it will automatically fetch the time from your statement). The task's priority will increase automatically as it reaches the time specified by you.
I hope that helps.
Looks good, but I do have some suggestions :
1. Google Calendar sync (as I use Google a lot)
2. Allow to create a list where I can categorize my stuff. Something like you find in Wunderlist or todoist or gtasks for example.
3. Add a dark theme maybe.
Cheers!

Though google integration will be great like birthdays and all. As we need to download a different app for birthday reminder. but if this can take and birthdays from calendar and say a reminder for the day that would be great!!.

Thank you for being an alpha tester. Please keep in mind that...
I'm opened for requests/ideas
I'll even fix any bugs you find!
Will change the name of the app to something better, since "latest news" will return at least 3029482093480 items when using search on google play store.

Gregor :good:
Rollout of new release has started:
Version 0.0.1 build 6
- Improved speed of scrolling in Favorites list and News of Source
- Implemented the grabber system which fetches the whole article and parse possible text of article including images (this is alpha of alpha app!)

Another huge update being rolled out today: Custom feeds!
There's been lots of refactoring, small fixes and improvements, but the biggest thing is finally implemented. Adding custom feeds. Just add the url of the news page or direct feed url (example http://www.cbc.ca/news), select a category and hope for the best!
Feel free to report any bugs you find.
After some release-break, here's yet another one. This has been an amazing month with a-lot of effort going towards development. Started as a simple newsapi client, I've got a few requests for which, I was sure it will take a while to implement them all. Since today, Latest News includes:
- a superb wizard just to remind you its beginner friendly,
- revamped source adding, which doesn't relly on newsapi anymore but uses own methods to fetch xml feeds and parse the data,
- super awesome grabber(tm), which downloads and parses the whole article from the websites, removes everything except the text story and images.
- an awesome back-end synchronization, which makes sure, your sources are always safe,
- and increadible new and redesigned menu (yea, this deserves a place on the list too!) and extra animations
It has been an awesome month.
Now, its up to people to start using it
Another update has been pushed to beta channel:
- added feeds Gruenderszene, NBA, JS weekly, Android Police, XDA-developers, Mac Rumors
- update sync so it will now handle a conflict between different remote/local entries; you will now have options to overwrite local, db or merge both,
- added read flag to article after it has been read.
- fixed the issue with images not being overwritten after refreshing the articles
- fixed the width of items which text isn't long,
- synchronizing favorites should now also work better
Enjoy!
Hi everyone! I'm happy to announce the first PRODUCTION release being rolled out.
Enjoy and don't forget to submit any bugs you find or feeds suggestions you would like to see in the app.

Wow the app is really cool. I will give it a try for a few days and see what It can do.
Just a question: can you add a way to login using Google account? There's a lot of passwords to remember and using Google is much better, with synchronization is superb.
PS: If you need someone to help you translating to portuguese let me know.
Finally an app that allows me read short rss feeds in full. Loves it. Please any plans for an import feature so I can import my feedly subscriptions? Thanks
plans to add to XDA labs or f droid?

good evening @sourbear and thank you for your report. Just for test, please try adding "neowin". There are A LOT of sources, that just don't add image as leading article image (default rss image for specific article). However, it just happened none of your picked up source articles currently dont include any images.
MTV, at that time, had images, I've tested it again and what you found is correct. (Shame on them! ). Give them all a day or two.... you will start seeing them eventually. :good:
math in blogs
This is a great news for me, as I have been using feedMe for some time, but it cannot display mathjax properly.
So, two questions, do you plan to add mathjax/mathml support, and offline support as well?? Right now I tried https://terrytao.wordpress.com/feed/ and the math is not shown properly. Some formulas appear too big, some don't appear at all. Thank you for your work @greglord

Hi there
I will take a look immediatelly what's going on with those formulas!
Update @gilcu3
Just checked the source of the article and... oh my So far, I've made the formulas visible, however, since there is so much mixing between paragraphs and images (formulas), the "grabber" does not add texts to the full story. I humby ask for re-test after new update. If the content isn't something that suits you, I will invest more time and refactor the grabber to be more smart.
