So i tried looking up google and see other people who might have had the same issue, but couldnt find anything...
When I type ##778# to enter EPST option window inorder to see if my phone is refurbished or not, it says " unknow application" or "erro wrong MMI"...
Any idea what the problem is ?
P.S
It didnt work when i had the original Verizon firmware as well... i am now back to stock verizon after switching 2-3 roms...
I found this site, http://mobilecon.info/htc-secret-code.html, not sure it has what your looking for. I also found that it might be ##778 without the # at the end.
Try it manually

I'm just curious if I flash my phone to boost mobile, can it be un-done? Also I know you have to use the sanyo ingnotio once you use it doing it that method is that phone still good, or is it no good after you do that?
I'm currently on step #6 where I Open QXDM, Select Options, Communications and select your port number,
When I try to do that step the only port is showing under GPS the first one just says disconnected, even when I click on it, I tried connecting/reconnecting, and even rebooting the phone and computers still no luck, any ideas guys, I even changed the usb port incase.

Sorry if this is the wrong section but it said I wasn't qualified to post in that section.
anyone know
So basically my imei has changed to 0 and baseband to unknown, Suddenly one day I lost signal and network.
I tried flashing different roms and radios and nothing worked, then i researched and found out that I will have to fix my efs which is possible by QPTS.
I need to know how to put my phone to DIAG mode to use QPTS, currently using cynogenmod 10.1 nightly on my Samsung SGH- I727 At&t Skyrocket.
So tellme how ?
Will I have to return to a stable release to use Diag or any other rom?
p.s i cant switch the stock using odin as it gets stuck in a boot loop but can flash other roms.
So if you know about enabling Diag mode on any other rom please tellme how and what rom is it.
Please help to restore my corrupt efs (which i read happens sometimes with flashing roms). If you know any other way also.

I already viewed this and tried.
I have a keystr file, whats missing is the nv_data.bin and other such files which hold the imei info.
You can rewrite you imei (if you have it on the back of your phone or in phone documents) with these tools (software & hardware) http://goo.gl/54mtk. Here's a guide for it http://goo.gl/wtW29.
Also you could try this alternative http://goo.gl/ghcJn ..
None of that is free..
And finally you could try helping the op of this thread to add compatibility for skyrocket, this would be free.

I have no idea what you are talking about, but below may be a method for getting into USB Diag mode.
Just to be clear: I have not read this thread as it is for Verizon Galaxy S3. If you try that on our phone you will do that on your own risk.
I simply suggested you got in touch with amoamare and see if he can help you or add support for our phone in his app.
Some phones must be put into USB Diagnostics mode to do the
unlocking. On your phone, enter *#9090#. Does a menu open? If yes,
select - [1] Uart_null_usb_diag (usually the first option). Depending
on your phone model, this may be called differently. Once selected,
watch for words like “USB Diag” and select such an option. If entering
*#9090# doesn’t do anything, try *#7284# and see whether you can
find anything similar to - [1] Uart_null_usb_diag. If there is no such
thing, ignore this entire step!

Hi, I'm at a road block here... I've googled just about everything you can think of, tried just about everything you can think of, nothing is working. : /
I have a Samsung galaxy S2 ( SGH-i757m, bell version ) that I have rooted, I have installed a custom rom( DexRom 3.0 ).
Issue is, I go into settings>about>status, I look down at IMEI section & for my IMEI number, I have " 0 " ( IMEI SV : 02 ), I've tried restoring the EFS folder, tried using HCtool ( says my phone isn't compatible ) I've also flashed another rom, even stock, nothing's working. It's frustrating because this phone doesn't have the typical nv_data.bin file or what ever people say to edit. Currently I am backing up the device with Qualcomm NV Tools, I've tried to hit the button " Write IMEI " ( and yes, I am using a legal, unique IMEI, the one that's on the back of the device under the battery ) & it acts like it did it okay, but then I go check the device.. Still the same thing, IMEI:0 IMEI SV: 02. I've done a reboot, even let it sit for a couple hours. I also tried using a USB UART device ( I used my teensy 2 - arduino basically ) to help aid my issues, nada. But then here's the weird thing, I can still text... If someone could PM me & detail what the issue is, or how the thing is laid out ( as in, what file(s) contain IMEI info ) anything would be appreciated! thanks.
Has anyone been able to solve this problem? I am having the same issue with my phone (SGH-I757M, Bell). The IMEI was there yesterday and now the phone only shows 0 for the IMEI and 01 for IMEI SV (which should be 02). I have yet to try anything to fix the problem (backing up data first).

I haven't been able to fix this issue, but I did manage to be able to use it as a regular cell phone... I called my service provider & explained that my phone has no IMEI number & I can't make calls, but I can text... so what ever they did, fixed it. I can now make calls, receive calls, ect. I gotta find a stable baseband rom tho, some texts just don't send & stuff...
I know that there is a way to fix the IMEI, but you need a 300$ piece of stupid hardware... Z3Xbox, witch isn't really worth 300 $ if you're only going to use it once... I hope someone could reverse engineer the z3xbox & come up with a diy solution, maybe with an arduino board or something...
Anyways, wish you luck!
Edit: I still have no IMEI/SV number, but calling works, so I quit playing with it, made backups of everything & called it a day.

I was able to use all functions of my phone without the IMEI... I managed to get the IMEI back by flashing the stock Android 4.1.2 ROM from sammobile.com
I'm not sure if flashing another version would do the same...

I've tried several roms, oh tho I haven't tried 4.1.2 tho. Could you provide me a link to the firmware that worked for you? I'd love to have this thing working again.
* Update * It seems that rogers now wont allow my phone to connect, I try to connect & it says " Could not connect. Try later " So I have a feeling they black listed it or something... I have my sim in a galaxy infuse & it works fine... So I don't know.
thanks

Sorry for the double post, But could you possibly send me a copy of your whole EFS folder? In like a personal message, I promise I will not use your IMEI. I'd figure out how to put mine into it. thanks in advance.
First of all I wanted to let you know that I've tried everything in my power before I post my problem here. I found it very difficult to understand some solutions that are discussed here. But after 3 days I have decided to try it here.
I just bought a LG P920 for my son (can't afford a new phone now) and he got a present. A car you can control with your phone, but it didn't work because I thought the android version wasn't sufficient enough so I flashed a custom rom:
CyanogenMod -version Android 4.1.2
10-20121227-NIGHTLY-p920
After several other roms, and I tried a lot, I still have no baseband. It says: unknown
Which rom can I flash to get it back? Or is there an easy way to get the baseband? I saw some tutorials but I found them very hard to do. I really hope somebody has a solution for my son and me. Excuse my english, I'm from Holland
You may simply need to set up your APN; my tutorial covers that, and also flashing baseband. I have not tried CM so I am not sure if there are any issues there, however.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2195753
Thank you very much for your response and I've looked at your tutorial but I have really no idea what I'm supposed to do. Rooting and flashing a custom rom is easy but this is something out-of-my-league.
Wich flash tool do I have to use for flashing a baseband? How does this go? I'm really sorry about this but this is completely new for me.

I post it twice accidentally ...:silly:
You would set up pc drivers as in part 1. Then use Flash Tool to flash a baseband (.fls file). There are a few included in the download files, or there is a link there to other basebands for different countries. You do not need to install ICS or the custom ROM if you do nit want.
You may not need to do all that; you just might need to set up the APN for your particular network and SIM if you have not tried that already.

Now I figured out how to use the SmartFlash Tool and as soon as I want to start the flash process the app crashes
You have to use the program in XP mode and run it as admin.

You're right and it worked. It all went well and I got the complete green line at the end, so I thought this is it. I'm back to stock!
But now it says when I check
Android-version:
2.3.5
Baseband-version:
L6260_MODEM_SIC_01.1042.00
Kernel=-version:
2.6.35.7+
and still no possibility to make a call ... it still says: No service
Did you set up your APN?

How do I do that? I also checked my imei number and there's isn't one. So that was the issue all the time. I've searched a way to retrieve it and tried it. But I got stuck at point 6. Got this from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1734330
Restoring IMEI
1. Connect phone by USB
2. Activate USB debug mode
3. Enter 3845#*920# in dialer if that doesn’t work try 3845#*925#
4. Select Port Settings -> Select CP Image Download
5. A new device should appear at let it install
6. Open Tutty and select serial protocol. Click on open
7. Type AT if response is not OK, change port number (it is possible that when typing you don’t see any letters)
8. Type at%imei, it should display a dummy IMEI
9. Type at%imei=x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x,x where x,x,x... is your orginal IMEI number (found under the battery of your phone). It should response IMEI WRITE OK
10. Reboot phone
I have never lost IMEI so dunno there. APN is in system settings, more...
