I had actually never heard of SlickWraps until I saw they were asking for product reviewers. I went ahead like the early adopter that I am and just went ahead and purchased it. As a first time customer, there was a hiccup in the shipping but @slickwraps Weston made sure my order was shipped out and I received it today.
Again nothing to really explain about the installation, it's all on their website. I want to discuss the feel of the wrap and the design of each cut out and the precision of measurements. The texture of the wrap really does feel like carbon fiber and has actual texture, I scrape my nail over it and over each facet it makes a noise to show it has individual texture, awesome.
The cut outs were perfect and it was easy to re-apply once I realized i had either shifted too much or too little (when applying the sides). If you wrap it perfectly using the holes and sensors as a starting guide, the side wraps perfectly.
The back was easy, start with the camera cut-out, and press down on a couple areas to hold it in place and I used a blow dryer for the edges so it easily formed to shape.
I really liked how the sides still show slight chrome all around, it helps to show the original S5 design, and makes the design language as a whole more holistic.
Enough talking, you guys already know what wraps are, check out the attachment pictures and also my full gallery link!

Does the vinyl on the screen interfere with edge-swipe actions? I have had issues in the past with cases that come to close to the edge of the screen to reliably perform edge swipe nav (hamburger nav apps, action launcher, etc) and this seems like the worst case scenario for that.

it doesn't because it only covers the edge where there is a bit of bezel. the cut out is perfect so you can view only the screen. I do not think the swipe actions can be detected on the side bezels.
with that said, i actually took the front off because it was collecting finger grease and dust on the corners and edges. it was kind of gross when i took it off (the vinyl came off w/o a problem and very clean btw), i swear there was a visible height of the dust and gunk that collected. Since I got the black S5, it looks really good and seamless with the carbon fiber theme and looks even better now i think.
Big Thanks!
Weston
Wrong thread!
Something to note with these sticker style wraps. They don't play nice with cases. Particularly around the edge. If you take the case on/off it tends to rub and eventually pull the sides off the phone. This happens with every phone but on the S5 the ridged edges mean it doesn't have as much surface to adhear to so gets pulled. Shame really as I put this kind of stuff on almost every phone I buy.

weird, yours came with slits on the back vinyl corners. my black carbon fiber did not. it holds well though with the blow dryer method.
Looks good!! By any chance to do you have pics of the black CF with just the front and back applied without the edge pieces?

Just got mine in the mail and applied it. Followed the instructions to the letter, and so far I still see streaks/residue behind the cover. The instructions say this will clear up within a few days so I won't pass judgement just yet. If the residue and streaks clear up like they say I would definitely recommend this. I will post back and update!
***Edit**
Forgot to add that as far as I can tell this cover has no effect at all on touch sensitivity.
You get the full skin or just the screen?
I just ordered mine using the get25 promo code to get 25% off. If it's anything like the Zagg skins the streaks will disappear.

The screen was somewhat straight forward and easy, the only complication I would see with installing it on the body is the corners not wanting to apply without some air bubbles.
Wish me luck. ... LOL hope it fits perfect with no bubbles imperfections piss me off

Mine should be here by Friday. Great job how long did it take?
Probably about 30 minutes. I did the screen in the bathroom with high steam from the shower to keep the dust down, and then did the rest in my kitchen. I did use my wifes hairdryer to aid in drying the smaller pieces on the top, bottom and sides. you have to be careful when doing the H shaped part across the back and sides. You adjust the right and completely move the left by accident. I will let everyone know if the micro-bubbles dissipate as advertised and will take additional photos in a couple days.
My screen has cleared up a little bit in the past few hours. Hoping it clears all the way up.
Nicely done slimm13. The micro bubbles will go away if they are anything like Zagg's IS.
It looks did a really great job putting it on. Curious though that the edges aren't fully covered...it leaves those little 't' shaped spaces. The Zagg seems too fully covers the rounded edges...
Thank you guys for the kind words, I think it is far from perfect but serviceable. I was surprised about the corners as well, thought it was odd. I had hoped that there would have been some extra material and I would have cut pieces to fit in said holes.

Those that cover the corners "well" are very easy to rub/peel off that corner as you just take it in and out of pocket. (I'd like to take a picture of my current phone to show you what I'm talking about.... it's ugly... but that gotta wait till my Nexus One arrives... ) Next time I'm getting these skins I'd look for the T-shaped ones with a hole at that pesky corner.
I used to have an iphone 4 and I had a nice clear case that gripped the sides of the case without overlapping the front. I would really like to have something like that for the Nexus 4. Anything that has a lip over the front tends to collect pocket dust like crazy and clear cases seem harder to find for android phones. I don't want anything that is silicon. I don't know if what I want is really possible, the iphone had that infamous metal ring that gave the case something to grip on without going over the front.
Yeah that's a tough one, I think most people actually like to have the overlapping on the front so the screen doesn't contact a surface if it's face down. When looking up cases they point that out too as one of the pro's of their case.
I'm sure more cases and options will come out for this phone, they were probably waiting to see the actual demand for this phone and it seems there is more demand for this phone then companies thought there would be.
I'm waiting for something like Spigen has for the iphone, it looks like a bumper with a clear part on the back. Not sure if they'll make that either, if not I'll stick to finding a good bumper.
I'm in the same boat. I was actually looking at one last night but now I can't find it!
What it did was overlapped only on the corners. So, the corners were protected and the face of the phone wouldn't touch when lying face-down, but you still had the ability to easily use gestures on the curved screen.
I believe this will do what you want http://www.rearthusa.com/google-nexus-4-ringke-slim-case they aren't clear, but they have the most restricted fit http://www.rearthusa.com/google-nexus-4-ringke-slim-case

That case would be so perfect for me if it had the back cut out to show the glass back design. Be a shame to cover it up.

It is a shame but most people with clear cases end up with yellowish tinted case after getting it dirty. Also, the rearth ringke cases are I believe still slippery, not much grip compared to diztronics or other brands.

The nillkin case is just beautiful and just cost 10 dollars
I don't know I think I may just go caseless and rely on the scratch resistance of gorilla glass. I am not worried about drops I can prevent that, it just seems silly to put a case on to protect the pretty back when it obscures the pretty back. Kind of like keeping a fancy watch in a safe so you don't scratch it.

I dont know why someone didn't staelrt a thread on here about the amazing (but expensive) case. its an aluminium case with a real carbon fibre back and in my eyes it amazing.
ill do a full review on tuesday once I recieve mine
Updated 28th of may 2013
So I've just received my casemate in the post and first impressions was that the box was beautiful

Just upon opening the box i realised how beautiful it actually is.
The carbon fibre on the back is 100% real carbon fibre.
The black plastic around the sides is a real bad fingerprint magnet. As you can see
And at the bottom of the back piece is a brushed aluminium plate with the casemate logo and bevelled edges around the back speaker but just as alot of cases the case is muffled the sound coming from the speaker when its on a flat surface but its not as bad as other cases I reviewed
What i only found out upon receiving the case that its a two piece case which is a big plus for me and it looks like theres enough of a gap between the screen and case to allow a glass screen protector.
The silver plastic buttons on the upper part of the case are really easy to press
The inside of the back piece is a nice rubbery feeling which would provide a small shock resistant and just protects the phone.
Over all the phone fits extremely well and that i would recommend everyone to get it. The only bad thing is that its a slippy case but that shouldn't stop you from buying it.
Heres more pictures of the phone in the case
That's looks not bad! Is it bulky?
I'm thinking of getting a d30 case though. Apparently it offers exceptional impact protection while maintaining a slim form factor.

Look at the photo above the line beginning with "Over all the phone fits...." showing the inside of the case.
They misspelled "pending" on the inside of the case.
That's a nice case indeed but.. how did they miss that?
Spell-check is also panding.
Nice case. How difficult do you think it would be to remove the logo from the brushed aluminum? And please let us know your results with the glass screen protector (and what one you used).

with the beveled edges around the speaker, does it keep the sound from being muffled when the phone is placed flat on its back? a lot of cases have been having this problem.

I love skins for my devices. It gives them a custom look while preventing scratches. That is why I jumped at the chance to receive a free EXO skin of my choice. They have quite a variety to choose from on their site. For me, it always comes down the the wood designs, this time I chose the wood grain bubinga. The skin itself also has a slight texture with the wood grain that is a wonderful added touch that makes it feel more true to life. I love dark wood looks, as I currently have a skinomi wood grain skin on my Asus Transformer Prime tablet and keyboard dock.
This is the first skin that I have ever applied with a hot air dryer, and it certainly helps form the skin to the back cover. However, the skin isn't perfect in it's coverage of the back. I lined up the camera, flash, and speaker holes perfectly. What was left was slightly off for the outer edge of the skin. The right side was too close to the edge, while there was still some white showing on the left side. It's not too bad since its barely a millimeter off, but it is definitely something that I noticed.
The rest of the skin went on smoothly, but I was surprised to notice that mine did not come with the home button piece. I most likely wouldn't have kept the piece on anyway depending on if it caused issues with the fingerprint scanner since I use it daily. The sides have stayed in place pretty well over the past few days without any movement or peeling of the edges. Another thing that is slightly off is the top edge of the screen cover. I have the speaker, camera, and sensors aligned properly, but the notification LED cutout is a little lower than where the light is.
The skin itself isn't too thick, but it does make swiping the fingerprint sensor a tiny bit more difficult. I was even able to put a case back on over the skin, albeit with a little difficulty. Overall, I am quite satisfied with the skin, and look forward to more skin choices from EXO skins in the future. Here's hoping this review fixes the slight errors on the back, as well as possibly introducing more wood grain choices.

That's what I would like to know since I wouldn't be able to get a case that works with the wireless back.
Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
I had one similar (Skinomi) and it doesn't quite fit the wireless back.
The sides are fine but it has trouble covering the corners, they "scrunch" so it's not an even/smooth fit. If you cut slits you maybe able to get it to fit.
I should add that because the sides are ridged and not smooth the side stickers have trouble staying in place if rubbed too much. Particularly around the top/bottom.
-Airax
thanks for the info... i guess i wont be buying it... gosh i hate how wireless charging backcover doesnt have any case >.>
Wow I would probably not have the patience to apply it so gingerly with hair dryers and it would be skewed!
Thanks for the review.
Everyone has their own taste. But yuck.
Reminds me of Walmart furniture with plastic stickon woodgrain.
Figured I'd make a new thread instead so it's a bit more easy to search for than digging through the megathread.
Ordered this on eBay on Oct. 28 and received it on Nov. 2 so that was crazy fast for shipping from China to the SF Bay Area. Didn't expect this to arrive until the end of the month at the earliest.

Boring words:
Case's color is pretty close to the Graphite back. Similar to the OnePlus One from what I remember. VERY grippy feel with a rough-ish texture. Almost like something that has been Plastidipped.
Lip above the screen is about 1-1.5mm; no more than that. All ports are open and laser autofocus is free to beam away. Buttons are slightly recessed below the cutouts, but this is actually a benefit for me as I kept accidentally pressing the power button any time I fumbled around with the phone. I really enjoy the large cutout for the fingerprint reader as I use the sides of my finger for it to feel more natural instead of poking at it. Larger cutout helps me just rest my finger over the sensor instead of having to poke my finger through a tighter cutout. For someone who said "nothing larger than my Nexus 5, please", this case doesn't make the 6P any more hard to handle than it already is; it's very minimal.
Any problems with it getting caught on your pockets when taking it out or storing it?

Very nice setup you got there! I Will order this case as well because it's similar to the Pelosi case for the OPO. Thanks a lot Dude! Now what color....
Thank you for posting pictures and doing a review of the case. I just ordered this case on eBay using my eBay bucks. Basically got the case and a tempered glass for free on eBay
I've always loved the texture of these cases. It reminds me of the oneplus sandstone.
I'm curious though, being that the texture on the inside of the screen is "rough", do you guys think it will scratch the phone over time? Especially taking it on and off?
Thanks for the review. Does the lettering feel like it could be peeled off? I prefer a clean look without the branding.

The inside is a little bit more smooth than the outside is. Still textured, though... I'll most likely switch to the Spigen Thin Fit once that arrives and this will just be a back up. I prefer Spigen's soft touch coating.

It's printed on so I don't think it'll be coming off any time soon.
The top and bottom is not protected though if it falls.
I had a similar IMAK case for my Nexus 4. Held up really well until it melted in the hot hot Australian sun (forgot it in a compartment on top of the car's dashboard). I certainly don't blame them for that.
The texture for these things is very unique. If this is the type of protection you are looking for, I highly recommend this.

I'm not too worried. Dropped my Nexus 5 on concrete once with the Spigen Ultra Fit that has an open top. The way these are designed, the top and bottom of the device doesn't make contact with the surface due to the lip around the top of the corners. It's just enough to keep it off the ground if it were to fall that way.
Does the case scuff your phone at all when taking it off / putting it on? I had a similar case for my N5 back around launch and removing the case and putting it back on eventually scuffed the soft touch plastic. I'm worried it might mark up my 6P's chamfered edges or that tiny plastic bezel on the outside of the glass.
