Only the Taiwanese version has the ariel, and based on what I've read on forums, it seems to be quite difficult to get that version outside of Taiwan.
But yeah, if you buy the D838 you definitely won't get an ariel!

Hey members,
Good News for those waiting to get Update. G Pro just got first Update with KitKat as GPro2. Problem is We have to buy this update for around 600$ again.
:highfive: for one who will buy this update from LG.
Anyway News here:
LG spilled the beans on the announcement and the name of the successor of the LG Optimus G Pro. The upcoming phablet will go official in February (MWC in Barcelona is likely) as the LG G Pro 2.
Unsurprisingly, LG removed the ‘Optimus’ moniker from the name of the yet to be seen handset. Like the latest batch of high-end smartphones from the Korean manufacturer, the device will launch as simply a member of the 'G' lineup.
In case revealing only the name of an upcoming device appears to be an odd move by LG, we must point that this isn’t the first time the company pulls such a trick. Last year, the manufactuer revealed the name of its current flagship, the LG G2 in a similar fashion.
Source: http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_g_pro_2_announcement_and_name_get_confirmed-news-7666.php
New Images of leaked pics:
We have great devs! someone will figure out how to port this over to our phone after they look over all the specs and such
Great news, however LG has a history of not supporting their phones for very long, however if it has Dev support and is what the G2 was to the S4 then I might have to get it regardless
Damn you beat me to it @NaveenKumarXDA I just read about this over at Engadget. Seems like they "promise" to release it next month but what I want to know is how the future of that phone will look on Us carriers hopefully it isn't single carrier variant.

I saw from a news feed somewhere that this is a 5.9" screened device. Too big for my taste. 5.5" is my limit, and our LG OGP fits the bill.

I have the Korean version in the UK and it works fine.
You can delete all the Korean apps that come pre installed so that's good.
There are a few tweaks I made myself to make the phone better such as removing the Korean roaming clock from the lockscreen etc... just to make the phone a bit more English friendly. You do need root for that which is easy enough to do.
The phone will work on EE and Three's 4G networks only. It won't work on O2 or Vodafone 4G but will work on every network 3G and 2G fine.

What's the number of your Korean version? Is it a D838 (the "International" version, I was told) or something else?
Am a bit concerned as have ordered a D838 and I'm on O2...
And does your G Pro 2 have the TV aerial built in??? I've seen some models which do...

The Korean Version has the model number F350.
The Asian version (Hong Kong) has the model number D838 and was released after the Korean version.
Unfortunately the D838 only supports 1800Mhz and 2600Mhz and not the 800Mhz that O2 use for 4G. So the phone will work fine on 3G and 2G but it will not work on 4G at all.
You'll probably want to wait for the European model to launch if you want to use O2. Otherwise only EE and Three will work with both the D838 and F350 on 4G in the UK.
And yes, the Korean version (F350) is the one with the aerial. The Asian version does not have an aerial and is the same look as the European/American variants will be.

I got it today and all I can say is that this is too amazing. perfect grip, perfect apps. just my type of device.
Just wondering is there are any Aussie users of the G Pro 2?
Obviously its not available here, and the grey imports only work on the Optus network
They are so cheap at the moment - wondering if I should just get it
It's a great phone, I brought mine off becextech. I've got my 32gb black model running pretty well on Telstra. The problem is if you wanna do customisation (you will want to with this phone) you can't due to all its restrictions. I think you should do a little more searching around because it's not perfect.
Thabks for the heads up.. Do you regret getting it?

Yeah sorta, the 3G/hspa bands that Telstra uses in rural areas arent supported on the G Pro 2, or at least my D838 model.

Good to know - Im still unsure , as I would only ever use it on Optus , which works perfect
Maybe try sell yours on gumtree and go for the G3?

Not necessarily, a great deal of the grey sellers that sell the Chinese version online pre-load CM onto the device before sale. The one true way to tell the difference is this: the international version has Cyanogen branding on the back cover, the Chinese version does not.

The newest Phones shipped by OnePlus don't have the Cyanogen Logo either.
If I have a white 64gb Version, it is bound to be a Chinese one right?
Are there any disadvantages between the chinese version and the international one?

The chinese version does not support US AT&T LTE (Band 4 & 17 I believe?) due to a hardware difference. I personally ordered a 1+ from Amazon that ended up being the chinese version vs the international, and was able to activate the bands necessary for AT&T LTE through software, but it did not connect to them due to the hardware difference. Other than that, they are practically the same device!

I don't even have lte where I live and I don't plan on getting it so it doesn't matter so much for me.
Thanks for the info!
I'm pretty happy with my chinese one then, as I really wanted both 64gb and white, and it was only 250€ so it's even a little cheaper. I didn't buy from amazon though but a small local store.
Glad I could help! Enjoy it! I can't wait to get mine back. Leaps and bounds above the Note Edge I have now.

Take that with a grain of salt. I know people who have bought one recently and it still shows the Cyanogen branding on the rear cover. Perhaps it was an Indian version in that image, those units are "international" but they can't have the logo for legal reasons. All other international units still have the branding afaik.

Can anyone confirm the Moto X Play sold in Mexico is the dual sim version? It's unbelievable how confusing Motorola's model # and specification pages are.

The mexico model should be good to go here in the states and be unlocked. I would also be interesting in a 32gb model. If someone has an address in mexico we can ship to and then ship it back to use here...thats all we would need

Is that because you have one in hand or just from the motorola.mx website? I chatted with the motorola latin america support and they said at the moment only the single sim version is available. If you go through motomaker it makes no mention of dual sim, nor in the any of the description content. You only see dual nanoSIM in the specs.

The experience with T-Mobile was really good, this phone has AWS band for T-Mobile 3G and all the bands in LTE for T-Mobile and AT&T, and even some Chinese LTE bands, and I guess this phone is really good for a backup phone, I still love my Nexus 6, but this phone holds his ground pretty good.

It works, the LTE speeds are slightly lower then my v35 but still fast enough for HD streaming 20-40 mbps (in a city). Just got a security and software update as well from LG. No Volte, however.
The service menu code ##DATA# (or #Data##) may be able to tweak some settings.
