Skyrocket MMS not working with AT&T GoPhone sim - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

I've searched the forum and googlez but each APN I've tried does not allow MMS to receive. The candy kat 4.4.2 rom has a bunch of apns already entered. Tried each one. I can send MMS but cannot receive any. Is there anyone else using Gophone sim with working MMS?? What APN do you use?

I had this same issue, usually if data works your apn is fine. Try using a different app than what comes stock. I dl'd chompsms and I could receive mms again. Gosms is a nice alternative also.

[Q] Not able to recieve mms

First off, I am running Melvin's stock rom and the nociq fix posted in the development section.
Everything works flawlessly, I get good data speeds, and I can receive mms, but I am not able to send them. Could either Melvin's rom or the nociq fix have broken this?
I have tried all the APNs I could find in the Skyrocket forum, and with all of them I have the same problem. I'm not currently in an LTE area (Minneapolis, so hopefully soon...) but all of the APN settings I enter give me about the same data speeds and again none of them will recieve mms, however I am able to send them just fine.
Any insight into this would be wonderful! I use mms all the time.

Yes I did, and I just tried it again. Same thing-- using those APN settings, the internet works and sending mms works, but not receiving.
I really don't want to reflash the rom but I am about to...

[Q] apns-config.xml

I have a problem. And it seems a pretty widespread problem. Got no replies on other threas so i've started a new one. Any 4.0+ ROM. Stock, custom, MIUI or otherwise. mms doesn't work. I'm using i9023. I'm with Crazy John's network in Australia. A relatively obscure networkthat piggybacks the Vodafone au network. I've done some research and think I may be on to something. Is it possible that if your apns aren't in the apns.config.xml or not correctly configured in that .xml then your mms won't work. I understand that with gb it didn't matter, you just input them manually. But is this true with ics or do they HAVE TO be in there? If so, how do we get this to the devs so they can update their config? I would have asked the dev of my favourite ROM, but xda won't let me post in the dev section. I just find it suspicious that users from the same list of networks are repeatedly reporting this issue with all ICS roms. The only other possible reason i can think of is that it has something to do with all rhese roms being ported to gsm from 4g roms. But that doesn't explain why MIUI V4 doesn't work. Some feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.
Does your operator offer some kind of APN configurations to be sent via SMS ? This could help, because it might fix something on their side also.
How do u mean 'fix something on their side'? I enter my apns manually. I've called them and they just try to help me set it up over the phone or send me to their website. I know the apns off by heart, but i've also tried merging the into 1 apn, and various other configurations of all of their apns. I've tried changing user agent. Nothing. I bought the phone from Vodafone(unlocked) so the default apns are theirs(which are in the apns-config.xml by the way) but if I enter apns for Crazy Johns only internet works. MMS works flawlessly on any GB rom but not at all on ANY ics rom except GalnetMIUI ICS which is actually still GB with a few ics tweaks.

Have you tried to refresh your SMSC (do NOT use Update)? Dial *#*#4636#*#* | Phone Information, scroll down and hit 'refresh' for SMSC.

Yes I have. SMS works fine, but can't send or receive pictures at all. Just gets stuck at 'sending'. And can't download when receiving.

Um; I had this mms problem as well on mobilicity 4.0.3
when I updated to 4.0.4 ICS i heard mms was fixed. but it wasn't for mine; so i did a little research and someone suggested to integrate both the 3g APN with the MMS APN and it solved my mms problem:
I'm on mobilicity in Canada
try using my settings as a template for your network apn
Name: MOWAP
APN: wap.davewireless.com
Proxy: 10.100.3.4
Port: 8080
MMSC: [http]://mms[dot]mobilicity[dot]net <- couldn't post external links
MMS proxy: 10.100.3.4
MMS port: 8080
MCC: 302
MNC: 320
APN type (important): default,supl,mms
APN protocol: IPv4
all in a single apn; save it and select it
Yeah, I've tried this. A hundred different ways. Still doesn't work. Thanx anyway. Funny thing is, my network sells the galaxy nexus & they don't seem to have any probs using the 2 apns that I used on gingerbread.

Haha... I tried one more time and got it working. Thanks heaps for the template. My apn had .net at the end. Changed it to .wap and good to go. Cheers

Turns out this was kernel related in my case. Found that most custom kernels won't let me do mms for some reason. After trying kalim's cm9 kernel & finding that mms works using my normal apn setup, I went and tested them all. So far, matr1x 19.5 is giving me the best result. Happy.
....memoirs of a flash addict.
I had this problem as well and I'm also on Mobilicity in Canada.
My mms was broken in stock 4.0.3, fixed in 4.0.4 and then broken again when I switched to my first custom rom CyberGr. It was a great rom but one of the reasons I switched was my frustration at not being able to get mms working.
I screwed around with apn settings and tried 3 different kernels(including matr1x) and a bunch of other stuff that I've probably forgotten about, but no dice.
Someone suggested cm9 and that's what I'm on now. Mms and everything else work like a charm.
The source of this problem is still a bit of a mystery it seems to me because solutions that worked for some didn't work for others
Weird.

[Q] Cant send mms

Which CM10-build? An official nightly and which one, or one of the unofficial ones?
Working fine for me on cm-10-20120915-NIGHTLY-ville.zip (official) and EU radio 1.06s, I'm not on TMOUS though so cant help you with your APN settings but they're likely to blame. On 3 Sweden I have to populate the main APN "3 SE" with the MMS-related stuff from the "3 SE MMS" APN. (MMSC, MMS proxy, MMS Port).

[Q] Is there a ROM (stock/beta/or other) that has sorta functional MMS for TMobile?

I have tried other apps like Textra, etc, but none of them can handle MMS properly. If I am on WiFi, MMS will never download or send. If I turn off WiFi, I have about a 50% success rate and they usually end up coming in hours later. I have tried different ROMs, different APN settings, different apps. It is a shame that T-Mobile sells this phone with pathetic MMS capabilities on their network. I understand it works fine with other networks, but T-Mobile is atrocious.
So, is there anyone out there using this phone T-Mobile who doesn't want to throw their phone in the ocean when dealing with MMS? I'd be interested to know your setup.
Thanks for your help?
not a single issue with sms or mms here, on tmobile in nyc. do you have the correct apn? or do you have it entered correctly? im using the fast.tmobile.com apn.
Same here no problems with native messaging app and textra
No problem with stock AOSP MMS or Hangouts or 8SMS. I did have trouble with another third party client but I don't remember what it was, think maybe Textra the same one you used.
No problems with MMS although I will admit I had some problems with MMS but that was the app's fault. I had to manually put the MMS because the auto detection wasn't working just yet. I'm using chompSMS. Textra SMS worked fine as well.
Ensure you have the right APN. Also the T-Mobile APN is fast.t-mobile.com the - matters.
No issues with Purity rom and MMS...
Go to Settings>Wireless&Networks>More>Mobile Network>Access Point Names and select T-Mobile. If there isn't one then add one with the name T-Mobile and the address as fast.t-mobile.com should fix your MMS issues

Which APN?
Are you on Android L? Sounds like the same issues I had. I tried all the APN tricks and it still wouldn't work. I would get them occasionally when off Wifi. On stock 4.4.4 I don't normally have issues with MMS.

Can't send mms on CM12.1

I'm not sure when exactly I lost the ability to send mms through the default messaging app but it definitely works on 5.0.2 and definitely doesn't work on at least 4 different CM12.1 roms, all very cleanly flashed. It works through textra and chomp though, so it's not an apn issue. No one else seems to be complaining however...maybe most people don't use the pre-installed messaging app? I don't know, but I wish I knew why it stopped working and how to fix it.

Hey Guys -- I'm glad I found this thread for, I too, have had MMS issues since upgrading to 12. When I upgraded, it set my default to Messenger which was fine. However, I noticed I couldn't send MMS through Messenger. I found the thread for correct AT&T APN for MMS. I checked and configured my APN to the correct settings. However, still no MMS sent capability. So I switched back to the standard Hangouts and no problem.
However, I have to think I can't be "stuck" on using Hangouts for MMS, right???
Thanks.
Its apparently an issue that Google has, the app doesn't know what APN to use. Hangouts or another SMS should work fine.

Textra works great.
Hastily spouted for your befuddlement
I'm running CM12 (not .1 though) on my LG G3 (D850). I couldn't get Messenger MMS working until I deleted all the APN's that I didn't need. Only kept the ATT LTE one and now MMS works just fine. YMMV, but worth a shot.
I had issues with the APN after a CM12S update. If you are rooted, rename /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/telephony.db and data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/shared_prefs/preferred-apn1.xml to have a .bak extension (or delete them outright) and reboot. The system will rebuild them and you should get your telephony database and preferred APN restored. If you're not rooted, you don't need to, but you can rename the file via ADB.

This is the bug log for Cyanogen and they just escalated the issue to critical.
Similar problem but slightly different here.
When I attempt to send mms (using messaging, messenger, hangouts or textra)
It causes device to drop data connection until I turn cell data off and on again.
If I do not send any mms internet works fine on 3g, H+ and LTE (4g)
I have removed all but the optus mms apn, updated the APN to match optus APN listing....
(Primary proxy and authentication had to be changed)
Still no progress. Anyone able to shed some light on where I going wrong?

No problem here. I use Hangouts though
tried this method, did not work. I had to go back in after and pick my preferred APN to get data to work again.
