RCK not working - Asus Transformer TF700

Hi,
I was using Phil recovery before and I tried to flash TWRP.
For some reason, after I have flashed TWRP, I cannot get into RCK again and the machine will freeze (the one with 4 icons)
How can I reinstall recovery? It will be good to get it through irdin as I don't know how to fastboot. Can I use erminal emulator to install it again?
I have installed goomanager and when I tried to boot the device into bootloader, it will just freeze on the ASUS screen
Thank you

If you have 4 icons you are on the wrong bootloader. Tread carefully as you are <--> this close to hard bricking your device now. DO NOT WIPE IT - if you do you've lost it.
You should flash the latest asus stock rom to get your bootloader updated but you will have to do that over fastboot from a pc now...... Instructions are in general I think.

[Q] [i9023] Blank/Black screen in recovery

Hey everyone,
Basically I was trying to flash a new ROM onto an old Nexus S of mine and when I tried to boot into recovery there was just a black screen. I pressed the power button and a single line saying "Clockwork mod Recovery" and the version number popped up. I assumed that the recovery must've been corrupted so I erased it and installed the latest version using fastboot which seemed to work fine.
Now whenever I try to boot into recovery I just get a blank screen with nothing else. I've tried using other recovery images such as twrp but the same problem happened, I just get the background wallpaper/image and nothing else.
I searched the forums and apparently people were having this issue earlier on when the i9023 was first released but now most custom recoveries are supposed to work with both i9020 and i9023.
Also the touch buttons light up and vibrate whenever I touch them when I'm in recovery mode.
Any help to this problem would be greatly appreciated as atm I have an old ROM which is buggy as hell and I need to get rid of it.
Cheers!
I had the same Issue. If you can boot into the rom, you can try to download the rommanager-app and install the recovery from there.
Hey I tried that already that and instead of booting into recovery it just went into the bootloader and said "No Recovery or Bootloader found".
Any other ideas?
Did you clicked the first point in rommanager? Install recovery, or you only hit the second button reboot into recovery?

Hey
I have the i9023 and I install rom manager. install CWM and if I reboot into recovery it works and I get in to CWM recovery.. but after reboot into os.. if I go into Rom manager and reboot to recovery it dont work? I just get the android figur and a "!".. then I just can Power + vol up and I'm in bootloader recovery..
Do I have to install CWM every time i want to use it? and can't I access CWM on boot op ?
sorry for my bad English
Normaly you have to flash the recovery only once.
Try to flash the newer clockwork-recovery with fastboot.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=988686
Alfiedk: You need to get rid of this file:
/system/etc/install-recovery.sh
As it re-installs the stock recovery every boot.
I think you can download any custom ROM for your phone, and flash it in CWM recovery, this will also solve the problem
Edit: Did you unlock the phone? Have you tried fastboot oem unlock?

I havent unlock my phone, but I can get in to bootloader is it then necessary to unlock ?
I try to delete the /install-recovery.sh
Yes you need to unlock your bootloader, if you dont want to reflash it all the time.

now I just have to find a ROM to try..

Yes I made sure I selected install clockwork mod. Like I said the problem isn't the same when I do this, instead of a blank screen, when I boot into recovery it goes straight to fastboot and tells me that I don't have a recovery image installed at all...

what happens when you try to temporary boot into the recovery?
instead of "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img", try to "fastboot boot recovery.img"
Just look for an recovery.img that works temporary and then try to flash it permanently.
I'll try it and get back to you Xziped. If anyone else can think of any other ideas please just throw'em at me, I'm willing to try anything!
Yeah no help there either. It does the exact same thing temporarily booting into a recovery that it did when I actually had it installed on the phone :\.
I updated ROM manager to the latest and tried installing CWM with that but to no avail. It still says that there is no recovery installed when I do that.

Sorry but if not even the temporary recovery boots up, i dont know what else we can do
did you try some of the older recoverys? is your bootloader unlocked?
I haven't tried an older recovery and my bootloader is unlocked.
could it be a problem with my computer as opposed to the phone itself? As in my computer is messing up when trying to flash the recovery?
I've also noticed now that when I boot into fastboot mode the menu just locks up and doesn't respond to anything. Sometimes I have to pull the battery and other times it'll start responding after randomly pressing the power key a lot of times...
I'll try an older recovery next

[Q] [q]Cannot boot into recovery

I have a new Transformer TF101 that I rooted with vipermod.
I tried installing CWM using the recovery installer at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1346180, but it kept giving me parsing errors when I tried to run the apk. This happened when I copied over the su from bin to xbin.
So I tried Rom Manager to install the CWM there, but when I try to boot into it, it would get stuck saying Booting recovery kernel image.
If I try to use the Transformer Reboot to Recovery app, it gets stuck at the boot screen and goes into a semi reboot loop where If I try powering it off, it automatically powers on again and I had to do a data wipe to recover.
Does anyone have any idea how I can solve this? I really don't want to be stuck on Android 3.1 forever since it won't update to ICS with the stock update either now.
The android version is 3.1, Build is 8.4.4.11.
Thanks!
I know you already tried this installer, but check out this link.
You could also try using ADB to install the CWM recovery: link.
Read through there and follow the instructions around step 6 since you're already rooted.
If this doesn't work:
Does the ASUS recovery not work at all? As in holding vol-down while powering on then pressing vol-up to enter recovery? If it does you could try an update.zip to flash back to the old stock version that supports old razorclaw and use that to flash recovery reroot and pop a ROM on there (stock rooted ICS or otherwise) I'll give further help if you have to resort to this. Your firmware is to old for RecoveryInstaller to work. Manually update to latest ICS, root with ViperMod and use RecoveryInstaller for CWM.

First off I am sorry for posting this, however I DID use the search tool. I recently got a USA spec Wifi only Xoom. It came with 4.1.1 preinstalled. I have sucessfully unlocked the bootloader.
My problem is this. I cannot gain root or even get CWM installed. I have tried oneclick, i have tried cmd prompt. I have followed every guide I can find to a "T". Is there something missing, is it an issue with Jellybean being preinstalled?
Use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1468298 to get CWM installed (and when you reboot from fastboot flashing the recovery image, and this is very important, DO NOT LET IT FULLY REBOOT INTO THE OS. You have to get into recovery in the next boot or the OS will just overwrite it with the stock recovery and you will just have to go back into fastboot and flash the recovery again.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30464067&postcount=408 has the root once you get CWM installed.

Thanks for the reply, however this is one of the utilities I have tried,..
Here is a bit more info.
I am running windows 7 64bit if it makes a difference. Whenever I get the device into fastboot and try to flash anything, it just hangs at the original fastboot screen. I have let it sit there from 3 hours and eventually I have to reboot it. The Lord AIO Tool you linked just gives me and error message that the device is not a 2.2/2.3 device. If I were at home I would take a screenshot.
Could my bootloader be corrupt? The device still boots up and runs jellybean fine, but I am not loving the stock experience thus far...
Thanks again for the links!
Actually sounds like your drivers aren't right. I will look them up and link them when I get home
Try installing the driver from http://developer.motorola.com/tools/usb_drivers/, rebooting your pc, and try fastboot again. If that still doesn't work, then there may be something wrong with your pc setup OR your Xoom, not sure at that point.

Device stuck in bootloop?

Hi guys,
So this is my first post but I've been on XDA for a long time. I've been looking for an answer to this problem, and I haven't been successful in finding a post that regards to my situation...
Ok so I just got my tablet today. I upgraded to JB and then I unlocked it using the asus unlocker. I attempted to install TWRP, but when I use .blob files and attempt to load into recovery it didn't work. Anyway, I looked around and I installed CWM recovery instead.
I installed v5.5.0.4 following this guide:
http://theunlockr.com/2012/05/25/how-to-install-clockworkmod-recovery-on-asus-transformer-tf300t/
Now, I notice it's written back in may of 2012 aka before jelly bean... anyway so I installed this using fast boot, and booted into recovery and it worked. I believe I installed the ICS version of CWM. I tried to install Clean Rom v3.3 and I just get bootloops. I can still boot into fastboot and clockwork mod fine.
I tried to install v6.0.1.4 via this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1846554
But once again if I boot into recovery it just does nothing and reboots after a few seconds.
I re-installed v5.5.0.4 and I can wipe data/install everything just as I normally would, and I still have access to Fastboot. Can I get some help on how I can 1 install the correct CWM and 2 install a working rom? I don't think I bricked my device just yet since I can still flash in fastboot etc.
Thanks guys!
You cant't wipe data from bootloader menu, If you do that, you will get unrecoverable brick.
Sorry I believe I mislead you -> I wiped data from within CWM.
Anyway, I used this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1757077
I went back to stock and I think i'll stay there for a little while longer, this process made me nervous (I've rooted my thunderbolt, droid DNA, galaxy tab 2 7" and my friends phones) so anyway I believe I installed the wrong CWM and that caused errors trying to install a JB rom on a ICS CWM... If you have any insight let me know...

My suggestion is to flash the latest stock JB blob.
fastboot -i 0x0B05 flash system blob
fastboot -i 0x0B05 reboot
Once you get it sorted then flash the latest twrp for jb.
Now, when I try flashing blobs and I go to boot into RCK (I believe that's the term...) it just reboots the tablet instead of booting into recovery.
Android software is out of my element, if this was some C (somewhat similar to C) or Matlab I would better understand (I'm a senior Mechanical Engineer in college)
Edit:
Ah didn't see your post. I did what you recommended, and actually, while my device said it was on 4.1.1 JB, when I hold pwr/vol down I see a completely different menu now than last time, so I wonder if perhaps my OTA didn't correctly load everything from the firmware update hmm...

The same way you flashed cwm.
Windows? Start - in search type cmd - press enter
In the cmd window cd to the directory with fastboot.
Hook cable between tablet and usb port on computer.
On tablet hold power and volume down till you see the bootloader menu.
Down volume till you are at the usb symbol - then volume up.
This should put you into fastboot mode - use the commands above.
Wait till the first command completes before you give the second command.
[INDEX][04 Feb 2013]TF300T & TG-INDEX of Roms/Dev Guides/Kernels/Recoveries/etc. You will find the stock firmware here as well as most other needs.
You will have to unzip to get the blob which you should place in the directory with fastboot.
Thank you very much.
So after flashing the most resent blob, I successfully installed CWM recovery and successfully flashed a rom. I'm not sure what the issue was before. Thank you for the help! much appreciated.

Cant RCK tf300t

Hi, Im trying to install cm 11.0 on my tf 300t, im trying to install TWRP. The boot loader is unlocked and the device is rooted. I tried get into the fast boot menu but cant. I hit Power and vol down and get into a new screen with a row of 3 icons. I see the RCK and hover over the button for 5 sec... nothing happens. I waited for 5 min an nothing happened. I then tried to hit the volume up button but that fails and re boots me into the OS. Im running 4.2.1. Is there a Fix for this problem? Can I install TWRP another way? (maybe through ADB?) Thanks

The first time you install TWRP, it should be through ADB (fastboot). Flash it from your computer. After that, you will be able to flash ROMs from the recovery menu on the tablet.

Did you flash the 4.2 TWRP file? CWM has no version that woks with the 4.2 bootloader, except for the one in the flatline.img for NVFlash. If you flashed the regular TWRP recovery by mistake, follow the instructions here to recover, and start all over again. Remember to choose the correct recovery.

Ok, so i'm assuming I need the openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.0-tf300t-4.2.blob file. I DO have access to fastboot, can I just flash over the other Twrp recovery installed? Or do I have to follow the steps at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44244313&postcount=12 ? Thanks.
So I ended up flashing the blob file, and it did work. But when I tried installing CM11 I got an error and it shut down. Now I had a boot screen of the ASUS logo, flashing on/off every 20 sec. BUT I did make a backup, and was able to restore the system from that. Can anyone tell me what I have to wipe/do to install CM 11 on the tf300t? Or even cm 10.2 if its easier.
some (maybe) useful info
- I can boot into fastboot
- I can boot into the OS
- I do have a backup in case anything goes wrong
- I have twrp 2.6.3
