Today when checking for app updates I saw this:

I never downloaded an app liked this so I assumed it was pre-installed, but the lack of description and screenshots got me curious. Then I noticed the app is dated November 2013 but it didn't prompt me to update until today? I'm on the stock ND2 rom with no root. Has anybody seen this before or know what it is?
This is the app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sequent.controlpanel

Its a usefull app to test your touch screen say if u think uour sceen is bad in a certian spot u can test to see if it is by drawing a line from one point to the next if the line breaks u no its bad in that spot. Hope it helps

It's a sprint app. In your app list it should be listed as sprint touch
Well that was strange... the app is no longer in the market and there's no more update prompt. I didn't see "Sprint touch" anywhere in my apps either...

Sketchy business....

If you have a Titanium Backup installed, you can see a system app call Touch 0.9. I'm guessing this is what was updated.

I took the update a couple days ago,
Today, I titaniumed back to 0.9,
The update is now not showing available in my play store.
Hmmm...
Sent from my Rooted Sprint GS5 SM-G900P
i had that update too....but i never updated it and it went away on its own
this is exactly why i dont have the play store do automatic updates, and I do them manually

I have root access and no matter what I do I get errors.

I've tried a few methods including rom manager app and no luck, it just tries booting to stock recovery.

Also I am on 4.2.2. Just got phone today and spent a good 2 hours trying before asking for help! Hopefully it's a dumb mistake on my end and is an easy fix
Sent from my LG-D800 using Tapatalk
The furthest ive gotten is doing it manually in cmd and it says the image file is not a loki image and when it boots recovery its blank black screen. No one has any help for me? Should i try going back to stock recovery first? How do i do that?
Sent from my LG-D800 using Tapatalk
I used freegee from the play store to install twrp 2.6.3.3, works perfectly.

I tried. It got stuck and wouldnt finish.

So you'll never guess what happened. I woke up next to my phone and it was in cwm! But guess what?! My phone did the OTA on its own while I was asleep and bricked my 2 day old phone! Any help WITHOUT using Linux? I can't even get into recovery anymore because I tried to install another recovery zip to fix it and now there is no recovery

I'm making an appointment with geeksquad (phone came from best buy) and the service rep I talked to said they'd most likely replace it for me. If not, my computer asks me if I want to format the drive (repeatedly when I plug it in with every drive letter of the alphabet) what would happen if I did?
Sent from my P9070 using Tapatalk
Just restore back to stock. There is a lot of info on how to do this on this forum. You don't need the geek squad.

Tried to use the camera today while talking on the phone and it didn't let me, glad that's on that update I haven't gotten it though, just checked too.
Wow that's awesome news bc on the S4 you have to be rooted and modded to use camera on a call... awesome!

I never understood why they didn't allow it in the first place
Before, I had to be rooted and edit csc files

No update yet.
Agreed it appears Sprint is holding it, maybe till they fix the OpenSSL verison. According to Lookout's Heartbleed detector the release version of OpenSSL is 1.01e. Waiting patiently.

OpenSSL verison is 1.01e on the baseboard release of the phone. For more info on OpenSSL I suggest xda or Wikipedia.

They didn't update the OpenSSL verison but it doesn't matter since the OpenSSL server functions are disabled.

to the same state. If anyone could help, I'd be very thankful.
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. I found this where others have had the same problem, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2482061 Perhaps it will help you too.
Thanks I'll try and report back. ☺

This is for hangouts and chrome and things but the only problem I have is with play games and google now. Any chance you'd know what to do with that? ?

I'm sorry but I can't find anything else regarding your problem on XDA. Have you tried contacting Google regarding your issue. Click on the help when you get that pop up.
I actually kind of solved it. All you have to do is download hosts editor(you need root) and when you open it all you have to do is add the things found in here. Don't add the things that are already there.

I'm glad you got it resolved! I'll close this thread now.
Just received the T-Mobile Note 5 112.67 mb update. Updating now.
Yep. Just installed it. I noticed one change. They added a camera to the dialer.

Yeah!! What does the video call do? Not noticing anything else though.

No problem, note that I'd use the word "IF".
Is it video calling feature
I'm wondering if anyone has a link or text to the full change log. Another thread has a member saying it also resolved the wireless charging issue.

Same thing happened to me. I'm using package disabler, what I did was turn on again all the disabled apps, re-start the phone and listo. It should take it now.

I think the dialer looks hideous the way they placed the button there. Long pressing the 1 gets you voicemail so the voicemail button is redundant. Why couldn't they just place the icon where the voicemail icon is the way Sammy does it on the international versions?
Already a thread on Update please search before starting new threads.

The only thing I've noticed is that that amoled saturation controls have been brought back
same here, i'm on sprint. is it ok to flash being deodex?
Not sure. I haven't got too deep into flashing on this phone, as there's not a heck of a lot to flash. Typically no, you would need to be stock odex and stock recovery to take an ota
Sent from my 2PQ93 using Tapatalk
me too , i have this update 2 days ago , only changes i noticed :
* my hand free stopped working with my htc a9 and now its back again
*have new app called ""HTC VIP" , but its not working in my country
@k2buckley yeah, what a shame :/ i guess i'll have to wait and see what's new with this ota. it was a pain in the arse to get all things done yet i have some issues.
I'm getting that annoying notification about the system update. I'm just rooted with twrp. What would be the best way to update?

Have a look in Post TWRP Recovery #2
chapter 8,9 and 10.
NB: Download and save the ota in your sd card (you'll find it in /data/data/com.htc.updater). You could share it for XDA members...
Cheers
was about to ask the question where i could find it, thanks kho
any feedback abt this ota?
Only thing I've noticed is we have an option for the fingerprint scanner to wake the screen and use it as a home button.
it was already there. i think it's just some improvements and bug fixes.
