I had to search a long time last weekend to get PagePlus on my i535, but I was surprised I flashed it without my SIM installed.
Right now I can make calls and text without the SIM which I couldn't do with my LG Lucid on PagePlus (a 4G phone). I don't know if I went the hard way with flashing my Lucid to PagePlus by keeping the SIM installed, or if it's just the different phone.
For those that use PagePlus on your S3, do you have the SIM installed?
If it's the case that no one else has an S3 on PP without a SIM< I could make instructions on how to flash the S3 with the SIM.
Edit: I could be very noob by writing this, but oh well I'm curious.
Fellow noob here. I would *love* a guide (or even just some guidance/pointers to relevant threads/material) on flashing a Verizon S3 to PP. I'm on PP now with an old enV3 that is about ready to bite the dust and have been looking into upgrading, but the amount of information to parse and grok is just mind-boggling. I'm a programmer by profession so I have no trouble getting down and dirty -- just would really appreciate some help in the right direction. Even a brief overview of the entire flashing process would be helpful.
tl;dr - +1 for a guide!

Hey lol,
Flashing 4G phones to a 3G only network is tricky business and it's a pain in my experience. I can make a guide for sure sometime for the S3.
I would love to have a guide also! That would help me alot....:good: can you pm me the instructions?

I'll probably make a whole guide on who to do it and post it here.

Hello everyone!
My dad just got a Samsung Galaxy s2 LTE from Rogers and we're trying to get it to work with a different carrier. With that carrier we will be paying 40$ instead of the Rogers 80$ and he needs a phone (apperantly the radio/modem has to be reprogrammed for 1700). Can someone on here that has done this before with a Rogers phone help?
Can anyone help us with a step by step tutorial on how to install Android 4.0? I've read what I could, but the language is a little too technical for me and I don't understand everything. I don't want to accidentally break it.
My dad doesn't understand anything in electronics, but I think I with proper instruction I can do this (I'm 16).
Thanks!

Could someone help me on this thread, maybe translate what to do from this link? Good battery life is a must! but do I need to pay for an unlocking servicce or what? I am so lost. Thanks
First off there's no need to post another thread about this, the one you already created would have done fine(clutters up the forums ya know)
The thread you linked is telling you to flash a T-Mobile radio. You'll need to be carrier unlocked and rooted with cwm to accomplish this. The rest is all yours buddy.

Hey all. I'm new to the rooting world and did a search but couldn't quite make sense of it all. I am wanting to root my Verizon Galaxy S3. I found this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2046439&highlight=root+4+1+2
Just not sure if it's the right one to use. Can you help point me in the right direction to make sure I am doing it correctly? Thanks all.
Also, once rooted, is it possible to turn my phone into a mobile hotspot without racking up data usage on Verizon's network? Thanks again.

That guide is what I used. Just follow it carefully and you'll be fine.
Hey guys and gals! My att one x is on the way. I trying to find out as much as i can, before it arrives, for development and custom rom usage on the new device.
I have been out of the forums since i sold my att note.
I know this is alot to ask for some, but...
Can someone please lead me in the right direction for rooting, recovery (cwm if possible), and rom.
My goal is to use a net 10 sim and unlimited plan with this device. This might/would require a carrier unlock code? I can get the code if i need it but id really just appreciate someone summing up these basic questions with basic links or knowledge of the processes. I feel my contributions to our xda forums warrant these inquiries.
Im sorry that i cannot take the time to read the entire att one x forum and subs. Im literally in constant overtime at work. If someone here has the knowledge and guidance, I would appreciate every bit of help.
Summary : Information needed for...
Root
Recovery
Rom
Misc. Information i need to know, including cross-platform rom compatibility (i. e. One X and att One X)
I want to thank you guys in advance because I know at the heart of XDA lies a caring and gifted community of talented people who feel good helping others.
I promise to run with the information and do as much research and reading as possible when time permits. I have done so with all of my devices and being a creature of habit, well...
Thanks again and please dont expect an immediate response of gratitude, personalized to individual replies, until this weekend when i can get back on here and start the one x root process.
Check out this thread, it's got links to pretty much everything you'll need:

What he said. Also i suggest twrp over CWM. It is touch based, plus it works with plenty of roms. You do want to make sure you are on a version where your phone can be rooted.
Good luck.

Is this an AT&T phone, as I suspect from your post? If so, I hope you can still return it.
There is no root method for AT&T One XL phones on 3.18, and there may not be one for months if ever.

This is very true. If the device is from AT&T and has the 3.18 Jellybean firmware, its can't be rooted. Although its possible there is some old stock at some stores with older firmwares. Anything but 3.18 can be rooted. I think someone posted on here just a couple weeks ago about getting a new phone from an AT&T store that had 1.73 (the version from when the phone was released!).
OP should check the firmware version in Settings, and go from there.
I am a newb to smart phone hacking/rooting. I have done about 2 hours worth of reading. I have found several ways to do this, but a lot of the posts are dated from years ago.
I was just wondering if anyone could point me in the correct direction and help me out to rooting my HTC Inspire and Unlocking it.
I was going to try "aahk-11092012" to do it but now I am reading that the servers are down and you have to do it another way. Is this true? Could someone give me some information. Any help would be appreciated
AAHK is retired. Use the Easy Ace Root Tool. The Ace Think Tank thread linked in my signature for an up-to-date guide to everything for this phone.
