I'm on Clean ROM 8.1 which is a 4.3 TW rom. I'm wondering if I can make my pull-down toggles in the status bar look like the AOSP (from CM at least) ones? Anyone know a way to do this?
Thanks!
Bonus: It would be super awesome if there was a way to get the entire status bar and pull-down area to look like AOSP. Not sure if this is possible, maybe through some Xposed module? If anyone knows of anything that would be great!
I think the closest you're gonna get is is Team Bandit's Theme. It should be compatible with CleanROM however I would check first with the devs.
Unfortunately there's no real way to theme stock TW on the fly. You either have to wait for someone to release a theme or download a themeable ROM like Alliance. Even then it will never look 100% like AOSP.
edit: apparently xposed does have a theme engine. I'm not very familiar with xposed though so I can't give you information on that.

I've been searching for a while here, but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for.
I'm running Ruby and I love it, but I want my black status bar back. I tried flashing a few mods I found but they just leave the entire screen black (I'm guessing something crashed).
I see tons of stuff for Sense.. just nothing for my poor source built rom. Anyone know of a zip that works for them? I could try cyanogen, but I cant find just the black status bar mod.
CM has status bar tweaks so you can make it black without flashing anything.
It doesn't change the icons or anything, though. I don't know if that's what you're looking for.
As the title suggests.
Unfortunately, replacing the .PNG's in framework-res does nothing. Apparently there needs to be some modifications done to the XML's inside framework-res.
Love that semi-transparent look of the MIUI notification bar but I love my CM6 and I'm not willing to give up the ROM just for aesthetics so I'm wondering if this could be done.
I'm sure it CAN be done, there's so many excellent devs on this forum!
Thanks!
Also, if anyone can figure out how to port the top-bar battery found in the MIUI rom I'd love you. :>
I can't be the only one that likes the MIUI NB and wants it on CM6! Right?
I can get down with that. I use launcher pro though, so it most likely wouldn't work out anyways.
I second the Battery bar request. Its my favorite feature in MIUI.

I use LP too. Why wouldn't it work?
+1 I would like to port this over aswell.... Any ideas? I have searched all XML and havent come up with anything. maybe i have missed something.
i want my CM status/taskbar clear as well... LOL
been trying to do that forever.... i use ADW btw
I switched from myn's and now I can't live without a transparent taskbar, I would donate to get this.
Hey guys I just answered your requests.
Just finished up my latest theme for CM 6.1.2, which includes a semi-transparent status bar and a MIUI-ish battery icon. Link is in my sig. One thing to note: status bar transparency doesn't work with LauncherPro. LauncherPro "moves" your wallpaper down 38 pixels, which creates an opaque effect on the status bar. Lame, I know, but don't blame me since it's part of the LauncherPro code. lol. The status bar will be transparent with LP while in apps or the lock screen, but you'll have to use ADW if you want transparency on your home screen. Enjoy, guys.

ditto. i actually have a fully transparent status bar i can put in some themes but it only works with the stock android launcher. works with the stock gb launcher as well
as you probably know the transparent notification bar (used in Sense 4.0) is no longer there when you use a custom launcher / sense-less rom. i think it could be cool to get it back because it makes quite a difference in terms of looks. perhaps this thread might be helpful:

any help on how to get it going on One S the easy way or a flashable mod is appreciated.
I installed the last Nightly of CyanogenMod, and there was an issue with the nav bar and status bar. In Android 4.4.2. and all of the screenshots I've seen of CM on Nexus 5s, I've never seen an issue with someone not having the transparent status bar and nav bar. Is there a way I can fix this, or do I need to install the Snapshot instead? Thanks.
Also, to install any ROMs, I've only booted into a custom recovery. I've never completely installed a custom recovery, as I had some problems with it not letting me mount to USB-OTG. If someone knows how to fix this too, please help.

Regarding the status bar, I really have no idea, but I have some experience with CM-based roms on a different device, and I would suggest that you look in the build.prop file and see if ro.config.low_ram is set to "true". If it is set that way, change it to "false". That may enable the parts of the framework that include the transparent status bar.

I meant to mention that besides it not being transparent, it had the normal 4.3 black background, however, the black background has a smaller margin and the icons at the top were at the VERY bottom of the margin on that box.

Are you using apex? I had this problem and icouldn't figure out why. turns out it was the CM11 Wallpapers. Try using a different wallpaper. It will be fully transparent. That fixed it for me anyway. Goodluck.

Ah, I see. I do not use Apex either, I freaking love GEL and will not get rid of it. When I get home, I'll reflash Cyanogen with the CM installer and I'll fix this. Thanks very much, buddy.
I got it all fixed now. I'm probably not keeping CM11, as I've found some ROMs on here that look really good.

Maybe it was their wallpaper selection.
Unfortunately, alot of the wallpapers on the selection are not big enough to crop well to the screen... That is why it looks like they aren't translucent
And the CM11 installer is, unfortunately one of the reasons for that as well, its made to work across multiple devices, including ones not with softkeys...
I was wondering If I could add touchwiz styled Notification area/quickssettings on my AOSP Stock ROM(4.2.2) Based on MT6572 (MediaTek).
Actually I don't like Google's quicksettings and want Touchwiz styled Notification Area as it's more convenient. I have used third party apps like Notification Toggle but I did not like it as it doesn't have swipe gesture and long pressing any icon won't take me to its settings e.g WiFi. Moreover, it doesn't have any resemblance to Touchwiz. I like Touchwiz UI in every aspect but can't afford to have a Samsung Phone :'( I use HK Theme Manager for theming my mobile as Touchwiz. Though it works like a charm but still my ROM lacks Touchwiz Quicksettings PANEL.
I looked around but didn't find anything helpful. I'm a noobie and haven't ever decompiled or edited any app. Just fond of flashing Custom ROMS which I do with perfection. I asked a developer the same question and he said that I should edit framework, but he didn't tell me what exactly to edit. I Strongly believe that any XDA member would definitely be helping me. As I haven't received any response from XDA's side in my last 2 threads, so I humbly request you guys to guide me about this topic. Would be highly grateful. Thanks in advance!

Why on earth would you post this in the Galaxy S7 board? lol no wonder no one has answered you.
I'll just tell you this since I'm here already...it is not possible. You may be able to find some app or theme that has some of the features you are looking for...but TouchWiz is proprietary and the notification and quick settings are baked into the entire touchwiz framework. You are oing to have to find a alternative option to get the features you want. What features or rather what about the TouchWiz notification do you like ? I am trying to think of things from my past galaxy devices and I can't think of anything the touchwiz shade can do that my shade in Cataclysm(nexus 5) can't. AOSP is so much sexier tan TouchWiz.
Also, why on earth would you want to replace AOSP quick settings with Touchiz...touchwiz is so ugly.
Actually I was unable to find New thread button on xda's homepage.
Well, I think it's possible because I flashed a touchwiz themed ROM and the developer themed AOSP ROM to look like Touchwiz. But it was buggy so, I flashed backup of my ROM.
And I love this thing about Touchwiz notification panel that all the toggles are on the same row and When we pull down status bar, at that moment we can see toggles. Unlike AOSP we don't have to click the button on the top right of the notification bar to move to quick settings.
Install cm12.1 on your device and install galaxy s6 theme
