Cyanogen 9.x still on splash screen - HTC Sensation

Hi,
I unlocked my bootloader and I installed the recovery-clockwork-touch-5.8.0.9-pyramid on my HTC sensation.
Following the instruction (http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_pyramid ), I wiped my data/factory and cache partition. The install of the CM zip has been completed. After reboot my HTC still on the splash screen of Cyanogen 9.
What did I miss?? Do I've install the google apps may be? Is not so clear in the documentation
Thanks for your help...

also if you are on S-ON change your recovery to 4ext
from 4ext:
format all partitions except sdcard
enable smartflash(because you are on S-ON)
flash the rom
done

I didn't install EXT4. I installed recovery-clockwork
I tried to install EXT4 trough the APK application, but doesn't work in the bootloader.. Now it's a few late isn't it?
My bootloader is unlocked. I don't know if I did well but how to check if the smartflash is enabled?
From recovery Clockwork I formated all partitions except sdcard. I've got error in formating /sd-ext.
How to S-OFF? I working with Linux workstation.
Thanks.

For installing cm9 o newer, you must be in the 3.32 o 3.33 firmware, that why i asked the version of android you were before flashing.

I'm going to try to reply to eveyone
I tryed to flash the recovery with 4EXT but it's failed :
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
sending 'recovery' (26 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.224s]
writing 'recovery'...
FAILED (remote: image error! (BootMagic check fail))
finished. total time: 0.539s
I tried the JuopunutBear with the wire tricks. That procedure made me stress a lot as I had to flash the boot image sucessfully.
Now my HTC sense runing under 3.33.401.6 (or 3.6) firmware rom from HTC and the WIFI doesn't work anymore.
Any advise are welcome

1-Relock your bootloader again, this command "fastboot oem lock"
2-Flash your phone again with the proper RUU for your phone if you don't have supercid.
I'm waiting your feedback.

Ok problem solved
In fact, I didn't download well the file recovery.img, because I did a right click following a save as on the link. So I've got the the web page not the good file. My PC told me it was a HTML file. So I click with my left button on the link
https://www.dropbox.com/s/6ybcxyrpzv88uik/recovery.img
And a different page with the good file opened
After that, I could Enable 4EXT Temporary smartflash , I put a custom rom which booted well.
Thanks for your support.....

3. Now download that rom and save to sd card
4. Now reboot into recovery from ROM manager

@sagarda : You forgot a very important thing... He unlocked his phone using HTC dev site. That means the boot is still locked. So the kernel is still preserved from the old ROM, which is incompatible with the ROM he's flashed now, and this is never going to allow the phone to boot up with this new ROM.
So he has to flash boot.img separately from fastboot. I know you were only trying to help, but it's best to only give advice that you have actually tried yourself, otherwise you may end up bricking someone's phone trying to help him.
As for @igorICS, you need to extract boot.img from the ROM zip, and flash it separately using fastboot if you want to boot up this new ROM. And please learn to do some reading before taking the plunge, rather than later...
i pulled battery again and i enered recovery somehow, and recived message,
''can't mount ...''
and i just restored my backup
and i dont wanna **** around with this thing...

Just add a \ between Desktop and boot.img!
I try not to use desktop for cmd purposes...
Just to be 100% sure, follow the steps below:
1. Make a new folder in C:\ called boot
2. Now place the boot.img in the folder you created (C:\boot)
3. Now, using fastboot, type the following at the command prompt (for you, i see that it is C:\Android) ----- fastboot flash boot C:\boot\boot.img
4. Once you get a confirmation of a successful flash, type adb reboot
5. That's it. Enjoy your new ROM !

Once you've installed the RUU, use ADB to push 4ext recovery, then reboot into recovery and flash the Supervisor 3.1.3 file - once you then reboot into the full system again you will have root access and can install the 4ext updater from the Play Store and update recovery to the latest version.

For the people, like me, who have only done the HTCdev unlock ( S-ON ), it's quite easy to update the software/ROM using the RUU.
After downloading the RUU from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1857478 I just immediately ran it, but it failed with an error along the lines of : RUU, security fail! update fail!
So after a bit of googling around I figured that the RUU might simply not be happy with the phone being in an unlocked state, so after doing the following the RUU ran successfully :
1. Re-lock the bootloader with the "fasboot oem lock" command. The output after running the command shows the lock process was successful but moaned about something else failing, still not sure what that was. So after doing this my phone was kinda stuck in the bootloader, where it says ***relocked*** at the top and ***security warning!*** right underneath it. Everytime I reboot or powercycle it would just boot straight back into the bootloader with the warnings, which worried me a little bit.
2. In the bootloader I selected fastboot and connected the USB cable, and then I ran the RUU again. This time it completed successfully after some time. My HTC sync was installed but not running, so seems like that isn't even needed ?
And that's actually it. This process obviously puts the phone in a relocked state, and an overall factory configuration, it also restores the recovery ROM to the factory image or whatever.
No success
Hi,
I try to root my S-off /XTC Clip/ device, BUT:
1. 4ext pushed with adb - OK
2. I try to install recovery - 4ext wants busybux
3. I downloaded busybox - but it wants a rooted devices I got a message that "unrooted device" and busybox is closed
So I don't have recovery menu
What could be the solution ?

if you're running hboot 1.14 and 2.20, go into recovery and wipe system, data, cache, etc.
flash the ROM you want, reboot bootloader and flash the boot.img via fastboot
"fastboot flash boot boot.img"
"fastboot reboot"
w/o quotes
I did that same thing, Do you have the international version? if so, then do the above.
If not, you may have overwritten your boot partitions. You'll have to run your device specific RUU. There are a few threads on here with different RUUs and links to outside sources to get the device specific RUU.
I say that you may have over written your boot partitions because ViperX 2.6 is for the international version only. My ROM ViperXL 2.1.2 is the one for us.
you should ruu back to stock then use your unlock token. can't believe you flashed an international after being in here for a little while.
I ran stock ruu and then tried to unlock bootloader, it says it was successful but it still says relocked and now when I tried to do it again with another unlock token it gives me an error message in cmd, same error when flashing recovery. It took me to the prompt on my phone asking if I wanted to unlock and I said I did but still says relocked in bootloader. Also won't let me flash recovery from goo so I can root.

Viper X 2.6.0 and TWRP 2.3.1
I'm a newbie that recently rooted the att one x 2.20 firmware. I currently have boot loop problem that I would most appreciate advice on. I have twrp recovery 2.3.1 flashed. I used the backup function first to backup the rooted stock rom and then attempted to install ViperX 2.6.0. Here are my exact steps and problem in sequence.
1. I placed the ViperX zip file into the main phone directory.
2. I extracted the boot.img file from the Viper zip file and placed it into a desktop directory
3. I loaded fastboot usb and ran the command prompts to flash the boot.image. Getting the following message.
C:\android>fastboot flash boot boot.img
sending 'boot' (4302 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.631s]
writing 'boot'...
OKAY [ 1.134s]
finished. total time: 1.765s
4. Then I erased the cache based on instructions from onexroot.com
C"\android>fastboot erase cache
erasing 'cache'...
OKAY [0.121s]
finished. total time: 0.121s
5. Next I went into TWRP and used the wipe menu to do factory reset, wipe cache, and wipe dalvik cache in that order.
6. Go into Install menu and selected ViperX 2.6.0 zip file. Confirmed flash
7. Followed the installation guide - Full installation, non-custom kernel, full wipe.
8. The flash completed. Hit finished button.
9. The phone now boot loops on the HTC Think Brilliant screen with the legal disclaimer. I got back into the TWRP recovery tool and tried to restore my stock rom using the Restore menu. The script runs successfully, but then continues the bootloop at the Think Brilliant screen.
10. I repeated steps 1 to 8 twice but continue to have the bootloop. Am I missing steps to install Viper X or restoring my stock rom?

http://www.teamandroid.com/2013/04/09/update-htc-one-xl-hatka-android-411-jelly-bean-custom-rom/2/
I got to the final step and rebboted phone. After that, problems began. It runs again the clockworkmod recovery and it says it cannot mount the sdcard. I read that i have to flash the stock ROM. I tried that getting the recovery.img from the clockworkmod backup folder nad now when phone reboots,it starts the clockworkmod but when i make i choice on this it goes for rebooting...
Any help please????

First off, I'd use TWRP since it's compatible with all ROMs and CWM has very little compatibility with our phone.
To do that, download TWRP 2.3.3.1 Check MD5
boot to bootloader/fastboot
then fastboot flash recovery twrpfilename.zip
then wipe cache, dalvik, system, factory reset in TWRP
Flash rom.
If you are on hboot 1.14, you then need to extrract the boot.img from the ROM's zip and fastboot flash boot boot.img
As for the not able to mount SDCard, did you factory reset in the bootloader?
Hey my friend thnks for the reply. I'll try all of these right now. If u can please follow the thread, I might have more questions...Thnks again!
I've reache the point where i mount again my sd card and making all thw wipe things...
I' ve installed the rom but after it says that is succesfully installed and rebooting it shows the htc logo and after that...nothing!
The device turns off(or at least i think it is)black screen, no charge little orange light...But when it comes to this mode, I can hear the soun of the pc like when u do connect a device!
What am I doing wrong?
And yes I have hboot 1.14. What is the correct sequence in the actions????
Did you extract the boot.img from the rom and then flash it using fastboot?

Yes I did.
Booting in bootloader
going to fastboot and it changes to fastboot usb
typing in command prompt
>fastboot flash boot boot.img
I get
sending 'boot' (6076 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.901s]
writing 'boot'...
OKAY [ 1.528s]
finished. total time: 2.430s
from the bootloader options i choose recovery
phone restarts on twrp
I swipe everything out
I go to install and choose the zip file from the sd card which contains the rom
installation starts ok and it finishes saying all ok
I choose reboot in system from the twrp
(In this point i get a question on fixing root permissions and i choose yes)
after rebboting, htc logo comes up and after that...nothing...
Please help...

You're wiping after flashing the boot.img... so you need to reflash the boot.img don't wipe anything, just fastboot flash boot boot.img and then reboot the phone.

[Q] HTC One S can't pass the HTC logo

Hello
a few days ago I used "HTC ONE S AIO KIT" to install Jelly bean 4.2.2 on my HTC ONE S
I successfully installed the jelly bean and everything was fine
during the process, I created a backup from my phone in the ClockworkMod
today, I booted to ClockworkMod recovery > backup and restore > restore > and selected the backup file I created
the phone restarted and got stuck on the HTC ONE logo
I did everything I could in the past 2 hours, searching everywhere
even tried this command "fastboot flash boot "C:\...\boot.img"" but nothing worked - after doing this, the ClockworkMod gave me an error that said "can't mount /sdcard"
appreciate any help
Ok , I just updated to latest version of clockwork and still can not fix "can't mount sdcard" error
I have been doing this for 6 hrs now
can someone please help me ?
dnotoco some

Well that is a pickle. Not having a RUU to fall back on.
Good news is you can still fastboot in bootloader.
So you can try different roms until one works. So at least you have a phone that works.
Push a rom to your phone

Ok. Are you flashing the boot. img from the extracted rom zip that you are installing. I never used the c:/ blah blah. I always put the boot.img file in the same folder as adb and fastboot then with the phone in fastboot usb type fastboot flash boot boot.img in the command prompt on the computer. It sounds like you might have a bad recovery. Have you tried to flash a new recovery?
