[tools] Odex your rom through CWM(system apps/framework) [diodex rom]

So i found this thread that will easier re-odexed ur diodexed rom to experiance the benefits of odexed rom through cwm- no pc needed.
I have try it and this mod working well with our sgs+. But only use the zip that only odex system apps and system framework. If you choose the zip that odex your data/apps, maybe some problem will occured like some apps wills fc or wont install. But be free to test it with your own responsible and dont forget to make a nandroid backup before flash this mod!
Requirement
Diodexed rom
Busybox
Rooted
Kernel with init.d support
Debugging mode
Free space estimated 50mb on system directory
Instruction
Boot into cwm
Mount system/data/cache
Flash the zip
Wipe cache and dalvik
Reboot
1st boot may take a while so be patient.
To see if it work, using root explorer or something similar go to system/app and system framework
You should see the odex file in it.
All credits and download can be found here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22086785
Some explanation here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31958735
I only test it on gb rom (shadowrom with broodkernel 1.3). But if others have success with ics/jb can report here.
NOTE
If you have odexed system apps and only want to odexed your framework dont use this mod..it will cause bootloop. The rom must be fully diodexed!
ODEX ME APP
If you only want to odexed system apps alone , there was an apps that called odex me. You can download it here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16590325
Its very easy just install like normal apk and run it. The requirement still same as i state it above.
Instruction
-Open the apps and press odex me botton
- your phone will reboot ,then you need to wait until it reboot again. Dont wory its normal and the duration from 1st reboot to 2nd reboot estimated around 3-5 minutes.
- after 2nd reboot using root explorer or similar go to system apps and check if that odex file present. If it still not 100% odexed apps present just repeat the process till all the system apps 100% odexed.
This app was tested on my Gjoybread (gb) rom and work well. I dont test it on ics/jb rom yet. If anybody has then report it here for reference to other users.
I just want to share this in purpose it will be usefull for anybody on this comunity especially for the dev or rom cookers. Maybe someday we will have odexed custom rom available in our comunity in the future.
Happy odexing your rom and enjoy.
donate me

Flashable Zip
I made an Aroma Flashable Zip But you still need to manually replace the jar file
Suggestions.
Tried it. Must say you worked hard for it : good:
A few suggestions if I may : fingers-crossed:
1) Reduce the sensitivity of swipe. i mean for now in order to remove notification you have to slide to almost 75% of the screen can you reduce it to 50% thats mean we have to slide only halfway in order to remove notification.coz in ics n jb its in that way
2) The power buttons/switch( WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS,data etc) are bit small for thumb can u increase its size by 50% ?? (100->150 like thats.)
Besides look awesome got ICS looks Keep it Up buddy.

The swipe thing will require modifying d xmls(tideous task)
for now bear with it but ill surely update it.
The power buttons size if increased they become blurred so the present one was d best

have you ported from a5?? coz i guess as its resolution is less the resolution of those images is also less. umm try images from systemui that i gaved you because even our device is HDPI so the images will be of higher resolution.:good:
else u can try from stock rom or else any cm rom whoes resolution is HDPI.
about that sliding stuff u can take reference from our XML i.e. A90S's one.

The best of tweaks!!!!

Guys just try this tweak by flashing once and I guarantee that you ll experience that so called buttery smoothness both in apps as well as games. This collection of tweaks contains all the required stuff so that u don't have apply each tweak separately.
Recommended that no tweaks are applied before. Uninstall seeder if u have installed. Entropy values should not have been modified.
Just download the tweak and flash it in the recovery. You must have at least 10mb according to the developer. I recommend u to delete some useless stuff like Apollo, android keyboard, etc. U can install those stuff like normal apks.
If you want to verify that the tweaks are working just open terminal emulator and type:
Su
Directinject
Set the min free values according to how u deal with apps by typing:
Su
Rambooster
Type the following in the same to achieve zero lag in the ui:
Su
Entro
That's it! Experience real working tweak!
Tested on cm9 build 9, cm10.1 beta1.
Links:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/uuftg1nniz958ok/direct_inject_turbo_v3.0.0_official_release.zip
Do press thanks button in the developer post before downloading the tweak.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2158329
Hits thanks button anyways!!!
If you are trying to use this tweak on phones with overclocked kernels, just copy all the stuff from system folder to the respective folders in your phone and set the permissions(check all the boxes using root explorer). Use 600mhz while transferring stuff into system partition. Use any root apps to clear dalvik cache.

In simple words u just don't know how to flash.
Like I said around 10mb must be free according to developer. But the quality of the recoveries we use just won't fill the memory completely. So delete all the unwanted stuff like wallpaper apks, media files, boot animation, unwanted language packs, etc. Just make the ROM look slim. Flash it. If it boots then flash gapps. If it is flashed properly, then flash that kernel. If your phone works correctly without any apps force closing, then reboot to recovery and flash the stuff.
U can install all those stuff u deleted later. @everyone just don't post stuff like ROM not booting, etc, etc. First confirm whether the rom is booted and then flash this stuff.

ODEX 4.4.2 Kitkat

I just wanted to tips you guys running 4.4.2 kitkat custom DEODEX rom about this.
"Would you like to speed up your rom, more stability, more battery life, no lag to open system app and better ram utilization? Now you can! (Only For Rooted Phone And Deodexed Rom)"
"What is ODEX and DEODEX?
In Android file system, applications come in packages with the extension .apk. These application packages, or APKs contain certain .odex files whose supposed function is to save space. These odex files are actually collections of parts of an application that are optimized before booting. Doing so speeds up the boot process, as it preloads part of an application. On the other hand, it also makes hacking those applicationsdifficult because a part of the coding has already been extracted to another location before execution.
THEN COMES DEODEX
Deodexing is basically repackaging of these APKs in a certain way, such that they are reassembled into classes.dex files. By doing that, all pieces of an application package are put together back in one place, thus eliminating theworry of a modified APK conflicting with some separate odexed parts.
In summary, Deodexed ROMs (or APKs) have all their application packages put back together in one place, allowing for easy modification such as theming. Since no pieces of code are coming from any external location, custom ROMs or APKs are always deodexed to ensure integrity."
"Another explanation is this:
If you odex the rom, you'll have also more space in data (this is important because if you don't have partition ext4 in sdcard, you won't have too free space), increase battery life, more stability and increase perfomance( the Rom is more faster to load system and app) but you can't modifie apk after odex (you can't mod program with classes.dex).
Infact ODEX is an OPTIMIZED-DEX and Android load system and app faster than deodexed (DEOPTIMIZED-DEX) app and system.
When you have a deodex file (a lot of roms are deodexed) you have File.apk in system/app and in data/dalvik-cache/[email protected]@[email protected], but with odex file you have File.apk in system/app and File.odex in system/app"

I didn't let it to finish started fail fail etc and cut it at all first and when tried one by one the 3 other choices it did the same too. This rom had problem with supersu and I fixed it installing supersu update 1.94, maybe is this I don't know. At supersu application terminal has supersu permissions also when running the script looks that it has supersu permissions. Other apps like mobile odin pro titanium backup etc which need supersu working normally.

[4.2]Experimental mod (decrease ram usage)

So i did this today morning
I replaced my javax.obex.jar with the attached file
When i rebooted
The dalvik cache for some apps was automatically recreated even though i didn't clear it
From then on the apps running in background are using very low ram
Everything's working fine
With so much apps installed
Even the Facebook's ram hogging app
Whatsapp, hike, hangouts and some other services like google+etc.
After even 30 mins.of rebooting
I had 160+mb ram
Even now I'm using the xda app and it's consuming 50+mb
I have around 140+mb ram and all the background services running!
This worked for me
You try it for yourself
THIS IS NOT ANY RAM SCRIPT OR MINFREE SETTING
What this does is reduce ram usage by applications!
This does not remove any functionality
Warning:I'm not responsible for bricked devices
Keep a backup
this is not gonna brick your device but be careful
So here's what you have to do
1.Grab the attached file
2.open root explorer or any root file explorer
3.Mount system r/w
4.copy the attached file to system
5.set permissions (rw-r-r)
6.move the file to framework folder
7.reboot to recovery
8.clear dalvik cache
9.reboot
done!!
Try it for yourself
It worked for me!
I had just 80-90 mb ram at max. before this
And now it's 140 or more
With even more services running
